Postage Affection Primrose Travel Friend and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone! How is everyone’s weekend so far? Mine has been great! We went horseback riding this morning and had a great time. We got to help groom the horses and get them all saddled up and then went for a nice ride. You forget how big horses are until you stand next to them!

There I am standing next to Ben, which is the horse my friend rode. We got to walk them around and bond a little before went went out. After our ride went went back to the house and got cleaned up and went over to Chester, VT. We had lunch at this amazing restaurant called Alice’s. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend stopping there for a bite to eat.

Today’s card is another one of my recent favorites. I have really been into Pool Party and Crumb Cake lately, I think it makes a nice subtle combination. The base of the card is Pool Party and I stamped it with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp in Pool Party ink. The layer on top of that is a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock that I cut out with the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die and embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top set of images are from the new Affection Collection Stamp Set* from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. The backing image is stamped in Pool Party and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the oval in the center. The friend is from the same set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with my Paper Snips. I flagged a piece of Pool Party Card Stock and mounted the images over it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The middle set of images are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and Crumb Cake and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I mounted them to a piece of Primrose Petals that I also paper-pierced and flagged. The bottom image is made using the Travel Journal Builder Wheel and Soft Suede Ink. I flagged the end of that too. The piece of Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon is adhered down the side of the card with Sticky Strip and finally, I flagged the ends of the ribbon too. I love the color combination and these are two of my favorite stamp sets. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for stopping by. Have a great Sunday!

Beautiful Summer Woodgrain Rosette For You

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend! What are you all up to this weekend. I’m up in Vermont until tomorrow. It’s so beautiful up here. We’re going horseback riding this morning and then off to the farmers market. Here are a few more picture of the place that I am staying. This is the view up to the barn from the main house…

Here are two of the beautiful horses and my friend Kim in the middle…

And this is the view from the top of the barn back down to the house…

It’s a very large piece of property and there are five houses in all. The weather has been gorgeous and I’m having a really relaxing time. Later I’m going to bust out some stamps and start on my swaps for my meeting in 2 weeks, I am suffering from withdrawal!

Today’s card is a CASE of one from this month’s issue of Stampin’ Success, the magazine that we get as demonstrators. I changed up some of the elements but kept the layout the same. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the front of the card with the Woodgrain Background stamp using Crumb Cake Ink. Then I took my 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and punched out a piece on the left side. Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and some Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper I made a rosette and centered it in the hole that I punched out. The middle of the rosette has a piece of Vellum Card Stock punched out with the new 1 /4″ Scalloped Circle Punch. On to top of that are pieces of Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock that are punched out with the Boho Blossoms Punch. They are all held together with a Neutrals Collection Brad and adhered to the rosette with some Mini Glue Dots. I used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut out some butterflies in Real Red and Whisper White and adhered them to the card with some more Mini Glue Dots. Some Basic Jewels Pearls add some nice interest to the bodies and I slightly bent the wings up on some of them. The greeting is from the Made For You Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on Whisper White. I used my Paper Snips to flag the end and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the edges and placed a piece of Real Red behind it before mounting it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the card and how simple and beautiful it is. I’ll be making some different variations as this one is definitely a favorite of mine. Thank you so much for checking in and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Sweet Bitty Butterfly Chevron Box

Good morning! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day and that you have all of you digits still! I went with my friend Kim and my daughter Taylor to a party at my friend Carol’s. I got to see all of my peeps there and the food was great. There was a Sabrett hot dog vendor and a raw bar, clam bake and lobsters. After that we went to Kim & Brian’s and I got to see my favorite little girl Izzy and my other peeps who I have missed so much! All in all it was a great day!

Today’s project is a CASE from the 2012-2013 Catalog. I changed up the colors and greeting and a few other things too. The box is made from Baja Breeze and Soft Suede Card Stock using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. The top of the box decoration starts with a piece of Naturals White Card Stock that I cut on both top and bottom with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. The piece of Baja Breeze on top is embossed using the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I cut another piece of Naturals White with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and adhered that to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The butterflies are punched from Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze and Soft Suede Card Stock with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the Bitty Buttons to the butterflies. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Baja Breeze on Crumb Cake and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. What a nice way to give a good friend a stack of Lotto tickets or some handmade cards. I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and thank you for visiting. Have a great day!

Crumb Pool Beautiful B’day CASE

Good morning and welcome to Wednesday! The middle of the week means that the weekend is that much closer. I have off from work today and am going into the city to see Wicked with my friends. I have see it before but it’s such a great play I can’t wait to see it again! For today’s card I was suffering from Holiday Catalog envy so I kind of CASE’d a card from it. Obviously I didn’t have the same products so I used what I have and changed a few things. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The piece of ribbon is from a while ago, Very Vanilla 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon, that I think I got from the Clearance Rack. I wrapped a piece of Pool Party Bakers Twine around it twice and tied a bow. The greeting is from the Beautiful Birthday Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Pool Party on Very Vanilla. I edged the piece with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies and also used them to cut out the piece of Pool Party on the bottom. I wrapped another piece of Pool Party Bakers Twine around that and adhered a thin piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock just below. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I adhered a Vintage Faceted Button with a Mini Glue Dot to the Lucky Limeade strip. I love the card and can’t wait to try other variations on it. I hope that you enjoyed it too and thank you, as always, for checking in. Have an awesome day!

High Line Rose Wings Believe Frame

Good morning peeps. How was everyone’s Monday. Mine was good because I had card class! It nice because my daughter Taylor comes with me and we get to laugh and make cards for a few hours. Today’s project is a picture in a frame. I wanted to show how you can use some simple elements to embellish a picture. The picture was taken in Manhattan at the High Line which is an old section of elevated freight train track the runs from Gansevoort Street to West 20th Street on the West Side that they have turned into a green space. I went there a few months ago with my friend Kim and took this picture of a flower. I’m not even sure what kind of flower it is but I love the way  it is in focus and all of the background isn’t. The greeting is from the Just Believe Stamp set and is stamped in Rose Red and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The butterflies are form the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and are cut from Rose Red Card Stock. All of the items are mounted to the picture on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I put the picture in a shadow box frame. I think this would make a great gift for anyone. I highly recommend that if you are ever in Manhattan that you go and take a walk on the High Line. Its a beautiful and different way to spend the afternoon. Thanks for checking in with me and enjoy your day!

Paper Players #98

Hello everyone and a good Monday morning to you. I hope that you all had a great weekend, I know I did. I had two meetings with friends about making invitations and my brother and his fiancée stopped by and picked their wedding invitations. I had a nice crafty Sunday! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks host is Jaydee and she has given us a theme challenge…

Summertime! As soon as I saw it I thought what says summertime better than a pinwheel! The base of the card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I ran a piece of Real Red Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The pinwheel is made from a 3 1/4″ square piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. I used a Brights Collection 3/16″ Brad to secure all of the wings to the center. A piece of wooden dowel makes the handle and I tied a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon to the middle. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies to cut it out. I adhered everything to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. It’s a relatively simple card to make and I love all of the bright colors.  I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank for stopping by. Have a great Monday! 🙂

Comfort Café Bead Pinwheel Postage Thanks and Sneak Peek

Good morning and Happy Memorial Day! I hope that you all have some fun outdoor activities planned today with family and friends. It looks like it may be a nice day here today, hopefully it will stay that way! I went over to Stamp with Sandy the other night and we made paper beads and pinwheels. Today’s card features both of those items and another sneak peek. The base of the card is Soft Suede with a piece of Baja Breeze added as a plain background. The piece of Designer Series Paper in the middle is Comfort Café** from the new catalog. I cut it out with the new Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies** and my Big Shot. The pinwheel is made using a piece of First Edition Designer Series Paper. It is cut to 3 1/2″ square and scored diagonally from corner to corner using the Simply Scored with the Diagonal Plate. You then cut up each of the score lines leaving about 1/2″ in the center. Then you punch holes in the right hand side of each of the flaps with the 1/16″ Circle Punch and one in the middle. You take a brad and go around in a circle attaching all of the flaps and then put it through the middle and you have your pinwheel. I cut a thin strip of Soft Suede Card Stock for the stick and used some Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the front of the card. The butterfly is made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die and Midnight Muse* Card Stock. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead made with some more First Edition Designer Series Paper. To make the bead you cut out an 8″ long by 1″ wide triangle and wrap the large end around a toothpick and roll it a little and then use Tombo Multipurpose Glue to adhere the rest of the length which gives you the bead shape. After it has dried for a while you use a paintbrush to coat it with a layer of Crystal Effects to give it the shine and make it a little more durable. It is adhered to the butterfly with a Mini Glue Dot and to the Card With a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is from the Pretty Postage Stamp Set. I used the 1″ Square Punch to punch it out and then the 3/16″ Corner Rounder to round the corners. I then punched out a piece of Midnight Muse* with the Curly Label Punch for the backing, it is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspired you to try a pinwheel or to make a paper bead. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #94

Good morning peeps! It’s been rainy here and just miserable, it’s supposed to clear up for the weekend let’s hope it does! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. They have asked us to celebrate our mothers…

Which is quite timely since Mother’s Day is this coming weekend and who doesn’t want to celebrate their mother?! I started with a base of Perfect Plum and used my Eyelet Border Punch to punch two sides of a piece of Rose Red Card Stock. I stamped the leaves image from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set in Certainly Celery on Whisper White Card Stock. Then I stamped two of the solid image flowers in Rose Red and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The mom is from the retired Messages for Mom Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum, I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I stamped the greeting from the same set on Perfect Plum and flagged the ends with the 1″ Square Punch and adhered it with still more Stampin Dimensionals. I’m really liking the color combination and hope that you are inspired to make your mother a nice card for this Sunday. Thanks of dropping by and have a great day!

Navy River Suede Triple Worn Thanks

Good morning peeps and happy Thursday! One more day and we’ll be at Friday! When I went to Washington, DC a few weeks ago I mentioned that friends of mine let me use their gorgeous apartment in Georgetown. You really couldn’t ask to meet two nicer people than they are. I was so glad that they liked the thank you card that I sent then. It was actually one of the few times that I had a picture for inspiration. I was asked to see if the curtains in this photo would work in the apartment…

As it so happens they will look great! I took some of the colors from the picture and used them in the thank you card. I started with a base of Soft Suede. The top part of the background is River Rock that I ran through my Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bottom half is a piece of Well Worn Designer Series Paper (Retired List) that coincidentally has all of the colors in that I needed! I covered the seam with a piece of Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon (Retired List). The images are from the Triple Treat Flower A la Carte Wood Mount Stamp (Retired List) and they are stamped in Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso. I used the Fancy Flower Punch to punch them out and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede and mounted on a piece of Soft Suede Card Stock. I love the card and will miss the retiring products but can’t wait to see what is in store for us in the new catalog! Have a great day and thank for stopping by!

Paper Players #93

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend, I did. I got to see some friends in Manhattan and spent some time with my favorite daughter, wait she’s my only daughter, but she is still my favorite! 🙂 Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks hostess is Leslie and she has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge. Pick three in a row to make your card…

I chose to go diagonal with Flowers, Pick Your Own (watercoloring) and Designer Paper (I made my own). The base of the card is Soft Suede. For my designer paper I took a piece of Very Vanilla and inked up the Parlor Prints Background Stamp in Rich Razzleberry. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade and then embossed it using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images and the greeting are from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. The cup is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the pansy is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I CASE’d the image from Stampin’ Success. I used an Aqua Painter with Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade Ink to paint in the flowers and leaves. I stamped the image a second time, watercolored it, cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it on a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the image and mounted it to the Lucky Limeade label with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies too and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I added a Basic Jewels Pearl to the center of the flower just for Ann! I hope that you enjoy the card and thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!
