Mojo Monday 469

I hope that your weekend was as nice as mine! Yesterday morning Heather and I went to the Deli and had flagels for breakfast before heading over to Valley Stream to pick up her brother. The traffic wasn’t too bad heading into Manhattan but once we got in boy was there a lot! It didn’t take us too long to get to the Javits Center and drop off Russell at Comic-Con. But it took us an hour to get from the Javits Center over to 72nd and Lexington. I got to Jim and Diane’s at 11:00 and Heather had to head back to Valley Stream to stay with her grandmother because they had to take her Dad to the Hospital again. I had a nice visit with Jim and Diane and I got to meet their Daughter Wendy and her daughter too! Around 1:00 I was going to head back to Penn Station when Kim called me and asked if I wanted to meet her for lunch, of course I did! We went to 5 Napkins Burgers and boy were they delicious! The fries were excellent too! After lunch we took a walk over to the Nespresso Store on Madison seeing as the rain finally stopped. We tried a few different kinds of espresso and I bought a few sleeves of pods to take home. I left Kim at 60th and Lexington to get the N back to Penn which took forever to come. Once I got to Penn I had to figure out howĀ I was going to go to get home. There was a derailment on the Ronkonkoma line, the one I usually take, so I had to take a train to Massapequa and have my Parents come and get me. I saw Taylor for a little while when I got home, her mouth is feeling much better. I straightened up a little and made a plan of attack to get the rest of the house cleaned up before calling it a night. Back to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store this morning, I have a bunch of projects to finish!

Monday so it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

mojo469

Today’s card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Herb Garden. I used the Concord & 9th with Simon Says Stamp Cozy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp Set for all of my images and greeting. The outline image is stamped in Altenew Dark Chocolate Ink onto a piece of Kraft to create my background. Next up is a piece of 48lb Vellum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Dotted Circle Stackables Lawn Cuts. A panel and a strip with the end flagged of Dark Molasses is added next. My greeting from the set is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto more Herb Garden and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped the pinecones twice using my Mini MISTI and more Dark Chocolate Ink to get the layers perfectly aligned. They are cut out with the Coordinating Die. One is adhered to the top after being trimmed and the other next to the greeting, both with 3D Foam Squares. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Mossy Green and Rose Gold Sequins to complete the card. I love the way that you can get a nice layered look with just the one ink color and the set is definitely a favorite of mine! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG for more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Thanks, as always, for starting your week off with me! Have an amazing Monday! šŸ™‚

I’m almost all caught up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My Hero Arts order is all entered! Finally! LOL! The Magic of Vellum Class was great! Everyone was very impressed with the technique that they learned and I got some feedback for future classes from my talented students! My Parent’s stopped by the store and we got to FaceTime with Aunt Shirley in London. After work it was time for this week’s Thirsty Thursday! Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside and enjoyed the perfect evening! Today I’m off to Manhattan for much needed visit! I’ll stop by The Ink Pad and then go uptown to see my friend Ella. From there I’m going to meet Kim and maybe have some dinner! I’m looking forward to it! As I had mentioned earlier in the week this is my first post for today! There will be another one around 12:00 for the new Design Team that I’m on over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! Be sure to come back for that!

This morning I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #311

Circles… I haven’t made a round card in a very long time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out the folded card base except for about 1/8″ at the top. I then trimmed off about an 1/8″ from the bottom of the back panel and put it aside. My front panel on my card is stamped with the Concord & 9th Flourish Photopolymer Stamp Set in AltenewĀ Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. I used the same Stitched Circle Die to trim it out and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. To frame the card I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is another piece of Gold Mirror Card cut out with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Pansy Purple Sequins finish the card! I love that Flourish Set and can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by this morning, don’t forget to stop back this afternoon to see the second post! Have an easy Friday morning! šŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 64 – CAS, Less is More!

How nice it was to have a long weekend! Having two days of that long weekend off was nice too! I did miss the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Renee but we’ll be back at it again today! I had a very crafty day yesterday! I love it when I get to make a bunch of cards ahead of time! I also love to have a nice crafty day at home! I was super productive and got four cards made! Woo hoo! Andrea and I FaceTimed just like the old days! Last night I went over to visit my friend Sue and see my pal Buddy! He missed me more than Sue did! LOL! We had a nice long chat and some good laughs, best way to end the day if you ask me! This morning I have to get my thinking cap on so I can plan this week’s Magic of Vellum Class at the store! We all know how much I love me some Vellum! šŸ˜€

The first Tuesday of the month, that means that we have a new Guest Designer over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog! This month it’s Jennifer Timko! To start the month off we have a Clean and Simple, Less is More Challenge…

SIP Challenge 64 - CAS

I did an almost one layer card with something that I love the look of but don’t do enough, masking! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the flowers from the Altenew Remember This Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The large flower is then stamped onto a piece of Post-it Note and cut that out with my Scissors. After I stamped the base layer of the flower in Warm Sunshine I put the mask over it and stamped the outlines and leaves of the other two flowers in Warm Sunshine, Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades. The additional layers of all of the flowers are stamped in Mango Smoothie and Buttercream. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black. To add a little detail I used the largest of the Lawn Fan Small Dotted Rectangle Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim down my panel. It’s adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is finished! I really love the Altenew Florals and must remember how much I like masking, it really is an awesome technique! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOGĀ and check out Jennifer’s and the rest of the crazy talented Design Team’s cards. After you had a dose of inspiration enter your take on the challenge in the gallery! Thank you very much fro coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! šŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 209

Hello… it’s me! LOL! Love that song and Adele for that matter! How are you today?! We have made it to the mid-way point, yay! I had a nice busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, so busy that when I looked at the clock it was 4:30! Where did that day go?! I did get a lot accomplished and that is always a good thing! Renee had her Home Decor class and they made the apple today, it came out really cute! I snuck out a little early again and after dinner I made my card for today and then ran to Target. You can never go in that store and just get what you went for! Do you have that issue too?!

So Wednesday and we are over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS209 DT Sketch 8-30-2016

I choose the first column down! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To makeĀ my Ā background I created a mask with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders andĀ then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand and Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the water. I left the mask over the water and flicked some Heidi Swapp Gold and Bronzer Color Shine onto the beach and used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying. The panel is then adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner. Across the top is a piece of Vellum and I cut the bottom with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders but reversed from the mask that I made. My greeting is theĀ die cut you from the Hero Arts Thank You Pair Fancy Die, cut once from Ice Gold Curious Metallic and twice from Solar White 110lb. The rest of the greeting is from the My Monthly Hero Kit from May and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I adhered the three you die cuts together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the Vellum. Some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape is hidden behind the you and the Vellum panel is adhered to the card. The shells are cut from Ice Gold and White Gold Curious Metallic and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Rose Gold and Pewter Sequins along with a few Wood Veneer Stars on the sand and the card is done! I love that Color Shine and Sequins on the sand, I look at the card and I’m at the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOGĀ and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! They are always appreciated! Have a wonderful Wednesday! šŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 62 – A Sketch!

Hi! Thanks so much for coming by today! It was another absolutely gorgeous day here! The humidity broke and the temps were in the low 80’s. I got another Altenew order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to replenish some of what is missing and it also included a few new items! I have to get ready for my Partial Die Cutting Class on Wednesday and the massive Lawn Fawn order that will arrive. I need to get that all checked in and ready for Thursday! That’s the day it gets released to the public! Can’t wait to play with all of their new goodies! Wednesday is going to be a crazy busy day at the store! Anyone wanna come by and help?! šŸ˜€

So what do I do on Tuesday?! Oh yes, it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a nice simple sketch…

SIP Challenge 62 - Sketch

When I sat down to make this card on Saturday it started out as a completely different card. Then I went to look for something and found this paper pad that I forgot I had. That was the inspiration for the rest of the card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Early Espresso. The background is that piece of paper from the Prima Cartographer A4 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye Christmas on Market Street Shining StarsĀ Foiled Vellum. The circle is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, I also hid the adhesive for the Vellum behind it! My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. For the feathers I used the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies to cut out some Kraft Card Stock. I added a littleĀ Versa-Mark to the ends and heat embossed some more of the Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder onto them. They are adhered to the gold circle with 3D Foam Squares and a piece of DMC Gold Thread is tied around the top. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that background paper, so glad that I found it! I also love the way the Vellum softens it! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my fantastic Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hopeĀ to see your card in the gallery so that you might be one of our top three picks! Thanks again for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! šŸ™‚

Paper Players 306

Another Wednesday done! I was all by myself at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, well, except for customers! Renee took a much needed day off to spend time with Nick! I spoke to my friend Dianne who told me about a girl that gives Hand-lettering classes! I would love to get someone in to teach that! I would take the class too! I also spoke to Michael and Sue! I did manage to get all of my prep finished for today’s Watercolor 101 Class. I love the way the cards turned out and hope that the students enjoy them just as much! I really do enjoy watercoloring, you can do it so many different ways! The weather here yesterday was just perfect, around 80 degrees so the ride home in the convertible was lovely! Last night I helped my dad with some stuff, had dinner and then came home and tried to decide how I want to re-arrange my house. I need to have a major purge and soon!

Today I have a nice simple card to share with you that I made for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank LeAnne for making me her Headliner for last week’s sketch! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week…

Paper Players #306

I do love a Tic-Tac-Toe board! I went down the last row and across the top too I guess! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Lawn Fawn Chili PepperĀ Card Stock with the Hero Arts Irregular Grid Bold Prints Background in Red Royal and then adhered it to the card base. My tag is a piece of Kraft that I cut out using the tag from the June My Monthly Hero Kit. Some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images are fromĀ one of my favorite sets, the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Intense Black and the used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Ribbon Banner Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and cut it out withĀ the smaller of the two banners. Some Foam Tape holds it to the card and I added a few Enamel Dots for a little interest! I love that Irregular Grid Background, I think that background stamps are very under utilized tools! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for visiting! Have an awesome Thursday! šŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 205

Yes, it was another fun filled day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got all of my prep done for the Watercolor 101 Class! I also managed to get my card made for today too! Whoa! Look at me go! LOL! We had a few new people stop by the store and one decided that they would try this month’s card class! Love introducing new peeps to card making! I had a very relaxingĀ ride home with the top down and the music up nice and loud. Dinner was my fave, homemade mac & cheese! After dinner I changed the cabin air filter in my car, it was black and clearly had never been changed. Yuck! The rest of the evening was nice and laid back. Today I want to start planning some future classes and get my thoughts in order for the Christmas Village classes!

Mid-week so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS205 DT Sketch 8-03-2016

It’s Concord & 9th 1st Birthday this month! I used some of their goodies from the last release to create today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Joy from the Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lime Green and the snowflake and star from the O, Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Grape Juice and Soft Granite. The strip is backed with a piece of My Colors Lemon Lime and adhered to the card base. MyĀ shaker starts with a piece of Solar White 80lb. I stamped the Joy from the Joy Set in Grape Juice and cut it out with the Concord & 9th Joy Die. The snowflakes are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Granite and then I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts to cut it, a piece of Acetate and another piece of White out. The Acetate is adhered to the back of the die cut piece with Scor-Tape and some Foam Tape is added to the back. I then added some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequin Mix, taking out the Silver and replacing them with Gold, to the well and adhered the backing to it. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting is fromĀ the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto another piece of Lemon Lime. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the shaker. A snowflake is cut out from Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes Lawn Cuts and adhered to the right side of the banner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Amethyst Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the nice bright green with the purple, you know me and my non-traditional holiday cards, and I love that Joy stamp and die set! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery after you get some more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Thank you for paying me a visit today! I wish you a wonderfully spectacular Wednesday! šŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 59 – Funny or Punny!

Another fun and busy Monday done! I hope that you all had a nice start to your week! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy but I did manage to get my newsletter finished and sent out! I also got the rest of my orders put in! Pretty productive day, love them! On the way home from the store I chatted with Sue, we caught each other up on our goings on! I had dinner with my Parent’s and then came home and worked on my card for today. At the store today I have to start to get ready for Thursday’s Watercolor 101 Class! The projectsĀ are in my head, just have to get them out!

The card that I created for today’s post is forĀ this week’s Stamp , Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 59

I had a little bit of a hard time, I don’t have very many funny stamp sets! I finally settled on a greeting and went from there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Cornflower and Soft Lilac added to the top and a little Cup O Joe added to the bottom with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The ice cream is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the Mini MISTI to stamp the ice cream in Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar and the cone in Soft Brown and Cup O Joe. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Cup O Joe onto one of two clouds that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Simple Puffy Clouds Lawn Cuts. The clouds, ice cream and cone are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner. Yes, it’s sort of a mean card but we have all dropped something or seen someone drop something and thought it was a little funny and I’m sure that phrase ran through your head! LOL! I hope that you liked and giggled at my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and have a laugh at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and let’s see what you come up with! Enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Hipster Wedding Congrats

So, I had a very nice day in Manhattan yesterday! I went and saw my friend Jim in the morning and got to meet his grandson Oliver. They are heading out to Montana to do some fishing today! That should be fun. From there I headed down to The Ink Pad where I got to see Brianna. We had a nice long chat and I browsed around the store. Such a fun place to be! After The Ink Pad I went and wandered around the city for a bit. I ended up having a really late lunch/early dinner of pizza at Zesty’s up on 94th and 3rd before heading back to the garage to get my car and make my way home. It only took me 35 minutes to get in in the morning but over 2 hours to get home! Oh, traffic! I acquired a really bad headache in the car and took a two hour nap when I did finally get home. Still had the headache after that so I went and made my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today Renee has the Scrap Happy Sisters at the store for a class and I wantĀ to get my last card for next month’s card class finished and my newsletter started!

Sometime cards just randomly pop into my head and that’s how today’s one came about. I stared off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Card that I adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The circle is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Orchids are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Vanilla and Soft Lilac using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame CutsĀ and adhered to the circle with E-Z Runner. The rest of the images are fromĀ the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Mason jar mugs in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto Vellum, the diamond in Gold, also on Vellum, and stamped the camera and mustache in Hero Arts Intense Black. All are cut out with the Coordinating Frame CutsĀ except for the diamond which I cut out with my Scissors. The mustache and diamond are adhered to the mugs with Dot Runner and then to the card with Foam Tape and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I cut it from Gold Mirror Card and adhered it to a piece of Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium and then to the card with the same. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Sparkling Clear and Charcoal Sequins finish off the card with a little extra shine! I love the mix of floral and masculine elements on the card! I think that it makes for fun and unexpected Wedding card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for sharing in my day! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! šŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 247

Oh, and a very happy Friday to you! What a nice day I had yesterday! Peeps stopped by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to get their orders and Renee had her wood home decor project class. They made a beach ball to replace the “o” in home. It’s a really cute project! Angie was at the store today too which is always fun! She is a bad influence as we had Wendy’s for lunch! After work I headed straight over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. She made me dinner, a nice salad, and we chatted about the day. After a while she decided that she needed to go to Walmart. I got an aromatherapy diffuser that was 19.88 but rang up $158.98! WHAT?! Someone keyed in that price wrong! After a discussion with the manager I got it for $19.88 (which really was the correct price) she was convinced that it was more! This morning I have a haircut with my Jessica and then it’s off to the store to work on the rest of my cards for this month’s card class. I finished one today and I love the way it came out! Oh, while I was at the store yesterday I decided to give freehand watercoloring a try and this is what I came up with…

Watercolor Feather

I’m pretty pleased with it! Can’t wait to do some more!

I made my card at the store again yesterday! This one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 247

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles Distress Ink and a Waterbrush to add color. After it was dry I heat embossed the leaves from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and then used the Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut it out. It’s adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. My flowers are from the same set and are stamped in Dark Quartz and Butter Bar, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the heart with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. TheĀ greeting is from the Love Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I die cut the loveĀ from a piece of Black 80lb and then coated it in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in more Copper Embossing Powder. Some more Dot Runner and Foam Tape adheres it to the card. It needed a little something so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and MarigoldĀ and SIP Copper Sequins. I love the usual mix of colors and the Copper Embossing makes a nice change from Gold, wouldn’t you say?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by to see what I have been up to! Have a fun-tastic Friday! šŸ™‚
