So how was Monday for you? Mine was rather productive! I love a productive day especially when it’s a Monday. The weather was little warmer here today but still very nice. Work was not too bad, again, pretty good for a Monday. I came home and had dinner with the ‘rents and then crafted for quite some time. I had mentioned that I have a bunch of projects to make and I put a pretty good dent in them last night. Makes me very happy! Tonight I will finish off the projects and then maybe tomorrow I will get to relax for a bit. That would be very nice indeed!

It’s Tuesday and that means there are some new Stampin’ Up! specials. Here are this week’s deals…

One of my projects from last night was my Mojo Monday sketch challenge card. Here is the sketch the lovely Julee Tilman has given us…

I used some unexpected DSP for my background. I love it when I look through a pack and get a nice surprise! My card starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper Pack*. It sort of reminds me of “Bewitched”! Next up is a piece of Basic Gray that is adhered somewhat in the middle of the card. My tag is a piece of Whisper White and I cut the top with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. I used a piece of Smoky Slate and the punch again along with the 1/2″ Circle punch to create the reinforcement. A piece of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay for the frame and a piece of Smoky Slate for the backing. Inside are three feathers from the Four Feathers Stamp Set* that I heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card stock and cut out with the Feathers Framelits*. I adhered them under the piece of Silver Foil Sheet that I flagged on both ends. A piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon is slipped under the circle and adhered to the inside of the card with Sticky Strip. My greeting is from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I love the colors together and the sheep of DSP from the Motley Monsters DSP is just so cool! So there is my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge, I hope that you enjoyed it! Happy Thursday! It rained a lot here on Tuesday night, some places got 13 inches in a few hours. There was a lot of flooding, I had a little puddle in front of my door inside but our poor friend Fred had a full 2 inches of water in his apartment. So many of the roads were flooded that some of my co-workers sat in their cars for over 3 hours waiting for them to get things moving. The news said that it was worse than Hurricane Sandy as far as the rain went. Weather is just really odd around here lately. Around 1:00PM the skies cleared up and the sun was out for the rest of the day. Hopefully it helped dry up some of the harder hit areas.

Now as for Andrew’s little post yesterday, I knew which one of the choices would be the most popular! LOL! I will tell you that the knee feels much better today, I can actually touch it. But if it’s not much better by Friday you may get your wish! LOL! Stay tuned!

I got a nice surprise in the mail today! When I was at Convention I went to Starbucks with my friend Eva and while we were there I bought a Salt Lake City mug. She asked if I collected them and I said yes. Well guess what my surprise was?! Here it is…

How cool is that?!?! Thank you so much Eva!! That was so sweet of you! I’ll bet that my coffee will taste much better tomorrow morning having it from my new Starbucks mug!! I just noticed that the hands on the Catalog look like they are holding the mug! Pretty neat! 🙂

Now off we go to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from the lovely Julee Tilman…

I don’t know what it is with me and shaker cards lately! I hadn’t made one in forever and now I have made about five! LOL! I did use some new goodies from the Holiday Catalog too, loving all of it! The base for today’s card is Smoky Slate Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of paper from the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper* Pack along the bottom and across the seam is a piece of the All is Calm Designer Washi Tape*. They are adhered to a piece of Lost Lagoon and that is adhered to the base with SNAIL. The frame is cut out from a piece of Smoky Slate, the window with the Squares Collection Framelits. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet behind the square and behind that is another piece of paper from the All is Calm DSP Pack. Before I put the shaker together I added some of the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins*. The snowflake on the window, the smaller one and the snow are all cut out with the Snowflake Card Thinlits* from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. A piece of Lost Lagoon is flagged on both ends and serves as the backdrop for the small snowflake and snow. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the shaker. I really love Lost Lagoon, I think it is my favorite blue ever and what better paper for snow that the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer?! Mojo 357 & More Pics!

I’m sad to report that yesterday was a typical Monday, busy, busy, busy! Work was treat! LOL! NOT! I came home and made some dinner for Taylor and I, rice and black beans with tomatoes, black olives, avocado and banana peppers. I put some Sriracha on mine too, yummy and simple! I needed to get into the Stampin’ Galley, I didn’t spend enough time in there over the weekend and I notice that I am little cranky when I don’t get enough creative time. I made four cards and felt much better after that! How was your Monday?!

Here are some more of the Manhattan pictures from Sunday. We went to a park by my friend Kim’s house called Carl Schurz Park. It’s where Gracie Mansion is. The park is long and narrow but it’s right on the East River and I got some good pictures of that!

Do you think of playing cards when you see the sketch?! I did! We don’t have any playing card related stamps though so I went in a completely different direction. My card begins with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock, my new favorite neutral! The background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss with a piece of Hello Honey that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The card on the left is a piece of paper from the Moonlight DSP Stack. On the right is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped my greeting from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I rounded the corners on both the DSP and greeting with the Project Life Corner Rounder and adhered them to the background. A strip of So Saffron that I stamped with the Draw the Line Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hello Honey goes across the middle. My flag is a piece of Perfect Plum. I made another one of the epoxy embellishments using the face from the Ray of Sunshine Stamp Set stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Hello Honey. I really love those epoxy embellishments, so easy and fun! Hello my peeps! It’s Thursday and that means just one more day to go! I have had a pretty good week so far let’s hope that it continues! I will be heading into Manhattan on Saturday, my friend Kim’s brother and sister will be in town! I’m looking forward to that! It’s been too long since I’ve been in the city. Yesterday was another beautiful day. It was in the upper 70’s with a slight breeze and plenty of sun! This is shaping up to be a great summer! I hope that the weather by you has been equally as nice! I came home last night and did some more organizing in the Stampin’ Galley and then had some quality crafty time! Always my favorite way to end the day!

The card I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and guess what?! It’s another tall and skinny!

I do love the tall and skinny cards! I need to start making some even when there is no sketch! LOL! My card today starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the feel and look of the paper, it really is just like old book paper. I flagged a strip of Gold Foil Sheet and a piece of Lost Lagoon to go down the left side. My circle is a piece of Vellum Card Stock and a frame of Basic Black that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. I do love a little vellum don’t I?! Next up is a strip of Gold Foil Sheet that I embossed with the “Vintage” Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, still one of my favorites! The greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Lost Lagoon. I punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The star is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I cut out with the Stars Framelits and I adhered a Basic Hodgepodge Clip with some Multi-Purpose Glue on top. Another Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place. I love the Lost Lagoon with the Basic Black and Gold and the Typeset DSP is just great! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Mojo 355 & Pals Paper Arts 212

Yesterday was definitely a long day but not bad at all. The weather was nice, a little humid compared to what I’m used to in Salt Lake City, but nice. It wasn’t a bad day to be outside and later on in the evening there was a nice breeze. The golf event ended earlier that I thought, 9:00PM, so that was good. I came home and Heather stopped by for a bit and then I made my two cards for today. I was up much later than I had planned to be, but that is usually the case with me! Someone said that maybe I was still on Utah time and then someone else mentioned that maybe I was on Sydney time. Come to think of it after the flights on the way out last week I felt like I should have been in Australia! LOL! Yes, today I have two cards for you again, I wanted to get my Pals Paper Arts card in before the deadline! Plus, I always feel better after a little crafty time!

Today’s post contains my cards for both Mojo Monday and Pals Paper Arts, We’ll take card of the Mojo Monday card first which is based on this sketch…

The card contains some more sneak peeks from the new Holiday Catalog! I know it’s a bit early to be thinking of the fall and Christmas but I love to play with some new goodies! To begin my card I used a base of Soft Suede Card Stock. My background is made up of a piece of Sahara Sand, I cut the right side with the Finishing Touches Edgelits,  then I embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and tucked a piece of Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper* underneath it on the right. The leaves and the greeting are from the For All Things Stamp Set* and are stamped in Old Olive, Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry for the leaves and Blackberry Bliss for the greeting. I cut it out with the Circles Collection Framelits and backed it with a piece of Blackberry Bliss cut out with the Starburst Framelits. The two flags are Mossy Meadow and Crushed Curry and a strip of adhesive cork takes the place of a piece of ribbon. The three acorns are also from the For All Things Stamp Set*. I stamped them in Soft Suede and cut them out with my Paper Snips. A few Stampin’ Dimensional pieces hold them in place. Like I said, I know it’s early but the stamps and DSP are just too much fun!

My second card for today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A nice simple sketch which is handy when you are making a card at midnight! Crumb Cake Card Stock is the base for the card and the background is a piece of Typeset Designer Series Paper backed by a piece of Cherry Cobbler. A strip of Brushed Gold Card Stock is punched with the Hearts Border Punch and backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler and adhered across the top. The images and greeting are from the Groovy Love Stamp Set and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler, then punched out with the Sweetheart Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Definitely a nice simple card but fun none the less! I hope that you enjoyed my late night cards for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and Pals Paper Arts sketch challenges. Only today and tomorrow left at work. It’s a good thing too because work was a little irritating today. Sometimes it’s nice to be appreciated for the things that you do that aren’t your job (which encompasses most of my day) and I do a lot of those. Needless to say today I had one of the unappreciated moments. Like I said, two days left! Luckily I didn’t have much going on last night so I was able to have my craft therapy for a good 3 hours! Heather stopped by around 10:00 for a bit and I was up way too late again, oh well! LOL! How is your week going?

One of the cards that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

That Julee Tilman comes up with some really great sketches! I used one of my favorite stamp sets from the new catalog, one of the images that I haven’t used yet! My card for today starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next up is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. The strip of paper going down the right is from the Back to Black Designer Series Paper Pack and I used some more Gold Foil Sheet that I punched with the Scallop Edge Punch along the right side. For the square I used the Squares Collection Framelits and my little marker trick with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker. I ran it though the Big Shot again with the Circles Collection Framelits to notch out the lower right corner. The flowers on the square and the greeting are from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set and are stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I punched the greeting out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and tucked it into the square. I like the way it lets what’s behind it peek through and the Back to Black DSP is great! I do hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and thank you very much for spending some time with me today! The best thing about today is that it’s Friday, well, actually as far as the week is concerned it’s Thursday but as the work week it’s my Friday! Work yesterday was really busy but I did get a lot accomplished. I came home and had some dinner and then ran over to the old apartment to get some more stuff. I have to have it all out of there by Friday, where I’m going to put it is another story! I need a storage unit, or to thin out some more stuff. I think I’ll go with the latter! I also had a nice long phone call with my friend Danielle, love when you can talk on the phone for 1 1/2 hours and there isn’t even a pause! Do you have any big plans for the 4th? It’s supposed to rain here, which Winston will be very happy about, he hates fireworks and it was like Beruit here last year. I might have plans and I might not, either way I’m good!

My craft therapy last night resulted in my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tilman…

Another tall & skinny sketch!! Yeah! Love them! My card begins with a base of Lost Lagoon Card Stock and the background is just a plain piece of Smoky Slate. The strip of paper is from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. I’m loving that Stack but as of tomorrow I have an order coming so I will have more options! Next up is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My star is from the Be the Star Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon and cut out with the Stars Framelits. For the greeting I used the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set, again stamped in Lost Lagoon and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. Before I popped it out I ran my Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Marker around the inside. I think it gives it a nice border. Finally I cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Stars Framelits and punched the center out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the card. My favorite part of today’s card is the circle around the greeting, simple yet effective. I can;t believe I never thought to do it before! Happy Tuesday, folks! Monday turned out to be a very productive day. I got quite a few things accomplished at work which is always a good way to start off the week. More importantly, I got a lot accomplished at home! I managed to pack 5 more boxes in the living room and then the amazing Andrew came by and we tackled the closet. Six full black garbage bags later, it seems much more manageable. LOL! We were good, we put the top down in the convertible, threw the bags in the back and took them to the drop-off box to donate them. Tomorrow, Andrew will be moving stuff for me while I’m at work which I’m very excited about. LOL! It’s definitely the way moving should be done! Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain on Saturday otherwise I will be a very unhappy camper.

Before I started packing last night, I sat down and made my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I was looking around at my recent cards and realized I’ve used Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey far too much. So to mix it up today, I threw some Lost Lagoon in there. The base of my card is Smoky Slate Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack on the left and some Basic Gray that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next up is a piece of Silver Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Starburst Framelits. Across the middle of the card is a piece of Hello Honey that I flagged on both ends and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Whisper White cut to 1 5/8″ wide, I marked the center on the back and slid it in the Angled Tag Topper Punch, a skinnier version of the standard tag. The background on it is created with the Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Sky. My greeting is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon. A piece of White Bakers Twine is looped through the hole in the top. The star is a piece of Smoky Slate that I cut out with the Stars Framelits. I like the way the DSP, Embossing Folder and background on the tag all coordinate so well. I’m also a big fan of the interesting color combination and this would make a good masculine birthday card. Mojo 350 & Pics!

Off we go into what is going to be a busy weekend. I have some more painting and packing to do today and tomorrow, I want to get as much little stuff moved as possible before next weekend. Last night we had the fundraiser for the TAPA school at the firehouse. It was a great evening filled with music, raffles and dessert. Satellite Lane performed along with two other A Cappella groups. We had a great time and raised some money for a good cause. Lots of my peeps were there too which made it even better. Here are some group selfies from last night!

Now for the crafty stuff. My post today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. The sketch this week’ is provided by Julee Tilman…

I really like the Tap, Tap, Tap Stamp Set and wanted to see what other things I could combine with it. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Pool Party that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp In Baked Brown Sugar. My two panels on either side are So Saffron stamped with the Backgrounds Rule Stamp also inked in Baked Brown Sugar and backed with Baked Brown Sugar. For the circle  in the middle I took a piece of So Saffron and cut it out with the Striped Scallop Thinlit, adhered it to some Baked Brown Sugar and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut it and a piece of Pool Party out for the backing. The notebook paper and greeting are from the Tap, Tap, Tap Stamp Set and are stamped in Pool Party and Memento Tuxedo Black. My star comes from the Be the Star Stamp Set and is stamped in So Saffron and cut out with the Stars Framelits. A piece of of Pool Party is punched out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to go in the middle. All of the elements are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A quirky fun card that uses lots of different elements that I think come together nicely. Mojo 349 & More Pics!

Well, it was a true Monday yesterday. It pretty much rained all day and is supposed to for the rest of the week. After the beautiful weekend that we had there really is no reason to complain though! Work was work, not much exciting to report there. After work I had some dinner and then came home and made my card for today. I went to Sandy’s for her new catalog launch. It’s always fun to see everyone and catch up. The rest of the evening was uneventful, which can also be a good thing! As promised I have some more of the pictures from Sunday to share with you today!

Before we left Brooklyn we found this large area where you could play basketball and all kinds of other sports. As we walked through we found one of my favorite things in the world, a swing set! The best part was it was big enough for adults!

I used a lot of different colors, all of which are in the new All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. My card begins with a base of Mossy Meadow Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Pistachio Pudding with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using the Texture Boutique. The strip of paper across the bottom is a piece from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack. Following the sketch there are two diagonal strips of Daffodil Delight and a strip of Mossy Meadow on the left. My flower and leaves are from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flower is stamped in Blushing Bride for the base, Strawberry Slush for the next layer and finally Daffodil Delight for the center. The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow and they are all cut out using the Flower Fair Framelits. My greeting comes from the Let Your Hair Down Host(ess) Stamp Set and is also stamped in Mossy Meadow. To finish off the card I glued three of the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins on the left. I’m loving the colors and the Flower Patch stamps give such nice crisp images and the Framelits make them super easy to cut out. I also like the layering!
