Mojo 352

The best thing about today is that it’s Friday, well, actually as far as the week is concerned it’s Thursday but as the work week it’s my Friday! Work yesterday was really busy but I did get a lot accomplished. I came home and had some dinner and then ran over to the old apartment to get some more stuff. I have to have it all out of there by Friday, where I’m going to put it is another story! I need a storage unit, or to thin out some more stuff. I think I’ll go with the latter! I also had a nice long phone call with my friend Danielle, love when you can talk on the phone for 1 1/2 hours and there isn’t even a pause! Do you have any big plans for the 4th? It’s supposed to rain here, which Winston will be very happy about, he hates fireworks and it was like Beruit here last year. I might have plans and I might not, either way I’m good!

My craft therapy last night resulted in my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tilman…

Another tall & skinny sketch!! Yeah! Love them! My card begins with a base of Lost Lagoon Card Stock and the background is just a plain piece of Smoky Slate. The strip of paper is from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. I’m loving that Stack but as of tomorrow I have an order coming so I will have more options! Next up is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My star is from the Be the Star Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon and cut out with the Stars Framelits. For the greeting I used the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set, again stamped in Lost Lagoon and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. Before I popped it out I ran my Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Marker around the inside. I think it gives it a nice border. Finally I cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Stars Framelits and punched the center out with the star from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the card. My favorite part of today’s card is the circle around the greeting, simple yet effective. I can;t believe I never thought to do it before! I hope that you enjoyed my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch. I always appreciate your visits and love reading your comments. Sorry I have been replying so late in the day! Thank you! Have a great Thursday! 🙂

  1. Like the Alphabet Press EF in the background on your card . I don`t see that folder used much and I like how you used it . The grid paper also adds to it …of course that was you intention ,wasn`t it ? And speaking of fireworks …I think there will be a large lack of on the East Coast because of Arthur ! Last ,but not least …I like Julee Tillman`s sketches for Mojo Monday !

    1. Thank you Sonny! I love that folder and yes, it’s very underused. Yes, I love the way the grid paper looks with it! I am sad to say that I am hoping there will be a lack of fireworks in the neighborhoods, just for Winston’s sake. I love Julee Tilman’s sketches too!! 🙂

  2. What a cool tip about using our markers around the sentiment (or anything else) before popping the frame lit off!!! This is a tool tip that I will use all the time instead of trying to find a colored card stock piece to back my die cut images with. VERY cool! Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks Celia! It was totally an ah ha moment! LOL! It gives just the right amount of border. I hope that you have a great weekend too! 🙂

  3. Good “Friday” Morning Justin! Love your star bling and that it can be created with the small star framelit and the new little star punch! Thanks for your tip on marking inside of a framelit BEFORE removing the image!! The circle border matches perfectly with the thin border on the stamped star! Good luck on purging more items as you move your final possessions from the old apartment! Have a wonderful three day weekend!

    1. LOL! It was a good Friday! I got a lot accomplished all around! The card was fun to make and I’m glad that you liked the “extras”! I am definitely purging and it feels good. Andrew is a very good motivator! I hope that your long weekend is fantastic! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin! LOVE your card and LOVE the tip with the marker! Never would have thought of that. That’s why I love your blog, you not only inspire me but give me great ideas! Thank you! 😉 Enjoy your day off tomorrow and maybe you can get a little rest from all the moving. Hope so. We are having gorgeous weather here, in fact, it was 52 degrees this morning. Sunny and in the high 70’s. I’ll send it your way! Have a great day!

    1. Hello Kare!
Thank you so much! You always put a big smile on my face with your comments! You inspire me all the time! I am going to be finishing up the move, getting the last of the stiff from the old place and filling some more trash bags! Saturday or Sunday will be my rest day. I would love for you to send the weather this way, it has been a little hot and humid and we have had rain the past two nights. I hope that you had a wonderful day! 🙂

  6. Justin, Great card! Every time you use a stamp set that I don’t have, I want to order it immediately. I’ve been trying to hold off on the star but I think I need it now. Great tip on the outline of the framelit. It looks awesome!

    1. Thank you Gerri! That makes me feel wonderful that after I use something you want it! The stars are so great! Who doesn’t love a star! 🙂
