Hello my crafty peeps! How is your week going so far? Mine is not too bad, work was filled with meetings today. Not my favorite I will admit. After work I ran some errands and relaxed for a bit. The fog rolled in again last night, we have had a lot of fog lately but is seems to be gone this morning. It’s supposed to rain here today and we might get some snow on Saturday. I really am finished with winter! I think I need to have a fundraiser so I can head on over to Oz to see some of my peeps over there! It’s summertime right?!?! 🙂

On a Stampin’ Up! related note while we were at Leadership we got a sneak peek at the next two Paper Pumpkin Kits. The ones for February and March and let me tell you they are amazing! My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This time around Theresa Kline has given us a very simple sketch…

Soft Sky Card Stock was my choice of a base color today. Since it is a simple sketch, I decided to use a bold background – a piece of Designer Series Paper from the High Tide Designer Series Paper Pack. Above that is another piece from the same DSP pack that is backed with a piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock. The greeting is from the Hello, Sailor Stamp Set and is stamped in Pacific Point. I backed the Whisper White with another piece of Soft Sky and popped it up with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very simple card that would work really well for a masculine birthday, and it’s highly mailable too! It’s always nice to have you stop by and see what I’m up to. Don’t panic… you’re in the right place! LOL! I decided it was time to change up the blog. I had the last one for quite some time and I thought it could use a refresh. I went with a cleaner and simpler design this time around. It was all done in MDS and I figured it would be easy for me to change the colors of the feathers if I get bored again. You’ll have to let me know what you think; as always, your input is valued. Yesterday was my last day of work for a week and it was actually a pretty good day! The weather here started out at 56 degrees yesterday morning and this morning is a balmy 7. So looking forward to my flight to Houston tomorrow. In other news, airlines cancelled a bunch of flights again today. Keep your fingers crossed that mine goes off without a hitch! By the way, I didn’t forget about my little scavenger hunt contest from last week where I asked you to tell me what “Vintage” Designer Series Paper I used. My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Julee Tilman has given us a simple sketch this week…

For my card base I used Smoky Slate Card Stock. The strip of Designer Series Paper down the left side is from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper Pack. The main panel is a piece of Whisper White backed with a piece of Basic Black and peeking out from underneath is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies. My stamped images are from the Geometrical Stamp Set. The triangles are stamped in Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray and the greeting is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I used the Triangle Punch for the four triangles and the Chevron Border Punch was used to punch out the black chevrons. All of them are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do like the colors in the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper, they’re a bunch of colors that I normally wouldn’t think to put together, I love when they do that! Mojo 326 & Sneak Peek

Well, that was pretty good day for the 1st of a New Year. I got some projects done in the morning and had some wings for dinner with Andrew. I’m trying to get all of my stuff done before Wednesday so I have some posts ready to make my trip to Leadership a little less hectic. Less than a week to go, people! This weekend will be crunch time for sure and panic will probably set in around Monday. LOL!

My card for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge provided by the lovely Julee Tilman…

The card starts off with a base of Gumball Green Card Stock and the background is a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper*. The strip of Tangerine Tango is embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For extra stability, I backed the DSP with a piece of Card Stock and adhered the Gold Sequin Trim around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is a piece of Gumball Green and I adhered the hexagons that were cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* to it. My greeting is from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. Two “Vintage” 3/16″ Metallic Brads are adhered to the left of the greeting. A nice, bright, cheerful card to ward off the snowstorm we’re supposed to get later! I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Mojo 325 & Sneak Peek

Happy Christmas Eve! I guess I’d better get to my shopping at some point today! LOL! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Work was blissful yesterday, there wasn’t much going on and it was quite desolate! Love it when it’s like that! My friend Andrew is having eye surgery this morning so if you would keep him in your thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week the clever Theresa Kline has given us a nice simple one…

I was inspired by Mary Fish’s card that she has done for the sketch. I really like the piece missing out of the background. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I took a piece of Coastal Cabana and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the circle from the lower left. After that I embossed it with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Starburst Saying Stamp Set* and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and cut out with the Starburst Framelits*. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to card. The strip across the top is a piece of Whisper White that I covered with some Retro Fresh This & That Designer Washi Tape* and that too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A simple but fun and colorful card. I really do like the starburst goodies a lot, can you tell! LOL! Mojo 324 & Sneak Peeks

It was another extremely frigid day here but thankfully it was the last one we’ll have for a while. It’s going to be in the 40’s tomorrow and it will get up to 60 on Sunday. Yay! Work was nice today, I even had time to clean up my emails. My boss took a half day and I ran to the post office and mailed my Christmas cards. I came home, got my blog projects done for tomorrow’s Control Freaks Blog Tour and watched The Sing-Off (again, thanks, Andrew!). All of the groups were actually really good tonight. My favorites got through!

Today I have what would have been my usual Tuesday post, my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I used some of the new Sale-A-Bration products on my card for your viewing pleasure. The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. My background is a piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper** backed by a piece of Summer Starfruit. The larger strip across the bottom is Crisp Cantaloupe stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Crisp Cantaloupe. My greeting is stamped in Pistachio Pudding and is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. The three flags across the top are from the Banner Blast Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used the coordinating Banner Punch** to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them at the top. I wouldn’t normally use a bold piece of Designer Series Paper that large but I kind of think it looks funky and I like it. Mojo 323 & Sneak Peek

Work was… dare I say… pleasant?! I did have to take a little 30 mile ride to East Setauket for a little media set up, but again, out of the office is always a good thing! It was rainy and cold here all day yesterday and we are supposed to get some snow here today. Ugh, that’s all I’ll say about that. I had my crafty time so that makes everything better! Love playing with new goodies!

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge provided by Julee Tilman…

I used some new goodies from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog and some from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock. My strip of paper on the left is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand for extra stability and wrapped some Linen Thread around it before adhering it to the base. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies* is the first layer for my stamped images. Next up is a piece of Whisper White that I punch out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. All of the stamped images are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Circle Punches to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Sahara Sand and cut out with the Word Bubble Framelits Dies*. Thankfully, only one more day left until my Friday! Yes, it will be an early one but it will still be Friday! I got my box of pre-order goodies yesterday and I spent some quality time in the craft area last night. So much fun new stuff! I made a card which I will post tomorrow from one of my favorite new stamp sets and coordinating framelits. I still have some stamp sets to mount and a lot of organizing to do but it’s all good! Have you seen the new catalog? What are you most excited about?!

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge which is provided by Julee Tilman…

I decided to make a traditional card today. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Old Olive which is embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Layered on top of that is a piece of Season of Style Designer Series Paper which is backed with another piece of Cherry Cobbler. Across the middle is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and adhered around the back is some Cherry Cobbler 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon. Next up is the greeting which is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive, cut out with the Deco Label Collection Framelits and backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the same Framelits. A traditional Christmas card is not an every day occurrence on my blog and I hope you enjoyed it. I really like the way the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder strangely compliments the DSP. As you know, I’m always happy to have a visit from you! Here’s to a wonderful Thursday (and a quick one so we can get to Friday)!! 🙂

Well, my boss had the best time in Israel! I haven’t seen her that excited or passionate ever! She told us all about her trip and how it was the best experience of her life. I was so happy! I keep telling her that there is more to life than work, I think she sees that now. The rest of the day was business as usual and I had a nice relaxing night when I got home. I crafted and then I sped through the American Music Awards on the DVR. Speaking of music has anyone heard Lorde’s version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World from the new Hunger Games Soundtrack? It’s amazing, so haunting and menacing, I love it!

Now for today’s card and the inspiration comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tilman…

Round or square… we won’t even talk about that! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack with a piece of Pool Party across the middle. For the square and the rectangle I used some Island Indigo and Smoky Slate Textured Card Stock both backed with some Silver Foil Sheet. My greeting is from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed with some more Island Indigo Textured Card Stock. The image under that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin Dimensionals hold it to the card. I think the unexpected floral image with the Cherry Cobbler greeting gives the card a little unexpected pop. It was quite chilly again here today and is just going to get colder. Winter has finally arrived just in time for the Holiday’s. Who invited it again?! LOL! One more day until the week is done, always makes me smile! I’ll be in Manhattan on Saturday, it’s supposed to rain in the morning but hopefully it will clear up so I can go for a little stroll. Sunday will be a crafty day, lots to do!

My inspiration for today’s post is this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the clever Julee Tilman provides us with this sketch…

This has been a little bit of a “Vintage” week so I figured I would continue on with the trend! My card starts off with a base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. The panel of paper is from the “Vintage” Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from this year’s Spring Catalog. Next up is a piece of Summer Starfruit that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My image is from the Crazy, Mixed Up Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals on Vellum Card Stock and Very Vanilla. I cut them both out with my Paper Snips and adhered just the top and bottom of the one stamped on the Very Vanilla to the Vellum piece. It makes a great way to hide the Stampin’ Dimensionals that I used to adhere it to the Very Vanilla base backed with some Primrose Petals. Before I adhered all of that to the card I used some Sticky Strip to fix the Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. A piece is tied to the ribbon and the greeting is adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m loving the way the lava lamp looks stamped on the Vellum and the colors are fun too! Made it through another Monday. Work was a little crazy today because it was my boss’ last day for ten days, she’s off to Israel. The part that made me the most jealous was the flight, she will be first class on the second story of a 747! And I’m sad to say that I will miss her. The weather today is supposed to be rainy and snowy, hopefully less of the latter. How’s everything going in your neck of the woods?

My inspiration for today’s card comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch provided by Julee Tilman…

I have been wanting to use the Santa image from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set for a while. If you remember, I had a little bit of an obsession last year with an image from the Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Old Olive. In the middle is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My large circle is a piece of Old Olive that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and another piece of paper from Season of Style DSP Stack that I cut out with the very “Vintage” Circle Scissor. Next up are two flags, one Baked Brown Sugar and one Whisper White that I stamped the greeting on from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. Finally, we have the image of St. Nick from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set. I stamped him in Jet Black Staz-On Ink and used my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Blushing Bride and Blush Blossom Stampin’ Write Markers. He is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and backed with another circle cut out from Cherry Cobbler with the Circles Collection Framelits. It really is a great Santa image and I’m still loving the Endless Wishes Photo Polymer Set. As always, I appreciate you stopping by to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch challenge.
