Mojo 295 & Sneak Peek

Holiday Monday morning! It’s a beautiful day here on Long Island, sunny and not too hot. There are parades and BBQ’s scheduled for today, lots of fun for a Monday! I’m off to watch the munchkins for a little while then some crafting and outside time! What are you all doing today? Some people, like my friend Julie, have to work but most have off. Hopefully there is fun ahead in your day!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 295, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

A nice simple sketch indeed! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a plain piece of Daffodil Delight for the background. The lower piece of paper is from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Pack and the other is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. I choose the greeting from the Word Play Stamp Set, trying to get a little more use out if before it becomes “Vintage”! It’s stamped in Island Indigo and backed with some Strawberry Slush*. The flag is stamped with an image from the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set*. I finally played with some of the new Simply Pressed Clay Buttons & Blossoms Moulds* and Simply Pressed Clay* yesterday. After some trial and error I find that putting them in the freezer for about and hour and removing them to dry works better than leaving them in the whole time. I used my Aqua Painter and some Pool Party Ink to color it. I really like the ability to make the clay any color that you like and it’s so nice and lightweight that mailing it should be no problem. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Mojo 294

I’m a little happier than usual today and we all know why… it’s Friday! Three day weekend Friday! I have a serious amount of crafting to get done this weekend and it’s just as well seeing as it’s supposed to rain through to Sunday. What are you all up to this weekend? I had dinner in Manhattan last night and it worked out great. It didn’t rain until we got to the restaurant and it had stopped by the time we left. We also stopped in Brooklyn to see my friend Brian on the way home. All in all, a great evening!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 294, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Some Photopolymer and Paper Pumpkin helped out with this card. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the paper is from the Epic Day this & That Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit for the piece of Calypso Coral along the bottom and across the top is some Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon. The greeting and the dots are from the Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets and the Thank You is from the Essentials Stamp Set. For the three arrows and the flag I used the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets. The flag is in a Soda Pop Top, boy am I going to miss them! I think the Photopolymer sets make great additions to any card and the Paper Pumpkin stamps are great for so much too. Mojo 293 & Sneak Peek

Why are Monday’s always so difficult?! Let me tell you that a three day weekend makes them even harder! Oh, and it felt like fall here again today. What is up with that?! Yoo hoo… Mother Nature, we are supposed to be getting warmer now thanks! I saw that someone said they had snow yesterday! Yikes!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

I have to say that so far out of all of the new stuff I’m thinking that the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* is my favorite! It has some great colors and I love the vintage graphic feel to it. The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the background is Very Vanilla stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on some Early Espresso on top of that. The piece of Summer Starfruit and the Island Indigo Circle are pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the flags are made using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The circle of Designer Series Paper is Soho Subway* and the greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Punch*. I made my “bow” with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and the 1/2″ Circle Punch. With a Soda Pop Top in the middle and the No. 1 from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* it completes the card. I managed to use the Postage Collection Stamp Set again and I’m a little bummed that the Soda Pop Tops didn’t carry over. What are you going to miss? Hey there and happy Monday?! Nah, Monday is rarely happy. How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good considering I worked on Saturday. I had a nice day yesterday, I got some crafting in, went to see some friends and spent some time outside in the beautiful weather. What were you all up to this weekend, hopefully some good fun happenings! I did get up a little early this morning so I decided to make my Mojo Monday card. If I made the card and wrote the blog post you know it was really early!

Today’s post – Mojo 292, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

As soon as I saw the sketch I though of the Epic Day This and That DSP! The base of my card is Pool Party and I used the soon to be retiring Color Spritzer Tool to spritz some Pool Party ink on it. The pieces of paper are from the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper and on the one I used the “Vintage” Spiral Notebook Border Punch. The flags and the scallop across the middle are all Basic Gray. For the greeting I used the Label Love Stamp Set*, stamped in Gumball Green, and the Artisan Label Punch* with some Stampin’ Dimensionals for some pop. Mojo 291 & Sneak Peek

Morning and welcome to thank god Monday is over! That was not the best day in recent memory. It was a little dreary here and rained a little on and off all day. The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe* that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, no tabs. The paper is from the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper Pack* which I am loving! Some Early Espresso and Soft Sky cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits and one paper-pierced are up next. Mojo 290

Well, I see we all made through Monday in one piece, and that’s always a good thing! My Monday was on the quiet side, how about you? So tomorrow holds a little excitement for us Stampin’ Up! Demos, we get to see the brand new 2013-2014 Catalog! It promises to be amazing as always with some old and some new goodies to help us express our creativity and Make Something that Means Something! I can’t wait!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 290, a sketch from Carole Burrage…

I wanted a simple card with a nice focal point of stamping. The base of my card is Primrose Petals and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla. The bottom half has some paper from the More Amore Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flowers are Two-Step Stamped in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple and the leaves in Gumball Green and Garden Green. I used my Simply Scored to create the lines and rubbed some Crumb Cake on them to give them some definition. Some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and I fussy cut a set of the leaves and used a Naturals Designer Button with some Linen Thread on top. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I hope you enjoyed your little visit with my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card. Hey! That was not a bad Monday as far as Monday’s go, how was your’s? I didn’t do much else besides some crafting last night, I have a ton of projects to get finished. I did get some very exciting news yesterday though. I got an email from Stampin’ Up! letting me know that I have been selected to be a Display Stamper at the 2013 Convention! I can’t even contain my excitement! My projects up on the boards for all to see! I’m a little nervous, they will have to be great projects. Wish me luck!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch 289…

The base of my card is Crumb Cake and the background is a piece of Daffodil Delight stamped in Daffodil Delight with the Netting Background Stamp. The paper is from the This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper Pack. I used three different patterns. The stamped image and greeting are from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and are stamped in Calypso Coral and Gumball Green. A Soda Pop Top has a piece of Adhesive Cork Sheet and Large Basic Rhinestone inside. Some Basic Jewels Rhinestones and Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon finish off the card. Hey there! How was Monday? Mine was, well to be kind, not my favorite. Work is extremely busy and it doesn’t show any signs of letting up. I am so happy when I come home and sit down at the craft desk. I get to forget about all of the misery of the day and focus on being creative. It’s the perfect end to a hectic day. When do you do your crafting? I also like to rummage through my supplies from time to time. When I do I inevitably find something that I completely forgot about. Last night was no exception. In amongst the Designer Series Paper was my Boutique Boxes Designer Kit. I think I need to spend a little time going through more and finding little surprises!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday 288 – Sketch Challenge from Sarah Bigelow…

The card base is Basic Gray and the background is Sahara Sand embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the elements are from the Boutique Boxes Designer Kit except the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape. The greeting is from the coordinating A Little Greeting Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. I really am digging the feathers and the Washi Tape! Hello and good day to you all! I hope that your Monday was good. Mine, busy and that’s all I’ll say! I got my This and That Epic Day Bundle yesterday. I also wanted to let you know that the April Best of Stamp Set is available and it’s my mum’s favorite… Best of Butterflies. The image below shows the stamps and you can click here for a PDF. It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This time around we have an interesting sketch from Julee Tilman…

Since I got my This and That Bundle today I had to play! The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The background is a piece of Pool Party that I stamped with the Netting Background Stamp in Crumb Cake and then sponged some Crumb Cake over it. The Tea Lace Paper Doily is spritzed with some Early Espresso Ink from my Stampin’ Spritzer and some more Crumb Cake is sponged on too. A piece of Calypso Coral is cut out with the Petal Cone Bigz L Die and yes, sponged with still more Crumb Cake. The two pieces of paper are form the This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper Pack. I backed both of them with some Very Vanilla to make them a little more sturdy. I do that when I am using Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount DSP to a card. On the top piece I rounded the corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. Three 3/16″ Metallic Brads are in the upper left corner. I used the new Remember This and That Rotary Stamp to stamp the date on the bottom in Basic Gray. The stamped image is form the A Round Array Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party, punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, and yes, sponged with more Crumb Cake. I punched a piece of Crumb Cake with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch to back it. The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool supply the pierced edge. They are mounted to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and also hold the piece of Calypso Coral that is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and, well you know! I really do love the new This and That products, they have some great colors and fun distressed looks to them. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Hey there, how are you today? Things are ok here. Would you believe that it snowed again today, just for a little bit, but it snowed! It was overcast and rainy all day. I am so ready for warm weather. Is it just me or does this winter seem exceptionally long? Oh Mother Nature… whatever we did to make you mad I apologize, can we have some warm now… please?!

It’s Tuesday so today I have my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for you. This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

Hmm… I think square! LOL! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the background is just a plain piece of Sahara Sand. The flag is a piece of paper from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Pack (now vintage!). The band across the middle is piece of Sahara Sand that I embossed with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed it with a piece of Island Indigo. The scallop across the bottom is made by punching some of the stamped images, stamped in Island Indigo, from the A Round Array Stamp Set that is a peek set form the 2013-2014 Catalog! You can order it early, pretty neat huh?! They are adhered to the back of the band with SNAIL and the band to the base with the same. The greeting is also from the A Round Array Stamp Set, stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Island Indigo that I punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. I used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. The stamped image is then adhered to it with SNAIL and to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I think the A Round Array set is nice and versatile and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us! I hope that you enjoyed my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card.
