Mojo Monday 412

So, another weekend done. It was Michael’s last weekend here, he goes home on Saturday. I have had the best time with him this summer! It is going to very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it won’t be for too long. There are a lot of people rooting for him to come back ASAP! It’s also my last week at work for a while. As of Friday I’m on vacation until September 21st! I have Sunday and Monday to pack and then I’m off to London with my friend Brian for two weeks. I will be blogging but not a card every day. I’ll be sharing pictures and tales of my travels. Hopefully you will come along with me on my trip!

The start of another week and it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo412

I wanted to do something a little different, play with color a little bit. The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. That large cool globe is the Tim Holtz Globe Die cut from Cucumber Crush and backed with a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The tag is cut from a piece of Crumb Cake using the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Framelits and Stamps. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord thorough the hole before adhering it to a strip of Vellum with Fun Foam and SNAIL. That is then adhered to the card with more SNAIL hidden behind the tag. A Red Glimmer Paper heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered to the corner of the tag with Foam Tape. I love the subtle neutrals with the pop of the Cucumber Crush and Pacific Point, it really makes the globe stand out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 411

Hi there and welcome to the start of another week! I had another super weekend! Yesterday was fun at The Ink Pad with Michael as always and met up with Kim for dinner before heading home. We went to China Fun for dinner and while it was good I don’t think that I will go there again, stomach issues! LOL! The ride home was not too bad and we stopped by Sue’s before heading back to my place. I dropped Michael off at Scrap-A-Latte this morning, he’ll be there all day working and giving another one of his very popular baby book classes. Later on we are going to meet Andrew and his girlfriend for dinner, that should be fun!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

Mojo411

I used some fun new stuff that I found at The Ink Pad yesterday to make today’s card. The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of Real Red. Two strips of Basic Black go across the card on a diagonal and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to give them the neat cross-stitch look. Next up is a panel of Daffodil Delight that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lantern is cut out from a piece of Real Red using the Marilyn Robertson Kimono Lanterns Die and adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with the matching Heartfelt Wishes Creative Cuts Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Vellum and the the Vellum to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Three birds from the Lanterns die set are cut out from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered with Foam Tape. I love that lantern die, so cool and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

WFC Subway Station

The Dey Street Passage from Chambers Street Subway Station.

WFC Subway Station Ceiling

The ceiling in the new Fulton Street Center.

WFC Subway Station Mezzanine

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo410

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Go and check out the blog for some more inspiration, we’d love to see your card in the gallery! Thank you once again for sharing in my days and I wish you a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 409

Seeing as I got such a late start yesterday there isn’t much to report on today. I had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I made a few cards and watched Now You See Me for like the fourth time. Sometimes even I need a “veg” day! I managed to get the laundry done and straighten up a bit too so it wasn’t a total day of nothing but it did contain enough nothing to make me happy!

While Monday’s aren’t my favorite day of the week it does mean that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch and I do love those…

Mojo409

I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets along with some paper that I got whole I was in Lancaster that I think goes great with it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 #HS01060 (no name?!) Paper Pad. I stamped the notebook sheet using the Clearly Besotted Just a Note Photopolymer Stamp in Mint Macaroon. The greeting and flower along with the leaves are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Blushing Bride, the leaves in Mint Macaroon and the flower is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Vellum. The leaves and the flower are cut out with the coordinating dies. I flagged a strip of Blushing Bride and adhered that to the notebook layer. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flower with 2-Way Glue. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots complete the card. I love the colors in the paper and I think they go so well with Mint Macaroon and Blushing Bride! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for checking in with me today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 408 and More Manhattan!

Well, I had THE best 4 days off! My weekend was fantastic! Yesterday morning Maggie said our goodbyes to Kim and Maggie and headed downtown to have breakfast with Michael. Around 12:30 I walked Maggie to the Subway so she could get to JFK for her flight back to Cali. It was so nice to have Maggie here with me, love her to pieces. She is so happy and funny and I’m glad that she got to meet Michael and Kim! I can’t wait for her to come back!! It was also a lot of fun working at The Ink Pad with Michael. So many people from different countries stop in. We met a sweet lady from France who gave us some really cool tags that she used as business cards! After we closed the store we took a nice long walk along the Hudson and watched all of the boats and people. So relaxing and it was a gorgeous evening. I dropped Michael off in Midtown and then headed home. I really didn’t want to weekend to end! As promised here are some pictures that I took from the High-Line yesterday. It was an amazing sunset!

Albert High-Line

Albert Einstein on the side of a building, now that’s just cool!

One good thing about Monday’s, it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo408

Oh how I love a tall & skinny! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the lower half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes dies along the top and bottom. My main panel is a piece of Basic Black that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with another piece of Typeset DSP on top. I adhered a sliver of Basic Black along the bottom and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The neat cup is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the succulent in Pear Pizzaz. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I say it all the time but I really do love the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Kits! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Mojo Monday 407

Seeing the weekend end is such a bummer! I did have another absolutely fantastic weekend so no complaining! Saturday in Manhattan with Michael and friends at The Ink Pad and then a nice lazy Sunday morning. After a late breakfast with Heather Michael and I worked on some projects and he made two cards and did a post! You have to go and take a look and see what he made by stopping by his BLOG! Around 3:00 we headed out to Michaels and then stopped for some pizza for lunch before taking a little trip over to see my friend Chantal. It has been way too long since I have seen her! We had a nice chat and then stopped back at my house before going to Long Beach. I forget how nice it is to go to the beach and just walk along the ocean and that’s just what we did. Here are a few pictures…

Long Beach 2

Michael and I Long Beach 7-2015

A very nice way to end a great weekend!

But Monday’s are pretty good too because that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo407

I got a new toy over the weekend and was dying to try it out! My card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad on the lower half and across the top of that is a piece of Real Red. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the Real Red. The lifesaver and the sailboat are also from the same stamp set and are also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copic Markers to color them in and then cut them out with my Paper Snips. My shaker pocket is created using a stamp pocket from Simon Says Stamp and the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool. I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins and then adhered the lifesaver and the Smoky Slate half circle to the pocket. Some SNAIL and Fun Foam then holds the pocket to the card. A little Foam Tape adheres the sailboat to the half circle and a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars are randomly adhered with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Fuse Tool, especially for creating a fun and easy shaker pocket! I’m also having fun playing with the Copic Markers, I still have a long way to go with my coloring however! I really hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Be sure and stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Teams cards too! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me and share in some of my day! I really do appreciate you stopping by and I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

A quiet Sunday, necessary I guess. I did run over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off two of the cards for this week’s class. I had to pick out some different paper for the other two, I didn’t like the original ones that I choose. Other than that I just worked on projects, did laundry and watched a little TV. I really do find it hard to do nothing by myself, odd huh? This week at work should be loads of fun said no one ever! Hopefully it will be a quick one!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo406

I got stuck on the greeting and that is how the rest of today’s card came into being! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate and Basic Gray that are adhered to a piece of White. I heat embossed the Hero Arts with Studio Calico Tiny Star Background Stamp with some White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. The patterned paper is from the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection Paper Pad and is backed with some Neenah Solar White 80lb. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Basic Black. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die for my embellishment. I love all of the stars and I didn’t realize that the patterned paper and the background stamp are coordinated until I typed this post! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. It would be great to see your card in the gallery so stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards! Well, that was the best weekend I have had in a long time! Saturday in Manhattan then a BBQ and nice lazy Sunday with Michael watching movies and having Chinese food. Doesn’t get much better than that! I find it very difficult to just be and it was nice to get to do that for a change! I also received the replacement parts to fix the stereo in the Saab so I’ll see if I can get to that later on today. I hope that you all had a great weekend too!

It’s time once again for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo405

Another great sketch as usual! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock. The base layer of the background is made up of a piece of Chocolate Chip on the bottom and some “Vintage” Crisp Cantaloupe on top. The panel in the middle is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Paper Pad backed with a piece of “Vintage” Coastal Cabana. My diagonal piece is Pumpkin Pie and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. For the greeting I used the Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Photopolymer Stamp Set for the stitched circle that is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and the Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set for the greeting, that’s stamped in Blushing Bride. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut it out and it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Pumpkin Sequins are added to give the card a little sparkle. I love the stitched circle stamp, especially paired with the stitched circle dies! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Happy Monday! I had a nice fantastic weekend! Saturday in Manhattan and then some quality time cleaning the car yesterday. I finished off the evening with a little Chinese food and a movie with Mr. Trent. We watched the end of The Devil Wears Prada and then Into the Blue. I also managed to get some crafty stuff done yesterday too and ran to Target. It was rainy and overcast most of the weekend but when you are having that much fun you don’t even notice! I hope that you all had a nice weekend too!

Monday, and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge from the one and only Julee Tilman…

You know that I love a Tall & Skinny! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My base for the background is a piece of Smoky Slate. Two pieces of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6X6 Collection are up next. The anchor is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on White. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the circle. I love all of the nautical-ness (is that even a word?! Mojo Monday 403

Yes, there goes another rapidly dwindling weekend. Although I have to say mine was very good. Yesterday was pretty relaxing. I had waffles with Taylor in the morning for breakfast and then went over to my parents’ because Daniel was there. He was in his “What’s that?” phase yesterday, that’s where he just sits and points at things asking, “What’s that?” over and over again. It’s usually the same thing, but he’s cute so it doesn’t matter. I came home and then Daniel came over to visit me, because he likes to do that now. LOL! We played a little bit more “What’s that?” in my house before he looked at me, said bye, grabbed my mother’s hand and left. The rest of the day I just relaxed, it’s nice to have a day like that every once in a while. I hope that you all had a good weekend too.

The good thing about Monday’s is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge! This week’s sketch is provided by the very talented Julee Tilman…

Mojo403

I haven’t done a mostly white card in a really long time, so I thought I’d give that a go today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I wanted my flagged piece and my greeting to match, so I coated the end of the flagged piece in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Next up is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb that is adhered to the card with some Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the same Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum. I die cut my wreath using the Simon Says Stamp Danville Wreath and adhered it to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card, I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins on the wreath with Crystal Effects. I really like all of the white with the splashes of platinum and I love the way the greeting and the wreath match. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch.
