Global Design Project 115

Ah yes, Friday, the end of what has been a pretty long week. I managed to get through a few projects yesterday, not as many as I wanted to but I’ll see what I can get done today. I went over to Jim’s last night for dinner and to meet up with our friend Laura to start planning for next year’s fundraising event. Cali met Jim’s dogs and they were ok together, it will be a while before they are best buddies. Cali has a little bit of a Napoleon complex, small dog syndrome as I like to call it! She needs to be in charge! The more time she spends with other dogs the better she will get. I’m off to get a haircut this morning and then catch up with my friend Greg. 😀

I was looking around for a challenge yesterday and remembered the Global Design Project, haven’t done that one in a while and they have a nice simple one this week…

No stamps on today’s card, just some cool die cuts! Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Necessities Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. From a piece of Red Glimmer Paper I cut out the poinsettia from the Essentials by Ellen Poinsettia and Pine Dies and the JOY from the Essential by Ellen Holiday Words Dies. The pine branches are cut from some Garden Green and adhered with E-Z Runner. I left the negatives in the poinsettia and after I adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape I added Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to the center. The JOY is also adhered with 3M Foam Tape and the card is done! I love the fun sparkly pop of red against the dark woodgrain background, makes for a fun holiday card! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Global Design Project Christmas Joy challenge! Thanks for finishing out your week with me! Have a fantastic Friday and an awesome weekend! 🙂

SIP Challenge 123 – A Sketch!

It’s definitely feeling more Fall like here and I’m already not a fan! Yesterday I did a few things around the house early and then went over and ran a few errands for Heather. I picked up lunch on the way back. After that it was back home to do a few more things. Taylor stopped by after dinner and that was my day. I have a few phone calls to make this morning and some other things to catch up on, always something to do! 😀

It’s Tuesday and time for a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

A nice simple birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Necessities – Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. For the wreath I used the die from the September 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Nobel Fir and Super Gold Curious Metallic. They are adhered to a strip of 29lb Vellum that I flagged the bottom of with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on another piece of Noble Fir. I cut the ends at an angle and adhered it to the Vellum and wreaths with 3M Foam Tape. A few dots of Multi-Matte Medium adhered the Vellum and wreaths to the card. A nice simple masculine Birthday card! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! The rest of the Team has some great inspiration for you over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 121 – Tic-Tac-Toe

A crisp good morning to you! We got a taste of Fall last night with temps in 40’s! I’ll take Summer back now thanks! I had a pretty productive morning yesterday which is always a good way to start the day! In the afternoon I got a text from Heather that one of her cats got out so me, Kim, Stephanie and George spent a few hours combing the neighborhood. They eventually found the cat and are going to get a GPS collar for her, she gets out a lot! I went back over to Heather’s later and we ran a few errands. My evening was finished off with a little TV. This morning I have a bunch of things to get to and some cleaning to do around the house. 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means it time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I went diagonal from top left to bottom right on the Tic-Tac-Toe board. My card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock has the front covered in a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Essentials – Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. I heat embossed a flower and two leaves from the Essentials by Ellen Bold Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White and Copper Embossing Powder onto some 65lb Vellum. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut them out. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in White Embossing Powder onto the woodgrain paper. The leaves are adhered with E-Z Runner and the flower with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Copper Sequins completes the card. I love the nice pop of white against the dark woodgrain! The card would work well for a wedding, don’t you think?! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! There are some more great cards over on the BLOG so be sure to stop by and take a look! We hope that you will share your take in the gallery with us! Thanks for coming by today! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 262

Hey there! I had a very quiet day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but I guess they are necessary every once in a while. Other than some TV and a little work on the computer not much else happened. This morning I’m off to see Sue again for some Etsy work, that is always productive and fun! 😀

It’s mid-week and time for another Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I choose the row across the middle for my card and decided to use some of the leftovers on my desk to make it! I always stamp some extra when I make something in the hopes that I will use it and today I got to! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide. My background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background onto with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The pumpkin is from the Hero Arts September My Monthly Hero Kit and is stamped in Orange Soda, Tangerine, Pumpkin Pie, Cup O Joe, Green Fields and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out and adhered it to a tag that is cut out with the Hero Arts Nested Tags Infinity Dies from another piece of Desert Storm 80lb. There is a little strip of Washi Tape across the bottom of the tag a piece of Natural Twine is tied through the top. My greeting is stamped in Pumpkin Pie with a few My Mind’s Eye Wicked Enamel Dots added. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and added a little Multi-Matte Medium to hold the twine in place. Love the bright pop of the orange pumpkin against the kraft! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Players 360

Well, I had a wonderful time in PA! I needed to get away from everything for a bit and that is one of the best places to do just that! It’s so peaceful and relaxing at Jim’s house up there. We spent some time antiquing, the afternoons by the lake and the evenings around the fire. I got to meet most of his family and they were great! I had so much fun! The ride home yesterday morning was actually pretty good despite the rain all the way. Traffic was light so I guess I’ll take the rain. I stopped by Jim’s for a little bit after I got home and then came back and had dinner with my Parent’s. The rest of my evening was spent doing a little more organizing with a little TV thrown in for good measure! I hope that you all had a great weekend too! I missed you all for the past two days! 😀

To start off this week I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background and piece of notebook paper are from the DCWV Maps, Text & Ledgers Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Die to cut the left side and adhered it on top of the map at an angle. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Pale Blush Pink and Green Apple onto Desert Storm 80lb. I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered them in the upper right. For the greeting I stamped the letters from the Simon Says Stamp Game Tiles Letters Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black onto die cut pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Necessities Wood Paper Pad and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I love the Scrabble Tiles and the map paper, makes for a fun card don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for starting your week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Butterfly Hello

Yay for the weekend! Yesterday was nice, I did a few things around the house. My Brother and Erika stopped by my Parent’s with the kids and we all had dinner together. After that Taylor and I ran a few errands and I spoke to my friend Greg for a while. Today I have a lot of things to get done, I will be spending a lot of time in front of the computer and then maybe squeeze in a little crafting! 😀

While I was thinking of cards to make yesterday I was looking around the Stampin’ Galley and it’s amazing how much stuff I have accumulated and not used! I’m sure that you know what I mean! LOL! So in an effort to use up some of the excess that I have I used some paper and embellishments to make my card! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad to my card base, the second one with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is one of the My Mind’s Eye Die Cut Journaling Cards and that is adhered with 3M Foam Tape. The little gold butterfly in the upper left is one of the My Mind’s Eye Chipboard Buttons. I tied a piece of American Crafts Black Twine into a bow before adhering it to the card. My greeting is cut from a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Card and two pieces of Black 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I adhered them to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. One last thing to finish the card, a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! A pretty simple card to put together and how neat to get to use some of those goodies that have been just sitting there?! I hope that you like today’s card and are inspired to use some of your collections! Thank you for stopping by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 62 – A Sketch!

Hi! Thanks so much for coming by today! It was another absolutely gorgeous day here! The humidity broke and the temps were in the low 80’s. I got another Altenew order at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to replenish some of what is missing and it also included a few new items! I have to get ready for my Partial Die Cutting Class on Wednesday and the massive Lawn Fawn order that will arrive. I need to get that all checked in and ready for Thursday! That’s the day it gets released to the public! Can’t wait to play with all of their new goodies! Wednesday is going to be a crazy busy day at the store! Anyone wanna come by and help?! 😀

So what do I do on Tuesday?! Oh yes, it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a nice simple sketch…

SIP Challenge 62 - Sketch

When I sat down to make this card on Saturday it started out as a completely different card. Then I went to look for something and found this paper pad that I forgot I had. That was the inspiration for the rest of the card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Early Espresso. The background is that piece of paper from the Prima Cartographer A4 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of My Minds Eye Christmas on Market Street Shining Stars Foiled Vellum. The circle is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, I also hid the adhesive for the Vellum behind it! My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. For the feathers I used the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies to cut out some Kraft Card Stock. I added a little Versa-Mark to the ends and heat embossed some more of the Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder onto them. They are adhered to the gold circle with 3D Foam Squares and a piece of DMC Gold Thread is tied around the top. Three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I love that background paper, so glad that I found it! I also love the way the Vellum softens it! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my fantastic Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery so that you might be one of our top three picks! Thanks again for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 460

It’s Monday, another weekend for the books! Day two of the crop was fun! Everyone gets along and helps each other out. It’s a very nice atmosphere to be creative in! I made a duplicate of the scrapbook page that I made for my Sister-in-law for my Mum, I changed the flowers to purple because that’s her favorite color. When I got home, a little early and after a very nice ride home, I had some dinner and then tried to figure out why the AC in my car isn’t working. I hardly ever use it but I do need it for the defogger. After some tinkering around my Dad and I think that it’s the Climate Control Relay. I’ll have to see where I can get one of those from and change it. Fun! Today I need to work on my Newsletter for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and the new release from Concord & 9th will be arriving at the store. I need to get that entered and then have a little play before it’s released tomorrow!

Starting another week of the best way! With this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo460

I got a few new goodies from Hero Arts that I needed to play with and this sketch was just perfect! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used two pieces of Patterned Paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6×6 Paper Pad. One is the strip on the left and the other I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. My two cool notebook page like things are a piece of Smoky Slate and a piece of Basic Gray that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s To Do List Stamp & Cuts. They are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My heart is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s Clips Stamp & Cut. For my greeting I used the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut. The Love is cut from a piece of The Paper Cut Galvanized Curious Metallic and and the rest of the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black on the Smoky Slate piece. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Onyx Sequins, Essential By Ellen Iridescent Gray Sequins and a few My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots to finish the card. I really like that Paper Pad, great colors and fun patterns and the Kelly’s Stamp & Cuts are great for more than just planners! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to head on over the the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s take on the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Paper Players 306

Another Wednesday done! I was all by myself at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, well, except for customers! Renee took a much needed day off to spend time with Nick! I spoke to my friend Dianne who told me about a girl that gives Hand-lettering classes! I would love to get someone in to teach that! I would take the class too! I also spoke to Michael and Sue! I did manage to get all of my prep finished for today’s Watercolor 101 Class. I love the way the cards turned out and hope that the students enjoy them just as much! I really do enjoy watercoloring, you can do it so many different ways! The weather here yesterday was just perfect, around 80 degrees so the ride home in the convertible was lovely! Last night I helped my dad with some stuff, had dinner and then came home and tried to decide how I want to re-arrange my house. I need to have a major purge and soon!

Today I have a nice simple card to share with you that I made for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank LeAnne for making me her Headliner for last week’s sketch! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week…

Paper Players #306

I do love a Tic-Tac-Toe board! I went down the last row and across the top too I guess! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper Card Stock with the Hero Arts Irregular Grid Bold Prints Background in Red Royal and then adhered it to the card base. My tag is a piece of Kraft that I cut out using the tag from the June My Monthly Hero Kit. Some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images are from one of my favorite sets, the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Intense Black and the used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Ribbon Banner Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and cut it out with the smaller of the two banners. Some Foam Tape holds it to the card and I added a few Enamel Dots for a little interest! I love that Irregular Grid Background, I think that background stamps are very under utilized tools! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for visiting! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 53 – CASE the Designer!

We have had a great run of weather lately! Sunny and mild here again yesterday and my car is loving it! It was another good day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got a lot of administrative things done and also found out that putting orders together at 12:45AM is not such a good idea! Thankfully I have a great Rep and she corrected my mistakes! It’s always good to have a second pair of eyes! I left the store around 6:30 and headed over to Heather’s. She had an amazing dinner waiting for me and a much needed glass of wine! We chatted and I worked on some store stuff while she did her school paper. It’s funny how you can sometimes get so much more accomplished when you have some company! Today I have lots of stuff to work on at the store! I have to decide what I’m doing for next month’s Card Class and get some samples made and I also have to get ready for Thursday’s Intro to Altenew Class. Such fun work I have to do! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Blog for this week’s challenge…

SIP Case Challenge 53 800

Now there is a fun and different challenge! While I was at the store yesterday I was digging around in the drawers in the back and came across some dies. I decided that I would put them together to make my card! The card base is Solar White 80lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The filmstrip is cut from some Battleship Gray with one of the dies from the My Mind’s Eye Hello World Dies Set. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My three feathers are cut from Pale Aqua, Tropical Sea and Gold Mirror Card using the feather die from the My Mind’s Eye On Trend Die Set. I adhered the feathers to each other and to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. The banner is a piece of Slate with the right side flagged and that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is cut from some more Gold Mirror Card using a word die from the Paper Smooches Christmas Words 2 Die Set and that is adhered to the banner with more Spray Adhesive. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold and some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Green with Envy Sequins to finish the card. Sometimes it’s fun to use some random die cuts to make a fun card, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper CASE the Designer Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s cards, including our newest resident Crystal! Don’t forget to play along by entering your card in the gallery!
