Sunflower Tri-Fold Hello

Ahh… another week done. Happy Friday peeps! I had a rather uninteresting week but sometimes that’s ok! No big plans for the weekend either. Guess getting crafty is always a good way to spend some time. My Craft Closet needs to be organized in the worst way and I really do need to part with some of my stamp sets, but it’s so hard. Do you feel that way? Are you a stamp hoarder?! LOL!

I haven’t purchased a My Monthly Hero Kit in a while. Not that I haven’t liked them but this month’s kit is awesome and that’s what I used for my card. It was inspired by Jennifer McGuire’s partial die cutting video that I watched the other day. I cut a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to 6 1/4 x 9 3/4 and scored it at 3 1/4 and 6 1/2. I arranged the dies for the Sunflower on both of the front panels and die cut it using the partial die cutting technique and my Spellbinder’s Platinum Machine. Once I trimmed of the excess with my Fiskars Paper Trimmer I used my Misti to Stamp the Sunflowers in Gina K Amalgam Ink. Then I used the coordinating stencils included in the kit along with Hero Arts Butter Bar, Pumpkin Pie, Green Apple, Lime Green, Cup O Joe and Root Beer Ink and my Blender Brushes to add color to them. To hold everything in place while I was Inking I used my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Stay-tion. I scored along the edges of the sunflowers and folded them in on each other. I decided that I wanted a green background so I cut a piece of Green 110lb Card Stock to 3 1/8 x 6 1/2 and scored along the top adding adhesive to the flap and adhered it to the card. To hide the green on the back I added another piece of 110lb Card Stock with some Bearly Arts Glue. My greeting is also from the kit and is cut from Super Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock and a piece of Green 110lb for the shadow. I adhered them to each other and the card with more Bearly Arts Glue. I decided I wanted another greeting on the green panel so I stamped one from the Kit in Black.

I love a coordinating envelope and I thought a Kraft one would be perfect so I got out my Pinkfresh Mini Slimline Envelope dies and some Stampin’ Up! Kraft Card Stock and made one. I really do think the card is pretty cool and different, I enjoyed making it! I hope that you like it too and I thank you for stopping by and visiting with me today! Have a great weekend!

Fab Friday 131

And a happy Friday to you! I was over watching Daniel and Tristan again yesterday. Tristan has given up on her naps, maybe she just likes to spend time with me?! LOL! We had fun as always, she is such a smart little girl! After work Jim came by and we had a little dinner and watched TV. Nice to relax for a bit! This morning I have a lot of computer stuff to get finished and a little cleaning and laundry to do. Not sure what’s on for the weekend but hopefully something fun will materialize! 😀

It’s time once again for a Fab Friday challenge…

I do enjoy a nice simple sketch! Onto my card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of patterned paper from the Pebbles Yours Truly 6×6 Paper Pad down the right side flagging the bottom. My ampersand is from the January 2018 My Monthly Hero Kit and is cut from apiece of Classic Cherry. I added some sparkle with my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen to bring out the detail, you can see it much better in real life! It’s adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. My you and me is from the stamp set in the Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto more Classic Cherry. I cut them out and added them to card with more 3M Foam Tape. A few of the sequins from the Kit are added and the card is done! Nice and simple, a good way to spread a little love anytime of the year! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see more inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for coming by and I wish you all a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 279

Hello and a happy Wednesday to you all! I got sidetracked yesterday morning. I ended up helping out with some projects for a friend and then headed over to see Sue for Etsy stuff. After that I went to see my Mum. She is not a happy camper and is in a lot of pain. But she is walking and doing all of her therapy, I think that she wants to get out of there as soon as possible! After that I came home and Taylor stopped by. We had a little dinner and watched TV. She left around 7:00 and I did a few things around the house and actually watched This is Us. I usually wait until the next day so I can watch it on Hulu without the commercials but I needed to see it! What did you all think of the last two episodes? This morning I’m off to The Ink Pad to cover the Store for Anna for a little bit. I hope that I remember how the register works! LOL! 😀

I did manage to get a quick card made last night for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I immediately thought of the December 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. The card started out as something completely different than it finished as though! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock and adhered it to the front of my card base. The Martini and lemon twist are from the Hero Arts Martini Fancy Die. I cut the Martini from 65lb Vellum and the lemon twist from Gold Mirror Card. My greeting is from the December 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit and is also cut from Gold Mirror Card. A few strategically placed dots of Multi-Matte Medium adhered all of the pieces to the card. I was going to add a few sequins but I didn’t want to take away from the really cool embossed background! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Theme Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG so stop by and take a look! we hope that you will enter your card in the gallery and share your take with us! Thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Fab Friday 129

Ahh… Friday! I had quite the busy day yesterday and I did manage to get a lot accomplished! Got a few orders packed up and sent out, spoke to a few peeps, ran some errands. Jim came by after work and we had Zorn’s for dinner and then watched TV. This morning I have some crafty projects to work on and a few other things to take care of. I think that I’ll see if I can go into Manhattan on Sunday and see my friend Kim, I need a little city trip and it’s supposed to be nice! 😀

Every other week we have a new Fab Friday challenge and it’s one of those weeks! Our inspiration this time is a sketch…

I wanted to do a somewhat one layer card so I took out some Grey 110lb Card Stock and cut it so I could piece it back together by adhering it to a piece of Solar White 80lb. Onto that I stamped the outline rose and leaf images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Granite. In the bottom right corner I heat embossed a greeting from the set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and then adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The heart die cut is from the Hero Arts January My Monthly Hero Kit and is cut from a piece of Gold Mirror Card. I used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to add it to the card. I do love the subtle roses in the background and the that delicate heart is so neat! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to see me today! Have a fabulous Friday and a great weekend! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 276

Hey there! Happy Hump Day! We were supposed to get snow this morning but it’s raining instead and will turn to snow for a few hours before it stops. Still over the Winter! I had a busy day day yesterday dealing with little issues here and there. Why does everything happen all at once?! I’m sure that it’s the same for all of us but boy one thing goes sideways and everything else follows! I should have it all under control today, positive thinking right?! I did go over to Jim’s last night and we got his Mom’s den all put back together. Check that project off of the list. This morning I’m off to watch the kiddies! Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday! 😀

I received the My Monthly Hero Kit yesterday so I used that for my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the Love from the Set in Soft Pink and Red Royal using my Mini MISTI. In the upper left and lower right are pieces of Galvanized Curious Metallic Card that I cut out with one of the Dies from the Kit. They are adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. There is a fun pack of Sequins included and I could resist adding some, they give it just the right amount of sparkle! I do really like that Love with the layering, so neat and different! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! Paper Players 376

Hello friends and a happy Martin Luther King Day to you! A Monday is always better when it’s a Holiday!! I had a nice weekend and hope that you all did too! On Saturday Jim and I drove up to the lake house in PA to check on the work that was done, not very happy with it so I emailed the contractor and told him what needed to be fixed. It was incredibly cold but so beautiful there! Really great to get to see the place in the winter!

We stopped and had dinner at Cracker Barrel on the way home, not as good as we had remembered! Yesterday we painted his Mother’s den a nice grayish blue color. That was an all day project, the cutting in and trim takes such a long time! Today I will be recovering from using all of those muscles that I never do! LOL! 😀

I squeezed in a quick card this morning for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Whenever I’m feeling a lack of Mojo I always grab some solid image stamps and create a stamped background. It also lets me get some more use out my neglected sets! Onto a panel of Solar White 80lb I stamped the greeting and images from the June 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. The greeting is stamped in Charcoal and the images in Stone Wash, Lemon Yellow, Bubble Gum and Antigua. I adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon and Lemon Drop Sequins. A simple a fun card to let someone know that you are thinking of them! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thanks for starting your week off here with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 317

Well, I woke up to 3 inches of snow this morning! No thanks! LOL! It was so windy and cold here yesterday too! Is it too early to start complaining that I can’t wait for Spring?! Despite the frigid day I still got a lot done. Last night we had an early Thirsty Thursday at my house, Heather was a little tipsy so I drove her home and then took her car over to her this morning. I’ll be running more errands and checking more things off my to-do list today! 😀

I managed to get a card made this morning for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

I wanted to use the December My Monthly Hero Kit again. First I used the Hero Arts City Skyline Fancy Die, an add-on, to cut out a piece of Gold Glitter Card. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb that I rounded the corners on with my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. The moon and the starts are from the Stamp Set included and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of the Gold Glitter Card and then adhered my panel with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is also from the Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Blue Jay. A few Black 3D Foam Squares hold it in place. The bottom looked a little plain so I added a few Nautical Sparkle and Brushed Gold Sequins along with some dots with my Gold Signo Gel Pen. Love that fun City Scape Die and the unusual greeting! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for your visit and I wish you all a super Thursday! 🙂

Fab Friday 127

And it’s Friday again! That was another quick week! I find that the end of the year always goes extremely fast, so much going on I guess! I had a pretty productive day yesterday, I got some commenting done while I waited at Jim’s for the repair man to come. They of course have to come back, need a part. Cali was better with the dogs, they were actually all sleeping on the chair together. I headed over to Heather’s early and we ran a few errands before having dinner. Steph came by and later on we ran to Target where we met Taylor. She came back to the house with us. A nice evening as always! No clue what I’m up to this morning! I’ll figure it out! LOL! 😀

Today is the last Fab Friday challenge of 2017! It’s a fun one too…

I love to make a nice one layer stamped background card! It’s a great way to stretch your stamps too! All of my images are stamped onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The taxi, pretzel and I love NYC are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. The tree and snowflakes are from the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Kit and the greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black except the I Love NYC and snowflakes, they are stamped in Red Royal and Tide Pool. To color in the images I used my Copics and adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Simple and really fun to make! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Christmas Free-for-All! Pay a visit to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and share yours with us in the gallery! So glad that you stopped by! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

North Pole Fishing

Happy Friday! I had a very productive day yesterday while waiting for the new door to be installed at Jim’s house. I caught up on all of my Blog comments, all 100 of them! And yes, that took all day! LOL! When Jim came home we ran to the grocery store and then I helped him make stuffing for his lunch at work today. We also made some Shoo-Fly Pies using my Grandmother’s recipe and they came out really good! On my way home I stopped by Heather’s for a little Thirsty Thursday! Always good to see my ladies! Today I want to get some things done but as you can see by late post the morning isn’t going as planned! 😀

I did squeeze in a quick card this morning using the October My Monthly Hero Kit. To start the card I cut out a piece of Soft Sky with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. The images are all from the Hero Arts October My Monthly Hero Kit and are stamped in Black. I used Prismacolor Pencils to color in the eskimo and the ice. Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I adhered a piece of Pacific Point that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wave 3D Embossing Folder. A strip of Galvanized Curious Metallic goes down the left side and then the circle is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finish the card! I love the images in the Kit, they are much easier to color in with pencils too! I hope that you like today’s card! I thank you for coming by for a visit and hope that you have a fabulous weekend! 🙂

SIP Challenge 125 – Colors!

Hi there! Still looking for Winston in the mornings, I guess I’ll be doing that for a while. I had a very quiet day yesterday, ran some errands and did some cleaning. This morning I’m going to try and get a few things organized around the house and maybe get some laundry done. Hopefully you all are having a more eventful week than me! 😀

I did spend a little time in the Stampin’ Galley yesterday and made my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

Some timely colors as the leaves are all falling off the trees around here. I do love to just do some stamping, get to use some of the plethora of inks that I have! Today’s card uses the Hero Arts September 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the leaves in Just Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Butter Bar and Cup O Joe to form a wreath. I started by stamping the large Just Rust ones and then went around to make the circle. My greeting is stamped in Cup O Joe in the lower right. I have these fun leaves in the Little Things by Lucy Colors of Fall Sequins Mix so I added a few of them and the card is done. A nice simple card but still way better than anything you can get in the store, don’t you think?! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and get inspired to create a card to share with us in the gallery! Thanks for visiting! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂
