Happy Hump Day peeps! It’s still chilly here but we’re supposed to go up a few degrees today and continue until we finally hit the 40’s by Friday! Not much to report about from yesterday. It was a quiet day at work and Andrew came over last night and we worked on some design stuff for Satellite Lane. They have a big announcement coming up next week, so stay tuned for that! I’ll be at their show on Friday as well and I’ll be sure to have some pictures for you.

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS083 3-05-2014

I decided to use some much neglected supplies for today’s card, my Epic Day This and That goodies! Today’s card base is Calypso Coral and the background is a piece of Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper. The panel in the middle is another piece of the DSP backed by a piece of Basic Gray and the left side is cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. The two chevrons are from the Chevron Punch Kit-Digital Download and are cut out with my E-Cutter from a piece of Crumb Cake. The sticker in the middle is from the Epic Day This and That Designer Stickers. I backed it with some Whisper White and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper clip is one of the Hung Up Cute Clips. Lastly, the greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set; it’s stamped in Basic Gray on Pool Party and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I really am having a lot of fun with the E-Cutter, I think the chevrons are really neat! And it was good to use some stuff that I haven’t used in a while. I appreciate you coming by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Take some time to stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

So how many of you out there are ready for spring?! I think there should be a petition started to get it here sooner. That really nice weather that we had over the weekend is now just a distant memory. Last night it dropped down to 20 degrees. This is going to be a very long 22 more days until spring. Okay, enough complaining about the weather because I’m sure it’s just as bad where you are! By the way, if you live in Florida or someplace nice and warm, I don’t want to hear it! LOL!

It’s Wednesday and that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew with my design team card for this week’s sketch…

    PCCCS082 2-26-2014

A simple sketch calls for a simple card (I know you’ve heard that before). My card base is a piece of Smoky Slate Card Stock. The background is made up of three different elements. The top is a piece of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Across the middle is a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. To finish off the background, the bottom is a piece of Island Indigo. I used the Fringe Scissors across the top of it and a piece of Silver 1/8″ ribbon goes across and is tied to the left of the greeting. My greeting is from the Label Something Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gumball Green and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. Two banners, one in Silver Foil Sheet and one in Whisper White, hang off the bottom. Simple yes but I still managed to use a good amount of stuff! There you have it, my design team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forget to stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up and enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you did with the sketch as well! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Wednesday!

Well, the snow turned out to be not that big of a deal yesterday! We got about an inch and then it turned to rain. I was never so happy to see rain in all my life! LOL! Things are gearing up at work again. My one day reprieve is over! Last night was a nice relaxing evening. Andrew came over, we ran some errands, had some wine and wings and listened to some music. Not bad for a Tuesday night!

The best thing about Wednesday is that it means we’re halfway through the week. The next best thing is that it means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS081-2-19-2014

I mixed up a few of the elements but still stayed pretty true to the sketch. My card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock and the background is a piece of Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The panel in the middle is a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. My three flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. The butterfly is from the Nature’s Hello Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with the Backyard Basics Framelits Dies. On the lower left is a piece of Real Red that was cut out with the Banners Framelits Dies and on top of that I stamped one of the stamps from the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar and punched it out with the Mosaic Punch. The flowers, butterfly and mosaic are all adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the versatility of the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack, it goes quite well with the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set, and so many other things, too! And that’s my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch challenge! Check out the blog to see what the other design team members have done with the sketch, and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your spin on it. As always, I hope you enjoyed my card and thanks so much for stopping by! 🙂

It was another nice frigid day here yesterday in New York getting us prepared for all the snow we’re supposed to get tonight. They’re saying anywhere from 3 to 10 inches of snow again and I say this better be the last one! LOL! Remember my friend Danielle came over recently and made up a Valentine’s Day card for her boyfriend. Well, not to be outdone, her sister, Stephanie, came over last night to make one for her boyfriend. She asked for a little guidance but she worked mostly on her own. Here is what she came up with…

    Stephanie V'day Card 2014

Pretty good for a first try! She said that Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder reminded her of tire tracks.

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This is what we have for you this week…

    PCCCS080 2-12-2014

My inspiration for my card comes from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Some Gold Foil Sheet is punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered down the left side of the card. I used the Starburst Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay that serves as a backing for my “love” which is cut out from more Gold Foil Sheet using the “Vintage” Expressions Thinlits Dies. Two flagged pieces of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper peek out from behind the Starburst on the right side. I find the color combination to be a little bold but I do like the gold accents. I also realized after that I made the card, there isn’t a single stamp on the card! I hope that you have enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Remember to head over to the blog to see what the other Design Team members have done with the sketch, and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your take as well! As always, I appreciate your visit. I’m off to Brooklyn later on tonight to see Andrew perform with Satellite Lane. Hopefully the snow will wait to start until we come home! Have a happy Hump Day! 🙂

I do love some flags! I think I was really wanting spring when I made this card, the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog has a nice spring feel to it! My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sahara Sand. A strip of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper goes across the middle and also is used for one of the flags. My other flag is a piece of Pistachio Pudding that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (also from Sale-A-Bration!) For my greeting is used the See Ya Later Stamp Set (yup, Sale-A-Bration!) stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The owl Builder Punch is used to punch out the heart from some Crisp Cantaloupe, perfect fit for the stamp! My three flowers are stamped in Summer Starfruit and are from the Best of Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, they go perfectly with the DSP! Finally, two Subtles Candy Dots complete the card. I really do love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet DSP and I thought that it was really cool the way the tower goes so well with it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see my teammates have for you and enter your card in the taller for a chance to one of the Artisan Picks! Yeah, Wednesday! Halfway through! I know, I keep wishing my weeks away in flavor of the weekend. But I really do enjoy my weekends! It’s nice and crisp here and I woke to about another inch of snow. No more complaining, just patiently waiting for winter to finish. Work yesterday was really busy, we have a job fair on Friday and when is the best time to start doing everything of it you might ask… well that would be three days prior. Sadly that’s actually a lot of notice for my place. On a happy note my friend Danielle is coming over tonight and we are going to have some diner and she is going to make her boyfriend a Valentine’s card! It will be her first one! If she lets me I’ll share it with you tomorrow! 🙂

It being Wednesday and all means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This week we have the following for you to work with…

    PCCCS078 1-29-2014

I stayed pretty true to the layout but I also changed things up a bit. The base of my card is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock and the background is a piece of Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper. I cut out a piece of So Saffron with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and I used the Peachy Keen Stamp Set to stamp the squares in So Saffron. The tag looked a little naked without it! My little shoes and brand new are from the Baby, We’ve Grown Stamp Set, the shoes are stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with my Paper Snips and the brand new in Tangerine Tango and cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies. I flagged both ends of a piece of Coastal Cabana and stamped the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. Stampin’ Dimensionals help give it a little oomph! So there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. I hope that you enjoyed it and don’t forget to check out the blog and see what my clever team-mates have for you for inspiration. Enter your’s in the gallery and you might be picked to be a Featured Artisan! Thanks so much for checking in, have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

So, I think I mentioned that we were supposed to get snow yesterday. They said it was supposed to start around 12:00, well it started at 8:00 and boy did it snow! There was about 5 inches on the ground when they let us out of work at 2:15. My usual 10 minute ride home was a leisurely 40 minutes. It was nice to get out of work early though because I came home and crafted the evening away! My boss called me and asked to put on the company website that we would have a delayed opening today at 12:00 which is very convenient because I’m taking Andrew to the airport this morning. Hopefully the roads will be cleared and it will be an uneventful trip. He is going to LA where it is warm and I’ll admit I’m a little jealous! 🙂

Today is Wednesday so that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. This time around we have a fun simple sketch for you…

    PCCCS077 1-22-2014

I was feeling nostalgic when I sat down to make my card so I dusted off an old favorite of mine! My card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock and the background is a piece of Chocolate Chip that I embossed with the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I keep using the reverse side of the folder, I like it better for some reason! My tag is created using the Angled Tag Topper Punch and the stamp is the “Vintage” Young Vermillion, I love the image, it’s so detailed and he looks great stamped in Chocolate Chip. The larger flag and the stars are Pistachio Pudding, the stars are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch pack and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is also stamped in Chocolate Chip. The three banners are from the Banner Blast Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding and punched out with the Banner Punch**. I really do still love that little bird and he looks right at home with the modern elements on the card. So there you have my Paper Craft Crew Design Team card for this week’s sketch. Don’t forget to visit the blog and check out this week’s other inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and enter your card in the gallery so I can see your masterpiece. Thank you for spending some time with me today, I hope that you have a good Wednesday! 🙂

First day back to work… not too bad! It was nice to see my co-workers, they sort of missed me too! It rained here all day today but that’s better than snow! I had to run and see my friend Betty after work and give her some Mac tutoring, bonus, she made some delicious meatloaf for dinner. Nice comfort food for a dreary day like yesterday. 🙂

It’s Wednesday so that means that today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

    PCCCS076 1-15-2014

I was going to go with the colors in the sketch because I really like them but as you will see from my card I went in the complete opposite direction! My card base is Basic Gray Card Stock and my background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. A strip of paper from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper Pack goes down the left side of the card. I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch and some Whisper White for my tag. The greeting is from the See Ya Later Stamp Set** and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. For my flags I used the Banner Blast Stamp Set** inked with Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit and the Banner Punch** is used to punch them out. Three Basic Gray Candy Dots finish off the card. Lots of colors but I think they all work thanks to the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper! So there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Hop on over to the blog to see my talented co-designers take on the sketch and enter your card in the gallery for us to see! Thank you for checking in, have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 75

Today’s the day, kids! My post is extra early this morning because I am off to the airport. If all goes well, I’ll be in Houston before the afternoon. My awesome friend Andrew has volunteered to take me to the airport at the ungodly hour of 4:45 AM. I will certainly owe big time for this one! I’m looking forward to seeing my buddy Brian and hopefully getting to see some of you as well! Don’t fret, even though I’ll be away, I’ll still have a post going up every morning. In addition, there will be some pictures from Leadership.

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. We have a nice simple sketch for you this week…

    PCCCS075 1-08-2013

My card starts off with a base of Blushing Bride Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of High Tide Designer Series Paper for the background. My stamped images are from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set. The poppy is stamped in Smoky Slate and the watercolor blotch is stamped in Blushing Bride. My greeting comes from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Banners Framelits Dies to cut it out and backed it with a piece of Blushing Bride that I trimmed myself. Behind it I tucked a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. And three Basic Jewel Rhinestones finish off the card. I like the color combination, it’s nice and soft. And the Glimmer Paper and rhinestones add just the right amount of sparkle. I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forget to stop over at the blog to see what the other designers came up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see what you did with the sketch! Have a happy Wednesday! Next time you read my post, it’ll be coming from Houston, Texas! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 73 & Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope that you have a day planned with family and friends and that you get everything that you want for Christmas! It’s funny how your outlook on Christmas changes through the years. It used to be all about the gifts and now for me it’s about knowing that the people that are important to me are healthy and happy and that I get to spend time with the ones that I care about. Not just on Christmas but all through the year. Time is precocious and we need to remember that. Speaking of people, Andrew’s surgery went well and he is comfortably recovering at home. He read all of your comments yesterday and remarked that people can be so nice. He thanks you for keeping him your thoughts as do I. I also want to thank all of you for your visits and comments, they really brighten my days and keep me going! It may sound cheesy but your guys are the best!

Today is not only Christmas day but it’s also time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS073 Sketch 12-25-2013

Since yesterday’s card was so simple I needed a nice full one today! My card starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and a piece of Pool Party for the background. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. The strip across the middle is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler. I adhered some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the card. Two flagged pieces, one Smoky Slate and one Cherry Cobbler, sit behind a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The Festive Paper-Piercing Pack is used to pierce just the sides. My snowflake is cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. In the middle is one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The small chevrons along the bottom are cut out with the Circle Card Thinlits and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Basic Jewel Rhinestones and another piece of ribbon tied in knot complete the card. I love the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party with the Cherry Cobbler, you know me, I’m all about non-traditional! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Stop by the blog and check out the other Designer’s projects and enter yours in the gallery. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me. I wish you and all of your peeps a very Happy Christmas! 🙂
