Paper Players #117

Yes, it’s Monday again! The weekend really does go by way too fast. I did have a nice day yesterday. I had brunch with my friend Carol in the morning and we got to catch up and I also saw my buddy Sandy again. Yes, I even got some crafting done. Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Jaydee has given us this color combo…

A very unusual combination but I do like to go outside my comfort zone! The base of my card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images are form the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are 2-Step Stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Window Frames. I cut a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of Very Vanilla out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. The Night of Navy piece is pierced using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. They are adhered to each other with SNAIL and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Night of Navy that I flagged and that too is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Now that the card is finished I really do like the bold color choices for this week’s Paper Players Challenge and I hope that you enjoyed it too. Thank you for stopping by and have yourselves a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #116

Good morning, is it Monday already?! Where did the weekend go?! I would like to go back in time and find the genius that thought a five day work week and two days off was a good idea! LOL! It was gloomy and cold here most of the day yesterday and rained. It definitely feels like fall. I’m also not a fan of it getting dark so early and soon it will be dark at 4:00, bummer! Anyway, there is my morning rant, now on to more pleasant things!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week the lovely LeAnne has given us this interesting challenge…

I was thinking of using the Tea Shoppe set but I opted for a holiday theme instead. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of the flocked window sheet from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I punched a hole in both the card and the flocked window sheet with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. Some very carefully placed glue holds the flocked window sheet to the card base. I also used a piece of the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP and my Simply Scored Tool to make a rosette which I adhered with some Mini Glue Dots inside the punched circle. The mug is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set. It is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies. I adhered it to the rosette with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The greeting is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Soft Suede. I used the Extra Large Oval Punch to punch it out and backed it with a piece of Soft Suede that I cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. They are adhere to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the flocked window sheet and rosettes are my favorite embellishment. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so very much for checking in with me today, I hope that your day is amazing!

Paper Players #115 – All 9!

Good Monday morning! I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I was in Manhattan most of the day yesterday visiting a bunch of friends and dropping off an order. I love Manhattan, especially when the weather cools down into the upper 60’s. My friend Kim and I had dinner at this restaurant called Nick’s on 94th and 2nd Ave. The food there is excellent, if you are ever in the area I definitely recommend it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Anne Marie has given us this Tic-Tac-Toe challenge…

I looked at it for a while and just couldn’t decide which ones I wanted to do, so I did all nine! The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The cake is from the Love & Laughter Stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray on So Saffron. I cut it a little longer and wrapped a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The candle is punched form the Cupcake Builder Punch from Basic Gray and Primrose Petals and adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flags are Basic Gray and Primrose Petals. The trees are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set, stamped in Primrose Petals and Basic Gray, and are punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack and adhered to the flags with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons are adhered to the flags with Mini Glue Dots and all have a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle. The Happy Birthday greeting is from the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. The Congratulations greeting is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and the Merry Christmas is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. The “&” is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals. All of the greetings are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. So let’s see… Christmas, Sparkle/Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Wedding, Yellow & Gray, Red & Blue, Element repeated in 3’s and Birthday… Check! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks packed Paper Players Challenge card. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Hey everyone, how is it going? Things are pretty good on my end. I am missing my cousins. I feel the nip of fall in the air and I’m not thinking that I like it. I think I am meant to live where it doesn’t really get that cold, maybe Florida or Arizona. Oh well, I couldn’t leave Long Island, I would miss my peeps way too much! 🙂

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a nice clean and simple sketch…

I went with a Christmas card with traditional colors but I only used two colors for the whole card. The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The panel on the right is embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. The piece under that is from the Cheerful Christmas Wheel and is also stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon and a Round Designer Ribbon Slide that is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The ornament is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the monochromatic look if the card and the More Merry Messages Stamp Set is becoming a holiday favorite of mine. I hope that you enjoyed this Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and enjoy your day!

Paper Players #114

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a good weekend. Mine was very busy but good. I will be sad to see my cousins go home later today. It is always fun to have them here and hopefully they will be back soon! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a sketch…

I wanted to keep this card nice and simple, I have to start thinking about making my own Christmas cards and this one would be easy to duplicate. The base of the card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flagged pieces are from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and backed it with a piece of Primrose Petals. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and is also stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Collection. I mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do like the simplicity of the card and hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in and have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #113

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Where did the weekend go?! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a nice Sunday, some shopping, some crafting. My aunts also arrived yesterday evening and we all had dinner together. I love having so much of my family around. My other cousins arrive soon, one on Wednesday and two more on Thursday. I’m really looking forward to having everyone all together it’s going to be so much fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Nance has given us a clean and simple banner challenge this week…

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to use the Merry Minis again! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of River Rock, definitely one of my more neglected colors. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the outline of the Decorative Label Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I Punched out a piece of Raspberry Ripple with the Decorative Label Punch and pierced the oval in the center. The Christmas Cheer is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla. I pierced the top and bottom and flagged the ends before adhering it to the Decorative Label and that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The banners are cut from Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. The Gumball Green banners are pierced along the top and they are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. I stamped the ornaments and trees from the Merry Minis Stamp Set in Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple and punched them out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ so glad that I got the Merry Minis set, it has proven to be a versatile and fun addition to my cards. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a nice day!

Paper Players #112

Good Monday morning all. I’m actually liking Monday this week because my cousin comes from England today! As Kathy mention it’s the first time I have ever said that I liked Monday! It’s been two years since I have seen almost to the day. I can’t wait for 5:00! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players. It’s sketch number 112 and my birthday is the 12th, coincidence?! This week we have a color challenge…

I’m really liking these colors! I have used the Postage Due Stamp Set a lot, it’s one of my favorites, so I needed to come up with a different way to incorporate it and here’s what I did. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die on a piece of Basic Black and then used the  Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders to emboss it. I left it a little taller and adhered it to the bottom half of the card. I stamped the large image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Basic Grey on some linen fabric. I took a piece of Crumb Cake and put Sticky Strip along the edge and pulled the fabric around the back and adhered it. Then I another piece of Crumb Cake cut slightly smaller the the back of that and used some SNAIL in the middle and Multipurpose Adhesive around the edges to prevent the fabric from fraying. I did the same process with one of the stamp images using Baja Breeze and adhered it to the main image with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. To attach it to the card I used some magnetic tape. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Grey on Very Vanilla. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part is that you can take the main image off the front of the card and it becomes a refrigerator magnet! I also love the way the images look stamped on the linen. I hope that you enjoyed tis week’s Paper Players Challenge Card and that you are inspired to try something different. Thank you so much for visiting and for you comments. Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #111

Good morning everyone and happy Labor Day! I’m always happy on Labor Day because it’s a holiday and I have no work! LOL! I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend. I am having a good one. I got lots of stuff accomplished and made a bunch of cards too.

Before I get to today’s post I would like to thank LeAnne for choosing my card as Headliner for the Paper Players Challenge 110. I’m so glad that she enjoyed the card, it has some of my favorite colors in it and I love the Wonderfall Stamp Seta and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. You can see the original post here and the Paper Players post here. For this week’s Paper Players Challenge Jaydee has asked us to use leaves or a tree in our project…

Seeing as I had just used the Wonderfall set I decided to go with a favorite of mine that carried over from the 2011 Holiday Catalog, Gently Falling. The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of More Mustard for the background. The Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies cutout is paper-pierced with the Festive Paper -Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool. I used my Color Spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to spritz the card stock before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It creates the backdrop for the wreath I made with the Gently Falling Stamp Set. I stamped the outline of all of the images in Early Espresso. The fill in colors are Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I cut all of the stamped images out with my Paper Snips and mounted them to the Window Frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, punched out with the Word Window Punch and mounted to a piece of Riding Hood Red that I punched out with the Modern Label Punch. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final touch I used one of the Brushed Bronze Designer buttons. I tied some Linen Thread through a Brights Designer Button and adhered it to the Bronze button with some Mini Glue Dots and then adhered them to the card with more Mini Glue Dots. It felt good to use one of my older sets and I like the color combination with the pops of red. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Player Challenge card and that you have a great day.Thank you so much for spending some time with me today.

Paper Players #110

Happy Monday peeps! Yeah right! Monday comes so fast, I wish it were a three day weekend every week. I would like to go back in time and have a word with the person that decided on the 5 day work week! LOL! Anyway, I had a nice weekend and hope that you did too. Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. I checked twice just to make sure that I got it right! The lovely LeAnne has given us this sketch to work with…

My card this week has lots of layers and of course some paper-piercing! It’s a nice masculine fall themed birthday card. The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I embossed a piece of the Core’dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Using the Core’dinations Sanding System I sanded the card stock to really make the grain of the wood stand out. I like the fact that when you sand it the paper has an almost velvet feel to it. I stamped two leaves from the Wonderfall Stamp Set in Island Indigo on Crumb Cake and then used my Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the outside edges. They are mounted to two pieces of Island Indigo and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The patterned piece of paper in the middle is from the Festival of Prints Designer Paper Stack and is backed by a piece of Early Espresso. The large maple leaf and acorn are cut out with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and are also form the Wonderfall Stamp Set, the leaf is stamped in Island Indigo and the acorn is stamped in Early Espresso, both on Crumb Cake. Finally the greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo on Crumb Cake and I used the Paper-Piercing goodies again along the top and bottom of the sentiment. I cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and all of the pieces in the middle are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the color combination and what guy wouldn’t want to get this card for their birthday?! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card. Have an interesting Monday and thanks for popping in!

Paper Players #109 – Take 2!

Lets give this another try! Apparently on Sunday I suffered from a bout of Dyslexia! I read the this week’s Paper Players Challenge as Paper Piercing… for the rest of the world it said Paper Piecing! Thank you to Sandy for bringing it to my attention. That’s the thing about blog posts, once they are out there it’s done. Thank you to the Paper Players for removing my card from yesterday, this one we can keep I hope! 🙂

Once again thank you to Jaydee for choosing my card from last week! Now on to this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The wonderful Anne Marie has given us a PAPER PIECING (just off by an R!) CAS challenge…

When I finally read it correctly I thought hmm… I don’t think that I have ever done that, well I have now! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the two layer cake images from the Make A Cake Stamp Set in Basic Black on Patio Party Designer Series Paper and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the images again in Primrose Petals and used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out And adhered the pieces to the stamped image with 2-Way Glue. I Paper-Pierced (well, I just had to :-)) the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool. Then I cut three strips of Patio Party DSP, flagged the ends and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The stamped image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Pennant Builder Punch to make the banner across the top. Some more Patio Party DSP was inserted halfway and punched out. The Whisper White Bakers Twine needed a little something on the ends so I used some retired Twitterpated Designer Buttons mounted with Mini Glue Dots. The pennants are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Midnight Muse and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. A thin strip of Midnight muse is flagged and mounted behind it. I love the simplicity of the card and if you change the Primrose Petals out for another color you could easily use this for a guy’s birthday too. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card – take 2 and thank you for enduring my Dyslexia from yesterday! Have an amazing day!
