Paper Players #109 Oops!

Updated! Apparently I should read a little better!! It’s not piercing, it’s piecing! LOL! I’ll be back tomorrow with the correct card! Ha ha ha! Wow, a little embarrassing but I did have a busy weekend so there you go! 🙂

Good morning, is it Monday all ready?! Boy did that weekend go fast. I’m happy to say that I made it through the Bridal Shower and the 70th Birthday Party unscathed. I also managed to do some major re-arranging in my house to expand my craft area. I was successful for the most part, now I just need to reorganize a little and find someplace for the few straggler items that are still in the living room. So, in the end I had a very productive weekend!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. First, I want to thank Jaydee for choosing my card as her pick of the week for last weeks challenge! You can see the winners here and my original post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us a Clean and Simple Paper Piercing Challenge…

Paper-Piercing… I LOVE Paper-Piercing! The base of my card is Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a strip from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom. The greeting is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut it out. The piece under that is Lucky Limeade and is cut out with the same. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Under that we have some Cherry Cobbler and I pierced the outline of the label onto that. All of the layers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some bling I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the cut it half and adhered it to the label with the greeting using some 2-Way Glue. Last but certainly not least I used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock that I flagged the ends on and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I love the greeting, it’s so true and Paper-Piercing… WEE! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Paper Players #108

A good Monday morning everyone, or at least I’m hoping that it turns out to be. I always try to start the week off as optimistic as possible! Fingers crossed that we all have good weeks from now on. My brother and his fiancĂ© were up from PA this weekend. She had her hair and makeup trial and her second to last dress fitting. It was also her birthday yesterday so we had some red velvet cake, which is my favorite! Happy Birthday Erika!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a color challenge…

I’m loving the colors! I decided that I would try to come up with a different kind of card. I love anything 3D so I did a card that has a framed front and folds flat and still fits inside a standard envelope. Another good part, it uses standard 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 5 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored at 1/2″, 1″, 4 3/4″ and 5 1/4″ with my Simply Scored. All of the stamped images are from the Papaya Collage Stamp Set. I cut a frame out of a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the frame image in Not Quite Navy and cut a piece out of the card base the same size as the inside of the frame. Another piece of Very Vanilla is stamped a few times with the leaves image in Crumb Cake and mounted to inside. The bird and the butterflies are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with my Paper Snips. The bird is mounted to the leaves with Stampin Dimensionals and the butterflies with SNAIL. Two Basic Jewels Pearls on each one make the bodies. The greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy Card Stock. The piece of Cherry Cobbler along the right side was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and a thin piece of Comfort CafĂ© Designer Series Paper was added on top. I am really liking this card and it wasn’t to difficult to make. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and that you will be having a great day and fantastic week! Thank you for visiting!

Paper Players #107

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was great but very busy. I did get almost all of my todo list to-done so that’s a very good thing. I’m the host of card class this week and I’m looking forward to it. I’m making beans and rice with all the fixin’s for dinner, one of my daughters favorite meals.

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a back to school sketch challenge from Nance…

It was when I saw this weeks challenge that I wished I had gotten the From Your Teacher Stamp Set from Sale-A-Bration! Here I was thinking when will I ever use that?!?! I opted for a class of theme. I asked my daughter when she graduates and she said 2014 so here is my back to school for the class of 2014. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit Dies with some Island Indigo and then used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool along the edge. The paper on the left is from the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper Pack and both items are adhered to the card with SNAIL. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die with the Wonderfall Stamp Set for the two leaves that are stamped in Crumb Cake. I thought the letters across them were perfect for school. The Class of and Back to School are stamped in Island Indigo using the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet and my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I paper-pierced and flagged a piece of Island Indigo for the backdrop for the numbers that are form the Memorable Moments Stamp Set and are also stamped in Island Indigo. I cut them out with my handy Paper Snips and they are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have to say that Island Indigo is definitely my favorite color especially when paired with Crumb Cake. I hope that you liked this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are having a great day! Thanks so much for visiting and your comments are always appreciated.

Paper Players #106 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone how was your weekend? Mine was good, too fast but good! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Leslie has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge…

I went with the row on the right going down, favorite color, masculine, punches. It took me a little bit to figure out what my favorite color was but after some careful thought I decided Island Indigo was it! The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock, to that I added a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. In the upper right corner is a rosette also made from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I punched a piece of Island Indigo with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Itty-Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A piece of Riding Hood Red is punched with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and I placed it behind it before I adhered the rosette to the card. The bicycle image and stamp are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, the bicycle is stamped in Island Indigo and I sponged the edges with Island Indigo before I mounted it to another piece of Fan Fair DSP. The postage stamp is stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The H and B are from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. The “appy” and the “irthday” are from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Riding Hood Red and dissected with my Paper Snips. I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I love the images on the Fan Fair DSP, the cancelled stamp looks like it’s really stamped on the paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and thanks as always for visiting! Have a great day!

Paper Players #105 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was good. I got most of what I wanted to do accomplished. I also went into the city yesterday to see some friends and drop off a Stampin’ Up! order. The best part was driving in and back with the top down in the car! 🙂

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week Jaydee has given us this sketch challenge…

A nice simple layout to work with. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and backed it with a piece of Garden Green. The tree is cut with my Paper Trimmer and mounted to the card. I embossed piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and adhered to a piece of Garden Green with some SNAIL. The ornaments are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the coordinating new Merry Minis Punch Pack* to punch them out. The circles behind them are form the Be Of Good Cheer Designer series Paper and are punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I adhered the ornaments to the circles with Mini Glues Dots and the circles are adhered to the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched the star out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack* from a piece of new Champagne Glimmer Paper*. For the circle to the left I used a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die. The new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch* is used to punch out a piece of Garden Green. The Cherry Cobbler Circle is punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and the tree with the Merry Mini Punch Pack*. The greeting across the top is from the new Border Banter Stamp Set* and is stamped in Garden green and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you are liking the new items from the Holiday Catalog and that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Thank you very much for stopping by and have an great day!

Paper Players #104

Good Monday morning to you all. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was great! A nice long weekend in Vermont with friends was just what I needed to re-charge the batteries a little. I had a nice ride home yesterday, I didn’t hit too much traffic. I was glad to see my parents, daughter and Winston when I got home! Thanks to Susan, Mina and Kim!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week LeAnne has given us a clean and simple wordsmith challenge…

I have been meaning to use some of my neglected colors a little more so I used some Sahara Sand and paired it with Primrose Petals. I really like the two colors together, they compliment each other nicely. The base of the card is Sahara Sand and I stamped it with the Parlor Prints Background Stamp in Primrose Petals. I used the Floral Frames Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Primrose Petals Card Stock and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The stamped image is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is also cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. I think that it fits perfectly inside! I mounted that to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I used some Sticky Strip to attach a piece of Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon across the bottom and then used the “fork method” to tie the bow since I am bow challenged and used my Paper Snips to flag the ends. The tiny heart is punched out using the Owl Builder Punch from a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper* from the 2012 Holiday Catalog and a small (really small!) piece of Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the stamped image. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out another piece and a Mini Glue Dot to adhere it to the middle of the bow. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are inspired to use some of your more neglected colors. Thank you so much for checking in and have a wonderful Monday! 🙂

Paper Player #103 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday. I had a very nice weekend and got most of what I wanted to get accomplished done. There is always something that I don’t get to but there’s always tomorrow! I hope that you all had a nice weekend and the heat is finally supposed to break today which is welcome after the scorcher of a weekend that we had here on Long Island.

Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a color challenge from Anne Marie…

I thought about doing a nice summer themed card but I really wanted to use some new stuff so I did a Christmas card. I like to think of it as my Christmas in Florida card! The base of the card is Calypso Coral Card Stock. The center panel is embossed with the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* in Daffodil Delight. The top and the bottom have a piece of Lucky Limeade that I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies on and then adhered to the back before I mounted it to the card. The images in the middle are from the new Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set* that coordinates nicely with the embossing folder. I stamped the oval image in Lucky Limeade and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. I stamped the joy in Calypso Coral and cut it out with my Paper Snips along with the bow at the top. They are all mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The four ornament images in the corners are from the new Merry Minis Stamp Set* and are stamped in Lucky Limeade and punched out with the new coordinating Merry Minis Punch Pack*. They too are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a small Basic Jewels Pearl to the center of each of the ornaments and the center of the bow. It’s definitely a different color combination for a holiday card but if I lived someplace warm I would think that it would be fitting! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and thank you as always for visiting. Have a great Monday! 🙂

Paper Players #102

Hello everyone and happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was good, I got to see some friends, craft and my brother and his fiancĂ© picked up the Wedding invitations! I’m so happy they are finished and that they were happy with them. Next up… thank you cards! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a theme challenge, Christmas in July…

I was very happy to get to use some of my new Christmas stamps. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of the card. The greeting at the top is from the Cheerful Christmas Stampin’ Around Wheel. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out the letters. Then I used the Ticket Duo Builder Punch with Gumball Green Card Stock and adhered the letters to it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the image from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set in Gumball Green and punched it our with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. The ornament loop is stamped in VersaMark and the heat embossed with Pewter Stampin’ Emboss Powder. In the middle is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Cherry Cobbler punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a Basic Jewels Rhinestone adhered in the center. The whole thing is mounted to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper bow at the top was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Cheerful Christmas Wheel and cut and assembled with Sticky Strip. Another Rhinestone is adhered in the middle. The bottom image is also from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. I used still more Rhinestones in the middle of each image and mounted it to a piece of Gumball Green Card Stock and still more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I’m loving the brighter Gumball Green for the holiday’s this year. I hope that you enjoyed today’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are inspired to make some holiday cards too. Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day!

Paper Players #101

Good morning everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was very nice. My friend Kim was out for the weekend, the party was great on Saturday and yesterday it was beautiful outside. It rained a little here last night and looks like rain today too but all in all it was a great weekend. Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week Lesley has given us this sketch…

My card starts with a base of Certainly Celery Card Stock. In the middle is a piece of Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper and on either side I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die with some Rose Red Card Stock. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, a 2 Step Stamp Set, and are stamped in Pretty In Pink and Rose Red for the flower and the leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. I cut both images out with my handy Paper Snips and mounted them on Stampin’ Dimensionals to a cutout from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Die. The band of Wild Wasabi Card Stock across the middle of the card is embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Finally the greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set, stamped in Rose Red, I punched it out with the Modern Label Punch and then punched a piece of Rose Red Card Stock with the same punch and cut it half and adhered it to the back. The color combination is nice and bright and cheery and the greeting makes the card perfect for a birthday. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a great Monday!

Paper Players – Happy 100th Challenge!

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. I had a very nice weekend. I spent a good part of it making the wedding invitations for my brother’s wedding. My daughter Taylor was here for most of the weekend with me and she helped a lot. I also went to lunch on Father’s Day with my parents, brother, his fiancĂ© and my daughter. The weather was perfect here too, all in all it was a pretty awesome weekend! Today’s post is for the Paper Players who are celebrating their 100th challenge this week! Wow! 100 challenges, that’s pretty impressive!

This week you got to go through the archives and choose a previous challenge to base your card on. I chose challenge #88…

I started with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. Using my Big Shot I ran a piece of So Saffron Card Stock through it using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped images are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and the ballon is stamped in Not Quite Navy and cut out with my Paper Snips. I mounted it to a background of Pool Party that is embossed with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the winner tickets in Pool Party and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The happy birthday is also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Shaped Punch Pack to create the ticket corners. Behind that is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed using the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Along the bottom edge is a piece of Not Quite Navy that I punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. For a little something extra to help the Paper Players celebrate I made a matching box. The box is made uses the Simply Scored Scoring Tool which makes 3D projects a breeze. The paper bow was inspired by the cover of the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog. I really like them and I actually made a few of them and I’ll post them later in the week. It’s 1/2″ strips of Pool Party Card Stock and I used the happy birthday from the From My Heart Stamp Set to stamp the strips. I then flagged the ends of the bottom two strips and curled the top two pieces and formed some circles. It’s all stacked and adhered with Sticky Strip. The other images are from the same set I used on the card, You’re Amazing. I hope that you like this weeks Paper Players 100th Challenge card and box. Congratulations again the fabulous ladies over there and here’s to 100 more challenges! Have a great day! 🙂
