Paper Players #99

Hello peeps! How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was ok, at least the weather was nice. Have you left your comment on yesterday’s post to enter to win some blog candy? If not you get to the post here. So, head on back and leave a comment. The winner will be announced Friday morning! Now, for today’s post I have made another one of my 3D Window Cards for this week’s Paper Players. Lesley has given us the following color challenge…

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock cut to 12″ x 5 1/2″. If you want the full instructions on how to make the card contact me and I’ll be happy to send them to you. The background is a piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock that is embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamp is the World’s Greatest Wood Mount that I stamped twice in Lucky Limeade and cut out with my Paper Snips and then cut out the “World’s” and mounted it on Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the next layer I stamped the elephant from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set in Basic Grey and cut him out with my Paper Snips and stamped his hat again in Melon Mambo and cut that out and mounted it to him with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The friend is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Grey and backed with a piece of Basic Grey Card Stock. I stamped the small ticket image, also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set, in Basic Grey, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade quite a few times and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Punch. I then used some Two-Way Glue to adhere them around the frame of Crumb Cake Card Stock. I love the color combination and the You’re Amazing Stamp Set is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you, as always, for checking in. Have a great day!

Paper Players #98

Hello everyone and a good Monday morning to you. I hope that you all had a great weekend, I know I did. I had two meetings with friends about making invitations and my brother and his fiancée stopped by and picked their wedding invitations. I had a nice crafty Sunday! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks host is Jaydee and she has given us a theme challenge…

Summertime! As soon as I saw it I thought what says summertime better than a pinwheel! The base of the card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I ran a piece of Real Red Card Stock through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The pinwheel is made from a 3 1/4″ square piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. I used a Brights Collection 3/16″ Brad to secure all of the wings to the center. A piece of wooden dowel makes the handle and I tied a piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon to the middle. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies to cut it out. I adhered everything to the card with some Mini Glue Dots. It’s a relatively simple card to make and I love all of the bright colors.  I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank for stopping by. Have a great Monday! 🙂

Paper Players #97 and Summer Smooches

Good morning everyone! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend. Mine was good, I went to a BBQ and got to see a lot of my friends so that was pretty awesome. Thanks to Brian & Kim for hosting and for the delicious food. 🙂

Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. LeAnne has given us this sketch to work with…

In the spirit of the fun weekend that I had I decided to do a bright and colorful card. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock. I took two pieces of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper** and used those for the top part of the background. The bottom half is Bashful Blue and is embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used my Circle Scissor Pro*** to cut out a piece of Tangerine Tango Card Stock and another piece of Summer Smooches DSP** for the center. The butterfly is cut from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz L Die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit. The body of the butterfly is a paper bead also made from Summer Smooches DSP** and coated with Crystal Effects, it’s adhered with Mini Glue Dots. For the antennae I used a piece of Hemp Twine***. The flower is a 1″ Circle Punch of Tempting Turquoise and the middle circle is part of the eye from the Owl Builder Punch in Island Indigo. The leaves are made using the 1/2″ Circle punch and reinserting the paper to make the leaf shape. The greeting is form the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The buds are punched form Rich Razzleberry using the small circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the leaves are Lucky Limeade and are also made with the same punch and technique mentioned above. The greeting is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the buds with Mini Glue Dots. I think the bright colors fit in perfectly with weather that we had out here on Long Island this weekend. I hope that you enjoy this weeks Paper Players Challenge card and thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #96 and Sneak Peek

Happy Monday morning to everyone! I had a very nice day yesterday. I ran some errands, enjoyed the beautiful weather and got to play with my stamp stuff too! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players. I was honored that I was Anne Marie’s Pick of the Week for last weeks Challenge! You can see the post here and visit the Paper Player site here. This week we are asked to use polkadots…

So I did just that, and a lot of them! The base of the card is Chocolate Chip Card Stock. I ran a piece of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. The tiered cake image is from the Make A Cake* Stamp Set. The cake is stamped in Chocolate Chip and the flags and butterflies are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the new Bitty Banners Framelits Dies* to cut out the smaller banners in Chocolate Chip and cut them in half with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the back of the Cherry Cobbler frame with SNAIL. To the back of that I added a piece of Chocolate Chip cut 1/8″ smaller than usual and offset it and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Chocolate Chip 1/2 Inch Scallop Dots Ribbon make the perfect item to attach the greeting that is from the Itty Bitty Banners* Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies*. I love the rich color combination, you can almost taste the chocolate and smell the cherry cobbler! Thank you for stopping by and thanks to the Paper Players for their great challenges every week. Have an awesome day! 🙂

Paper Players #95 and Sneak Peek

Good Monday morning to everyone! Did you all have a nice weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day? I spent the day on Saturday with my daughter Taylor. She made a Mother’s day card for my mom and we went to lunch ran some errands. Sunday we had lunch with my parents and then I went to see my friend Chantal so all in all a good weekend! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. Ann has given us this great color combination to work with…

This was one of those cards that as soon as I saw this I knew what I was going to do. It happens rarely but I love when it does. I started with a base of Baja Breeze. The top and bottom strips are from the new Patio Party Designer Series Paper (2012-2013 IB&C) and the middle strip is Daffodil Delight that I ran through the Big Shot using the hearts from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The greeting and cupcakes are from the new Carry On Stamp Set (2012-2013 IB&C) that is available as one of the Host(ess) choices. I stamped them all in Poppy Parade (retired List) on Whisper White Card Stock. The greeting is backed with Poppy Parade Card Stock (Retired List) and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The cupcakes are punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and adhered with SNAIL. For the finishing touch I stamped the “AND” and used the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies (2012-2013 IB&C) to cut it out and used a Stampin’ Dimensional behind it for some pop. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Card and that you are looking forward to the new catalog. Have an awesome day and thank you for stopping by.

Paper Players #94

Good morning peeps! It’s been rainy here and just miserable, it’s supposed to clear up for the weekend let’s hope it does! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. They have asked us to celebrate our mothers…

Which is quite timely since Mother’s Day is this coming weekend and who doesn’t want to celebrate their mother?! I started with a base of Perfect Plum and used my Eyelet Border Punch to punch two sides of a piece of Rose Red Card Stock. I stamped the leaves image from the Fabulous Florets Stamp Set in Certainly Celery on Whisper White Card Stock. Then I stamped two of the solid image flowers in Rose Red and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The mom is from the retired Messages for Mom Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum, I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card. I stamped the greeting from the same set on Perfect Plum and flagged the ends with the 1″ Square Punch and adhered it with still more Stampin Dimensionals. I’m really liking the color combination and hope that you are inspired to make your mother a nice card for this Sunday. Thanks of dropping by and have a great day!

Paper Players #93

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend, I did. I got to see some friends in Manhattan and spent some time with my favorite daughter, wait she’s my only daughter, but she is still my favorite! 🙂 Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This weeks hostess is Leslie and she has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge. Pick three in a row to make your card…

I chose to go diagonal with Flowers, Pick Your Own (watercoloring) and Designer Paper (I made my own). The base of the card is Soft Suede. For my designer paper I took a piece of Very Vanilla and inked up the Parlor Prints Background Stamp in Rich Razzleberry. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Lucky Limeade and then embossed it using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The images and the greeting are from the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set. The cup is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and the pansy is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I CASE’d the image from Stampin’ Success. I used an Aqua Painter with Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade Ink to paint in the flowers and leaves. I stamped the image a second time, watercolored it, cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it on a piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut out the image and mounted it to the Lucky Limeade label with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies too and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I added a Basic Jewels Pearl to the center of the flower just for Ann! I hope that you enjoy the card and thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy your day!

Poppy Totally Tess 3D

Good morning and a happy Sunday to everyone. I’m off to Manhattan again today for a little bit in the morning and then hopefully spending some quality time with my stamps after that! My card from last weeks Paper Players Challenge was Ann’s Pick of the Week. You can see the card on the Paper Players site HERE. Thanks to all of the talented ladies over there!

Today’s project I made for a wonderful friend of mine Sandy. She is super talented and just the nicest person you could ever want to meet. You can check out her blog at www.stampwithsandy.com. I have made a few of these cards and I love them. I used the Totally Tess Stamp Set (Retired List) because I think that Sandy looks a little like Tess! I started with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock cut to 12″ x 5 1/2″. It is scored at 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 4″, 7″, 8″ and 11″. The two windows are cut out of the larger outside pieces. The inside “wallpaper” is from the no longer available Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration 2012. I stamped Tess and all of her accessories in Basic Black Ink and cut them out with my Paper Snips. The I Love Stamps on the bag is stamped in Poppy Parade and adhered to Tess with a Mini Glue Dot. The wood stamp and the card are stamped in Crumb Cake and the heart on the stamp is colored in with Cajun Craze. Tess is colored in with Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede Stampin Write Markers. The markers around the border of the front of the card are colored in with the 2011-2013 In-Color Markers and Not Quite Navy. Finally the greeting on the card is stamped in Poppy Parade and punched out with the Modern Label Punch. The two Poppy Parade paper dots are punched out with the Owl Builder Punch. Sandy loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thanks so much for stopping by, have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #92

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday! Hopefully the sun will stay out here on Long Island. Although it could be worse, I could be upstate, where they had snow! I’m not a fan of the white stuff so I’ll suffer through the rain. Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. They have given us the following wonderful sketch…

As I was rifling through my vast array of Stampin’ Up! goodies I saw the Just Believe Stamp Set. I got it a while ago and haven’t used it as much as I would like to. I also noticed that the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) looks somewhat similar to the stamp. That’s when the light went on! The base of the card is Whisper White and I added a piece of the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper (Occasions Mini) to the entire card front. I stamped the large image from the Just Believe Stamp Set in Island Indigo and mounted it on a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock that is the length of the card front. The other stamped image is again stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I punched a piece of Baja Breeze Card Stock with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to mount behind it. Some more Baja Breeze is punched on one edge with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. I used Stampin Dimensionals on the top one for a little lift and then adhered the circle image with them too. The greeting is punched out with the Word Window Punch and Mounted on a piece of Baja Breeze punched out with the Modern Label Punch and also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the subtle tones on the card and hope you enjoy it too. Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Paper Players #91

Good morning everyone and happy Monday to you! If I keep saying that maybe I’ll believe it! I hope that you all had a nice weekend, I know I did! I got a lot accomplished and got to see some of my peeps! Today’s card is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week they have given us this…

Clean and simple with watercoloring. Anytime that I only use three items to make a card it is definitely simple. As those of you that read these posts daily it’s not unusual for me to have 10 or more items listed in the supplies! I also used the 2010-2012 In-Colors that are retiring. I started off with a base of Concord Crush and to that I added a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I ran through my trusty Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate. For the main image on the card I stamped the flower from the Creative Elements Stamp Set in Jet Black Staz-on Ink on Watercolor Paper three times. I used my Aqua Painter and Poppy Parade Ink to watercolor in the flowers and then did some serious fussy cutting with my Paper Snips and cut them out in varying sizes so I would be able to layer them. Watercolor Paper is a bit thicker than standard card stock so it is definitely a workout for your hand when you cut things out of it! I used a couple of Mini Glue Dots to adhere it to the card and then Stampin Dimensionals for the two layers. The rest of the elements on the card are also from the Creative Elements Set and are stamped in Concord Crush. They too are cut out with my Paper Snip and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little more pop I edged the greeting with the Poppy Parade Stamp Pad. Creative Elements is one of my favorite sets and I’m happy to report that it will be in the new catalog! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you so much for stopping by!
