Magic Unicorn – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th

Another productive day yesterday! I got a lot of things checked off my to-do list and enjoyed the weather. It’s supposed to be rainy here this morning but clear up by the afternoon. Last night was a relaxing TV and read a book kind of night. Today I have some more around the house things to do and then when the weather clears up I think I will go and take a ride somewhere! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s time for my Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog at 11:00AM today. Be sure and stop by there too! It’s Concord & 9th’s 2 year anniversary this month so they will have lots of fun things panned! Look forward to celebrating along with them!

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the Concord & 9th Sunshine Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Soft Sky and trimmed it to cover the front of the card. The unicorn is from the Concord & 9th Unicorn Awesomeness Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored in the horn, mane, tail and hooves with Copics and used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. My clouds are cut out with another one of the Dies from the Unicorn Set. I adhered the back one with E-Z Runner and the top one with 3M Foam Tape. The unicorn is added and the greeting, also from the Unicorn Set is stamped in the lower left. That unicorn really is a great image and I especially like him with the sun rays and clouds! I hope that you like the card for my August Solo Post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog!ย Donโ€™t forget that you can follow us onย Instagramย andย Facebook! We are getting ready to start our next challenge on August 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you for that one and help us celebrate two years of fantastic and innovative products from Concord & 9th! Fab Friday 118

Hooray for Friday! The weather was just about perfect here yesterday again, we have been so lucky lately! I had some computer stuff to do in the morning and so I took the laptop and sat outside. I squeezed in a little cleaning and a few other household things in the afternoon. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. We had a few errands to run and met Stephanie at Target before heading back to Heather’s. George spent some time with us when he got home, we always have so much fun! Today I have some more computer stuff to do, hopefully outside again! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s a Fab Friday week and we have some nice bright colors for you…

I pulled out the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Set, haven’t used that one in a while, and made a one layer card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Across the bottom I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Soft Pool. The card is then placed in my Mini MISTI for the rest of the stamping. The flamingo is stamped in Soft Pink for the first layer and then Ultra Pink for the second and third. I stamped the legs, beak and greeting in Soft Granite. The grass is stamped in Lime Green with the water ripples added around them in Tide Pool. I added a little Black Glaze Pen to the eye and a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I do love a one layer card and the sequins again come in handy for filling in some of the space around the image! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your take on the colors in the gallery! Thanks for coming by and checking in with me today! Have a fabulous Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 299

That was a very quiet Wednesday. I guess they are good to have every so often. Taylor did come by in the evening and we watched a movie. This morning I do have a bunch of things to do and some errands to run. What are you up to today?! ๐Ÿ˜€

Another thing that I did do yesterday was make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

To start my card I adhered a piece of Desert Storm 80lb to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the left is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Story Teller 6×6 Paper Pad cut into strips to match the sketch. The large you is cut from a piece of Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Big You Die, it’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Onto another piece of Black I heat embossed the hello from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and adhered that to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A simple card with one of my favorite types of pattern paper, a map! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for coming by! Have an amazing Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 254

Another fabulous day! I actually ended up having a lot of stuff to do yesterday! I forgot that my car was supposed to be inspected at the end of July so I got that done… oops! I also had a few projects that I helped Jim with, keeps my mind sharp! He came by after work and we watched a movie and just relaxed. What a nice way to end a Tuesday! ๐Ÿ˜€

We are mid-week so it’s time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I can’t believe it but I couldn’t find anything more backyard BBQ than flowers! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Jellybean to the bottom and Surf Blue to the top. To mask off the areas I used a piece of Post-it Tape. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Artful Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I atamped the flowers in Black for the outline and added the centers with Duckling. My stems are stamped in Jellybean and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The stems are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is cut from a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock and Black 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die. I used Multi-Purpose Spray to adhere them to each other and the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins fill in some of the space around the flowers and the card is done! I do love a nice simple crisp card, I think this one fits the bill! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for visiting! SIP Challenge 110 – Primary Colors!

Another Monday for the books! I was relatively productive, got a few things done in the morning, did a little cleaning and some reading. After dinner I ran to BJ’s with Heather and bumped into Andrew’s Parents. So nice to see them! I have no idea what’s on for today but I’m sure that it will be a good time! ๐Ÿ˜€

It’s Tuesday so time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I went with a shade of one of the colors! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the large and small hearts and greeting from the Concord & 9th Cuddles & Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set on the inside and outside of the card in Bubblegum and Black Licorice. I also stamped an additional greeting on the inside. To cut out the heart on the outside I used the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Dies. All that was left to do was to add Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Watermelon Sequins! A simple card that is stepped up with the negative die cut on the front! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Primary Colors Challenge! We hope to see your card in the gallery so stop by the BLOG for a little more inspiration! Paper Players 355

As predicted most of yesterday was quiet. I read a little in the morning and then around 3:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s to celebrate Kim’s brother Kevin’s birthday! Heather and George were there so I spent most of my time with them. We had fun and it was good to see everyone! Taylor came by and spent the rest of the night with me, we watched a little TV. This morning I’m going to get some cleaning done! Ahh… Mondays! ๐Ÿ˜€

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

I went diagonal from top left to bottom right. My card started by me using the Concord & 9th Aloha Fill0In Stencils and some Sunflower and Lobster Ink to color the Concord & 9th Aloha Fill-In Patterned Paper. I trimmed it to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 ย and then used the Simon Says Stamp Nesting Circles to cut out a piece from the left side. It’s adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Then I placed it in my Mini MISTI and stamped the greeting from the Concord & 9th Aloha Friend Photopolymer Stamp Set in Sunflower inside the negative space of the circle. A few Teresa Collins Red Enamel Dots complete the card! I love the Fill-In Papers and how you can make them any color that you want! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! Thank you for starting another one of your weeks off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Sweet Blackberry Birthday Wishes

What a nice Saturday I had! It rained for a little while in the morning but stopped by 10:00. I took a ride over to Jim’s to drop off some things and we ended up working on another project. This time we took two old wooden crates that he had in the garage and sanded the paint splatters off of them. We did a wash of a grey paint and then he had the genius idea of going over it with some black shoe polish to darken it up a bit! Here is what they looked like before we started…

And here is the finished product…

We just need to put legs on it and then it will be an end table for his den! I love the way the piece turned out! Who knew that refinishing furniture could be so much fun?! ๐Ÿ˜€

I was inspired by the color of the wood from yesterday’s project for today’s card! The background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background on in Black. It’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cone in Soft Brown and Cup O joe and the ice cream in Passion Flower and Grape Juice. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of 65lb Vellum and adhered behind the background. I added the cone and ice cream with 3D Foam Squares and a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Sand Sequins to finish the card! I love the fun gray woodgrain with the neat ice cream cone! I hope that you like today’s card and the end table! Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been up to! Have a simple Sunday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Orage You Sweet 16

Another nice day yesterday but some rain this morning. I went over to Heather’s early and spent the day with her catching up on some things while she worked. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s, they needed a ride to a wedding so I drove them over to Floral Park and then came home and watched TV. Today will be a quiet day I hope! ๐Ÿ˜€

One of my friends asked me to make a card for a sweet 16 so this is what I came up with. It was inspired by a card that I saw on the Concord & 9th site! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the Sweet from the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set in Carrot Ink. The crate is from the Concord & 9th Petals & Palettes Dies. I cut it from a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and stamped the woodgrain in Doe. The leaves are from the Petals Set and are stamped in Noble Fir on Noble Fir Card Stock and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I stamped the oranges in Carrot on Fake Tan and cut those out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the crate, oranges and leaves to the card leaving room in the crate to stick in a gift card. The 16 is cut from more Fake Tan with the Hero Arts Classic Numbers Frame Cuts and adhered to the lower right on the crate. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and American Crafts Orange Sequins finish the card! I love the sweet 16 with the oranges, a different take on a birthday card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks for coming by! Have a super Saturday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks a Bunch of Petals

Oh boy! It’s Friday! Yay! My day yesterday wasn’t as productive as the previous few but I did get a few things done. I was thwarted by a little visit from my buddy Daniel! He came over to get me and I went over to my Parent’s and spent some time with him and Tristan! She is trying to say uncle and it’s so cute, she’s almost there!

Isn’t she just the cutest?!?! Around 5:00 I headed over to Jim’s to help him clean out the garage and move a china cabinet into the basement. We got it all finished and it looks great! A little pizza for dinner and then some TV before calling it a night. This morning I have a bunch of computer stuff to get done, I think they said rain but who knows! ๐Ÿ˜€

Today I have a nice simple thank you card to share with you! I used the Concord & 8th Petals & Palettes Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Peachy Keen and the leaves in Freshly Cut Grass. I cut out three of the flowers and the leaves with the Coordinating Dies and stamped two of the flowers right onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The leaves are adhered with Dot Runner Adhesive and the three die cut flowers with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in the same two ink colors and that’s it! I keep saying how much I love to just stamp, you get some fun cards and I get use my ink!! I hope that you like today’s card! I think you so much for your continued visits and wish you all a fun filled Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 298

I successfully completed the trifecta of productive days! Sue was over yesterday and we got a lot more stuff out of the Stampin’ Galley! All that’s left to do is take pictures and get it up on the Etsy site! We took a break and went out and had a quick lunch. After she left I did some chores around the house and then had dinner before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Once I got back home I made my card for today and watched some TV. Today I have some more projects to work on, it’s good to stay busy don’t you think?! ๐Ÿ˜€

That card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Another pretty simple card using the Concord & 9th Orange You Sweet Photopolymer Stamp Set! On my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I masked off the center strip and stamped the images in Carrot and Black Licorice. To define the strip I used my ruler and Copic Pen to draw black lines on either side. The upper right has a piece of Fake Tan Card Stock. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in the same colors using my Mini MISTI. It needed a little something more so I added Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the orange panel! Not very complicated and yes, you can tell how much I love that Set can’t you?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for coming by! Have a fun Thursday! ๐Ÿ™‚
