Golden Hugs – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th

Hi all! I hope that you had a happy and safe Independence Day! I started my day yesterday by picking up my friend Chantal and heading over to Long Beach. Her Granddaughter takes surfing lessons so we went to watch. While we were there we saw a whole bunch of Dolphins in the water just off the beach. Who knew that we had Dolphins in the waters here?! You can see the kids in the water…

Before heading back Chantal and I had a nice brunch at a local restaurant. It was great to get to spend some time with her! I dropped her off and then stopped by my house before heading over to Stephanie’s for a BBQ. There were a bunch of my peeps there and we had a really nice time! Today I have some crafting to do and a lot of cleaning. 😀

Be sure and stop by there too! I did another card with a bunch of layers! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the Concord & 9th Select-A-Size Edge Dies to cut a piece of Lobster and Gold Mirror Card. On the Lobster I heat embossed the hugs from the Concord & 9th Cuddles & Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The two layers are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner Ultra Strong. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love the edge dies and the nice simple hugs greeting! Paper Players 351

It was a nice day here yesterday, in the high 80’s with lots of sun. I decided that it was important for me to be outside and enjoy it so I didn’t get as much done as I had wanted to but I still did manage to accomplish some things. I crafted for a bit and got a few things done on the computer. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again for the better part of the day. A nice way to start off my week! 😀

Monday and I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

I began by stamping the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Photopolymer Stamp onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with some Lawn Fawn Merman Ink. My two hearts are die cut from Merman and Bluejay Card Stock using the Concord & 9th Heartstrings Dies. On the Merman one I used the Concord & 9th All About You Dies to cut out the word YOU. The celebrate is cut from another piece of Bluejay and adhered to the heart with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I adhered the Bluejay heart to the card front with E-Z Runner and then used 3M Foam Tape to adhered to the Merman one adding the YOU back into the center. A few Pretty Pink Posh Cobalt Sequins complete the card! It’s a nice simple layout and I love the die cut YOU from the heart! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Simple Watercolor Hello

Yesterday was another one of those I imagined I would get more done that I actually did days. I have been having way too many of those lately, that needs to change! I did run a few errands with Heather in the afternoon. She made George and I a late lunch and after that I came back home and worked on my card for today. I will definitely be more productive today! If I say it it will happen! LOL! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today. I started out by using my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to add three stripes of color to a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I did set it aside to dry and watched a little TV but it was getting ready to rain here so it was a little on the damp side and I grew impatient! The drying time was sped up with my Heat Tool! The flower, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black. I did mask the flower to get the leaves a little closer to it. All that was left to do was to use Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhered it to a card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Freshly Made Sketches 294

The weather was pleasant again here yesterday and so was the ride into the city on the train! I had a very nice visit with Jon and Mary, Jon had a little bit of a cold so he was nice enough to keep his distance! Before I got on the train to come home I did a little shopping. I have a wedding to go to tonight and needed something to wear! My friend Jen is getting married. I used to change her diapers when she was a baby! Boy I’m old! LOL! Should be a fun way to spend a Thursday evening! 😀

The card that I have to share with you today is the one that I made for the wedding! It’s also for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

To start the card I stamped some images from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flower is stamped onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and the leaves onto some Desert Storm, both in Black. I cut the flower out with my Scissors and adhered it to the Desert Storm panel with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hello Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Black. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and to that I added a panel of Black 110lb and a strip of Black Glitter Tape. The Desert Storm panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give it some shine and the card is done! I really like the flower and leaves in the stamp set and I did try and coordinate the card a little with the invitation! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Paper Craft Crew 250

Hey there! Another morning that started off with some rain but then finished nice and sunny! I got a few things completed that I wanted to finish in the morning. I also got a little cleaning done! Last night I went with Heather and Stephanie to see George play softball. They lost the first game but were winning the second when we left! This morning I’m off to Manhattan again, this time to see Mary! Should be another fun day in the city! 😀

Well, let’s see… it’s Wednesday so time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

Today’s card starts off with a card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Photopolymer Stamp in Soft Vanilla right onto the front. My ice pops are from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are stamped in Aquatic, Crimson and Green Apple Hybrid Ink and then heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. My sticks are cut from some leftover Kraft that I heat embossed with clear using the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background. I adhered the sticks to the popsicles and then them to the card. I stamped my greeting, also from the Sweet & Cool Set, in Cup O Joe. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets on the ice pops and the card is done! I love the effect that you get when you clear emboss over the Hybrid ink! They really do look good enough to eat! SIP Challenge 105 – Summer Fun!

I had a lovely first half of the day in Manhattan yesterday with Isabella! I missed her! We got all caught up and I got to see her new office too! So nice! I took the 3:07 train home and Taylor picked me up at the train station and we spent the rest of the day together. We ran a few errands and had some sushi for dinner. Today I need to get crafty and make some cards for the week! I also need to get all caught up on my blog comments! I’m way behind!! 😀

Its Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Lake Shores Ink to give it some subtle color. Next up is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I added Sunkist to and then cut out with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. That is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My boat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped both with my Mini MISTI and then cut out the sailboat with the Coordinating Dies and adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is adhered to a piece of 65lb Vellum that I used the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves to cut the top of. A piece 3M Foam Tape is hidden behind it to adhere it to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I love using my inks to make card stock the exact color that I want, so much fun! Paper Players 350

And back to reality! I did have one of the best weekends in recent memory! We all had so much fun at Jim’s country house on the lake! The traffic was a little horrendous on the way home but that’s New York! We did stop for a little lunch and I got back to my house around 4:30. I decompressed for a bit and then Taylor came by and we ran a few errands and got Wendy’s for dinner. I also made my card for today! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Isabella! It’s been way too long! 😀

That card that I made is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Delicate Petals Stencil with my Stencil Brush and some Lime Green Ink to add a little color to the background. Down the left side is a strip of Night of Navy. The Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies are used to cut out a piece of Lime and I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Ultra Strong. My butterflies are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped them in Tide Pool and Navy using my Mini MISTI and then cut them out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. It’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto another strip of Night of Navy. All of the butterflies and greeting are adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I really am enjoying my stencils and brush, such an easy way to add some color to a card! CAS Birthday Pocket

Another lovely day at the lake! The weather has been really nice and sunny, it has been the perfect weekend to be up here! Yesterday we hung around the house for a while and then sat down by the lake for a long time. Jim made dinner and a bunch of people came by. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and we will be leaving to go back home later on today. All in all it has been a wonderful weekend! 😀

While I was sitting thinking of what card I wanted to make the other day and what stamp set to use I remembered this oldie but goodie that I have! I stamped the images and greeting from the W Plus 9 A Pocketful Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Licorice onto Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The images have solid dies so I did my die cutting first. The pocket is adhered to my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with 3M Foam Tape and the Birthday is stamped next to it. I slid a gift card into the pocket and done! Quick Thank You X 2!

I’m still on lake time! What a nice weekend! Yesterday we went for a nice long walk in the morning and visited the falls. I’m having issues getting pictures uploaded so I’ll share more of them on Monday with you. We also wandered around a few antique stores and went for ice cream after dinner! I have to tell you that it’s very nice to type my post with that lovely view of the lake! 😀

Today I have two really simple thank you cards to share with you! The greetings and hearts are from the May 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped them in Lime Green and Tide Pool, alternating the colors so that they had a bit more interest. To step them up a little bit I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins from the Share Kindness Mix, that’s it! Really simple cards but who wouldn’t want to get one in the mail?! Fab Friday 115

I’m a little late this morning because I’m on country time! After my fun morning in the city yesterday I took the train out to Rockville Center and Jim picked me up at the station. We stopped back at his house, picked up the bags and headed for Waymart, PA. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to get here but was well worth the ride! This is my current view this morning…

It so peaceful and relaxing here, I can see why Jim likes is so much. We went down by the lake for a bit and just sat there…

Last night we sat by the fire pit and just looked up at the stars, you forget how many there are because out here you can see them all! Today, who knows but I’m sure it will be fun! 😀

Now I have a little bit of craftiness to share with you in the way of my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge…

I used the June My Monthly Hero Kit again! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Stamp Dies to cut out a piece of Hello Honey for my background. On top of that is a strip of Mossy Meadow with the ends flagged and then a really thin strip of Black. My images and greeting are from the June My Monthly Hero Kit and are stamped in Black onto a piece of Tangelo Twist and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner Ultra. That’s it!
