Freshly Made Sketches 293

I’m sure that with all of the nice weather we have had here for the past few days we are due for some rain soon. I managed to get a lot of crating done in the morning yesterday and also did some wash. A quick dinner with the ‘rents and then a trip to Walmart with Taylor. After that I ran over to Jim’s to help him with some things. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see Ella and then I’ll take the train back to Rockville Center, meet up with Jim and then head off to Pennsylvania for a long weekend! Ahh… to be away for a while will be good! πŸ˜€

Today I have a simple masculine card to share with you today for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge but before we get to that I want to thank CΓ©cile for choosing me as her King of Clean for last week’s challenge!

You can see my original post HERE and the winners post HERE! Now for this week…

To start I pulled out the piece of Black that was heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear and White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder using the Concord & 9th Triangle Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp, it was left over from a card that I made a few weeks ago. I adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the right is a piece of Galvanized Curious Metallic, I used the Concord & 9th Select-A-Size Edges Dies to trim the left side and then heat embossed the greeting from the Concord & 9th Happy Words Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Black Sparkle Embossing Powder. That’s it! A nice simple masculine card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting and hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some PA pics for you! Enjoy your Thursday! πŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 249

Wow! It’s Wednesday already?! We did have a very nice day here yesterday with lots of sun! I spent most of the day with Sue working on Etsy stuff. We went to Panera for lunch and I had my grilled cheese and tomato soup! In the evening Jim came by and I made us some nice big salads with grilled chicken, olives, avocado, tomatoes, cucumber, croutons and blue cheese dressing. Taylor came by and chatted with us for a bit and we finished the evening off with a few YouTube videos. Today I have a lot of stuff to get done! I found out that I will be away for the weekend! WEE! πŸ˜€

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I was going through my stamps and came across this old but goodie! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Hero Arts Wave Stencil and my Stencil Brush to apply some Tide Pool Ink to the lower left. Across the lower part is a piece of Copper Tape. My circle is cut from a piece of Blueprint Curious Metallic with the Hero Arts Circle Infinity Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The images and greeting are from the Hero Arts July 2016 My Monthly Hero Kit. I stamped the coral and jellyfish in Tide Pool and did the second layer of the jellyfish in Copper Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the circle. My greeting is heat embossed onto a piece of 48lb Vellum with White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins and done! I still love that jellyfish, makes for a nice different image on a card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wondrous Wednesday! πŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 104 – Colors!

It started out as a beautiful sunny day but around 5:00 the heavens opened and we had rain for the rest of the evening. I did get a little crafting done in the morning and then ran a few errands in the convertible! I also helped Jim with some computer stuff remotely in the evening and Taylor came by to spend some time with me. Later on we ran to BJ’s with Heather so she could use her coupons before they expired! She is too funny! I’m going to have breakfast with Heather this morning and then over to Sue’s for a little bit to work on some Etsy stuff! πŸ˜€

Now it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

A nice bright cheery group of colors, wouldn’t you say?! I’m still keeping it simple! To start my card is used my MISTI to stamp the solid part of the “feathers” from the Simon Says Stamp One With Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set in High Dive, Goldenlocks and Hot Mama ink. After they had dried I stamped the outlines in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Hot Mama in the lower right corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins finish the card! I know that the “feathers” are trees but I think they work pretty well! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink. Paper Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and lets see yours in the gallery! Paper Players 349

Another quick weekend done! I hope that you all enjoyed your Father’s Day! I had a nice quiet day, did some laundry in the morning and spent some time with Dad. Taylor came by in the afternoon and we had dinner and watched a little TV. I think it’s supposed to rain again today, guess I will try and get some card making in! πŸ˜€

Let’s start the week off with my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I really have been enjoying making clean and simple cards lately! Today is another simple one layer one! To my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped some images and a greeting from the Concord & 9th Birdie Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Licorice and Moonstone Ink. I added some Black Gel pen to the eyes and some gold to their beaks. The background needed a little something so I took my Uni-ball Gold Gel Pen and added some dots. That’s it! A super simple card using minimal supplies! It would be a great one to make into a set to give to someone too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for starting another week off her with me! Have a magnificent Monday! πŸ™‚

White Bengal Birthday

It was a rainy and wet day in Manhattan yesterday. They said drizzle, no, more like torrential! But a day in the city can’t be ruined by a little rain! I had lunch with my friend Kim at a really good Hummus place on 55th Street. From there we walked down towards Grand Central and went to Urban Space and had a Hibiscus Donut and some coffee. It was quite yummy! Here is a little picture of the donuts…

We hung out at her apartment for a bit before I headed back out to the Island. Taylor stopped by for a visit when I got home. A little TV before bed and that was my day! Oh, it’s Father’s Day today! LOL! Happy Father’s Day! πŸ˜€

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today! Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the grass from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bengal Tiger Photopolymer Stamp Set in Green Fields and Forever Green along the bottom. The tiger is stamped in Soft Vanilla and Black onto some Solar White 80lb using my Mini MISTI and then I cut him out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. He is adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black in the top right corner. That’s it! I thought that the tiger would be fun stamped in white as opposed to the usual orange! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a simple and fun Sunday! πŸ™‚

Huge Thanks

Hey there! Happy Saturday to you! We had a rainy drizzly day here yesterday. I spent most of it in the house watching TV, it was just one of those kinds of days. I did go over and have dinner with my Parents and later on in the evening Taylor came by and we watched Dr. Strange. Today I’m off to Manhattan again this time to see my friend Kim! Should be a good day! πŸ˜€

My card that I have to share with you today uses the June My Monthly Hero Kit! I used my MISTI to repeatedly stamp some of the elephants in Wet Cement onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock along with a larger one onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The single elephant is cut out with the Coordinating Die. I stamped the grass along the bottom to even out the card. The sunset die is used to cut out a piece of Orange Vellum and I heat embossed my greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in the upper left. The large elephant is adhered to the Vellum with 3M Foam Tape and then the vellum to the card with Vellum Adhesive. I love the outlines of all of the elephants, especially the big one in front of the sunset! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for visiting! Have a super Saturday! πŸ™‚

Explore the City Streets

A very happy Friday to all of you! It was another beautiful day, especially since I was in Manhattan for the early part of the day! I saw my friend Ella in the morning and then went down to meet up with my friend Chantal. I went up to her office and got to see my friend Maureen for a bit. We got all caught up and then Chantal and I headed out to lunch. We went to EmpellΓ³n and had amazing guacamole and tacos! I managed to make it back to Penn and caught the 1:14 train back out to the Island. There wasn’t anyone to pick me up so I walked back home, only about 25 minutes, not bad. I could use the exercise too! Later on Jim came by and we changed the cabin air filter in his daughter’s car and got some BK for dinner. Taylor came by and hung out with us for a bit and then we watched a little TV. I’m going to make an attempt to get some projects done today! We’ll see how that goes! πŸ˜€

I have been having fun with stencils and the stencil brush lately so I have another card to share with you today using them! To my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added some Soft Granite Ink over the Hero Arts Map Grid Stencil using my Stencil Brush. Down the left side is a piece of Black Glitter Washi Tape. I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies to cut out a piece of Desert Storm. The greeting is from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it onto the circle and two of the coffee cups from the same set onto Solar White 80lb. The bands on the cups are colored in with Copics and I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered them to the circle with 3M Foam Tape. The circle is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. That’s it! Another simple card stepped up a little with the fun stenciled background! I hope that you like today’s card! Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some of your Friday here! Have a fantastic day! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 292

What began as a rainy morning turned into a beautiful day! The sun came out and it was in the high 70’s, very pleasant! I managed to get a bunch of cards made in the morning and did a little cleaning too! Around 1:00 Sue and Michael came to get me so that we could go out to lunch. We went to the Diner and got all caught up! I had an early Thirsty Thursday over at Heather’s with Stephanie. Jim called to let me know that there were a bunch of palettes over by his house so we got my Dad’s truck and headed over to pick them up. He and I are going to make some headboards with them! We stopped by his house for a bit before coming back and dropping the palettes off by me. This morning I’m headed into Manhattan to see my friend Ella for a bit! It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the city, should be nice! πŸ˜€

One of my cards that I made yesterday is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A super simple sketch calls for a super simple card! I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies to cut out a piece of 29lb, Cobalt and Gold Vellum. They are adhered to each other and to the card with Tombo Vellum Adhesive. My lovely is cut from American Crafts Gold Glitter Card Stock with the one of the dies from the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Set. I used Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere it to the card and that’s it! I love the retro modern look and simplicity of the card! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for stopping by and catching up! Have an awesome Thursday! πŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 248

It was another hot one here yesterday but I’m not complaining! It’s supposed to be cooler today, but hopefully it won’t stay that way! I puttered around in the morning and in the afternoon I went over to Stephanie’s to dangle my legs in the pool for a while! After that I came back home and Jim stopped by around 5:00. We went next door to see my Parent’s for a bit and then ran to Lowes to look at pond stuff. A little TV before bed and that was my day! πŸ˜€

Let’s see… Wednesday and we have a new Paper Craft Crew challenge for you…

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to do! To create my background I stamped the images from the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Aquatic and Green Apple Hybrid Ink using my MISTI onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. That is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the greeting I stamped the wishing you onto the card base in Black and then the rest is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto a piece of Black 110lb. I cut the end on an angle and adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I hoarded some of the Pretty Pink Posh Share Handmade Kindness Sequins Mix and the colors worked perfectly with the ink so I added a few to complete the card! I love the green and blue together and the mandalas make a nice background! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! I thank you for stopping by today! Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 103 – A Sketch!

Another nice warm day with plenty of Sun! That’s a good way to start off the week, wouldn’t you say?! I got my craft on this morning and made a few cards, cleaned a little and set up some appointments for later in the week. I also made sure that I spent a lot of time outside enjoying the gorgeous day! After dinner I ran over to Heather’s to drop off the chairs that I borrowed. When I got back to my house Taylor stopped by for a bit and then some TV before bed. Not a bad Monday at all! πŸ˜€

I played with the new Hero Arts June My Monthly Hero Kit and some of the add-ons for my Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge card…

I started my card by creating a background using some Hero Arts Navy and Grape Juice Ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool to add color to a piece of Solar White 80lb. While it dried I cut out the circle with clouds from another piece of Solar White 80lb using one of the dies included in the Hero Arts June My Monthly Hero Kit. Next I stamped the grass and tall grass using some Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto the background and then adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I added a little Soft Granite to the edges of my “moon” and then adhered that to the background. The cool cat is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bengal Tigers Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Butter to Orange Ombre and Intense Black using my Mini MISTI. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut him out and adhered him to the card with 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Intense Black onto the “moon” and the card is done! I love the way the Hero Arts Inks even out as they dry, even when you blend them onto paper! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! We hope that you will share your take on the sketch with us in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! πŸ™‚
