Freshly Made Sketches 254

Ahh… the weekend! I remember when I used to have off on the weekend! LOL! What a fun time we had at Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The Friday night bunch is always a little rowdy and that makes it more fun! Dianne, Melissa, Christine, Danielle, Brian, Sandy, Dena and Nancy all came and made the Lawn Fawn Cards! Brian brought Taylor with him because she wanted to take the ride to the airport with me to get my parents. We finished up by 9:30 and we got to the airport early so we sat on a creepy side street and waited until they were ready. The JetBlue terminal at JFK is always busy, especially downstairs at Arrivals so I told them to meet me upstairs at Departures! In and out in no time! They did really enjoy themselves and were so happy with the flights and the hotel! My mum said that she would like whoever straightened up the room everyday to come and do her house too! Today I have some more classes to plan and projects to create! Love Saturday’s at the Store!

So after a week of the Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies from Concord & 9th today I have a card using some Hero Arts for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-254

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock, seems to be a favorite of mine lately! LOL! For my background I used some patterned paper, the pink one is part of the Fabulous line from Authentique and the other one I believe is also Authentique, not sure which line it’s from though. I die cut a piece of Dark Molasses with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The Fairy is from the My Monthly Hero Kit for August and is stamped in Onyx Black and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Pentel Aquash Water Brush. I cut her out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered her to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A generous does of Clear Sparkle Pen is added to her wings and dress. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Set, I also cut out some of the berries. The Merry Christmas is cut again from Ivory 110lb. I adhered it to the Gold Mirror Card and then to the card with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The berries are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium along with some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card! I still really like the Fairies from the August Kit and the wreath is sure to be one of my favorite dies for the fall and winter! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a serene Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 96

It was so cold here last night! Down to 65!! It’s too early for that! LOL! The day was nice and sunny and warm! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was great! I even got a card made in between classes and worked on some ideas for upcoming classes! Andrew and Kayleigh came and they got me two awesome birthday cards and a gift card to the Apple Store! My friend Ebony gave me an amazing shaker card too! I’m going to post some of the Birthday cards that I received over the weekend! I meant to do it this week but things just got busy! Second day of Card Class today and I have to somehow find a way to get my Parent’s from the airport tonight. They are having a great time and my Mum even said that she can believe that they come home already. I’m so happy that they went away and got to really enjoy themselves!

Well, as luck would have it it’s a Fab Friday and this tome we have some colors for you…

fab-fri-96-9-16-2016

Today is my last day of the challenge that Linda came up with, five days with one stamp and die set! I really did have fun doing it and I love the set! My card for today begins with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the wheat image from the Concord and 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Soft Vanilla right on the card front. My tag is cut out of more Ivory 110lb using the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies. I wanted the reinforcement to be green so I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Emerald Green Ink to color the card stock. I stamped the wheat again in Hero Arts Mustard Ink and then added the detail layer with more Emerald Green. The sentiment is from the same set and is heat Embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum that is then adhered around the back of the tag. Tied through the top of the tag is a long piece of May Arts Natural Twine. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Then added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little more shine! I wasn’t too sure about the colors but after I made the card I really do like them together! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thanks for spending a little of your Friday with me! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

Paper Players 312

We had a nice little storm that passed through yesterday evening here. It started out nice and sunny and then out of nowhere, heavy rain and in about an hour it was finished. Saved me from having to water my Parent’s lawn! My day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was nice and productive. I managed to get two cards made! Sue came up around 1:00 and helped me cut for Card Class. We had that finished pretty quickly! After work I drove over to Heather’s in that lovely heavy rain. It’s funny because in the convertible it sounds like you are under an umbrella! I picked up Heather, we stopped at my house so I could drop off my bags and let Winston out and then we ran to BJ’s. From there it was back to her house where she made me a nice salad for dinner. We then sat outside and enjoyed the evening. Today is the first day of the Lawn Fawn Card Class for this month! Can’t wait to see all of the peeps making the cards!

One of the cards that I made at the Store yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge

paper-players-312

Today is day for of my friend Linda’s challenge, one more day to go! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies to cut out some more Ivory 110lb. They are colored with Hero Arts Just Rust, Mustard and Green Hills using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I adhered them to the card in a circle using Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A cluster of three is adhered in the upper right and a May Arts Natural Twine Bow that Renee tied for me is adhered to the cluster with Multi-Matte Medium. I then adhered the cluster to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and used my Scissors to cut it out. More 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. It wouldn’t be a card of mine without a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, today some Rose Gold ones! I love the nice color variation that you get from adding the ink to the card stock after you die cut it and I think the thanks looks so cool cut out and popped up! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you for stopping but to see me today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 211

Yes, another gorgeous day! Not too hot again, well, I like it pretty warm so it was in the 80’s, not too hot by my standards! I had a very productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got some much needed administrative stuff done and managed to get my newsletter sent out! Brian and my friend Dave stopped by the store! What a nice surprise that was! After work I went over to AT&T and met up with Heather and Stephanie. Heather is getting a new iPhone 7, it’s being shipped out on the 20th. After that I took Stephanie home and Heather and I went over to Brian and Kim’s. We sat outside and got all caught up! Around 9:30 Heather and I left and picked up Domino’s Pizza and had a very late dinner at her house. Today I have to cut for class, Sue is going to stop by and help me! She’s the best!

It’s Wednesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

pcccs211-dt-sketch-9-14-2016

Today is day three of Linda’s challenge, two more days to go! I started my card off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. next up is a piece of patterned paper, I think that it’s Authentique! I took a piece of Dark Molasses and heat embossed the thanks from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and adhered it to the patterned paper. My leaves are die cut from Gold Mirror Card, Lemon Sorbet and Candied Yam using the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I also flagged the end of a strip of Gold Mirror Card and put a little May Arts Natural Twine behind it and adhered it with 3D Foam Squares. In the top left is another piece of Lemon Sorbet with both ends flagged, also adhered with 3D Foam Squares. My leaves are adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Lemon Drop and Tangerine Sequins completes the card. A nice fall card, I’m loving how versatile the challenge set is! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Visit the BLOG for more inspiration from the rest of the Team and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a happy Hump Day! 🙂

SIP Challenge 65 – Monochromatic!

To say that my day yesterday was rough is an understatement. It was a Monday to the 10th power. The reason for most of it… let’s just say that my Parent’s ran into more than a few issues once they arrived in Florida. I had to speak to the rental car company and then they got lost… for three hours! Sigh… it would have been so much easier if I had just gone with them! Everything is all fixed now, thank god! The day didn’t start off half bad. The ride to a from the airport was a little longer than I would have liked it to have been but I was mentally prepared for that. Renee got me a nice cake and gave me a really nice card, it was one of mine! LOL! My friend Patty brought me balloons! After work I came home and saw Taylor for a bit and then had peanut butter and jelly on waffles for dinner. Sue stopped by and dropped off a lovely shaker card and a Starbucks Gift Card, my favorite! I was so exhausted by the end of the day I didn’t have the energy to take pictures of some more of the lovely cards that I received so I will post those tomorrow. Thank you all for the Birthday wishes, they truly were the highlight of my day!

It is Tuesday… right?! 😀 Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

sip-challenge-65-monochromatic

I went with Ivory for my color! This is also day two of my challenge from Linda to use the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped my greeting and the hearts from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink. The greeting is stamped with my Mini MISTI, I did it four times to make sure I got a nice layer of ink, especially since it’s a very light color! Over the top of the stamped hearts are the leaves die cut from more Ivory 110lb using the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I cut off the stems and adhered them to the stamped images with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A nice simple scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. I really am loving this set even more than I did before! So many things that you can do with the elements! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Monochromatic Challenge! We would love to have you go over and visit the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Even better, enter your card in the gallery and share your creativity with us! Thanks for coming by today! I hope we all have a fantastic Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 465

Hmm… I wonder what today is? Why it’s my Birthday! LOL! And what am I doing this morning? Why, taking my Parent’s to the airport so they can go to Orlando and meet up with Aunt, Uncle and Cousins from England! Happy Birthday to me… wait.. LOL! Kidding! I hope they have a great time! We had another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, day two of Renee’s Crop! One of my buddies, Linda, thought that it would be fun to challenge me to use one stamp and die set for the next five days to make cards! And she got to pick out which one! So, for the next five days I will be using the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Stamp Set and Layering Leaves Dies! This should be fun! She also made this really cool card to send to her daughter who is away at school in Ohio…

linda-e-o-hi-o-card

Isn’t that clever! I wish that I had someone in Ohio to send a card to! And she made me a birthday card…

linda-e-bday-card

LOVE IT! My favorite Gold Mirror Card and sequins! Thank you so much Linda! I’ll post some more of the cards that I get tomorrow! After work I came home and got the boarding passes loaded onto my Parent’s iPhones, set the DVR to tape Mum’s shows and spent some time with Taylor before I headed over to see Sue. She is having computer issues so we determined that her PC needs to be re-formatted. In the mean time I lent her the Mac mini that I have. Time to make another switcher! She was reluctant at first, but after I won all of the arguments against it she’s going to give it a try! After the airport I’ll be off to the Store for another fun filled day of craftiness! Wee! 😀

What better way to celebrate my birthday than with this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

mojo465

So, I started my card off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of Dark Molasses Card Stock. The background is a piece of Candied Yam and I heat embossed one of the images from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder to create a background. Next up is a piece of PhotoPlay This Guy Paper with the corners rounded. The strip is another piece of Candied Yam coated in more Brass Embossing Powder. Onto a piece of Wildflower Honey I embossed another image from the set in more Brass Embossing Powder, rounded the corners and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The piece of wheat is die cut from more Candied Yam with the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies and heat embossed three times with the Brass Embossing Powder. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. My sentiment is also heat embossed in… yup… you guessed it, more Brass and cut out with one of the circle dies from the new Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies. Of course, there had to be some Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to add a little more sparkle! I’m actually glad that Linda picked this set, it’s one of my favorites from the last release! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s creations and enter your’s in the gallery! Thank you for spending some of my Birthday with me today! Have a very happy Monday! 🙂

Golden Skyline Congrats

Crop days at the store are always fun! I got to do another MISTI Demo, this time with my friend Evelyn! We stamped out the Vintage Roses from Altenew in the lovely Cool Summer Nights Crisp Ink! I can’t wait to see the layout that she adds them to! I worked on my card and showed my friend Linda the finished product. She will be a little surprised to see that I changed it! After work I stopped home and saw Taylor, Daniel and Tristan for a little bit before I headed out to my party! When I walked in the house Daniel ran over to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss! There is no better greeting in the world! My brother and his wife had date night! Aww… so cute! The party that I went to last night was my friend Adam’s 40th. All of my peeps were there so we had a very nice time! Today is the second day of the crop! More shenanigans at the store! 😀

Like I had mentioned, I worked on my card while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Kelly’s Background Stars in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. To color it I used Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron Distress Ink squished onto an acrylic block, watered down and applied to the background with a brush. To speed up the drying time I used my Heat Tool and then trimmed a little of of each side before adhering it to the card. Some Gold Mirror Card is cut out with the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Dies and that’s adhered with E-Z Runner. Under that is another strip of Black 110lb with a piece of Washi Tape over it. The fun buildings are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s It’s Christmastime Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the image in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic and then used my Scissors to cut it out. I adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. For the greeting I die cut two piece of Black 110lb with the congrats die from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set. One of them is then heat embossed with more Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered to the other die cut, slightly offset, with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhered it to the card. Yes, here come the sequins! LOL! A nice scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold, Gold and Onyx Sequins complete the card. I love that fun bold background stamp and the cool little images in that mini set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 253

I had such a nice day in Manhattan yesterday! I took the 10:14AM train in and headed straight to The Ink Pad to see Anna and Jane! Oh how I have missed them! We got all caught up over lunch, we had Dirty Bird! Superdelicious! Around 2:30 I headed up to 77th Street to meet my friend Ella. She was running late so we only had a short time before she had to leave again so I’m going to go back in next Saturday and see her. After that I went to a coffee shop on 66th between 1st and 2nd called Java Girl. They had no Wi-Fi and no plugs! Talk about throwback! The coffee was really good and there were teenagers playing cards! It was really like a trip back in time! LOL! Kim and I had coffee and then headed back to her apartment to let out her neighbors dog that she is watching. From there we went to a local pizza place and had dinner. I headed back to Penn Station around 9:30 and got the 10:11 home. They have an App now where you can buy your ticket and show it on your phone! YAY! No more rushing to get to the ticket machine! When I got home I sat down and made my card for today. Renee has a crop at the store today so I will get to see my ladies and after work I have a birthday party to go to! 😀

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 253

I wanted to play around with some of the new Hero Holiday Sets but I’m not quite ready for Christmas cards! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My square in the middle is a piece of the same and it’s adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. Across the lower part is a piece of Gold Mirror Card and I tapered the ends to match the sketch. My two labels are from the Hero Arts Holiday Messages and Frames Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the large label in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto Black 110lb and the smaller on onto Vellum with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. They are bothe cut out with the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Frame Cuts. My greeting is from the Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The large label is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and a little more Fun Foam and the small label with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. A health dose of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Rose Gold, Platinum and Sparkling Clear Sequins on the white panel really makes the card shine! I wanted to see how the mixed metallics looked together and I really like it! Also love when I can use a Holiday Set from something other than the Holidays! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today! I wish you all a very happy Saturday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Celebrations!

WCMC&9 Header

Yes, it’s me again! Back for my second post for today! It’s a little overcast here in NY this morning, I hope that it doesn’t rain, I’m off to Manhattan for the day! I really miss going into the city on a regular basis! I’ll have to make sure that I get my fill while I’m in today! The reason that I have two posts today is because I’m on an super new Design Team over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! It has been created to celebrate the awesomeness that is Concord & 9th! Over the past year they have become one of my favorite companies, making some really cool and different stamps and dies! So I’m honored to be with such a talented group of artists using awesome products!

For our first challenge we are having a Celebration

Challenge 1 - Celebrations

Who doesn’t like to celebrate?! I used one of my favorite sets, the Happy Day Stamps and Coordinating Dies! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Ice Gold Curious Metallic. To create my cake I heat embossed the image from the Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Champagne Curious Metallic and colored in some of the flowers, icing and cake plate with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils. It is then die cut with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using another die from the set and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. For a little extra sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Lime Sorbet, Pansy Purple and Lavender Moon Sequins! I have created some other cards with that cake but I really love the gold embossing and colored pencils on that metallic card stock! I hope that you enjoyed my first Design Team card for the Where Creativity Meets Concord and 9th Celebration Challenge! Make sure that you go over to the BLOG and see what my incredibly talented teammates have come up with to inspire you! We hope that you share your card in the gallery with us, we can’t wait to see what you create! Thank you so much for coming by again today! Enjoy the rest of your Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 311

I’m almost all caught up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My Hero Arts order is all entered! Finally! LOL! The Magic of Vellum Class was great! Everyone was very impressed with the technique that they learned and I got some feedback for future classes from my talented students! My Parent’s stopped by the store and we got to FaceTime with Aunt Shirley in London. After work it was time for this week’s Thirsty Thursday! Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside and enjoyed the perfect evening! Today I’m off to Manhattan for much needed visit! I’ll stop by The Ink Pad and then go uptown to see my friend Ella. From there I’m going to meet Kim and maybe have some dinner! I’m looking forward to it! As I had mentioned earlier in the week this is my first post for today! There will be another one around 12:00 for the new Design Team that I’m on over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! Be sure to come back for that!

This morning I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #311

Circles… I haven’t made a round card in a very long time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out the folded card base except for about 1/8″ at the top. I then trimmed off about an 1/8″ from the bottom of the back panel and put it aside. My front panel on my card is stamped with the Concord & 9th Flourish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Altenew Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. I used the same Stitched Circle Die to trim it out and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. To frame the card I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is another piece of Gold Mirror Card cut out with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Pansy Purple Sequins finish the card! I love that Flourish Set and can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by this morning, don’t forget to stop back this afternoon to see the second post! Have an easy Friday morning! 🙂
