    Dapper Father’s Day

I know, you are probably sick of hearing of the nice weather we have been having is but it was another gorgeous day again! I went over to the store in the morning and hung out with Renee and Angie. I also got a card made that I gave to Sharon, Sue’s daughter for her Graduation party, I’ll share that with you later in the week. From the store I headed over to the party in Rockville Center. It was at Kasey’s Kitchen on the roof! A very nice venue with good food. I got to meet a lot of Sue’s family and spent some time chatting with her husband Joe and her sister. After the party I headed back to the house for a bit and then went over to Neal and Stephanie’s for a little impromptu BBQ. Brian, Kim and the kiddies were there along with Adam and Erin and their daughter. It was a fun time and I was home by 8:30. I watched some YouTube and then made my card before calling it a night. Today the store is closed so I’m going to make a valiant effort to make cards and get ahead for the week!

Speaking of getting ahead the card that I made last night is a Father’s Day card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. All of the images and greetings are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I drew some pencil lines across a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the Happy Father’s Day in Hero Arts Wet Cement. Next up I cut out another piece of Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cuts and heat embossed the Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Then I adhered a piece of Vellum to the back. Some Foam Tape is adhered around the edges and then it’s adhered to the card. The images are all stamped in Onyx Black and cut out with my Scissors. A little more Foam tape adheres them to the Vellum and the card is done! I love the retro feel of the stamp set and fun images! I’m also impressed that I got a Father’s Day card made this early! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Yes, yet another nice day! That’s three in a row! Woo hoo! My ride to the store in the convertible was lovely as always. The Hero Arts order arrived and I got it all entered, priced and put out! We had a nice busy day in the store too! I think that Renee was a little exhausted at the end of the day! I hope every day is like that! Taylor stopped by and her and I had Blaze pizza for lunch. I also got to speak to Michael and filled him in on the goings on at the store. After work I stopped by my Parent’s and saw Daniel, Jason and Erika. I wear a baseball cap in the car now, my hair is long and gets knotted! When I came in Daniel looked at me and said “look Nanny, Uncle has a hat on!”. I said that I was wearing it because I wanted to be like him and he went and got his hat and put it on gave me a high five! He is just way too cute! Around 7:45 Anthony and Bill came by and we went to Friday’s for dinner and then stopped at Target. They dropped me off and I came in and made my card for today. This morning I’m going to the store for a little while and then I’ll be heading over to celebrate Sue’s daughter’s graduation! She got her Doctorate! That’s impressive!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 238

I used some of the new Hero Arts goodies that arrived! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card. The bike, camera and greeting are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the bicycle in Wet Cement and the camera in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb. I adhered the greeting, camera and bicycle to the card with E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Espresso and Charcoal Sequins are added around the bridge and the card is finished. I love the images in both of the sets but the stellar greeting is definitely going to be a favorite! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you fro coming by today to see me! I wish you all a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

    Paper Players 296

Yesterday may have been the perfect day weather wise! It was in the 80’s with bright sun!! I drove over to the store with top down in the car and no jacket! Renee had a class and it was fun to chat with the ladies that came in. My friend Maggie had seen that I put up on Instagram that I had the We R Memory Keepers 3D Embossing Folders and asked me to mail that to her so I got that all packaged up and sent that out. We had Subway for lunch and I stopped at Aldi to get more Sweet Cream coffee creamer. I spoke to Michael for a bit and Sue too! Angie stopped by towards the end of the day and we laughed taking about kids! I also got to drive back home with the top down! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was extra sweet and cute! We sat on the front porch and looked at the planes and played catch for a while. Boy do I love that little guy! After dinner I came home and sat down to make my card. I finally got to play with some of the new Lawn Fawn! LOVE all of it!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Laurie…

    Paper Players #296

To start my card I cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the main panel for my card. I spritzed a little water on it and blotted it off with a paper towel and then hit it quickly with my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was set. I stamped some of the bubbles in Versa-Mark and covered them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set them. Next I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts to cut out the part where the window would go. I put the panel on the base of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered the middle circle to it. On the back of the main panel I used Scor-Tape to adhere a piece of Acetate and then cut out a piece of Fun Foam with the Stitched Circles and adhered that to back with E-Z Runner. My images are from the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the tail of the Merman, his crown and the school of fish. All of the images are then die cut using the Lawn Fawn Mermaid for You Lawn Cuts and adhered to the circle with Multi-Matte Medium. A little sprinkling of Chunky Gold Glitter and some Iridescent Flat Sequins is added and the the main panel and that is adhered the card base. My greeting is from the Big Scripty Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the hello and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally the school of fish is adhered with Foam Tape and the card is finished! I really love that ink-blended background and the super cute stamp set is great! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Your visits are always appreciated and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

    Paper Craft Crew 196

Another fun day at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Renee got a new line of paper in that moved like hotcakes! My second half of my Lawn Fawn order arrived, I entered it in the system, priced it and put it out. I got in touch with the customers that wanted it and they came in throughout the day to pick it up. Renee and I bounce ideas off of each other all day and she called me after she left with a really good one!! Can’t wait to share it with you! When I got home I had dinner, mum made chili! One of my favorites! My friend Sue stopped by and we chatted for a while and I subjected her to my latest YouTube obsessions! After she left I sat down and made my card, it was going to be a quick card… ummm… not really! Does that happen to you? You set out to make a simple card and end up using half of the supplies that you have?! LOL!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    PCCCS196 DT Sketch 5-25-2016

When I saw the sketch I remembered that I had a butterfly die that I had picked up a while ago on one of my trips with Sue and Michael to a craft show. About time I used it! The card base today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I splattered some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on the front and worked on the rest of the card while that dried. A piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, again! LOL!) is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is a two piece die from Paper Artist. I cut the back out from a piece of 36lb Vellum and the top from a piece of Basic Gray. A tiny piece of Scor-Tape holds the two together and also adhered it to the Mirror Card. Another piece of Mirror Card is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Loopy Circles Craft Die and adhered to the butterfly with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut it out and used a piece of Kool-Tac Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Yes, I’m obsessed with that Mirror Card, but you have to admit it does look pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and tale a peek at the rest of the Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to visit with me! Have a happy Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 49 – Flowers!

    SIP Challenge 49 – Flowers!

Now that I get to spend everyday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store inside Scrap-A-Latte I can’t even say anything bad about Monday! What could make the day better? Why getting to drive there and back with the top down in the car listening to some unnecessarily loud music! Have you heard the new Justin Timberlake song Can’t Stop the Feeling? It’s the perfect happy upbeat song for nice rides in the car! Who doesn’t like a pocket full of sunshine?! I got lots accomplished at work but was bummed when I found that the second half of my Lawn Fawn order didn’t come. I discovered that it was too big to ship through the Post Office so it went UPS and that added an extra day. Guess there is a lot in that box! We had some new customers come by the store and I even got to talk tech with one of the husbands! 😀 I had a little dinner when I got home and talked with my parents and neighbor for a while before coming inside and making my card for today. This morning I’ll get the Lawn Fawn order all sorted out and make some samples! Yay!!

That card that I made last night… it’s for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Challenge 49 Flowers 800

Ahh… flowers… who doesn’t like flowers?! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. That fun gold frame is cut out from a piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, I use a lot of it!) using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Those pretty flowers in the center are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Inks and the leaves in Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Moon Rock Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and arranged on the card. Some Press ‘n Seal picked them up, keeping them exactly where I placed them, while I added Tombo Dot Runner and Foam Tape to the back. They are then placed back on the card, pressed in place and the Press ‘n Seal removed. For the greeting I stamped one of the sentiments from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set in Moon Rock and cut it out with my Scissors. A little Foam Tape adhered that to the top of the card. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I LOVE that Altenew Ink, such good coverage and really easy to clean off your stamps too! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Don’t forget to pay a visit to the BLOG and see what my talented Team has come up with to inspire you! Add your card to gallery so that you can share with us! Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge

    Mojo449

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here with me! Heart & Feathers Be Happy

I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! I guess not working full time for 6 months and then going back full time plus will do that to you! LOL! It’s all good though, I’m loving being at the store and keeping everything organized! Yesterday there was a crop so the store was full! I love getting to sit there and chat with everyone! Angie and I ran an errand to the Dollar Store and then I went out and got us Wendy’s for lunch. It was a busy day and I really did have a good time! I spoke to Michael on my way home and then had Chinese for dinner with my parent’s. Taylor stopped by with Kiera and the had the cutest baby kitten with them. She is a stray and Taylor wanted me to keep her at my house but she wasn’t very fond of Winston! If they can’t find a good home I guess I’ll have to give in! Heather called around 9:45 so I ran over to her house for a glass of wine an some catch up! I’ll be back over at the store for a little while today and then I must do some laundry, almost completely out of clothes! How is your weekend?

When I did finally get home and settled I made my card for today. The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops Craft Die to cut out two pieces of Gold Mirror Card. My feathers are cut from more Ivory 110lb with some cool postage themed Washi Tape adhered to it. I used the Simon Says Stamp Pointed Feathers Dies to cut them out. For the Heart I used Red Felt and the Simon Says Stamp Combined Hearts Dies. My greeting consists of a Black 110lb Be cut from the Simon Says Stamp Be Craft Die and the happy heat embossed onto more Black 110lb with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. All of the pieces are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive except the happy which is adhered with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Cobalt and Raspberry Sequins to compete the card! Oh how I have missed feathers and I do love them cut from the Washi Tape! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for coming by! I wish you all a very happy Sunday! 🙂

    Earthy Beautiful Day

Another long day at the store but I’m loving every minute of it! I did get my haircut in the morning before heading over and I got to drive with the top down! That kind of happiness just sets the tone for the rest of the day doesn’t it?! I got a lot accomplished, mostly organizing and planning, two of my favorite things to do! Angie was there and was working on all kinds of things with Renee. It’s so nice to be surrounded with all of that creativity all day! Sandy stopped by to make a purchase and Danielle came by to make the class cards which I will post tomorrow. I’ll be back there today, it’s supposed to be a rainy day here, what better way to spend a rainy day than in a craft store?!

The card that I made for today was started at the store and I finished it when I got home. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the stamped images and greeting are from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the gorgeous flower in Altenew Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Moon Rock and Lava Rock Crisp Ink using my MISTI. The leaves are stamped in Evening Gray and Moon Rock. I heat embossed two more of the images in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on Sahara Sand. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I arranged them on my card and the used Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some Tombo Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are turned over and adhered to the card. The greeting is stamped in Lava Rock and the card is done! I love that amazing flower and I think that it looks so cool in the grays with the little hints of gold! Happy Friday! I had a very busy day yesterday at Stamp, Ink, Paper inside Scrap-A-Latte! The Lawn Fawn flew out the door, thankfully I have a little replenishment order coming on Monday! Concord & 9th and Altenew was also popular! Thanks to everyone that came out and supported the stores! A special thank you to Dianne for being the first customer!! My parent’s came by with Daniel and he posed with some stamp sets for me! Note the chocolate around his mouth, I used M&M’s to bribe him! LOL!

Class was fun last night too! We discussed other classes that they might be interested in along with other brands that they would like to see in the store. Brian also finally got his new truck and boy is it nice!! I got to be the first one to see it too! We stopped by Heather’s on the way home for a little Thirsty Thursday fun and it was a full house last night! When I got home I made my card and went to type my post but GoDaddy was having issues hence the reason I’m late today. I’ll be back at the store with Renee so come on by and say hello!

My card for today is for this this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 237

I used a new Concord & 9th Set that I just love! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Black 110lb and adhered some Gold and White Stripe Washi Tape down the right side and then adhered it to the card base. The main panel is Solar White 80lb and that beautiful flower and greeting are from the Concord & 9th You Are Enough Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black using my MISTI and then the two layers are stamped in Altenew Coral Berry and Grapevine Crisp Ink. Some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner adheres the panel to the card and just a little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I do love that flower and simple greeting, so fun! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for visiting today! Have a freakin’ amazing Friday! 🙂

Not a bad day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then gathered my stuff up that I needed to take over to Scrap-A-Latte and headed out. When I did finally settle down last night I made my card for this this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #295

At first I thought… I don’t think that I have any wild animals! Then I remembered that I actually have lots of them in my Lawn Fawn Sets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper. For the piece that I used for my background I inked it with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The second piece is cut with the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders for the earth and the Meadow Borders for the grass. Next I did some more ink blending with the grass using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn, for the earth I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy and spritzed it with a little water and blotted it dry. They are all adhered together and to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Down Under Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black and then adhered the trees with Foam Tape on the tops, the bird and extra leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I really love that background and all of the bright happy colors! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for your continued visits! Have an absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂
