Butterfly Postage Wishes & BA

Good day everyone! I’m back in NY, missing my cousins already. We went our for a breakfast yesterday before heading to Heathrow. It started to pour once we got to the airport. Tracey and Jules waited with us for  a long while, we even sat and had a Costa Coffee before we said our goodbyes. The flight home on British Airways was really nice! We sat in Club World with the nice big seats that turn into a flat bed! Lunch was delicious and so was the snack before landing. My friend Betty met us at the plane and walked with us through to baggage claim and we were out in 15 minutes! Heather and Stephanie picked us up and Heather and I had our movie moment! LOL! I unpacked last night and went to be early so that I can try and reset my clock. Today I have some cleaning to do and then finally sit down and make a card, the first time in over two weeks! That has been the longest for me in over 4 years! Wish me luck! Here are some pictures from the plane yesterday…

BA Club World Seats

Our nice big comfy seats, and yes, you sit facing the back of the plane!

A view from the seat just as we were flying out into the Atlantic.

Now on to today’s card which I actually made before I left. The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the “Vintage” Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate on a piece of Solar White 80lb. Down the left side is one of the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Real Red and up in the right corner is a stamp from the “Vintage” Office Ephemera Stamp Set stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Two of the stamps from the same set are stamped in Pacific Point and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is also from the Butterfly Basics Set and is stamped in Pacific Point, Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I adhered the background to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, the stamps are adhered with SNAIL and the butterfly and greeting are adhered with Foam Tape. For the greeting I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Papertrey Ink Just the Ticket Border Die and stamped it from the Butterfly Basics Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. I resisted the urge to add some sequins, LOL! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks for sticking with me through these last two weeks and I wish you all a terrific Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 14 – A Sketch

A very good Tuesday to you! It’s my last day in England and it’s a little rainy today. I have a few last minute bits and pieces to pick up but I think that I can do that locally. Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting my FaceBook friend Lesley! We went to the Crypt for a Latte and some cake and had a lovely time chatting. So much so we got a pot of tea and finished that too! I love when I get to meet people in person and Lesley is just lovely! After that Brian and I went to Leister Square and picked up some souvenirs and then stopped by my Uncle’s before having some wood fire pizza for dinner. On to the station after that to make our way back home. A very nice day indeed! Here are some photos from yesterday!

If it’s Tuesday then it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and this time it’s a sketch from me…

SIP Sketch Challenge 14

I had fun playing with a new stamp set and did some watercoloring too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered with a piece of paper from the My Minds Eye Necessities Wood Paper Pad. The panel on the left is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woven 3D Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main panel is a piece of Night of Navy backed with some Solar White 80lb. My greeting and flowers are from the Clearly Besotted Fairytale Ending Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I did the same with the flowers but on Canson Watercolor Paper and then cut them out with the matching dies. The flowers are colored in Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and a Water Brush. I adhered the flowers to the panel with some SNAIL and then the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love those flowers, especially watercolored. I hope that enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch challenge. Please take a minute to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Mojo Monday 415

Happy Monday! I can’t believe that we leave in two days to go home. It’ has been such a great vacation I don’t want it to end! Yesterday we went to my Uncle Steve’s in Harrow for a BBQ and that was really nice! After the BBQ Brian and I headed out to meet Tracey and Jules to go to another BBQ at Tracey’s friend Tracey’s house. That was a good time too! Tracey had to stay in London at her mum’s last night so we hung out with Jules and watched some TV before calling it a night. I’m going into London today to have coffee with my friend Leslie, can’t wait to meet her!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo415Sketch_zps8h1rr88q

I kept my card simple and right to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Island Indigo. Tucked behind it it is a piece of Blushing Bride with some American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine tied through the top. The greeting is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting complete the card! I like the mix of colors and sequins make everything a little better don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks for visiting with me today and have a happy Monday! 🙂

Just Happy Card & More Paris!

Back in London! The train ride back yesterday was just as nice as the one over there. We had some breakfast at a cafĂ© before heading to the station, Nutella Crepes and a delicious latte. Juliette picked us up from my uncle Bruce’s and we stopped at Watford Harlequin Shopping Center so Brian could pick up some things for the girls. There was a HobbyCraft there too so I had to stop in there. I was good, I didn’t get too much stuff, just things that I can’t get back at home! Today, Tracey and Jules have a little surprise for us so we are off to somewhere in a little bit! LOL!

Here are a few more pictures from Paris before we get to the card!

The glass floor on the second level at the Eiffel Tower, makes you feel a bit queasy!

Paris Dessert

Dessert from Wednesday night!

Now on to my card for today, just a simple card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and drew some diagonal lines across it with a pencil so that I would more easily be able to line up my stamping and die cutting. The stamps and die are from the Hero Arts Happy Stamp & Cut Set. First I die cut the negative happy from the panel. Some Hero Arts Pool and Wet Cement Ink is used to stamp the happy and the dots. So that color behind the negative happy would match I used a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Pool Ink to color a piece of Solar White and that is adhered to the base with SNAIL while the panel is adhered with 3M Foam Tape. Like I said, very simple card but also very mailable! I hope that you enjoyed the Paris pictures and my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your Friday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 13 – Theme!

Hi there! I hope that your week is off to a good start! We spent some more time wandering around London yesterday. Brian had the idea that we should go to the Science Museum and that was a lot of fun. I haven’t been to a museum in forever. We had a late lunch at a pizza shop that had wood fired sourdough crust pizza and it was delicious! More like Italian pizza than American. On the way home we stopped by my Uncle Bruce’s and I set up his new laptop for him. The other day we went to Hyde Park and Paddington Station. Here are a few pictures from that!

Hyde Park Serpentine

The entrance that I always use to get into Hyde Park is Lancaster Gate and when you walk in this is what you see.

Peter Pan HP

As you walk in a little further you get to the Peter Pan Statue.

Paddington Station Entrance

Paddington at the Station

There is a store inside the station when you can go and get Paddington Bear merchandise and this is the little guy that greets you!

So, it’s Tuesday, time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and since it’s my birthday this weekend we have a birthday theme for you…

SIP Birthday Theme 13

I used some of my favorite colors to make one of my favorite kinds of cards! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies to cut out the negative from a piece of Solar White 80lb Card Stock and also a piece of Fun Foam. To make sure that I got the stamped balloons inside the window I traced the balloon onto the card base. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the balloons in Simon Says Stamp Teal and Mint Ink, the stars are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back of the negative die cut and then the Fun Foam is adhered to the back of that. Before adhering the window to the card I cut out the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Craft Die from a piece of Black Card Stock with some Stick-It on the back. The Stick-It makes the intricate die cut much easier to adhere to the Window Sheet. A generous dose of Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter is added before adhering the window piece. A fun shaker birthday card if I do say so myself! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Birthday Theme Challenge! Head on over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by today, I hope that you are still enjoying the London pics and I wish you all a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. I love that Timeless Elegance DSP, so nice and subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Fab Friday 72 & the London Eye

Hello and a happy Friday to you! Brian and I did a lot of wandering around London yesterday. Our first stop was the London Eye, that huge ferris wheel that lets you see all of London on a nice day and it was a very nice day indeed! We actually got lucky and when we went to get on line the guy there moved us over to the quick one and we were on in five minutes. You really can see so much from up there and it takes about 30 minutes to go all the round. The first thing that you notice is Big Ben…

London Eye Big Ben

Next up is Charing Cross Station…

London Eye Kings Cross

When we left we walked across Westminster Bridge and got this nice photo of the Eye…

Thames London Eye

I’ll have some more pictures for you tomorrow!

Today is a Fab Friday and we have a sketch for you this time…

Fab Friday 72

I stayed very true to the sketch, I haven’t used a doily in really long time! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Blushing Bride. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is adhered to the card with SNAIL and across that is a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet and a strip of Adhesive Cork. I cut a piece of the Crate Paper Kiss Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered that to the doily with Foam Tape. For the heart I inked a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s cut out with the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Locking Hearts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Khaki Ink on the bottom right of the card and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really like the softness of the pink with the woodgrain, it makes for a nice contrast! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 12 – Colors!

Today’s the day, I’m off to the airport this afternoon to make my way to London! I still have to pack, I know, I should have done that already. Yesterday was kind of a relax and catch up day. I made a bunch of cards and watched some TV. Sandy stopped by for a little bit, we are going to have a dinner date when I get back. I’m going to try and have lunch with Heather today and then Andrew will be by around 3:00 to pick me up. Tomorrow’s post will be later in the day as I will be five hours ahead for the next two weeks. SIP Color Challenge 12

Yes! A black and white and then your choice of any other color! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp and Black Ink to create my background. My main panel is Solar White 110lb. The stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used some Simon Says Stamp Mint Ink to stamp the solid balloons with the outlines, strings, bows and greeting stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate Ink. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins with Ranger Multi-Medium Matte to the panel. Mojo Monday 413

Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. My flowers are cut from Solar White 80lb and Rose Red using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone and matching Dies. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel. Airmail Missing You

Hello there! I had a lovely day yesterday. Michael and I had lunch with his dad and step-mum at The Cheesecake Factory, we sat outside because it was such a beautiful day. I discovered that his step-mum has a little obsession with pens just like me! After lunch we stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond and then MJM so Michael could get a new pair of sneakers. We came back to my house and sat and chatted for a bit and then it was time to take him to the airport. We waited as long as he could before saying goodbye. His flight landed a little a late this morning, I hope that he got some sleep on the plane.

I have a quick card for you today that I made using some note cards that I picked up in Marshalls one day with Michael. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I disassembled said note cards and adhered one part to the card for the background and another piece is adhered to that with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next up I used the Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Jets Dies to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered that to the panel with Foam Tape. The you is cut out from a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, my greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with some more Foam Tape. I love when you can take something and change it around and make it your own! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and I thank you for stopping by! Have a great Sunday! 🙂
