Pals Paper Arts 265

A super happy Friday to you! Yes, I’m off from work until September 21st! Michael stopped by the office yesterday and said goodbye to everyone and then I did the same. I did manage to get out of work at 2:00 and I came home and made a few cards and then went to Smashburger for dinner with Michael and Taylor. We stopped off and got some dessert on the way home and then I helped Michael with some pictures on his computer. I still can’t believe that he is going home tomorrow. This afternoon I’m going to take a ride into Manhattan with Brian to pick up his passport, don’t ask, LOL! We are also going to stop by Kim’s and get a couch that she’s giving me and then take my couch over to Heather. Tonight Michael is going to stay by me and then tomorrow night I will take him to JFK. Bummer.

One of the cards that I made yesterday is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A super simple sketch and I got my Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit yesterday so I had to play with it! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with a piece of Basic Black covering the front. For the background I used a piece of paper from the PInkFresh Studios Happy Things 6×6 Paper Pad. The main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb backed with some more Basic Black. The images are from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Bits Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Teal, Teeny Bikini and Duckling Ink. The outlines are stamped in Smoke and the strings and bows in Memento Tuxedo Black. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed on a piece of Basic Gray in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL, tucking the greeting underneath. To balance the card I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix, Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Essentials by Ellen Iridescent Gray and Matte Black Sequins with some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium on the right side of the panel. I love all of the goodies that you get in this month’s kit especially the fun stamp set! I really hope that you enjoy today’s card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 200!

Hey all! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here lately but we are supposed to have some rain over the next few days. I guess that we are due. My off-site visit yesterday for work was actually not too bad and I have another one today. Let’s hope that one goes just as well! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael. He was doing another one of his baby book classes and the ladies just love them! After we closed we headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and then stopped at my house for a bit. Taylor was here when we got home, which is nice because I haven’t seen much of her lately. My brother, Erika and Daniel came home late last night and my mum text me to tell me that Daniel pointed to my house when they were leaving and he said “Uncle Justin’s house”! My little buddy is back and I can’t wait to see him!

Today’s card is for a very special challenge! Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th one! WOW! That’s a lot of sketches…

A super simple one too! I have been playing along since sketch #38! I decided that I would challenge myself to make my card while I was at Scrap-A-Latte, step a little outside of my comfort zone! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of PaperCuts Pink Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of PinkFresh Studios Happy Things 12×12 Paper. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Chevron Border Die to cut out a darker pink piece of card Stock to cover the top of the patterned paper. My love is cut from the same dark pink and some black with the Carta Bella Loves Dies, I adhered them to each other, a little offset, and then to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Three hearts are also cut out from the dark pink using the heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. I covered them with some Cotton Candy Stickles. When I got home I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins and some My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots on the top to give it a little more oomph! I love that PinkFresh Studios Paper, it’s so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Freshly Made Sketches 200th challenge! Thank you for paying me a visit today. Pals Paper Arts 263 & Card Class Cards!

Another beautiful day here on Long Island and a happy Saturday to you! Yesterday after work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of card class with Michael. We had some Red Robin burgers for dinner with Nicholas, yum! LOL! The class was lots of fun as always, the Friday night crowd is a little rowdier than Thursday. After class I came home and worked on my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael while he gives his baby book class and then we are off to Manhattan tonight to stay at Kim’s again. Tomorrow we will be working at The Ink Pad so come on by if you are in the area! Speaking of The Ink Pad, if you take a little detour and go over to see Jenny of at Craft Test Dummies she has a post and a video about her little visit to The Ink Pad and you can see what she picked up!

No on to my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I went with a nice simple card using one of my favorite sets from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set on a piece of Rich Razzleberry in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the strip across the lower half of the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzaz on Solar White 80lb. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a strip of Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card. I do love that butterfly and since it’s Photopolymer it’s nice and easy to stamp the three different colors. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge!
