Pals Paper Arts 149 & Sneak Peek

Good day peeps! Yesterday was a busy day in Manhattan. It snowed huge flakes for a little while, I looked like a snowman walking down the street at one point. It rained after that… not the best day weather wise in the city from recent memory! I still had a good day and got to spend some time with my friend Kim! We went to the diner for an early dinner and then just relaxed. I have come to the conclusion that I am unable to just sit and relax in my house, I always feel like I need to be doing something so apparently I need to go elsewhere to relax! 🙂

Enough babbling, now on to today’s post which is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a simple sketch from Margaret Moody…

PPA 149

A really nice simple sketch. I needed some bright colors after yesterday’s dreary wet weather and I think this card fits the bill. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. For the strips of paper I used two different patterns from the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper* and adhered them to the base with SNAIL. The circle is punched out from Pool Party with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I embossed it with the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The flowers are from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set*. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry and cut them out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. The centers are stamped in Summer Starfruit and are punched out with the Itty Bitty Bits Punch Pack. Both the flower and centers are mounted to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Bloomin’ Marvelous* Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the Large Oval Punch and also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors in the DSP, the brights and more subtles compliment each other nicely. I hope you enjoyed your Sale-A-Bration sneak peek today and thanks for checking in with me. Enjoy your day!

Pals Paper Arts 147

Ahh… the weekend, how I love thee! Happy Saturday! I’m off to Manhattan to see some peeps and have some diner breakfast! Hopefully traffic will light, I can dream can’t I?! What are you all up to this weekend? I will be in Holiday card mode tomorrow, I haven’t started my cards to send out yet, yikes!

Before we get to today’s post Stampin’ Up! had a bunch of announcements the other day. The first one and the one I found the coolest, they have an App! That’s right, go on over to the iTunes App store on your iPhone and download the new Simply Sent App for FREE. You can create cards and send them or post them to Facebook and Twitter. It’s a neat way to take Stampin’ Up! wherever you go! You can find it by clicking here:

The next big announcement is that for a limited time you can buy the Sizzix Texture Boutique directly from Stampin’ Up! This is a great tool for those of you not ready to commit to a Big Shot but still want to be able to emboss. See the flyer below to see the 2 great ways you can get it:

Finally, here is another really cool way to add something extra to your cards and other projects. It’s called Talking Tag. You purchase the Talking Tag Message Tags and adhere them to your project. To make it work you download the App from either the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store and use it to record your message. When the recipient gets the card there is a QR Code for them to scan that will take them to get the app and then it will play back your message or short video to them. What a neat way to marry traditional card making with a little technology! See below for more info.

That was a lot of news for one day! I hope that you will take a look at all of the offers and pick one or all up for yourself! You can order by clicking on one of the catalogs to the right!

Now for today’s post, it’s for Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a nice sketch with panels…

I decided that I wanted to use Pool Party and Primrose Petals, They are my favorite In-Colors. Something a little odd happened, but we’ll get to that at the end. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and sliced off a piece of the left side. I then adhered it to the card front leaving a little space between the two pieces. A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper goes down on the right side. The panel with the greeting on is stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Pool Party. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I backed it with a piece of Primrose Petals and used some Stampin’ DImensionals to adhere it to the card. Some more Silver Glimmer Paper is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The image is 2-Step Stamped in Pool Party and Primrose Petals, also from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to each other and the card. Now for the odd thing, if you look at the pinecone it kind of looks like its 3D, like old 3D on a TV. Kind of cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge card. Thank you for checking in with me today. I always appreciate your visits and love reading your comments. Oh, one last thing before I go, if you look in the Talking Tags flyer you will get a sneak peek at a new product from the upcoming Spring Catalog. Can you tell me what it is?!?! Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 146

Wee, it’s the weekend… boo, I still have no power. In all seriousness no power is a small problem compared to what so many other people are going through. My heart goes out to all those that have suffered a loss. We also have this great gas issue to deal with which is definitely not bringing out the best in people. I have none left so I’ll be in for the weekend. I stayed at my friend Louis’ last night so no cold nose this morning. He was nice enough to come and get me! Friends really are the best remedy for almost anything!

Today’s post is for Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a color challenge…

The color combination would be nice for so many things but I immediately thought holiday card. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Riding Hood Red with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background and I tried something a little different, when I ran it through the Big Shot I did it on no tabs to give it a little more subtle look. All of the stamped images are from the Open Sleigh Stamp Set. I stamped the sleigh on a piece of Very Vanilla in Crumb Cake and then again in Riding Hood Red. Using my trusty Paper Snips, I cut out the red sleigh. The Merry Christmas is stamped in Riding Hood Red. I flagged the one end and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the 3 sides. The greeting and the phrase are stamped in Riding Hood Red and I used the Postage Stamp Punch to edge them. I mounted all of the elements to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals including the sleigh. I love the vintage look of the card and the simplicity makes it a great card to duplicate. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts card. Hopefully you are all warm and will have a good day! Thank you for visiting!

Pals Paper Arts 145

Good morning! I hope that you are all having a great weekend! I had a wonderful time yesterday at Great Adventure with my friends! I have to say that El Toro is my favorite roller coaster I think of all time. We went on it three times and most of the other ones twice. I’m off to Manhattan today and then I have some serious crafting to do later! I also want to take a minute to wish my friend Sandy a very Happy Birthday!

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

I’ll say it again, I love any sketch with a flagged piece on it! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. The next layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I pierced each side using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The flagged piece on top of that is a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper. Both of those pieces are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main image consists of the window from the Cottage Window Stamp Set that I stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the tree from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set in Gumball Green and then stamped the snowflakes from the Cottage Window Stamp Set with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad. The background is Primrose Petals stamped in Primrose Petals with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. I mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede and then adhered it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler, punched out with the Word Window Punch and also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the snowy image through the window and the unexpected pop of Primrose Petals. I hope that you enjoyed my Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Good morning! How are we all doing on this lovely Saturday? I’m just great! I’m off to Manhattan to see a friend and maybe wander around for a bit. It’s supposed to rain here later on and today so I’m going to enjoy as much outside as I can. Tomorrow will be my crafty day even though today is World Card Making Day! I will definitely make at least one later on, will you be making any today?!

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge with some nice fall colors…

The base of my card starts with a piece of Early Espresso Card Stock and uses a background of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the leaves from the French Foliage Stamp Set in More Mustard and Cajun Craze and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I used some Multipurpose Adhesive to adhere them to the card. The greeting is from the retired Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out. Using the Window Frames Collection Framelits I cut out a piece of Early Espresso to mount behind the label. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce just the rounded edges and then adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do love the warm cozy feeling that the colors give you and the Hand Penned Holidays elegant script keeps it in my favorites. I hope that  you enjoyed this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thanks for popping by and have a crafty day!

Hey everyone how are you doing today? It’s Saturday so it must be better than yesterday! I have to get ready for my visitors from across the pond this weekend. I’m looking forward to Monday and seeing my cousin and card class too!

Today’s post is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts. This time we have a color challenge…

I wanted to use something I haven’t used before so I opted for the corn from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set. The base of my card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock. I used a piece of Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool to pierce around all four sides before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The FALL is stamped in Elegant Eggplant using the Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamps. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to “pink” the top and bottom before I adhered it to a piece of Elegant Eggplant. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The images are from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and are stamped once in Pumpkin Pie and a second time in Lucky Limeade. I used the Cannery Framelits Dies to cut them out and then used my Paper Snips on the Lucky Limeade ones to cut off the corn. The Lucky Limeade pieces are adhered to the Pumpkin Pie pieces with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The words are from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and are stamped in Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered to the corn with SNAIL. I love the little extra that some paper-piercing gives the background and hope that you enjoyed the card too. Thank you for swinging by today and I hope the rest of your Saturday is a good one!

Good morning peeps! Hopefully we can safely put Monday’s debacle behind us now for good! I hope that you are all having a good week, mine is going well. Busy as always but I like it like that. Today’s post is for the bi-weekly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. We have a nice simple sketch this week…

I decided to keep my card nice and simple too. The base of the card is Pink Pirouette Card Stock. I used two different patterns from the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper pack to go along with the sketch. The pocket is made from another piece of Pink Pirouette using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I was looking through the multipack of Starbuck’s Tazo tea and was happy to discover that the Chia Tea packaging matched the Stampin’ Up! color More Mustard! I stamped the image from the Tea Shoppe Stamp set in more Mustard and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I cut another piece out with a larger one and used the Festive Paper Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Both pieces a mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the Pink Pirouette and the More Mustard combo more that I thought I would and I love the little pocket on the front of the card to hold the two tea bags. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in with me today. Have a great day!

PPA 140 Affection Postage Window

Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday! What are you all up to this weekend? I actually started cleaning last night and surprisingly got more accomplished that I thought I would. I’m off to a good start now lets see if I can keep it going! Today’s post is for the bi-monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge…

A very interesting color combination that uses one of my favorite new In-Colors, Summer Starfruit. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The edging is made by punching a piece of Real Red with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cutting it in half lengthwise. I adhered the whole thing to the base with SNAIL. The middle image consist of a piece of Summer Starfruit that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. On top of that is a piece of Real Red and a piece of Whisper White that I stamped an image from the Affection Collection Stamp Set in Baja Breeze. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch out another piece of Summer Starfruit and Paper-Pierced the middle. To the top of that I stamped and image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Real Red and punched it out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card. The greeting is also from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and is Stamped in Real Red and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. A piece of Summer Starfruit punched out with the Decorative Label Punch is placed behind it and they are all adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I was surprised at how much I liked the card when I was finished. Most of the time I can picture exactly what I’m going to do before I start but this one took on a life of it’s own! I hope that you enjoyed this Pals Paper Arts Challenge card and thanks for visiting. Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

PPA 139 and Sneak Peek

Hello there peeps! Welcome to Saturday! What is everyone doing this weekend? I’m going to try to get some stuff done around the house and then tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see a few friends. Hopefully the weather will be nice, it’s not fun in the city when it rains.

Today’s post is for the twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch provided by Margaret Moody…

I decided that this layout would work great for a holiday card. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used two different strips of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The piece of ribbon across the middle is Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and is adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip. For the panel in the middle I used some Cherry Cobbler for the backing and the front is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsake Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* to cut them out. The smaller ornaments were stamped again in Gumball Green and I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the middle and mounted them to the ornaments with Stampin’ Dimensionals. All of the ornaments are also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. I used the 1/16″ Circle Punch for the hole that I threaded the Linen Thread through and tied in a knot at the end. I adhered it to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The best part about the stamps used in this card is that they come in a bundle with the Framelits, if you buy them together you save 15%! You know I like fussy cutting but if there is a Framelit it saves a lot of time. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed today’s twice monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Have a happy Saturday!

PPA 138 and Sneak Peek

A good Sunday morning to you all. How did everyone fare in yesterday’s heat? I went out for a little while and felt like my skin was melting but most of the day I spent inside crafting in the A/C. I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to but I had a few creative bursts. My post is a little late this morning because I went for an 11 mile bike ride with the wonderful Stamp with Sandy. It may have been a little ambitious for my first time out this year but I actually feel pretty good! Thanks Sandy!

Today’s post is for the bi monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge…

The nice fall colors did help make me feel a little cooler yesterday! I have another sneak peek for you today from the 2012 Holiday Catalog that you will be able to order from starting August 1st. The base of my card is Daffodil Delight Card Stock and I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler on top of the front. The Early Espresso is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I adhered a piece of Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to the bottom with some Sticky Strip on the back before I adhered it to the Cherry Cobbler piece with SNAIL. All of the stamped images including the greeting are from the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* in the Holiday Catalog. I stamped the jar in Early Espresso and the lid in Daffodil Delight. The apples are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves are stamped in Gumball Green. The flowers are also stamped in Daffodil Delight and all of the images are cut out with the Cannery Framelits Dies* also new in the Holiday Catalog. I love when stamps have matching Framelits, it makes cutting them out so easy and the stamp set and the Framelits are available as a bundle for a 10% savings! I tied a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine around the lid before I attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Everything else is also attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals except for the jar which is adhered with SNAIL. The greeting and the piece of Cherry Cobbler behind it are cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I added two Brights Collection 3/8″ Brads to the centers of the flowers for a little added detail. I love the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* and Cannery Framelits Dies*! I can’t wait to see what else I can put in a jar! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge and the sneak peek from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. Thank you very much for taking some time out of your day to visit and stay cool and enjoy!
