Pals Paper Arts 236

A late happy Saturday to you! I don’t know why but I just can’t seem to get up on the weekends anymore! I guess the bed was little too comfy with all of the blankets! So yesterday was a nice sunny but chilly day again. I got a lot done at work and then came home and Andrew stopped by for a bit. He’s out in the Hamptons this weekend for the Satellite Lane retreat. They rehearse and get ready for Harmony Sweeps all weekend. A little chilly for the Hamptons but maybe that help them concentrate! I went out to dinner to Friday’s with Anthony and Bill, that’s always a good time! Tonight I have a work Holiday party to go to so Danielle is going to come by here so we can go together. I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte in a bit to help Renee get ready for some classes, that will be fun! What are you up to this weekend?

My card for today is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts sketch…

I got my Paper Pumpkin Kit in the mail yesterday and love the stamps that came in it so I used one of them on today’s Valentine’s card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper stack that I adhered a piece of 1/4″ Whisper White Cotton Ribbon around the back before adhering it to the base. For my greeting I used the You Plus Me Stamp Set and heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Real Red. I used an element from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut it out. The heart on the top right is the one from the Paper Pumpkin Kit and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the banner and heart to the card. I drew a few lines down from the tag and used another one of the elements from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut out three hearts from Red Glimmer Paper, they are also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally I sprinkled some sequins in the upper right and adhered them with Crystal Effects. I love the way the heart looks “clipped” to the side of the banner! A fun simple Valentine for your love! Pals Paper Arts 235

Finally Friday! This week has been a long one! Lots of work to do including the move which wasn’t too bad. It was really cold again here today, I think the high was 15! It was my co-worker Cindy’s Birthday today so we all ate lunch together and that’s always nice. I went straight from work to Scrap-A-Latte to relieve Andrew who had been there since 10:00am. We are babysitting the store while Renee is enjoying the warmer weather at CHA in Anaheim, CA! Lucky!! I closed up at 7:00 and stopped by Brian and Kim’s on the way home to catch up with them. I got home around 9:00 and sat down to make my card for today. Happily finished that and then watched a little TV Before heading off to bed. Not a bad Thursday and it’s back to the scrapbook store tonight. Oh, I also edited the background picture on the homepage so you should actually be able to see the Brooklyn Bridge and the new Freedom Tower too! You’ll have to let me know if I was successful! 🙂

Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Today’s card is inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest and it begins with a base of Soft Sky Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack to go down the right side behind my background which is a piece of Soft Sky that I stamp in Soft Sky with the Dictionary Background Stamp. It’s mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Vintage Designer Series Paper, but I not going tell you what it is, lets see if you can guess and leave me a comment just for fun! On top of that is a piece of Pool Party with the left end angled. My greeting is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo. That and the stamp in the upper right are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Speaking of the stamp that’s from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo. I finished off the card with some Sparkling Clear Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects. A fun simple card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge and I hope that you enjoyed it! Pals Paper Arts 234

Well, that was a nice low key day to start off the New Year! I got up a little late but that’s because I didn’t go to bed until 2:00. I finished setting up the wall unit and then sat and enjoyed some TV. I looked over at the Christmas tree and thought, time for you to come down and that’s just what I did. It’s all packed away and ready for next Christmas. I puttered around the house until 1:30 when I decided it was time to get a move on. I took a ride to IKEA with Taylor to get 2 shelves and some different knobs for the wall unit. It was packed! I put the shelves up as soon as I got home and changed the knobs. Around 5:15 I went over and had dinner with the ‘rents and then came back home and made my card for today. Andrew stopped by a little later, he’s off to Florida early tomorrow morning to see a friend. He’ll be back on Tuesday night and I’ll be picking him up! I squeezed in a movie after he left, Live, Die, Repeat – Edge of Tomorrow. I have to say that I didn’t think that I was going to like it but it was quite good! Today I’m off to the scrapbook store for a bit and then who knows! It’s good to be off from work! LOL! 🙂

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I do love the purples and blues together the silver is the icing on the cake! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Wisteria Wonder to cover the front for the background. The piece of Watercolor Paper is inked with Wisteria Wonder and Night of Navy using the Tim Holts Mini Ink Blending Tool. At first I thought that I wanted to get rid of the line but the more I looked at it the more I liked it so it stayed. Before I adhered the Watercolor Paper to the background I adhered a piece of 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon with some Glue Dots around the back and then used a combination of SNAIL and Fast Fuse to make sure that it stayed in place. The butterfly is cut out from Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock with the Butterflies Thinlits*. I tied a piece of Silver Baker’s Twine around one of the Mini Metallic Clothespins and used it to hold the butterfly to the ribbon. The greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut it out and slid it under the clothespin. I love the inked background and the cool way that the butterfly is attached to the card! Pals Paper Arts 233

Apparent;ly I decided to sleep in really late today! I had a nice Christmas yesterday and hope that you all of you did too. Thank you for all of your Christmas wishes and kindness, who could ask for a better Christmas gift?! Daniel got a little Fisher Price music set that came with a drum, maracas, tamborine and flute. He played with it for a while but my brother really liked it! LOL! He played with it a lot much to dismay of everyone else especially Erika! Andrew stopped by later in the day and we just sat a talked for a while. After, Taylor came over and we watched Divergent again. Love that movie! This morning I have a bunch of Thank you cards to make and other projects to work on. I think I will escape the house for a bit too, it’s a nice day outside, not too cold so I can’t stay in all day. I took a really nice picture of the sky last night, a nice sky to complete a nice day!

I did make a card last night and it’s for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I used some new goodies from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog and that cool bird stamp! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack*. I stamped the greeting from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* in Soft Suede on the background and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral go down the left side and some Soft Suede across the bottom. The triangles are also Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral and are punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The bird is also from the A Happy Thing Stamp Set* and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I put a little dot of Crystal Effects on his eye and adhered him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the colors together and that DSP has some really great patterns in it. Pals Paper Arts 232

Well, yesterday just flew by! I puttered around in the morning for a bit and then went to BJ’s with Heather. We stopped at the Deli and got some bagels for breakfast and brought them back to my house to eat them. I finally found some more of my Christmas ornaments and put them on the tree. Around 2:00 I called my friend Sandy to see if she wanted to take a ride out to the Scrapbook store to visit Renee and she said yes so I headed over to her and picked her up and out we went. The store is very barren at the moment, I took some pictures of the one wall that is filled with paper and some stamps and dies.

We had a nice visit and some other people stopped by while we were there. I dropped Sandy off and came home with the intent of getting some Christmas cards made. I did manage to get the ones that my boss wanted for her niece and nephew made but not much else! I’m just going to go through my stash and send out some of those. I do have a bunch of cards made and they should go to good home and not sit in a box! That is one of my New Year’s resolutions. I’m going to send out or sell my cards that I make! That will help pay for some of my crafting addiction too! LOL!

On today’s post which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I decided that I should get a few more uses out of my Christmas stamps! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered a piece of All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper to the base and then used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out the frame from a piece of Cherry Cobbler. A strip of Soft Sky goes down the left side to keep with the sketch. Yes, that’s a shaker, shocker! LOL! The background of it is a piece of Lost Lagoon and I heat embossed the greeting from the Seasonally Scattered Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The frame is again cut out with the Stitched Rectangles from a piece of Pear Pizzaz along with the Window Sheet. Some of the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins are placed inside and Foam Tape adheres it to the background. I know, I make a lot of shaker cards but I really do love them! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. I’m off to the mall this morning with Heather and Stephanie, I need to do some Christmas shopping, it’s getting close! Pals Paper Arts 231

Yes, the bed got the best of me again this morning! I guess with cooler weather and the warm bed it’s just a little harder to get out of it these days! Yesterday was another crazy day at the office. After work I came home and had some dinner. Heather called and asked if I would like to go and see Patti with her so Taylor and I took a ride out to Bohemia with her. We had a nice time as always. I got home around 11:00 and decided that I would make my card for today. It’s a simple Saturday card! Today Andrew and I are going to deal with his hard drive and install a new one and come up with a better backup plan. I’m also going to take a ride out and see my friend Renee at her new scrapbook store! That will be fun! Michael has made a few Hanukkah cards and a really cool menorah so take a minute to go and see them HERE. I love the menorah, so different!

Like I said, today is a simple Saturday card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Some of my favorite colors! I thought about what I wanted to do on the way home last night and this is what I came up with. My card base is Soft Sky Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Bermuda Bay and stamped the Birthday from the Yee-Haw Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Ballon Framelits* are used to cut out the negative ballon from the background and the panel is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My other balloons are from the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set*. I heat embossed one in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and the other one with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Again, the Ballon Framelits* are used the cut them and the banner, also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, out. The gold ballon is adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue and the Pool Party one with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I was going to tie some White Baker’s Twine around the balloons but decided that I wanted to keep the card as simple as possible. I love the balloons heat embossed, they are nice and shiny just like real balloons! So there is my simple Saturday card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. Pals Paper Arts 230

Yesterday was a rainy day, and yes, I stayed in bed way too late! I did go over to Heather’s for a late breakfast that was quite yummy! Scrambled eggs, bacon and an english muffin. We ran to Target to pick up some necessities and I found two new props for my pictures! After I came home and hid in the Stampin’ Galley for most of the rest of the day. It was a good day to craft. I squeezed in some TV, I watched the Grammy Christmas special from the other day. Sam sang Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, you can buy the song on iTunes, I of course think it’s the best version of the song I have ever heard! LOL! I may be a bit partial though! Go and give a listen and let me know what you think! This morning another late morning, I guess that we do need them every once in a while, but I should be good now! 🙂

One of the cards that I made yesterday is for this week’ Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I wanted a simple Christmas card but not overly Christmas. The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. To create my tag I punched a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the Scallop Tag Topper punch and used the Project Life Corner Rounder on the bottom corners. My feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. I adhered them to the tag with SNAIL. The greeting is form the Endless Wished Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I threaded some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through a Gold Basic Metal Button and adhered it on top of the bottom of the feathers with Glue Dots. Some more baker’s twine is threaded through the top of the tag and the tag is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I used some Crystal Effects to adhere the baker’s twine to the background. It has the Christmas feel without any traditional elements. I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge. Happy Black Friday! Are you out and standing in a line somewhere to get a 70″ TV for $200?!?! LOL! I used to do Black Friday years ago but now with online shopping I see no reason to be cold for an extended period of time! I was looking at the LED TV’s and it’s crazy to see how cheap they are now! They are a lot of good deals out there but it’s way too early for me to start Christmas shopping, I prefer to wait until days before. Not always a good idea but I do it every year and there is no sense living in denial. My friend Kim finished her Christmas shopping in September! Now that to me is just crazy! LOL! I trust that you all had a nice Thanksgiving! Mine was quiet, just my parents and Taylor for dinner and that was at 1:00. I took my friend Chantal to the airport, which I have never seen so empty in all the times that I have been there! Traffic was a little heavy on the way back but not too bad. I stopped at Michaels to see Taylor, she told me not to go up there, she wants no customers so they will close next year! Of course I had to go! LOL! I came home and crafted for a while, watched some TV and then off to bed. A quiet low key Thanksgiving and I was quite happy with that!

Today I have my card for this week’s fun Pals Paper Arts sketch…

Lots of circles! This was one of those sketches that I knew exactly what I was going to do as soon as I saw it! My card starts off with a base of Pool Party Card Stock and the background is a piece of Soft Sky. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out some Silver Foil Sheet and “frames” for all of them. The frames are cut from Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Basic Gray and Smoky Slate. Some Multi-Purpose Glue holds to frames to the foil sheet and them to the card. My greeting is from the Christmas Bliss Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Lost Lagoon. The left side is flagged and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I scattered a few Frosted Sequins around and adhered them with Crystal Effects to add a little more sparkle to the card. I like using the Crystal Effects to adhere the sequins because it dries nice and clear and you can’t see it in the holes in the middle of the sequins. Pals Paper Arts 228

I had a semi-productive Saturday. I began organizing some of the stuff in the Stampin’ Galley and then went out and ran some errands with Heather. I realized around 4:30 that I hadn’t eaten when Andrew texted me to see if we were having dinner. He came over around 7 and we went to Five Guys for some burgers. After, we went to let his friend’s dog out and came back to the house and watched The Da Vinci Code. I am trying to expand Andrew’s horizons as far as movies go. LOL! Thankfully, he said he enjoyed it. I’m off to Manhattan now for a little while to see my friend Kim. What are you up to today?

The card I have for you today is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I started today’s card off with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the panel, I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Soft Sky. I stamped the tree in Garden Green and heat embossed the snowflakes with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The house is from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color in the door and roof. The lights are stamped in Garden Green and the house is cut out with the Homemade Holiday Framelits and adhered to the panel with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set, is stamped in Garden Green and cut out with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the panel and that finishes the card. Another simple holiday card, but again, I really love the stitching detail on those stitched rectangles. Pals Paper Arts 227

Since I had the day off today I decided to sleep in a little, something that I never do. Not much to report today, just glad to be off of work. I’m going to try and get some things done around the house and maybe see some peeps. Oh, and let’s wish Michael a safe flight home, and a speedy return back here real soon.

Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I did another watercolor card, I just can’t get enough of it lately! My card starts off with a base of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, on top of that is a piece of Crushed Curry to back the main panel. I stamped the flower from the Blooming with Kindness Stamp Set in Crushed Curry and then took my damp paint brush and pulled the color from the stamped image into the flower. We have some really great images for watercoloring with this technique and this is one of the best ones. Some Old Olive is brushed on to the stem and completes the flower. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Finally I stamped the butterfly from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set in Pumpkin Pie, watercolored it too and punched it out with the Elegant Butterfly punch and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A little fluff of the wings and the card is finished. A simple but pretty birthday card for someone special!
