Paper Craft Crew 137

Well, wouldn’t you know it… it’s Wednesday! There is one foolproof way that I always know that, it’s Paper Craft Crew day! But before we get to that I went to the movies last night to see Insurgent with Andrew! We had some Chipotle for dinner and ten headed over to the Broadway Mall to sit in those big comfy chairs! The movie was great! Lots of special effects and a really good plot line. Thankfully they don’t really leave you hanging, we know how much Andrew hates that! He was saying in the car that it’s another seven months before we get to see the final Hunger Games. He really doesn’t like a cliffhanger at all! LOL! Sometimes that’s just the way it happens! I do try to see movies with him that aren’t trilogies or if they are they are all available for download! So, not a bad Tuesday night at all!

Like I said I know that it’s Wednesday because it time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

This was one of those cards that I put to together in my head! The card base, as is usually the case lately, is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay. I used a piece of Whisper White to stamp the confetti from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set with Versa-Mark and some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then again in Calypso Coral. My middle panel is a piece of the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Calypso Coral and tucked under the bottom is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. Before I adhered the white to the card I wrapped some Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine around it and tied it in a bow. I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch and some Night of Navy to make my tag and heat embossed on it are the candles also from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set. The “light ’em up” is heat embossed separately on a piece of Bermuda Bay and the ends are flagged. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the tag and greeting to the card. Three Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins are adhered next to the tag with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I absolutely love that greeting, makes me sing the Fall Out Boy song every time I see it! LOL! So there is my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. SUO Challenges 119

Yesterday was pretty good for a Monday, a meeting and work and pizza with Robin for lunch! Last night was card class at Scrap-A-Latte and it was an excellent time as always! Love spending time with all of these awesome people! Her are a few pictures from the class…

That’s Sue and I, we are heading to Allentown, PA on Saturday for a stamp show!

And there I am with the best daughter in the whole world!! She is also a great helper!

Tonight I’m off to the movies with Andrew to see Insurgent! Really looking forward to that!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Fun Folds challenge. My card isn’t a traditional “fun fold” but it’s not your usual card either. I used a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and the Circle Card Thinlits to make my base. The flower is that amazing Lotus Blossom from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped in Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to a piece of Brushed Gold that is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and then adhered to the card. I made my belly band from a piece of Calypso Coral. The “thanks” is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I punched out another piece of Brushed Gold with the 3/4″ Circle Punch to back the butterfly that is from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut it out with the Butterfly Thinlits and adhered it to the circle and the band with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting on the inside is from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral. I used the 2″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A very simple but I think quite elegant card! I hope that you like my card for the SUO Challenges Fun Folds challenge. Pals Paper Arts 244

Well, I am feeling much better today! I actually took it easy yesterday and rested up. I think that I just needed a day to reset! It was a nice quiet day, I watched a little TV, napped, made my card for today. Brian stopped by and dropped off some lunch for me and dessert. The dessert was a Nutella crepe and it was delicious! It snowed here for most of the evening and we got about six inches. What a nice way to bring in the first day of Spring! I think that old man Winter has his days messed up! LOL! I have some more projects to work on this morning and then this evening I will be heading into Manhattan with Anthony and Bill to go and see Andrew and Satellite Lane perform at Harmony Sweeps! I’m looking forward to that! What are you all up to today?

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Nice and simple! My card base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire card front with a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. Down the center is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the sunburst from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set with Versa-Mark on a piece of Vellum and heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the Liquid Platinum on a piece of Basic Black and punched out with the Note Tag Punch. I punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch and threaded a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through. The tag is mounted to the sunburst with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The diamond is heat embossed on a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out with my Paper Snips. One more Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the tag. Yes, I resisted the sequins today! LOL! Fab Friday 60

Yes, this is the third post in two days! I had the Control Freaks Blog Tour which started last night and continues today, if you are looking for that click HERE. Today is Fab Friday and that’s what this post is for. I stayed home from work today, not really feeling great and I had a headache when I woke up this morning. We are also supposed to get up to six inches of snow today, just when you thought it was over! Because of the snow the card class at Scrap-A-Latte has been moved to Monday night. I still went there last night to prep for it though. I always love seeing Renee and the other peeps that are there! I also picked up some goodies! I hardly ever leave there without something! After the scrapbook store Heather called and I went and met her and her boyfriend George at On the Border for some Mexican food. It was quite good and it was nice to spend time with the both of them. Today I will be laying low and taking some naps to try and perk myself back up!

Like I said it’s Fab Friday and this week we have a simple sketch for you…

I had fun with the sketch and even used some of the new goodies that I got from the scrapbook store yesterday! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. On the left are two pieces of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. The frame is cut from a piece of Smoky Slate using the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts. I used a piece of vellum from the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack and colored the leaves in with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker. The flower is form the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder along with the butterfly. I colored the back of both with my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker and cut the flower out with my Paper Snips, the butterfly is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Kool Tack Clear Foam. The greeting is a piece of Blackberry Bliss cut out with the Mama Elephant Smile Creative Cuts. Yes, I used some Ultra Thick Clear Embossing Powder to give it that licorice look! I’m totally addicted to it! A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to one of the DSP panels with Crystal Effects. I adhered the greeting to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue and that completes the card! I love the Hazel & Ruby Sequins, they have a vintage silver look to them and well, the clear embossed die cut, we know how I feel about that! LOL! Freshly Made Sketches 178

Boy have I been tired lately! I’m not usually but ever since daylight savings I have been unusually tired. Don’t know what that’s about, hopefully it will pass soon! Work was nice today, for lunch Robin and I had Chinese. I had General Tso’s Chicken, quite tasty! Little Daniel was at my parent’s house, always a highlight to my week. We had to spend some time opening and closing the microwave door and then turning the hall light on and off. He is so easily amused! I came home and spent some time Skyping with Andrea and Eva while I worked on some projects. Tonight night is the Control Freaks Blog Tour, so be sure and come back for that!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her Prince in last week’s challenge. You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week’s sketch…

Believe it or not this card started out by me thinking that I wanted to use the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper! The card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Hello Honey that I embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the On Film Framelits to cut out a piece of Basic Black and adhered a piece of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper behind it. Some Tangelo Twist is cut out with two of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The banner is cut in half and adhered to the card and the slide is adhered on top of that with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The for you is also cut out from Tangelo Twist and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces to the slide. My butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers to color on the back and adhered it to the slide with another piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. A few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around and that’s finishes the card! I really do like that Adventure Bound DSP a lot, yes, I know, I have said that many times before so you know it’s true! LOL! Mojo 388

Well, it’s Friday! Woo hoo! It was a little chillier here yesterday, only in the 40’s and quite windy. I think it’s supposed to stay that way for the next couple of days. As long as there is no snow, I’m good! Yesterday wasn’t too bad at work and little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there. He has such little personality and when he isn’t happy with something he lets you know. After my quality time with the little man I came home and Heather called and asked if I would like to take a quick ride to the mall with her, I said sure. She came in for a bit when we got back to my house and then I finished up some projects and talked to Carolyn in Australia on Skype for a bit. It’s so funny because it was Friday there already, a little mind blowing! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill. On Sunday I’ll be heading into Manhattan to go with my friend Kim to take a look at her future apartment. That will be fun! I get to help decorate the place so I will take some before and after pictures! Something I forgot to do when I redecorated her current place. I have fun with anything that I get to be creative with!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

As I have been doing a lot lately my card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Coastal Cabana, the circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Gold Glimmer Paper goes across the lower part of the card. The star is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I punched out the middle with the star from the “Vintage” Merry Minis Punch Pack and then I used the Stars Framelits to make it just an outline. For the greeting I heat embossed one of the stamps from the Hi There Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The star is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting with a Glue Dot. Finally, two We Are Memory Keepers Adhesive Backed Sequins are adhered in the upper right. I really do love the gold with the blues, especially the Brushed Gold with the Glimmer Paper! So there you have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Pals Paper Arts 242

It was a slippery ride to work yesterday morning, they seem to have issues plowing the streets around here! But the sun did come out and started to melt some of the snow, the main roads were clear on my way home. For lunch today Robin and I went for Sushi. I sat and caught up with Danielle for a bit today at work, I miss seeing her all the time. After work I went and got my haircut and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and help pick out some paper and card stock for this month’s card class. I got back to my parent’s just in time to see little Daniel for a bit. He’s so funny, he yells a lot and Winston doesn’t like loud noises. When you say to Daniel be nice to Winston he leans over and puts his head on him, it’s so cute! I’ll have to try and get a picture the next time I see him. I have an extra card to share with you at the bottom of the post today, it’s the card that I made for my friend Robin for her birthday so be sure and scroll past the supplies list to see it!

I also had to share this video that I saw yesterday, wouldn’t it be nice if every just accepted people for who they are and didn’t concern themselves with anything else?! There is so much wrong in the world and it always has something to do with someone not liking what someone else is doing. Let’s just love each other, there are far more important things to concern ourselves with.

The main card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I immediately thought St. Patrick’s Day but decided to go in a completely different direction! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front of it is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. My background is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. Before I adhered that to the card I heat embossed the sentiment from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My tag is created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder from a piece of Basic Black. I threaded a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine thought the top. The leaves are cut out with the Flower Frenzy Bigz Die from a piece of Garden Green. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used the Flower Medallion Punch and the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out the pieces and then adhered them to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Not too complicated and I love the layout, I’ve used it a few times! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Fab Friday 59 & More Snow!

That was definitely a nice surprise day off yesterday! I did manage to clean up the Stampin’ Galley a bit and then spent the better part of the day crafting! I also got to FaceTime with Maggie and Skyped with Andrea and Eva! An excellent way to spend the day while it snowed… all day! We got 6 inches and it got really cold again last night. I had dinner with my parents and Taylor and then after Taylor and I cleaned off my car and went to Target. I needed to get Winston some food and I was almost out of 1/2 & 1/2. I really do hope that the weathermen are right and that it will start to warm up next week. We, along with most of the rest of the country, have had more than enough Winter! Please feel free to make way for spring! Here are some pictures from yesterday.

I can usually walk under the tree, it’s about 3 feet off the ground under the weight of all of the snow.

It’s Friday!! It seems such a waste to go back to work for one day! LOL! But I guess we must! It’s a Fab Friday this week and we have a color challenge for you…

I got so in to making the card that I forgot to include one of the colors, see if you can guess which one it was! The card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. Next up is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack. My main panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, I stamped the image from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To color it in I scribbled some Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers onto Clear-Mount Block and used a wet brush to watercolor the image. My greeting is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Blushing Bride panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and the DSP and Crumb Cake are adhered to each other and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins adhering them with Crystal Effects. Finally I stamped the butterfly from the same set in Hello Honey on Hello Honey and punched it out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I love all of the layers slightly askew and the White embossing with the watercoloring is fun! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Paper Craft Crew 134

Yesterday started out pleasant enough, it was nice and sunny on the way to work. It started to get a little overcast and then around 3:30 it stared snowing… again! We got about 2 inches before it turned to rain. A nice slushy mess! I did go over to Brian and Kim’s for taco night with Heather and Taylor came along too. Always a very good time! This morning’s ride to the office should be fun! It will be like driving in a giant slushy!

I have been on a bit of a yellow and gray kick lately and my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch is continues on with the trend! Here is the sketch for this week…

This card uses some of my favorites! The base is Whisper White Card Stock. The left side of my background is a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack and on the right is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. My greeting is from the Adventure Awaits Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on some Basic Gray. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Banner Punch to punch out another piece of the Moonlight Designer Series Paper and adhered that with another Stampin’ Dimensionals in the upper right of the greeting panel. Down in the lower left are three flowers from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set, they are stamped in Crushed Curry and punched out with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. A few of the Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Sequins on the flowers and by the greeting and the card is done! I really do love that Adventure Awaits Photopolymer Stamp Set, I have used it a lot more than I thought I would. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Mojo 387

There is really nothing better than having to clean 5 inches of snow off of your car first thing in the morning before heading off to work, would’t you agree?! LOL! It was a Monday! My day wasn’t bad at all, had lunch with my friend Robin. We went to a little neighborhood deli in Syosset called Dugan Sandwich Shop and I had an Italian hero that was quite tasty! After work I had dinner and then came home and unpacked my little Stampin’ Up! order. I also got my MISTI Stamp Tool. I can’t wait to play with that! Made my card for today and then ran to Target to pick up some things that I have been meaning to get for about a week! I need a few more hours in the day please so I can get it all done!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I really do always love the Mojo sketches! My card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the front of with a piece of Mossy Meadow. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of So Saffron. On the bottom of that is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I heat embossed the greeting from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I rounded the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and then adhered it to the bottom of the rectangle that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my circle I used a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack that was just added to Sale-A-Bration. I cut it and a piece of Mossy Meadow out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. They are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Glue and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower and butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set, also just added to Sale-A-Bration, and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the flower and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterfly. Some tiny pieces of Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the circle. A thin bead of Ranger Black Liquid Pearls makes the body for the butterfly and a few Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins finish off the card. I love the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum and the new stamp sets that were added to Sale-A-Bration!
