Mojo 296

Monday, Monday, back again. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good, I went into Manhattan yesterday and had brunch with my friend Kim at the great Mexican Restaurant called MolĂ©. We had breakfast sandwiches that were delicious and they came with fries, who doesn’t love fries, especially seasoned ones! It’s rainy here this morning and is supposed to be all day but it’s still supposed to be in 70’s so not too bad.

Today’s post – Mojo Monday 296, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo296

I got up a little early this morning and decided to see how early morning creativity worked! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background and the strip of paper across the lower half are from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack. A strip of Daffodil Delight and a strip of Island Indigo go down the left side. The stamped images are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Gray on Melon Mambo, and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. For the greeting I used the A Round Array Stamp Set and stamped it in Night of Navy. The 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch punches out the greeting and I backed it with a piece of Night of Navy punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Some Brights Designer Buttons (Vintage) Finish off the card on the left. I really like the colors in the Gingham Garden DSP, don’t you? Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card, I appreciate your visit and hope that you have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #148 :-)

So how was your Saturday? It was a very nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. I went to see Pitbull and Ke$ha last night at Jones Beach Theater. It is one of my favorite places to see a concert. It’s an outdoor amphitheater right on the water, in fact the stage is in the water! Pitbull was awesome, high energy and a great show. I was surprised that Ke$ha was pretty good too! They had a DJ in between and he was great too! All in all a very nice night!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time we have a theme challenge from the superb Jaydee…

Paper Players #148 Theme Summer 6-02-2013

Summer! I pondered about what stamps to use for a while and then I remembered a “Vintage” one that is the perfect image of summer. The base of my card is Pacific Point Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tangerine Tango and before I adhered it to the card I put a little piece of the Gingham Garden Washi Tape in the upper right. The image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp and I stamped it in Pacific Point and backed it with some Daffodil Delight. The greeting is from the Pursuit of Happiness Stamp Set that will be “Vintage” as of Monday. I used another soon to be “Vintage” product, a Brights Collection Designer Button with a piece of Tangerine Tango in the middle. It sort of reminded me of the sun so it went with the greeting. I think the sail away image with the sketched sail boat and seagulls is perfect for summer, don’t you? Thank you so very much for stopping by to see my Paper Players Guest Designer card for this week’s Summer Theme challenge from Jaydee. Head on over to the Paper Players blog and check out the other awesome designers cards and enter on of yours in the gallery. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Saturday, what a nice day indeed! How are you all faring after your short week? I’m doing well. it was hot and humid here yesterday and we are in for more of the same today. Not complaining, just sharing! Did you all get to place your new catalog orders yesterday?! I did and soon I will have some more fun goodies to feed my creative outlet. I’m off to Jones Beach Theater to see Pitbull & Ke$ha tonight with Heather. I’m a big fan of Pitbull but poor Ke$ha looks like she rolls right out of the dumpster onto the stage. It should be a good night! 🙂

Today’ post – Create with Connie and Mary Colors…

Ahh, Pool Party and Island Indigo, two of my faves! I wanted a nice clean card and I think that’s just what I got. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. A strip of “Vintage” Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and a piece of Pool Party that is embossed with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder are each flagged and on the right side. Next, a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Label Love Stamp Set and punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. The center greeting is from the A Round Array Stamp Set and is punched out with the 7/8′ Scallop Circle Punch. Both are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is a great quick card and would be good for so many different occasions. I love the layout and the simplicity! Thank you for visiting me today to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s Color Challenge. I hope that you have a great day and I’ll see you tomorrow for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. 🙂

Create with Connie and Mary 253 & Sneak Peek

It’s the weekend people, a three day weekend! It’s going to be rainy and dreary today so I will be crafting the day away. What are you all up to? Any BBQ’s and gatherings going on? It is supposed to be miserable until Sunday Evening but Monday is supposed to be nice so I’ll be sure and make plans to get out of the house on Monday.

Today’s post – Create with Connie and Mary, Sketch 253…

Now that is an awesome sketch! CAS and some flags! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I used the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Whisper White for the background. I stamped the greeting from the A Word for You Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush* before I embossed it. The piece of paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack* and a piece of Daffodil Delight is on top of that with some Whisper White 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. The circles are from the Circle Circus Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party and Strawberry Slush*. I love the all white background with the pop of colors. The embossed background gives it some interest while keeping it simple. Thank you, as always, for stopping by to see my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch. Mojo 292

Hey there and happy Monday?! Nah, Monday is rarely happy. How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good considering I worked on Saturday. I had a nice day yesterday, I got some crafting in, went to see some friends and spent some time outside in the beautiful weather. What were you all up to this weekend, hopefully some good fun happenings! I did get up a little early this morning so I decided to make my Mojo Monday card. If I made the card and wrote the blog post you know it was really early!

Today’s post – Mojo 292, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo292

As soon as I saw the sketch I though of the Epic Day This and That DSP! The base of my card is Pool Party and I used the soon to be retiring Color Spritzer Tool to spritz some Pool Party ink on it. The pieces of paper are from the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper and on the one I used the “Vintage” Spiral Notebook Border Punch. The flags and the scallop across the middle are all Basic Gray. For the greeting I used the Label Love Stamp Set*, stamped in Gumball Green, and the Artisan Label Punch* with some Stampin’ Dimensionals for some pop. I like the simplicity of the card even with all of the elements. Thank you for checking in with me today to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week. Have yourselves a good Monday! 🙂

Fab Friday 17

Happy Friday!! Woo hoo!! I loves me some Friday! I’m so glad that the week is over. I’m also super happy that I get my new catalog pre-order goodies later. It’s also my friend Anthony’s birthday tomorrow and we will be headed out to Ruby Tuesday’s for dinner later. I’m going to be mean and make them sing to him! LOL! Tomorrow morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my buddy Kim. It’s supposed to be nice so we are going to wander around and hopefully get some Mediterranean food for lunch. Yum!

Today’s post – Fab Friday 17 sketch…

Fab Fri 17 Sketch 4-25-2013

I do love a tag as we all know and the flagged piece is an added bonus! The base of my card is Island Indigo and the paper for the background and the panel is from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are all form the You’re Amazing Stamp Set except for Friend which is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set. The tag is created with my Simply Scored and I used a Sponge Dauber with Island Indigo to ink up the edges. Some tiny staples hold the little tickets to the panel and the brad is a “Vintage” Star Brad. I love the World Spectacular Product suite and am happy that the stamp set carried over. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have come up with and don’t forget create your own and upload it to the gallery. Paper Craft Crew #38

Ahh… Wednesday, halfway there! How is your week going so far? Mine is pretty good, no complaints. It was a pretty nice day here yesterday, not too cold, not too hot. It sprinkled for a few minutes and then it was done. It is raining this morning but I don’t think it’s supposed to do it all day. I have a workshop tomorrow night with my friend Melissa. It will be a good time, a small crafty gathering. I’ll post the cards sometime in the future so you can see what we made. 🙂

On a fun note, a fellow demonstrator was inspired by the card that I made last week for Fab Friday. Erica Cerwin did a beautiful job on her card and was kind enough to mention me on her blog. You can see her post here and the card that I made here.

Today’s card – Paper Craft Crew Sketch 38…

PCCCS038 Sketch 4-17-2013

I knew that when I saw it was going to keep the butterfly. The base of my card is Wisteria Wonder and the background is Daffodil Delight stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Daffodil Delight. The is a doily from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit and the rounded flag from the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The large flower is from the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and it’s embossed with the “Vintage” Vine Street Embossing Folder. A Beautiful Wings butterfly and a rolled paper rose give the card some dimension. The greeting is from the Wacky Wishes Host(ess) Stamp Set and some Itty Bitty Punch Pack flowers with Basic Jewels Pearls complete the card. I hope that you like my Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card for this week’s sketch challenge. Hop on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog to see what my clever team mates have for you and upload a card of your own. Thanks for stopping in and have yourselves a sunny day!

Create with Connie and Mary 247

Happy Saturday my peeps! It was a rainy windy day here yesterday all day. I did get to the Apple Store with my buddy Anthony and get his new iPad. We have some tweaking to do to make it perfect for him but we’ll get there. We went to this really great pizza place called Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza. They had these coal fire oven wings with onions and no buffalo sauce. They were crispy and delicious as was the pizza. What are all of you up to this weekend. I’m off to Manhattan this morning to see some friends and maybe wander a little. I do love the city, always something new to see or do!

Today’s card – Create with Connie and Mary Sketch 247

CCMC 247

I knew exactly what I was going to use for the right side of the panel as soon as I saw the sketch. The base of my card is Basic Gray and the background is some This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper. I used the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch for the right side of the panel. A Sticker from the the Epic Day This and That Designer Stickers Pack is on the panel with some Daffodil Delight Flowers on the top and some Epic Day This and That Washi Tape behind the greeting from the A Round Array Stamp Set. I hope that you enjoyed my Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card. Thanks for spending some creative time with me today. Have a great Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #81

Hello! It was a nice day yesterday for the most part, not as warm as Tuesday but nice. We had a short thunderstorm later and Winston doesn’t like that all all. He shook for about 15 minutes after it was over. Poor Winston. We are supposed to get some more rain today and a lot more tomorrow and it’s going back down to the 50’s. I did enjoy the taste of warm weather. I had to sit in a 3 hour class yesterday and it was pure torture! I sort of zoned out for most of it. So, Stampin’ Up! has lots going on at the moment and soon it will be time for the new catalog! Have you seen the new Wood Mount stamp cases? Check out the YouTube video here! Busy busy!!

Today’s card – Freshly Made Sketches #81 – By Cindy…

Freshly Made Sketches #81

My card starts off with a base of Soft Suede and the background is Fine Feathers at the top and Brushed Gold Card Stock with some “Vintage” Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon. The bird and cage are from the Nature Walk Stamp Set, the cage is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the bird is shaded with some eye shadow applicators! For the greeting, Teeny Tiny Wishes is punched out with the Word Window Punch and shortened. I also flipped the sketch upside down! I hope you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week’s challenge. Thanks for spending a little time with me today! Have a good one!

Paper Players #140 :-)

Wow! Sunday already, Saturday just flew by. I did have a very nice time at the auto show in Manhattan yesterday. The highlight was seeing the RollsRoyce Wraith, isn’t that a cool name for a car?! It was gorgeous! The traffic in the city yesterday was insane, but it was a Saturday and it was a pretty nice day. What were all of you up to yesterday?

Sunday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge! This week the fabulous Nance has a theme challenge for you…

Paper Players #140 Recycle It 4-7-2013

What a fun idea to go green with some recycling on a card! I thought about it for a while and I finally settled on some jeans. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I always use it no tabs when I emboss with the Woodgrain Folder so it doesn’t tear the card stock. The tag is made from a piece of Summer Starfruit, the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate supplies the corners for the tag and a standard hole punch makes the hole at the top. I used a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon to thread through the top of the tag. The greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp Set and is stamped in Midnight Muse. For the flower I used the Blossom Party Bigz Die and some old jeans from the Gap. I really like the way that the inside has the contrasting “crumb cake” look. A retired Brad from last year’s Sale-A-Bration holds it together and some Multipurpose Glue holds it to the tag. Some butterflies are stamped with the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set in Midnight Muse on Very Vanilla and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to hold them in place. I really like using natural materials on cards and the jeans are pretty neat for the flower! I hope that you enjoyed my Paper Players Guest Designer Card for this week’s challenge. Be sure to stop by the Paper Players blog to see what my fellow designers have in store for you and I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Thank you for checking in with me today, enjoy the rest of your weekend!
