Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! Pals Paper Arts 262

It’s another beautiful day in Manhattan! Nice and sunny and not too hot. Yesterday I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Michael and Barbara. Towards the end of the day Kathy from The Daily Marker stopped in. She has another coloring challenge coming up in October and I’m going to do my best to participate in it! You can check out her blog HERE! After work Michael and I walked over to Trader Joe’s to pick up some stuff so he could make dinner. We got back to the apartment and had spinach tortellini with pesto and garlic bread with melted mozzarella cheese. It was yummy! Today we are going to head downtown and do a little more wandering! Her are some more pictures from our adventure the other evening.

The new tower looks cool during the day but I think it’s even neater at night! Michael has a post up today with some more pictures so be sure and go over to his BLOG and check them out!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

This card started off with the need to use a bunch of die cuts! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Tip Top Taupe and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut two circles out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die from Pool Party. The larger one is stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Pool Party. I tucked the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Flourish Die cut from Gold Glimmer Paper behind the circle that is adhered with SNAIL to the card. My branch is cut from Silver Glimmer Paper using the Memory Box Branching Out Die and is adhered to the circle with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The butterfly is cut from Mint Macaroon and Vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire and Paulina Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I adhered the other circle to the card with SNAIL. The hello is cut from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I brushed some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over it for some added interest. Finally, some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle and Green with Envy Sequins complete the card. I love all of the die cuts and the colors are great together! Fab Friday 70

Oh… happy Friday peeps! The weather was nice but a bit cooler yesterday. Last night little Daniel was at my parents so I got to spend some time with him. I came home after and worked on a few projects and he came over with Taylor to visit. Later on I headed over to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday. It was nice to catch up with Heather and Stephanie and Michael stopped by too. I’m off to Manhattan this evening to spend the weekend at my friend Kim’s. She is going to CT for the weekend and Michael is working at The Ink Pad today and tomorrow so she was nice enough to offer us the apartment. Thanks Kim! Looking forward to it!

Every other Friday means that it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a sketch…

I was fixated on using a new embossing folder that I got so that’s where this card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Tip Top Taupe and covered the entire card front with it. Next up is a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and a piece of Delightful Dijon that are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Dijon piece is embossed with the Cricut Cuttlebug Old Paris Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Eiffel Tower is from the “Vintage” Artistic Etchings Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Delightful Dijon and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A piece of Washi Tape is adhered to some Solar White 80lb and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape, a thin strip of Real Red is adhered across the bottom. My hello is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Greetings Thinlits and adhered to the washi with Multi-Purpose Glue. I love that embossing folder and the Eiffel Tower image with the eclectic color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Paper Players 256

And Wednesday! Halfway there! Yesterday was another nice day here, lots of sun and really warm. I dropped Danielle off at her car across the street from the office after work, we had meetings so the parking lot was full. On my way home I ended up behind Michael who was on his way over to my house. He was out East with Renee visiting a store owner to pick up some things for Scrap-A-Latte and his store. He had all kinds of goodies and brought me some stuff too! We had some Chinese for dinner and watched some old music videos. We also discussed the cards for next week’s class. What a nice way to end the day!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

A nice easy one! I did end up making this card twice, I didn’t care for the original background that I had done and Michael agreed! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the images and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp One with Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set. The background is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink on Neenah Solar White 80lb and the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The trees are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin and Cloudy Sky also on Solar White 80lb and then again heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Nature Dies to cut them out. The vellum trees have some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and Ranger Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter sprinkled on them for some sparkle. The trees are then adhered to the stamped ones and then they are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I love the graphic look of the stamp set and the colors are nice and subtle too! Scrabble Travel Birthday

I can’t believe that it’s Saturday already! We had a fun day at the CKC Show yesterday! Loads of fun things to look at and I even got to meet my friend Ginger! She is pretty awesome! My sister-in-law Erika text me yesterday to say that her, Daniel and my brother were in the area so we went to the Iron Works Brewery and had dinner with them! That was a very nice and unexpected surprise! Daniel was adorable as always and everyone got big hugs from him! Here is a picture of Michael, Ginger and I standing in the Vendor Faire Area at the CKC Show…

My card that I have for today is a fun masculine birthday one! The base for today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Hello Honey and across the bottom is a piece of Washi Tape with a travel theme. A piece of Sahara Sand is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. I used the Simon Says Stamp Game Tiles Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Dies to spell out my Happy Birthday, stamped on the Woodgrain piece. The letters are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I think that card would work well for anyone but especially would be great for a Scrabble fan! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Misty Ocean Sand Dollar

Happy Friday peeps! We had a nice ride down to Lancaster yesterday for the CKC Show. We stopped at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, A.C. Moore and Joann’s! It was a crafty little journey and today will be lots more of the same at the show! I haven’t been to this show before so I’m looking forward to it! Michael, Sue and I have had breakfast in the hotel and are about to head out. I’ll have a full report for you tomorrow!

I wanted to share a simple card with you today using one of my favorite things… vellum! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the images from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink randomly on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. The greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. I folded the top and bottom over the stamped piece and the used Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the base. Like I said, nice and simple but I always love the look of the Vellum over a stamped background and I love that greeting! Paper Players 255

SORRY FOR THE LATE POST, GODADDY WAS HAVING ISSUES THIS MORNING!

Ahh yes, once again today is my Friday! It was a hot one here yesterday and is going to be even hotter today. I’m not complaining, I do love the summer and you know that if I never saw snow again I would be fine with that! My day was pretty standard. I came home after work and little Daniel was at my parent’s. He was a little cranky but managed to give me that sly little smile! When I got home I Skyped with Andrea and then made some cards. I’m off to the CKC Show in Lancaster with Michael and Sue tomorrow, that should be loads of fun! Sandy stopped by last night for a bit to pick up some things and chat, we are all going to her card class on Monday, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one of those, should be fun! Looking forward to some quality time with my peeps!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Sandy…

Ahh, is that a tag! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is an awesome piece of paper from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes 6×6 Pack. All of the stamps are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set. The hello is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the background. My tag is a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I stamped the flip flops from the set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics and the cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Foam Tape. The summer is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Words Dies from a piece of Tangelo Twist and Basic Black. I used some Ranger Multi-Medium to adhere them to each other, slightly offset, and then adhered them to the tag with some more Multi-Meduim. I applied a generous dose of Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to make it pop! A piece of American Crafts Primio Brights Hemp Twine is tied through the top of the tag and then it’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give the card some sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins along the rays on the background. I really love that background paper, it’s so cool! SIP Challenge 7 – Colors & Still More Manhattan!

Monday, why must you be so… Monday?! Yesterday was a little bit of a let down after the weekend that I had! LOL! Work was more irritating than usual, there are two new people moving into my office and I have seen a side of one them that I never knew existed and to be honest am sad that I have. After the torture I came home and had some dinner and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley playing with some new goodies that I got. I also Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and even snuck in some TV. And yes, I have still more pictures form Manhattan. These are from the walk that Michael and I took along the river. There were some amazing sunsets over the weekend!

I really did love my weekend! They should all be just like that, I would be the happiest person in the universe!

What better way to start off a Tuesday than with a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge?! This week we have a color challenge from Michael…

A nice summery palette, wouldn’t you agree?! I know that you will be surprised but I got another nautical set in the mail! LOL! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Soft Sky to serve as the background for my little scene. The waves are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies from Pacific Point. I flipped the negative of the cut out and adhered it on top of the other one with Foam Tape, I thought it looked neat! The extra large sun is cut out of Daffodil Delight with the Simon Says Stamp A2 Card Curved Edge Die and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. My sailboat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. The boat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, I brushed some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sails and the greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners Dies. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins give the card a little sparkle! I really am stuck on the nautical theme lately but I just love the sailboats and waves! Mojo Monday 408 and More Manhattan!

Well, I had THE best 4 days off! My weekend was fantastic! Yesterday morning Maggie said our goodbyes to Kim and Maggie and headed downtown to have breakfast with Michael. Around 12:30 I walked Maggie to the Subway so she could get to JFK for her flight back to Cali. It was so nice to have Maggie here with me, love her to pieces. She is so happy and funny and I’m glad that she got to meet Michael and Kim! I can’t wait for her to come back!! It was also a lot of fun working at The Ink Pad with Michael. So many people from different countries stop in. We met a sweet lady from France who gave us some really cool tags that she used as business cards! After we closed the store we took a nice long walk along the Hudson and watched all of the boats and people. So relaxing and it was a gorgeous evening. I dropped Michael off in Midtown and then headed home. I really didn’t want to weekend to end! As promised here are some pictures that I took from the High-Line yesterday. It was an amazing sunset!

One good thing about Monday’s, it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Oh how I love a tall & skinny! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Typeset Designer Series Paper Pack. Across the lower half is a piece of Pear Pizzaz that I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes dies along the top and bottom. My main panel is a piece of Basic Black that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies with another piece of Typeset DSP on top. I adhered a sliver of Basic Black along the bottom and then adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The neat cup is from this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and the succulent in Pear Pizzaz. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I say it all the time but I really do love the stamps in the Paper Pumpkin Kits! Hello everyone! It’s FRIDAY! Yesterday was another great day! Maggie took Michael’s Baby Book class at Scrap-A-Latte so we were there for most of the day. Everyone loved the class and the book is awesome! I helped out and worked on a few things for Renee. After everyone was done Maggie, Michael and I stopped by the house and Skyped with Andrea for little bit before heading to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to my house I worked on another card and then we watched some of the videos that I shot from the Sam Smith concert. This morning we are going to head out East for the day and maybe pay a visit to the wineries.

It’s also time for another Fab Friday and this time we have a color combos for you…

Today my card begins with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. I ran two strips of of Bohemian Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. The flowers are from the Mama Elephant Freestyle Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Versa-Mark on Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow, heat embossed with White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with the matching dies. The leaves are adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the flowers with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of May Arts Natural Twine through the top and then adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is the Mama Elephant Creative Cuts Thanks Script Die. I cut it out twice from Lost Lagoon and adhered them to each other and to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and complete the card. I really do love the look of white heat embossing for florals, especially on the dark card stock!
