Freshly Made Sketches 188 & Pals Paper Arts 253

Well, my trend of sleeping in on Saturdays continues! Not that 7:30 is late but it is for me! Yesterday was another nice day, warm, a little humid but the sun felt nice! My friend Danielle stopped by after work to pick up two birthday cards. I am being good and using ones that I already have in my stash! I Skyped with Andrea for a while and we crafted together. I made my two cards for today and she worked on some swaps. Taylor stopped by and watched some Netflix, she is a little addicted to it! I spent a little time watching TV and then called it a day. Today I’m not sure what I’m doing, which sometimes is nice!

So of the two cards that I have for you today my first one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Thanks to Jen B. for choosing my card for last week’s challenge! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Early Espresso for the frame and also a piece of Window Sheet. Thin strips of foam tape around the frame adheres it to the card. Some American Crafts Gold Glitter Paper is backed with some Stick-it and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and then adhered to the window. My flowers are created with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals Thinlits from Cherry Cobbler and the leaves from Old Olive. They are adhered to the window frame with Glue Dots. I was going to make it a shaker card but I really like the way the hello just seems to float above the card with nothing behind it!

The second card I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A neat sketch and I’m loving that funky edge! The card base on this one is also Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and I just used a ruler to draw the angled edge and cut it with my Paper Snips. My panel in the middle is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Flag Card Die. The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered the card to the base with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flag at the top is also cut out with the same die from a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. I doubled up the Fun Foam to adhere it and give it a little more dimension. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects gives the card some sparkle. I love the simplicity and that funky edge!

Fab Friday 65

Oh yes peeps it’s Friday! A nice short week, loved it! Yesterday it was rather humid here but sunny. We had a little patch of rain last night but only for a few minutes. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents! Love to see that little man. We went for a little walk and he shared some of my red velvet whoopie pie. He really liked it! He is like a little bird with his mouth open when he wants a taste of what you have! So cute. I come home after and Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then made a few cards. A nice quiet evening, so nice to have them once in a while!

This Friday it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a color one for you…

I just got my Simon Says Stamp Card kit in the mail yesterday and wanted to play with some of the stamps and die that is included! The card base for today is the usual and it’s covered in a piece of Marina Mist. My panel is a piece of Whisper White and across the middle is some Beach House Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The sun and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, the sun is stamped in Hello Honey and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it to the card with Ranger Matte Multi-Meduim. A strip of Night of Navy that I flagged the right of side goes across the middle and is adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen finishes the card. I love the simplicity and happy feel of the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Color challenge! Mojo 399

Another nice day here! They said that we might get some thunderstorms but they stayed to the north of us. When I got home from work I was Skyping with Andrea and she was showing me the storm clouds and a tornado to the north of her! There were some crazy things going in Colorado! I was part of a text conversation during the day that involved Brian getting his tongue pierced so I headed over to meet Heather at his house and we went to see my friend Mark at his Tattoo shop. I spoke with Mark about my next tattoo that I wanted to get while Brian got his tongue pierced. He didn’t even flinch, however my knees got a little weak at the sight of it! After we went to 7-Eleven to get him a Slurpee to help with the swelling. We got back to his house and I dropped him off and I headed over to Heather’s to meet up with Stephanie for some cocktails and conversation! I had my Whiskey Smash and all was right in the world again! I also got some fun news! Michael will be coming back to NY soon! I’ll keep you posted and let you know when he arrives! 🙂

Thankfully I made my card Tuesday night, 10:00pm is a little late to start making a card! That card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I decided that I wanted something fun and colorful so I pulled out some bright Designer Series Paper and a fun Stamp Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb and the front is covered in a piece of Pumpkin Pie. The background and strip across the middle are pieces of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. I cut a banner from a piece of Rich Razzleberry and adhered it to the card under the striped piece. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is flagged on both ends and adhered on too of that. My greeting and crayon are from the Lawn Fawn You Color My World Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre Ink and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Circles. The crayon is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Daffodil Delight and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back of the circle and then it’s adhered to the card. The crayon is adhered to the circle with SNAIL. A scattering of Doodlebug Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects for a little sparkle. I do love the bright colors and fun stamp set! Paper Craft Crew 146

Wednesday already! I like having Monday’s off! LOL! Today was another nice day, lots of sun and a little breeze. My day was pretty good, work wasn’t terrible, I got to drive home with the top down, my favorite way to end the work day! I came home and had some dinner and then retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make a card. I ran out to Target quick to get a few things, I love that it’s open until midnight! Not a bad day at all!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew big for this week’s sketch challenge…

I wanted to use some new goodies and do a little watercoloring, it’s been a while since I have done that! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp on a piece of Whisper White with Sahara Sand Ink. Some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine is spattered on the panel and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the flower from the NEW You’ve Got This Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder twice. The watercoloring is done with So Saffron and Old Olive Ink and a wet brush. I cut out one with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Dies and the flower with my Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape adheres the flower to the circle and more SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the circle to the card. A few butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches. I colored the back of the with a Copic Y35 Marker and the used Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere them to the circle. My greeting is a piece of So Saffron and Neenah Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I adhered the two die cuts together with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and then adhere it to the card with Foam Tape. I love the soft look of the watercolored flower and cool gold butterflies against the Hardwood Background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Paper Players 246

Oh what a happy Monday it is indeed! A great big thank you to all of the men and women that serve our country and make it great! And also for getting me the day off for work! LOL! I had a nice relaxing Sunday! Breakfast with the girls was fun! We had a nice chat and got all caught up! We are also not going to wait so long until the next time we do that! When I got home from breakfast I rearranged the room next to the kitchen in my apartment and it’s so much bigger now! I like playing Tetris with furniture! The rest of the day was spent crafting, doing laundry and some doing nothing too! When Taylor got home from work we ran to IKEA so I could get a rug for the new open area in the cleaned out space! Today I’m going to be crafty and get ahead for the week! 🙂

Today’s card is for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Anne Marie…

I stepped a little out of my color zone today! The inspiration is the Washi Tape and the colors in it. My card base is the usual and the entire card front is covered in a piece of Real Red. Another piece of Whisper White has some Washi Tape with a map on it that I got from Michaels. Guess what is on the map… London!! How weird is that?! Anyway, I adhered the strip of Washi to the panel and then on the top and bottom are pieces of Lost Lagoon. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some Fun Foam is adhered to the back and then the panel to the card. My tag is cut from Basic Black using the Tim Holtz Tags Collection Framelits. I adhered some more Washi to another piece of Whisper White and used the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies to cut three out. They are adhered to the tag and some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is wrapped around the bottom. Another piece of Fun Foam and adhesive holds it to the card. To finish it off I adhered three Recollections Enamel Dots to the Washi across the center. I’m really liking the colors that I pulled from the Washi, I think that they are different and pretty neat! Perfect Borrowed Birthday

And it’s the start of the three day weekend! I had a nice Friday, work was good, I snuck out at 2:00! I came home and worked on my card for today and Skyped with Andrea. Sandy stopped by to pick up something that she left at my house on Thursday night and she also brought over her goodies that she got in the mail and now I have a few more things that I want! We also ran to Michaels quickly! Anthony and Bill came to get me at 7:00 and we went to Smash Burger for dinner. I had sweet potato fries, onion straws and fried pickles along with my burger! I did share everything except the sweet potato fries, they are delicious because they are so nice and crispy! From there we stopped at Starbucks and I had a mini vanilla bean Frappucino. We met up with Marissa and her friend Gina at the bar and had a fun time. I came home and went straight to bed! LOL! Today I’m planning on stopping by Scrap-A-Latte for a bit and then crafting too! A nice relaxing start to the weekend!

I promised that I would get all caught up on my cards from the classes at Scrap-A-Latte so here are the ones from last month’s class. We featured Reverse Confetti and I had loads of fun making the cards!

Aren’t they fun?!?! I love the donuts and the cool fragmented background with the sequin paper too!

Today I have a birthday card for you! Have you ever gotten a little obsessed with a stamp set or a particular layout?! I am a little obsessed with a particular stamp set and layout lately and I love to see how many different ways that I can use both! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape. The panel is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack, it’s adhered to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive and cut out with another one of the fantastic dies from DiesByDave! How happy was I when I saw this one?! I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Blackberry Bliss and adhered them to the wreath with Bling Glue Dots. A few pearls are adhered to the centers with Crystal Effects. I cut out some Basic Black and Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die. They are adhered together and then to card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed it on Basic Black with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Three sequins adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects compete the card! I really am obsessed with the Your Perfect Day Set and the layout, but I have used it for quite a few different style cards! Pals Paper Arts 252

Ahh… the sweetness of Friday is upon us! This was a long week, lots going on and I am thinking the weekend will be a busy one too! I got a lot accomplished at work and the weather was cool and overcast again but they say that most of the weekend will be nice. I ran to Scrap-A-Latte straight from work to talk about next month’s stamp sets with Renee. We have narrowed it down to three companies! LOL! Not much progress! I came home and stopped my the Parent’s to have some dinner and then to my house to work on my card for today. I Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then my crafty friend Sandy stopped by! We talked about the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog and then did a show and tell of the other goodies that we have recently acquired. Always great to see Sandy! Tonight I’m out for some dinner with Anthony and Bill and then we are going to meet up with Marissa and one of her friends and go to the bar for al little while. Should be a very good way to start the weekend! What are your plans for the upcoming holiday?!

My craftiness last night yielded my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I wanted to keep the card simple and use some new goodies that I recently acquired! The base is Whisper White and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of the NEW Mint Macaroon Card Stock that I embossed with the “Vintage” Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, still one of my favorites! I recently got some new dies from DiesByDave on Etsy that coordinate with the By The Tide Stamp Set. His dies are great and if you haven’t been to his shop in a while you need to pay him a visit, he has added some new dies! I heat embossed the shells in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on the NEW Tip Top Taupe and then used the dies to perfectly cut them out. A little Foam Tape adheres them to the background. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I adhered it to the shells with a little Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Like I said a very simple but elegant card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 187

Another somewhat cool but sunny day here on Long Island. The workday wasn’t too bad yesterday, I managed to get a bunch of stuff done. When I got to my parent’s little Daniel was there in all of his smiling glory! We had dinner and then the two of us went outside and played ball on the front porch with Winston. He loves when Winnie tries to get the ball and just laughs and laughs! So cute! I came home for a bit and made my card for today while I was on Skype with Andrea. After I finished my card I headed over to Heather’s for a drink, she makes the best Whiskey Smash I have ever had and now it’s my drink of choice! I also got to play with the new kitten Pasha, she is just way too cute and lovey as you can see from the picture!

Just siting there on my knee. It was actually funny because she just sort of appeared there put of nowhere. We snuggled for a bit and then she bounded of my lap to go and play with her mouse! Just too cute!

My little card that I made for today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I stayed really true to the sketch, right down to the butterfly! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut some vellum with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die. They are tucked behind a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. My label is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies from a piece of the NEW Tip Top Taupe and Basic Black. The greeting is from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is cut from Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Die. A tiny piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered here and there finish the card. I love the look of the Tip Top Taupe with the Basic Black and Gold, nice and rich and elegant! Paper Players 245, Freshly Made Sketches 186 & Pals Paper Arts 251

Yes, you read correctly, you get three cards today! Not a bad way to start a Monday?! My day yesterday was just lovely! The weather was perfect, I got some projects finished, took ride in the convertible and ran some errands. A very nice Sunday indeed! I even got to relax a little and chat with the people upstairs. I finished the night off with some Chicken Tikka Masala and an Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! Everyday should be like yesterday! How was your Sunday? I hope that it was just as good as mine!

So back to the three posts, I honestly don’t know how I got so behind this week! But I wanted to get them all in, hence the three cards! We’ll start off with the usual Monday card for the Paper Players…

Despite my manliness I do enjoy making a nice girly card from time to time! The base of this card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I flagged a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. On top of that is a White Tea Lace Paper Doily. The floral piece is cut from some American Crafts Glitter Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die to cut out a piece of vellum to serve as the pocket for my greeting which is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I punched a hole in the top and threaded some Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine though it and slipped it into the little vellum pocket. A few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some more of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me complete the card. The pink, pearls and doily make it girly right?!

Next up we have my card for his week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I used the sketch in a not so literal way this week. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and the greeting is stamped in Soft Suede using the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. All of the images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used the coordinating Bird Frame Cuts to cut them all out. For the bird I used Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon, his feet are Hello Honey, the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the branches are Soft Suede. A little White Signo Gel Pen and Sakura Black Gel Pen make his eye a little more realistic. All of the pieces are then adhered to the background with either Foam Tape or SNAIL. I just love that bird and can’t wait to try him out in other colors!

And last but certainly not least is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I got to use some new goodies from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog which you can order from starting June 1st! The card base for this one is Whisper White and I ran a piece of the Vintage Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape down the left side. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the card. The flag on top of that is a piece of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. The butterfly is from one of the NEW Host Sets called Floral Wings. I stamped the butterfly in Daffodil Delight, the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Pacific Point. Since the dies aren’t available yet I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some pearls go down the body and a few random Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around the card. Finally my greeting is form the same set and it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. A fun, bright, cheery card even if I do say so myself!

Mojo 397

I’m getting a late start to my Saturday! The past three days have been busy and I guess I needed to recover a bit! It was another beautiful day here yesterday. Marissa and I even snuck out for a little Starbucks in the morning. After work I headed home once again to retrieve Taylor before going to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for last night’s card class – take two. It was another great class with Reverse Confetti! Lots of fun peeps including Andrew, Brian, Sandy and Dina! We all had a nice time and they again really enjoyed the cards! Here are some pictures from the class…

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I had the urge to use some of the goodies from this year’s Sale-A-Bration, lord knows that I have enough of it left! LOL! My card base is the usual. The background is a piece of Sahara Sand that I cut out with the stitched frame from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Bundle of Shapes Dies. Down the middle is a piece of the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. A piece of Ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack goes around the lower half and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut out another piece of the Best Year Ever DSP and some Whisper White. The greeting is from the Best Day Ever Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I flagged a piece of Soft Suede and Crushed Curry and adhered them in the top left. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Espresso Sequins are adhered randomly with some Crystal Effects. I love the soft colors in the DSP and the repeated circles on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge!
