Well at least it’s Thursday! My week is still crawling along. My day was nice, the weather was pretty good again although tonight is supposed to start our five day stretch of rain. I have a little rant to share with you today. I’m really enjoying this new artist called Sam Smith. He has released a bunch of songs and I love every single one of them. His album comes out soon and I can’t wait. So I saw Tuesday that he is having a concert at the Apollo Theater in NYC and tickets went on sale yesterday morning. I was on TicketMaster at exactly 10:00am and all of the tickets were sold out. Really?! Around 12:00 I went on StubHub and sure enough there are all of these tickets available for three and four times the price. Call me crazy but I thought ticket scalping was illegal? If I was the artist I would be really annoyed that people that actually wanted to see me couldn’t now because TicketMaster is a scam. Sorry, just had to share, now back to our regularly scheduled levity! 🙂

So much going on the blog this week that I’m just getting to post my Mojo Monday card today! Our sketch this week is provided by Julee Tilman…

    Mojo346

Fun, simple and it was one of those where I created the card in my little brain when I saw the sketch. My card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For my background I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp on a piece of Very Vanilla in Baked Brown Sugar and backed it with a piece of Coastal Cabana. A strip of Bermuda Bay goes down the left side and also makes the two flagged strips under the circle. Speaking of the circle it is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and pierced around the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack. The shell is from the By the Seashore Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar on Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with my Paper Snips. My greeting is from the Express Yourself Host(ess) Stamp Set and is also stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the shell and circle to the card. Lastly I put some Basic Jewels Pearls on the strip down the left and the two flagged strips. I really love that Hardwood Background Stamp, the best wood stamp we have ever had, I think! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Your visits are always one of the best parts of my day, I thank you for stopping by and hope that you have a good Thursday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 94

I know it’s Wednesday today, but to me it feels like it should be Thursday or Friday. LOL! It’s been quite busy here on my blog the past few days. Two blog tours in a row and a sort-of double post yesterday. Not that I didn’t love every minute of it, as you know. And I hope you got lots of inspiration and some ideas on how to use products from the new catalog. Weather here was gorgeous again today. On a fun note, the Democratic National Convention is being held down the street from where I work. Traffic should be horrendous for the next two days. Gotta love politics, right?! LOL!

Wednesday means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS094 5-21-2014

I know you are going to be thoroughly amazed, I managed to use only one stamp set for this card! My card base is Tangelo Twist Card Stock. The background is a piece of Whisper White, I used the Chevron Border Punch across the bottom and stamped one of the images from the Hello Love Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon. The bird on the arrow and the sun are also from the same stamp set and are stamped in Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist. I used my trusty Paper Snips to cut them both out. I punched out a piece of Hello Honey with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to go behind the sun and the bird and I adhered them all to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Up top is a piece of Hello Honey punched out with the Banner Punch and a heart punched out of Lost Lagoon with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is popped up on top of it. Hello Love is a fun set that has a bunch of different elements that all go nicely together. Now that I think about it, I also used three of the new In-Colors. And there you have my bright, fun, cheery card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! The blog will have some more samples from the rest of the Design Team to inspire you to create a card to add to the gallery. I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek inside the new catalog and as always, thanks so much for stopping by! Have a happy Hump Day!

  • SUO Challenges 97

Hey there! Long time no see! LOL! Did you enjoy the Control Freaks Blog Tour?! Lots of new Catalog goodies! Yes, it’s kind of my second post for yesterday/today. I told you that I had a lot of projects to make over the weekend. And because of all of you I can’t think of anything else that I would rather be doing! Your visits and comments make it all worth it! Let’s see… yesterday work was good, I was a little busy when I got home with more crafty stuff. It did rain here a little last night but just a little. The weather has been absolutely perfect otherwise. I think that Spring is my new favorite season!

It’s Tuesday so here are this week’s specials from Stampin’ Up!

    Weekly Deals 5-20-2014 1

    Weekly Deals 5-20-2014 2

Every other Tuesday I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog with the rest of the talented Design Team for our bi-weekly challenge. This time around the theme is Something Delicious. I thought about it for a little while and settled on cake. That’s delicious right?! I haven’t used the Circle Card Thinlits in a while so I dusted it off for today’s card. My base is Pistachio Pudding Card Stock. I used the Circle Card Thinlits, but left some extra card stock hanging over the end to crete the flip card with another panel. Some of the Lullaby Designer Series Paper* is used to cover the front panels of the card. My greetings and cake are from the new Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. On the front the cake is stamped in Coastal Cabana, the greeting in Hello Honey* and I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in Hello Honey*, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding to create the dots. The Hello Honey* backing is punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and the scallop is from the Circle Card Thinlits set. On the inside of the flip I used the same backing and scallop. The greetings are stamped in Sahara Sand, Pistachio Pudding, Hello Honey* and Coastal Cabana. For a little fun addition I cut out some Coastal Cabana, Hello Honey* and Pistachio Pudding with the star from the set and strung them on some White Bakers Twine. I think it’s a nice little surprise when you open the card, don’t you? Loving the Endless Birthday Wishes set too by the way! There you have my card for the SUO Challenges Something Delicious theme. Stop by the blog to see the other delicious projects the rest of the Design Team has and enter your take in the gallery for us to see! Thanks you so much for coming by to see me once again! I really do appreciate all of your visits! Enjoy the reset of your Tuesday! 🙂

  • Control Freaks May Blog Tour – New Catalog Sneak Peek!

    freakwelcome2013

Time sure flies doesn’t it?! Guess I must be having fun! Welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour featuring sneak peeks of goodies from the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog! I have to say that I am loving the new Catalog, I like the layout and the products are all awesome! If you are following the tour you have arrived here from the talented Melissa Davies’ blog, always great ideas and really fun stuff! This month I have two cards and a little box that can hold a treat!

First up is a card using the new Sea Street Stamp Set and the Maritime Designer Series Paper. I used Real Red Card Stock for my card base and the background is a piece of Coastal Cabana that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Remember that one from Sale-A-Bration? It’s back! The greeting is from the Something to Say Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on Whisper White and cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. Two pieces of paper from the Maritime Designer Series Paper Pack are up next. The top square has a heart cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and is mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the greeting in the middle. The little octopus is from the Sea Street Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with my Paper Snips. I love to fussy cut but he was a little bit of a challenge! LOL! The fun patterns in the DSP and the cute little octopus make for a fun card!

CF May New Cat Prev Octopus Love Card-WM

My second card uses one of my favorite new sets. I’m a huge fan of the details in the stamps! This card starts off with a base of Garden Green Card Stock. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla stamped with the World Map Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. The three images are from the Traveler Stamp Set and are stamped in Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut them all out with my Paper Snips, much easier than the octopus! The greeting I chose is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Word Bubbles Framelits to cut it out and snipped off the point to make it a perfect rectangle. Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere everything to the card. I think the images with the map and the greeting make for a happy card. Travel means possibilities and fun. It’s definitely the life that I imagine!

Finally I have a little box for you. It’s the perfect size for a little treat or to put a gift card in. The box is created using a piece of Hello Honey Card Stock and the Hamburger Box Bigz XL Die. On the top is a bow that I cut out from a piece of Lullaby Designer Series Paper with the Gift Bow Bigz XL Die. I used the new Fast Fix Adhesive to assemble it and a Stampin’ Dimensional holds it to the top of the box. My greeting on the front is from the Label Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and punched out with the Artisan Label Punch. A quick fun project that would make anyones birthday a little more fun!

  • Paper Players 196

Well, I had a pretty relaxing Sunday. I got up this morning and started working on my projects that i needed to get finished. I had a lot to do today so an early start was good. I stopped for a bit to do my laundry and the continued before taking a break in the afternoon to watch two movies. I really do enjoy my TV time, and to think that I gave it up all together for almost three years! It’s a nice way for my brain to have some quiet time. I have a lot going on at the moment and I really need it! How was your weekend? Good I hope!

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time once again for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week Ann has given us a CAS floral theme…

    Paper Players #196

I got the idea for the layout of this card from Pinterest. I also got to use one of my favorite punches! My card base is a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. On the left side is a piece of Moonlight Designer Series Paper*. I stamped my image from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black*. The stem of the flower is colored in with my Mossy Meadow* Stampin’ Write Marker. For the flowers I used my Blender Pen and Blackberry Bliss*. I also stamped the image from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set in the same color. Down the left side I used the Spiral Border Punch*, which will be back from retirement in the new catalog! Woo hoo! Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the panel to the card. There you have my card for this week’s CAS floral challenge from Ann for the Paper Players. I’m loving the bLackberry Bliss, does’t it make your mouth water a little when you say it?! Thank you for paying me a visit, I hope you enjoyed the card and have yourselves a great Monday! 🙂

  • Hello Moonlight Feathers

Well, we finally did get the rain last night and some really strong wind to go along with it. I would say that it really rained good from about 8:00PM until 2:00AM. Again, I’ll take the rain over snow any day thank you! And it’s beautiful and sunny out this morning! Other than that my Friday was a good one. Work was good. I did get a new 36″ HP DesignJet printer so I can print posters. It is quite large and sort of looks like a piano! I came home and crafted for a bit and watched some TV, relaxing is always a good thing. I have a ton of projects to make today, it will be a happy crafty day for me. No Manhattan this weekend, maybe next weekend?! What are all of you up to?

I didn’t have any particular challenge to post for today so I made a just for fun card. I wasn’t really loving the Tangelo Twist* but I think I may be warming up to it! My card base is Soft Sky Card Stock and the background is a piece of Tangelo Twist* that I embossed with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s cut to 3 3/4″ x 5″ to let more of the base show. The greeting is from the Hello Love Host(ess)* Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon* and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. My two “feathers” are created with some Moonlight Designer Series Paper* and the Ovals Collection Framelits. A few Mini Glue Dots hold them in place behind the rest of the greeting which is also stamped in Lost Lagoon*. A Subtles Designer Button with a piece of Lost Lagoon* and a Basic Jewel Rhinestone that I colored with the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers goes on the banner over the bottom of the feathers to complete the card. I think the Soft Sky, Tangelo Twist* and Lost Lagoon* make quite a bright and fun color combination don’t you?! So there is my just for fun card for today. I hope that you enjoyed it and getting a good look at the new In-Colors. I like them more and more each time I use them! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to come by and visit, it makes my day! Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 204

Love Friday! I said that once on a card this week already didn’t I?! LOL! Well, I really do love Friday! My trip into Manhattan last night was nice except that it has gotten warm enough for the Subways to start to have that lovely pungent odor again! I got to my friend Ella’s and she had gotten me a nice slice of pizza with big chunks of garlic, yum! We had some wine and caught up. She is such a great person. I did manage to snap a picture of the 6 train as it was pulling in. Going into the city at 6:00PM is always fun. You have to fight your way through the crowds that are heading to Penn Station, it’s not an easy task!

    6 at 59th Street

See all of that yuck in the middle of the tracks? I think that’s what gives the Subway it’s signature smell!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge from Margaret Moody…

    PPA 204

I always like to have some masculine birthday cards on hand and the new Traveler Stamp Set* is great for those. My card is sort of inspired by my train rides last night too. The base is Lost Lagoon* Card Stock, a new favorite of mine! I stamped the locomotive from the Traveler Stamp Set* in Lost Lagoon* on Very Vanilla and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. The strip of paper is from the Modern Medley Designer Series Paper Pack and is also backed with some Basic Black. I choose my greeting from the Label Love Stamp Set, also stamped it in Lost Lagoon* and punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch. A piece of Basic Black is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and backs the greeting. They are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sketch provided a great layout for a nice and simple masculine card don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. Thank you for stopping by and make sure that you have an amazing Friday! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 136

Boy did my allergies kick in today! I don’t usually have allergies until around September but I am stuffed big time. I started the Claritin so in three days I should feel better! The sun was shining until around 1:00 yesterday and then it started to get cloudy. It misted a little last night but today we are supposed to get some showers. It’s Thursday and I plan to take a little trip in to the city tonight and on Saturday, like I said yesterday it’s been too long. That of course will make today and tomorrow go a little slower as is always the case when you have something to look forward to. I stopped by my friend Sandy’s last night and we had a nice little visit. She is so great! I’m lucky in the friends that I have and I know it! 🙂

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Sweet Amy has given us this sketch…

    Freshly Made Sketches #136

I took a look at the sketch while I was at work and began to formulate my idea, by the time I got home the card was done! LOL! I used Whisper White for my card base and covered the entire front with a piece of Hello Honey* that I embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The square in the middle is a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack and is backed with a piece of Sahara Sand. Next up is a strip of Sahara Sand and another strip of the Moonlight DSP with the right side flagged. My greeting is from the Label Something Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss* and punched out with the Hexagon Punch. Honeycomb always needs a beee right, mine is from the Springtime Hello Stamp Set and is stamped in Hello Honey* and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the square, greeting and bee to the card. Blackberry Bliss* and Hello Honey* look pretty good together don’t you think?! And I have already professed my love for the Moonlight DSP! A simple card but the little bee adds so much! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Amy. I had fun making the card and I thank you for coming by to see it. Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 93

Apparently either I got the weather wrong or the weather man did! It was another lovely day here yesterday, cooler but beautiful. I think they said the rain was supposed to start sometime today and then again on Friday. Work was nice again today, I usually have a little morning chat with my boss when she comes in and I have come to really enjoy it. When I got home last night I made a card and then went out an ran some errands. I needed to get some lunch for the rest of the week and pick up a new screen protector for my watch. The rest of the evening was quiet, which is always nice.

Today is Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge…

    PCCCS093 Sketch 5-14-2014

I had a little fun with the sentiment on today’s card and you’ll appreciate it when you see it! My card base is Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. The tag, lower flag and Love circle are all from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Collection and the Accessory Pack. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Whisper White to back the love and the two more from Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzaz. The Friday is from the Project Life Day to Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black. I used the Angled Tag Topper Punch on the journaling card and trimmed a little off the bottom. An Essentials Wooden Elements triangle is at the top. I also cut out a piece of adhesive cork sheet with the Circles Collection Framelits and slipped it behind the tag. All of the elements are adhered to the card and each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the nice bright colors and patterns in the Project Life set and the way the triangle and cork oppose all of the modern geometric elements. You can also see why I said that I had fun with the greeting, Love Friday, yes I do! LOL! A fun card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge, don’t you think?! Make sure and go over to the blog to check out the other projects from the rest of the design team and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your interpretation of the sketch. Love having you visit with me, thanks! Enjoy your day everyone! 🙂

It was another nice day here yesterday, a little more humid than Sunday but sunny for most of the day. I’m very happy to see that Spring has finally arrived! We are supposed to get some rain over the next few days but I think that Sunday more than made up for a few days of rain. My day yesterday was nice, work productive but not crazy. I had some dinner with my parents and then came home and Andrew and Christine stopped by for a bit to discuss a fundraiser that we are working on. I’ll give you more details as things get finalized. It’s going to be a lot of fun and it’s for a really good cause! For a little added bonus at the end of today’s post are the roses that I made for my mum for Mother’s Day.

It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for some new weekly deals from Stampin’ Up! Here are this week’s specials…

I looked at the sketch yesterday morning before I left for work and actually put the card together in my little brain while I was at work! Love when I can do that! I’m also giving you a look at the new In-Colors which I’m loving! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire front with a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack*. The panel is a piece of Hello Honey and I cut the circles out with the Circles Collection Framelits. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card over the DSP, but let it peek through the circles and the left side. The two other circles are also cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits from Blackberry Bliss* and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss* and cut out with the Banners Framelits. A thin strip of Basic Gray goes down the left and it’s adhered to the circle with SNAIL. The Moonlight Designer Series Paper* is great, love the colors and patterns. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and your sneak peek at the new In-Colors and Designer Series Paper. Your visits keep the creativity flowing and your comments make my days brighter! Thank you for your visit and have a great Tuesday! 🙂
