Affection Brocade Friend

Good Sunday morning everyone. How is the weekend so far? Mine has been productive which is a very good thing. I made a few projects and then my friend Kim wanted 10 cards so I made those too. I’m off to the city today to see her and drop them off. It’s a little cloudy out now but hopefully it will clear up. Today’s card is my swap from my meeting that I said I would post last Saturday! Time just gets away sometimes when you’re having fun! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Basic Gray with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the middle and adhered it around the sides with Sticky Strip. The stamped images are all from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and are cut out with my Paper Snips. The Scalloped cloud image is stamped in Pool Party, The No. 1 flag in Primrose Petals, the wings in Basic Gray and the friend is also stamped in Primrose Petals. They are all adhered to each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then to a piece of Vellum Card Stock with SNAIL. The whole thing is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals that I hid behind the stamped images. For a little bling I punched out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Small Heart Punch and adhered it with a Mini Glue Dot. Affection Collection is definitely one of my favorite stamp sets and I love it in these colors. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and have yourselves a great day!

PPA 140 Affection Postage Window

Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday! What are you all up to this weekend? I actually started cleaning last night and surprisingly got more accomplished that I thought I would. I’m off to a good start now lets see if I can keep it going! Today’s post is for the bi-monthly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a color challenge…

A very interesting color combination that uses one of my favorite new In-Colors, Summer Starfruit. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Baja Breeze with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The edging is made by punching a piece of Real Red with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cutting it in half lengthwise. I adhered the whole thing to the base with SNAIL. The middle image consist of a piece of Summer Starfruit that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. On top of that is a piece of Real Red and a piece of Whisper White that I stamped an image from the Affection Collection Stamp Set in Baja Breeze. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch out another piece of Summer Starfruit and Paper-Pierced the middle. To the top of that I stamped and image from the Postage Due Stamp Set in Real Red and punched it out with the Postage Stamp Punch. They are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card. The greeting is also from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and is Stamped in Real Red and punched out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. A piece of Summer Starfruit punched out with the Decorative Label Punch is placed behind it and they are all adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I was surprised at how much I liked the card when I was finished. Most of the time I can picture exactly what I’m going to do before I start but this one took on a life of it’s own! I hope that you enjoyed this Pals Paper Arts Challenge card and thanks for visiting. Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

CCMC 212 Muted Christmas

Hello peeps and happy Friday to you all! I love Friday, it’s such a great day! I have lots to get accomplished this weekend and I’m hosting card class this monday so I have to come up with some neat projects over the weekend and bring some semblance of order to my house! Like I said, lots to do!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the ladies have given us a color challenge…

Like I said the other day I’m really into the non-tradiotional holiday colors. I am determined to use all kind of unusual combinations this year. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I adhered it to the card base with some SNAIL. The middle group starts with a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and my Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. The center stamped images are from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red and Basic Black. I punched the frame out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered it and the window to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered under the window with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Real Red. I used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make the ticket corners on both the Whisper White and Real Red and then mounted it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the color combination and the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing folder paired with the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set makes Holiday cards simple and elegant! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Have an awesome day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #46

Hello everyone! How are we all doing today? I’m doing great! I downloaded my update to My Digital Studio yesterday and I’m going to play with it over the weekend. There are some really neat new features and you can read all about them here. Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. I was lucky enough to be picked as Ann’s Perfect Prince last week! Thanks Ann! This week’s sketch is provided by Lesley…

I was really happy when I saw the sketch, it gave me a reason to use my Top Note Bigz Die. I don’t think I have used it since last Christmas! The base of my card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used a piece of Tangerine Tango 5/8″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon that I got from the Clearance Rack a while ago. Under that I punched the edge of a piece of Certainly Celery with the Scallop Trim Border Punch, then I wrapped the edges of the ribbon around that back of a piece of So Saffron and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. A piece of Whisper White is cut out with the Top Note Bigz Die and I stamped the image form the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set in Certainly Celery. I used the Boho Blossoms Punch to punch out the flowers and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit for the butterflies both in Tangerine Tango. Some Mini Glue Dots keep the on the stamped image and I added some Basic Jewels Pearls to the centers of the flowers. The Top Note is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I flagged the ends and adhered it to a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and used some more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount it to the card. I love the bright and cheery color combination and clean design. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Vanilla Burgundy Joyous Frame

Good morning! Today’s the day! The Holiday Catalog is live! You can place your orders for the new goodies by clicking on the catalog to the right. I hope that you have enjoyed all of the sneak peeks and have gotten some inspiration from them. Today’s post uses new items from the Holiday Catalog. The base of the card is Bravo Burgundy Card Stock. I used the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with some Very Vanilla Card Stock for the background. I flagged a piece of Bravo Burgundy and used a piece of retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and flagged that too and mounted it to the center of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The frame and the ornament are from the new Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I stamped the frame on Sahara Sand and used the Extra Large Oval Punch to punch out the frame and I fussy cut the ornament with my Paper Snips. A Basic Jewels Pearl place in the center of the star finishes off the card. I really like nontraditional holiday colors. This card is a super simple quick and easy one to make and would be great for making a stack to send out to friends. Who wouldn’t want to get this card instead of a store bought one?! Don’t forget, place your order through me and start earning your Anchor Rewards towards any free stamp set of your choice. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Mojo 252 and Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing pretty good, made it through Monday unscathed! I hope the same holds true for all of you. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has give us the round or square choice…

I went with square as I always do. I know, I need to mix it up but I really like the square card better than the round one. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I added two different pieces of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The flagged piece of Very Vanilla is pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The rectangle on top of that consists of a piece of Very Vanilla that is embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and mounted to a piece of Gumball Green. The Cherry Cobbler scalloped edge was created using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and adhered to the back before I adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Circles #2 Bigz Original Die to cut out the Gumball Green circle, Paper-Pierced that too and adhered it to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The greeting is from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. Two SIlver Mini Brads give it a little bling. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies to cut them out and adhered then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new bundles that they have in the Holiday Catalog, they save you 15% when you purchase the stamp set and coordinating framelits together. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Reason to Smile Promotion and bonus $50 Host(ess) promotion. Tomorrow marks the start of the Holiday Catalog order. So many decisions! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for stopping by and have yourselves a great day!

Paper Players #106 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone how was your weekend? Mine was good, too fast but good! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Leslie has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge…

I went with the row on the right going down, favorite color, masculine, punches. It took me a little bit to figure out what my favorite color was but after some careful thought I decided Island Indigo was it! The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock, to that I added a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. In the upper right corner is a rosette also made from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I punched a piece of Island Indigo with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Itty-Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A piece of Riding Hood Red is punched with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and I placed it behind it before I adhered the rosette to the card. The bicycle image and stamp are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, the bicycle is stamped in Island Indigo and I sponged the edges with Island Indigo before I mounted it to another piece of Fan Fair DSP. The postage stamp is stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The H and B are from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. The “appy” and the “irthday” are from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Riding Hood Red and dissected with my Paper Snips. I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I love the images on the Fan Fair DSP, the cancelled stamp looks like it’s really stamped on the paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and thanks as always for visiting! Have a great day!

Tangerine Point Blue Amazing Birthday

Hello everyone and happy Sunday! Yesterday was my friend Kim’s brother Kevin’s Birthday. They had a BBQ and thankfully had tents because it poured here on and off today. We had little bursts of sunshine so all wasn’t bad. Kevin is Autistic and one of the happiest people I know. He got video games and Mets tickets but his favorite gifts are coke, pickles and BBQ potato chips! Wouldn’t life be great if that’s all it took for us to be happy?

I used the closest colors I could come to the Mets colors for his card. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango Card Stock and I used the Distressed Dots Wood Mount Background Stamp stamped in Tangerine Tango for a nice tone-on-tone background. The happy birthday is from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack to create the ticket corners and also to punch out the two circles of Tangerine Tango on either side. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut out a piece of Brights Stack Designer Series Paper. The greeting is mounted to the cut out with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set for main image and it is stamped in Pacific Point. Then I cut it out with my Paper Snips and cut off the ribbon part from the bottom and adhered that to the card with SNAIL. Two pieces of Tangerine Tango Striped 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon formerly from the clearance rack are flagged and adhered to the ribbon part and then the round is adhered with SNAIL over that. The center image is from the same set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango, punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and mounted to the main image with a Stampin’ Dimensional too. I love the simplicity of this card and hope that you enjoyed it too. Happy Birthday Kevin and to all of you thank you for visiting and have a great day!

CCMC 211 Sketch Challenge and Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to the Saturday edition of my JK Cards! LOL! I’m trying to think of some different ways to start my posts. 🙂 What are you all doing for the weekend? Did you watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? I DVR’d it so I can skip through what I don’t really want to see. I have two parties to go to today so I get to see my peeps which is always great! Maybe later I’ll tune in to see what’s going on. over in London.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I wanted to do a holiday card and use some more of the new products but I didm’t want to use traditional colors. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack* for the center and cut two pieces of Very Vanilla with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. I adhered the cut pieces to the card and then the whole thing to the base with some SNAIL. The Cherry Cobbler doily in the middle is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the ornament from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* with Versamark. The coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* make cutting them out a breeze. The ornament is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Vintage Faceted Designer Series Button is threaded with Linen Thread and I tied a piece of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla to it that I stamped with merry from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. The embellishment is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. For the greeting across the bottom I stamped the first half of christmas cheer from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge it before mounting it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like this card, especially the color combination. It has an understated elegant holiday feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have an excellent day!

Pumpkin Limeade Preserved Woodgrain Thanks and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday! I hope that everyone has some good things planned for this weekend. It’s supposed to rain here today and tomorrow but it’s supposed to be nice on Sunday. Today’s card is a 3 x 3 that I made as a thank you for a friend of mine. The base of the card is Naturals White Card Stock and to that I added a piece of Lucky Limeade that I embossed with the new Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. I flagged a piece of Pumpkin Pie and on top of that I stamped the greeting from the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade on Naturals White and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The pieces are adhered to the card with a small piece of Sticky Strip. I find that when I mount things to embossed card stock sometimes SNAIL just isn’t enough! The jar and the leaves on the pear are stamped in Lucky Limeade, the pear is markered in Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso on Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and they are all cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies*. The stamps are also from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set*. I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the top of the jar before I adhered all of the pieces together to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The button is a Brights Collection Designer Button and I threaded some more Linen Thread through the holes before I attached it with a Mini Glue Dot. For a little added detail I stamped the pear and leaves on the envelope. I have made a few 3 x 3 card with the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set but as you can see, just by changing a few elements and colors you can have a whole new look! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to check in. I really appreciate it and love the comments. Have an awesome Friday!
