Mojo 247

Hello everyone and how are you all doing today? I’m doing well. It rained here again yesterday and actually was a little chilly out last night, however it’s nice and sunny and cool outside this morning. Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. Julee Tilman has give us this to work with…

Like I keep saying one day I will give the round card a try but for this week I went with square again. The base of the card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I used my Big Shot to emboss a piece of Primrose Petals Card Stock with the Petals-A-Plenty Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I cut a frame out of Whisper White Card Stock with my Paper Trimmer and the randomly stamped one of the images from the Four Seasons Stamp Set (Host(ess)) in Gumball Green. I placed a piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper behind it and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The band underneath the main image is Summer Starfruit and I used a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon down the middle. The large stamped image is also from the Four Seasons Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out using the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I stamped the image a second time and punched the middle out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The whole thing is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I really like the new In-Colors and the unusual combination on today’s card especially. I hope that you enjoyed today’s post and thank you so much for checking in. Have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #101

Good morning everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was very nice. My friend Kim was out for the weekend, the party was great on Saturday and yesterday it was beautiful outside. It rained a little here last night and looks like rain today too but all in all it was a great weekend. Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week Lesley has given us this sketch…

My card starts with a base of Certainly Celery Card Stock. In the middle is a piece of Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper and on either side I used the Large Scallop Edgelits Die with some Rose Red Card Stock. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, a 2 Step Stamp Set, and are stamped in Pretty In Pink and Rose Red for the flower and the leaves are stamped in Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. I cut both images out with my handy Paper Snips and mounted them on Stampin’ Dimensionals to a cutout from the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlits Die. The band of Wild Wasabi Card Stock across the middle of the card is embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Finally the greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set, stamped in Rose Red, I punched it out with the Modern Label Punch and then punched a piece of Rose Red Card Stock with the same punch and cut it half and adhered it to the back. The color combination is nice and bright and cheery and the greeting makes the card perfect for a birthday. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a great Monday!

Good morning! Happy Sunday to you all! How is everyone’s weekend so far? Mine is going pretty well. The party yesterday for my friend Tony’s was a lot of fun. My friend Kim Doi, my daughter Taylor and I snuck out last night, put the top down in the car and went for a ride down to Long Beach. We had nice long walk on the boardwalk, about 3 miles. The weather was perfect yesterday and it looks nice out today too.

Today’s post is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time for the now bi-weekly challenge we have a sketch challenge…

Nice and simple and I thought the perfect sketch for me to use my Floral Frames Framelits Dies. The base of my card is Rose Red Card Stock and to that I added a piece of the Floral District Designer Series Paper. I stamped the image from the Daydream Medallions in Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry and cut them out and a piece of coordinating card stock for each with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. I used my Bone Folder to slightly curl the edges of the stamped images. The middle of the Tangerine Tango one has a stamped image from the Lacey & Lovely Stamp Set punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and the Rich Razzleberry one has an image from the A Fitting Occasion Stamp Set punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. The Fleur De Lis is cut out with my Paper Snips. All of the elements are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I took a piece of 1/2″ Baja Breeze Card Stock and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the thank you from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Rich Razzleberry and then scored it to make it pop up a little for a raised ribbon look. I love the bold look of the card and hope it inspires you. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!]

Hello everyone and welcome to Saturday! It’s my friend Tony’s 30th birthday today and we are having a little party for him later. I’ll get to see my peeps! Wee! It’s supposed to be nice out today and in the 80’s. Yesterday we had torrential rain for about 2 hours and it is still muggy out. My friend Kim is also coming out to visit from Manhattan tomorrow, it’s going to be a great weekend!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch challenge to work with…

I looked at it an thought how nice and simple, I still managed to use about 10 different things! The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. The top part of the angled paper is a piece from the World Spectacular Designer Series Paper. Next we have a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon. On the Very Vanilla piece I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies and the letters are from the Lovely Letters Alphabet Stamp Set and they are stamped in Midnight Muse. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get them all lined up. The you on the bottom was markered in Midnight Muse and is from the retired Engraved Greetings. I punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and then used the Decorative Label Punch with some Calypso Coral to mount it on before adhering it to the card with SNAIL. For a little balance I used one of the Everyday Enchantment Brads from the 2012 Sale-A-Bration catalog. I punched out a piece of Midnight Muse with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and used the Paper-Piercing Tools and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for a little added texture. It’s mounted to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The color combination is very different for me and I like it more than I though I would. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary card and that you have a wonderful Saturday! Thanks for checking in! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #40

Good morning! I hope that yesterday was the last day of the heat for a while although, it’s 80 degrees out now. When I got in my car yesterday at 5:00pm the temperature gage said it was 101 degrees! Now, that is way too hot! However, I was in the car at 10:00pm with the top down and it was gorgeous. I wanted to take a minute to say hello to a great friend of mine, Isabella. She is a wonderful person and I hope that she is having a nice time.  Now, on to today’s post which is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches. Lesley has given us this to work with…

I don’t have an easy way to cut out an Oval so I decided to use the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The stamped image is from the Just Believe Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I used my Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker to define the edge ever so slightly. The top part of the background is a piece of Chocolate Chip Card Stock and the bottom is a piece of International Bazaar Designer Series Paper. I used a piece of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon to cover the seam between the two pieces of paper and then adhered it to the card base of Lucky Limeade. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are stamped in Perfect Plum. I added some Basic Jewels Pearls to each one for the body and then adhered them to the label with Stampin’ DImensionals. I also added 3 more pearls to the top right corner. The greeting is also from the Just Believe Stamp Set and is stamped in Perfect Plum. I used the Paper-Piercing Tool and the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack just under the greeting and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too. I love the Lucky Limeade and Chocolate Chip together and the unexpected addition of the Perfect Plum with the coordination between the Designer Series Paper and butterflies add that little something extra. Thank you so much for checking in with me and have a great FRIDAY!! 🙂

Teeny Bitty Fancy Fan Indigo Pool Box

Good morning people! It was a scorcher here in New York yesterday. It got up to 94 degrees and it’s supposed to go up to 98 degrees today but feel more like 105! Where is my nice weather from this past weekend?! This is way too hot for me. It’s supposed to get a little more bearable over the weekend. How is the weather by you? Leave a comment and let me know! For today’s post I decided that I would show you one of the boxes that I made over the weekend. I need to take little creative breaks while I was making the Wedding Invites so I did some 3D projects. The box is made using the Simply Scored. I used a piece of 12″ x 12″ Pool Party Card Stock for the top and bottom of the box and scored on all four sides at 2 1/4″ and 4 1/2″. On the top I used a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock and to that I added a piece of Naturals White Card Stock that I embossed using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Under the paper bow is a piece of Island Indigo that I cut out with the Lots of Tags Sizzlits and a piece of Pool Party that I punched out with the Tags Duo Builder Punch, they are adhered to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper bow is Naturals White cut to 1/2″ and stamped with the friend to friend stamp from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Island Indigo ink. A 1/2″ piece of Island Indigo holds it together. The for you is from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set and is cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I punched a hole and used White Bakers Twine and a Vintage Faceted Button secured with a Mini Glue Dot to the top of the bow. I really do love the paper bows and the Vintage Faceted Buttons are a great way to add a little sparkle to your project. I hope that you are inspired to make your own box and paper bows. Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Summer Essentials Fancy Friend

Hello and good morning. It’s supposed to be very hot here today on Long Island, the temperature is supposed to go up to 95! I like the summer but for me 72 degrees is perfect, 95 degrees, a little too hot! In lieu of the temperature shift today’s card is nice and bright and clean. The base of the card is Rose Red Card Stock. I used the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ x 5″, a little smaller than usual to let more of the base show through. The images are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and are stamped in Wild Wasabi and Rose Red ink. I mounted the flowers to a base of Rose Red, added 3 Rose Red brads form the Subtles Collection 3/16″ Brads and tied a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around it. The image across the bottom of the card is stamped in Wild Wasabi. The friends is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is also stamped in Wild Wasabi and punched out with the Word Window Punch. All of the elements are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the font in the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and the stamps in the Summer Sihlouettes Stamp Set are great for so many different projects. I hope that you get a happy feeling from today’s card and that you are having nice sunny weather where you are. Thank you for dropping by and have an awesome day! 🙂

Mojo 246

Happy Tuesday peeps! How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was like any other Monday… not really a fan of Monday at all! Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. The lovely Mary Fish has provided us with this sketch to work with…

What better excuse to use the new Postage Due Stamp Set than a card that needs some squares! The base of my card is Soft Suede and I used the Distressed Dots Background Stamp inked in Soft Suede for a little tone on tone texture. The greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and then I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for the border. Two of the Metallic Brads add a little sublet bling to the greeting and I mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut a piece of Midnight Muse Card Stock to 1/2″ x 5″ and used the 1″ Square Punch to flag the ends. The stamps are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Midnight Muse and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I mounted the stamps to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too. This is a nice quick masculine card and I hope that you like it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Players – Happy 100th Challenge!

Good morning everyone! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. I had a very nice weekend. I spent a good part of it making the wedding invitations for my brother’s wedding. My daughter Taylor was here for most of the weekend with me and she helped a lot. I also went to lunch on Father’s Day with my parents, brother, his fiancĂ© and my daughter. The weather was perfect here too, all in all it was a pretty awesome weekend! Today’s post is for the Paper Players who are celebrating their 100th challenge this week! Wow! 100 challenges, that’s pretty impressive!

This week you got to go through the archives and choose a previous challenge to base your card on. I chose challenge #88…

I started with a base of Pool Party Card Stock. Using my Big Shot I ran a piece of So Saffron Card Stock through it using the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped images are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and the ballon is stamped in Not Quite Navy and cut out with my Paper Snips. I mounted it to a background of Pool Party that is embossed with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed with a piece of Not Quite Navy. They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the winner tickets in Pool Party and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The happy birthday is also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and is stamped in Not Quite Navy and I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Shaped Punch Pack to create the ticket corners. Behind that is a piece of Pool Party that I embossed using the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. Along the bottom edge is a piece of Not Quite Navy that I punched with the Scallop Edge Border Punch. For a little something extra to help the Paper Players celebrate I made a matching box. The box is made uses the Simply Scored Scoring Tool which makes 3D projects a breeze. The paper bow was inspired by the cover of the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog. I really like them and I actually made a few of them and I’ll post them later in the week. It’s 1/2″ strips of Pool Party Card Stock and I used the happy birthday from the From My Heart Stamp Set to stamp the strips. I then flagged the ends of the bottom two strips and curled the top two pieces and formed some circles. It’s all stacked and adhered with Sticky Strip. The other images are from the same set I used on the card, You’re Amazing. I hope that you like this weeks Paper Players 100th Challenge card and box. Congratulations again the fabulous ladies over there and here’s to 100 more challenges! Have a great day! 🙂

Happy Father’s Day!

Good morning everyone and Happy Father’s Day to all of you dad’s and to the mom’s that do double duty. I’m posting two cards today, one that I made for a friend of mine and the second one for my dad. The first card uses the very first set that I purchased from Stampin’ Up!, The Open Sea. It was in last year’s Summer Mini and it is still one of my favorite masculine sets. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. All of the image are from The Open Sea Stamp Set. The ship and the Anchor are stamped in Night of Navy and the log page is stamped in Chocolate Chip. The ship and anchor are cut out with my Paper Snips and mounted to the log which is backed by Night of Navy and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is also stamped in Night of Navy. For a nice finishing touch I tied a piece of Linen Thread around the log before I mounted it to the card With Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The second card is actually a CASE that I saw in a video from Brenda Keenan on Stampin’ Connection (The Demonstrator Forum). I used Early Espresso Card Stock for the base. The shirt and tie are Nautical Expedition from the Clearance Rack that coincidentally was intended to go with The Open Sea Stamp Set. The collar is held down by double Stampin’ Dimensionals and two Silver Mini Brads. The dad is from the Family Reunion Stamp Sets and is stamped in Marina Mist. If you would like to see Brenda’s great video tutorial you can head over to her blog and check it out here.

Thank you so much for checking in with me today and once again Happy Father’s Day!! 🙂
