Good morning! How is everyone this fine Saturday? The weather is supposed to be nice here today so I am going to have to go for a ride in the convertible later. I also have to start on my brother and his fiancé’s invitations. It’s going to be another crafty weekend! Today’s card is for this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color Challenge…

I have been wanting to use the Fine Feathers Stamp Set and thought this would be a good color combination to take a first run with it. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I took a piece of Cherry Cobbler and embossed it with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It’s backed with a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock and adhered to the card with SNAIL. I stamped the feathers from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set in Island Indigo and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the chevron piece with SNAIL. I stamped the bird from the Nature Walk Stamp Set in Crumb cake and cut him out With my Paper Snips and darkened his eye with the Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker and adhered him to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler. The long feather is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the detail in the Fine Feather Stamps and the chevrons mimic the v’s in the feathers. Freshly Made Sketches #39

Now on to today’s business. Today’s card is for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #39. They have given us the following sketch to work with…

What a nice simple layout. I decided that it has been a while since I made an easel card so that’s what I did. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I used the Wedding Words Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel, inked in So Saffron, for the partial background on Very Vanilla Card Stock. A piece of So Saffron is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and I used the new Paper-Piercing Essentials Pack and the new Paper-Piercer to create the border on the cut out. To that I added a piece of Basic Gray cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two Champagne glasses are from the Embellished Events Stamp Set and are stamped in So Saffron and Embellished with some Basic Jewels Rhinestones. The champagne glasses and Apothecary piece are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also added a rhinestone to the ring on the background because you can never have too much bling! The bottom of the card has a piece of So Saffron with a piece of embossed Basic Gray. I used the Eyelet Border Punch (Retired) on Very Vanilla and adhered it each side. The greeting is stamped in Basic Gray and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch and I used the Paper-Piercing Essentials Pack for the border around the greeting. I love the color combination, which was inspired by my friend Sandy, and the Embellished Events Stamp Set too! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and congratulations again to LeAnne! PPA 136

Hello there! How are you today? I’m good now that it has finally stopped raining and the sun is out. It rained all day yesterday, that fine rain that doesn’t justify an umbrella but too if you don’t have one you get soaked! I hope that you are experiencing nice weather where you are. So, today is the day that I will pick the winner of the blog candy and it will be announced tomorrow morning. Thank you for your comments! On to today’s card that is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time is a color challenge…

What a very patriotic choice of colors. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Real Red from the Brights Stack Designer Series Paper. I ran a pice of Night Of Navy Card Stock through my Big Shot using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to put on top of that. The image and “Best” are from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set and are stamped in Night Of Navy and Real Red. The “Best” is punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and the image is cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies to cut out the ribbon in Real Red and adhered it on the stamped ribbon. Both pieces are mounted on Stampin’ Dimensionals. The friend is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is stamped in Night Of Navy and backed with a piece of Night Of Navy Card Stock. This color combination works great with the stamp sets and I hope that you like the finished card. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Mojo 245

Hello everyone and welcome to Wednesday. We are cresting the hill headed towards the weekend and it only gets better from here! Today’s card is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. That clever Julee Tilman has given us this sketch to work with…

This was one that as soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to do. I started with a base of Island Indigo and I added a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock that is embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two pieces of Designer Series Paper are from the Fan Fair DSP and I used the 1″ Circle Punch to round two of the corners on each piece. The flagged pieces of Summer Starfruit are cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I have to say that I wasn’t a fan of Summer Starfruit when I first saw it but it is fast becoming one of my favorite colors. All of the stamped images are from the Clockworks Stamp Set and are stamped in Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo. The gears are punched out with the 1/2″ and 1″ Circle Punches and the one behind is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The pocket watch is cut out with my Paper Snips and the dial is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle punch. The hands are also cut out with Paper Snips and all of the elements are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the piece of Island Indigo that is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. The happy birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and also adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way the Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit and Crumb Cake look together. And what a great stamp set and DSP for a masculine card. Paper Players #99

Hello peeps! How was everyone’s Monday? Mine was ok, at least the weather was nice. Have you left your comment on yesterday’s post to enter to win some blog candy? If not you get to the post here. So, head on back and leave a comment. The winner will be announced Friday morning! Now, for today’s post I have made another one of my 3D Window Cards for this week’s Paper Players. Lesley has given us the following color challenge…

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock cut to 12″ x 5 1/2″. If you want the full instructions on how to make the card contact me and I’ll be happy to send them to you. The background is a piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock that is embossed with the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamp is the World’s Greatest Wood Mount that I stamped twice in Lucky Limeade and cut out with my Paper Snips and then cut out the “World’s” and mounted it on Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the next layer I stamped the elephant from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set in Basic Grey and cut him out with my Paper Snips and stamped his hat again in Melon Mambo and cut that out and mounted it to him with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The friend is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Grey and backed with a piece of Basic Grey Card Stock. I stamped the small ticket image, also from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set, in Basic Grey, Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade quite a few times and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Punch. I then used some Two-Way Glue to adhere them around the frame of Crumb Cake Card Stock. I love the color combination and the You’re Amazing Stamp Set is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I used a little creative license and moved things around a bit because I wanted to use the new World Treasures Stamp Set. The peacock from the World Treasures Stamp Set is stamped in Gumball Green and again in Midnight Muse. I used my therapeutic Paper Snips to cut them out and layered then on top of one another. The image across the top, from the same set, is stamped in Midnight Muse and I used the new Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies for the “pinked” edge along the top. Behind the peacock is a piece of Daffodil Delight Card Stock that I embossed with the new Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Across the bottom is a piece of Floral District Designer Series Paper and they are all adhered to the base which is Gumball Green. The greeting, also from the World Treasures Stamp Set, is stamped in Midnight Muse and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Edgelits Dies.The peacock and the greeting are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Freshly Made Sketches #38

A very good morning to you all! How was everyone’s Saturday? Mine was great, I crafted all day! I got all of the elements stamped and cut for the invitations that I’m making and I’ll put them together tomorrow. As an added bonus I was a Cut Above over at the Paper Players! I love playing along each week with the fabulous ladies over there. You can see the original post here and see the Paper Players post here. For today’s card I made a card for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches. Linda Callaghan has come up with this sketch for this week…

I looked at the sketch and decided to use the new From My Heart Stamp Set. The image is nice and large and can stand all on it’s own. I stamped it in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla Card Stock and backed it with a piece of Red Riding Hood Card Stock. A piece of Riding Hood Red 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon from the Clearance Rack is tied around the bottom and some Basic Jewels Pearls are added to the four corners. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount it to the card. The top layer of the background is a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. Under that is a piece of More Mustard that I used the new Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies on. Everything is adhered to a base of Riding Hood Red Card Stock. What a nice card to send to a friend just to let them know that you are thinking of them. I hope that you liked today’s card and thank you so much for checking in. Have a great Sunday!

Indigo Argyle Amazing Card

Good morning everyone! How are all of you on this beautiful Saturday? I’m good and getting all geared up to start my invitation making marathon! I will have to escape for a little while today, especially if it stays sunny out. 🙂 Today’s card is another one that uses all new products for the new 2012-2013 Catalog and also would make a great masculine card. The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock for the background. The images and greeting are from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set and are stamped in Island Indigo. The large image is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I used the Paper-Piercing Essentials Pack, Stampin’ Pierce Mat and the Paper-Piercer to create the border. I love it because it has templates for a lot of the Framelits and Punches and you can either do create a pierced border inside or outside the cutout. The “Amazing” is stamped again and cut out with my Paper Snips and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two pieces of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon are adhered to the back and then it is attached to the background with more Stampin Dimensionals.  I used the Ticket Builder Duo Punch to punch out the “winner” tickets and adhered them with Stampin Dimensionals too. Who wouldn’t want to get a card that says You’re Amazing for a birthday, thank you or just because. Thanks for visiting today and enjoy your day!

Burgundy Delicate Heart Postage Birthday

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY! One of my favorite days of the week! I have lots of crafting to do this weekend, birthday invitations and wedding invitations, I’ll be busy but loving every minute of it! Today’s card is a quick and easy card to make. It has lots of texture and dimension and I used a color combination that I haven’t used before. I started with a base of Sahara Sand, a color that I often forget about but I think I will use more in the future. I used the new Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with some Bravo Burgundy for the strip on the right side. The large stamped image is from the Postage Due Stamp Set and is stamped in Chocolate Chip. The postage stamp is from the same set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy on Sahara Sand and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. The greeting is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The large image, postage stamp and greeting are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the elegant simplicity and I think that you could even get away with using this for a masculine card too. Thank you for visiting today and I hope that you have a great Friday!

Primrose Lacy Papillon Fan Hello

Happy Thursday! I got my box-o-stampin’ goodies yesterday! It was just like Christmas… only better! Today’s card was made from some of the new stuff that I got yesterday. I started with a base of Primrose Petals Card Stock. I used my Big Shot and ran a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock through with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered it to the front of the card I took a piece of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and wrapped it around the sides and adhered it with Sticky Strip. The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals Ink. I used the coordinating Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch them out. The Hello is from the Lacy & Lovely Stamp Set and is also stamped in Primrose Petals Ink and cut out with my Paper Snips. The teeny tiny label is from the Lovely Little Labels Stamp Set, also stamped in Primrose Petals Ink, and punched out with the Little Labels Punch Pack. All of the stamped items are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity and elegance of the card. The Fancy Fan embossing really helps to make the images pop.
