OSAT March Blog Hop – Birthday Bash!

Hey hey! Happy Thursday! I had a nice productive day at the Store after I had to stop at the bank again yesterday morning! My ATM card didn’t work, thanks citibank! I’ve definitely seen enough of them this week! LOL! Renee had her Kiwi Lane class and my Parent’s stopped by in the morning for a bit. After work I came home and spoke to Heather for a bit. My friend Jim came by and we had dinner, Zorn’s which I haven’t had in forever, and listened to music and talked. A very nice way to end the day indeed!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the talented Megan Thompson, welcome! This month we have a Birthday Bash theme! I don’t know about you but I can always use a Birthday card! I made a card and a coordinating gift box to share with you today!

First up is my card! I used the Lawn Fawn Out of This World Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped some of the images from the set in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink so that I could color them in with my Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of Black to be slightly smaller than my card front and heat embossed the greeting in the bottom left with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added the images to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then stamped one of the stars from the set in Yeti Ink randomly over the background. Finally I used my Signo White Gel Pen to add dots to the background and give it a little more of a space feel. I think this would make a great card for a little boy’s Birthday, don’t you?

Next I have the coordinating box. I used the Lawn Fawn Fancy Box Lawn Cut to cut out the box and then used the Lawn Fawn Starry Skies Lawn Cut to cut out the stars from the lid. Some more images from the Out of This World Set are stamped, colored and cut out. I adhered the box together and added the stamped images to the lid with 3D Foam Squares. Again, I stamped the stars and added some dots and it’s done! I love that box, it’s a nice different way to give a gift card or a little present!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and gift box  for the OSAT Birthday Bash Blog Hop! You can click on the next button below to go back to the start and see what the talented Lori Mueller has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 234

Halfway though, almost there! I had an interesting day yesterday. My checking account got screwed up by citibank, they cashed someone else check in my account and were very unhelpful, in fact it may be the worst customer service experience I have ever had! But with a little help from Heather we got it straightened out. Glad that we had to do all of the work to figure out what went wrong. Thanks citibank, I’ll definitely recommend you to my friends… NOT! So that ended up consuming most of my day. I did manage to get a few cards made while I was at the Store. When I got home I had dinner and then went out for a while with Taylor. To end the evening I watched a movie and soaked my feet. Today will be a much better day!! 😀

Since it’s Wednesday that means we have a new Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

I actually managed to keep my card nice and simple! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Starry Skies Lawn Cuts to cut out the starts from a piece of Black. My piece of paper across the top as well as the two flagged pieces are from the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Petite Paper Pad. I adhered the purple and light blue, tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord in a blow and then adhered the other blue piece over that with 3D Foam Squares. After it was all together I adhered the piece to the card base. Next I heat embossed the one of the banners from the Lawn Fawn Bannertastic Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black and then added the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Out of This World Photopolymer Stamp Set, slightly bending the stamp to follow the curve of the banner. A little E-Z Runner holds that in place. I also stamped the rocket from the Out of This World Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with my Copics. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut it out and a 3D Foam Squares holds it in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Onyx Sequins and the card is done! I love the simplicity of the card and the colors! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 89 – A Sketch!

Yup, still cold here! I did have a very fun day in Manhattan yesterday! Ella and I had a nice visit and took a little trip to the Apple Store to get her iPhone fixed. From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to see my friend Anna! We got caught up and I had some Dirty Bird for lunch, delicious. I took the 3:01 train back out to the Island and got to spend some time with my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristan. We had cake for my Dad’s birthday which was on the 1st. I stopped home quick and then went over to Heather’s so that we could take a drive to see our friends Patti and Tom and the kids. We had a nice time and quick ride home. Today I’m back at the Store with lots of things to catch up on! 😀

It’s time now for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

I do love a new release from Lawn Fawn and I haven’t really played with the Bicycle Built for You Set yet so that’s what I used on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Lawn Fawn Rudolph 12×12 Paper and a thin strip of Black Licorice down the left side. To create my little scene I cut out a piece of Mermaid with the Lawn Fawn Zig Zag Circles Stackables, I also used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Borders to cut out a piece of Noble Fir and the Lawn Fawn Road Border to cut out a piece of Black Licorice and Solar White 80lb. The Zig Zag Circles are used again to cut the edges off of them and they are lined them with the Mermaid Circle to adhere them all together. I used a some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhere the circle to the card. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Bicycle Built for You Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. They are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. All that was left to do was to stamp the greeting in the lower right! I do like the set and all of the little pieces that you can change up! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards including this month’s Guest Designer Sue Plote! We hope that you will share your take on the sketch by adding it to the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 487

What a Sunday that was! When I got to the Store in the morning there was water all over, apparently there was an issue with a pipe somewhere in the building and it caused a leak. Renee, Angie and I must have used the Shop-Vac 20 times to vacuum up the water, they finally got it fixed around 3:00. Needless to say I didn’t get much done! My friends Lori and Debbie did stop by the store to pick up some goodies and I was also very happy that Jodi Collins from the My Favorite Things Design Team came in! So nice to get to meet her and chat with her about crafty stuff! You can see her blog HERE! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then watched some TV and read for a little bit. Today I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Ella and maybe take a little trip down to The Ink Pad! Should be a fun day! 🙂

It’s Monday and you know what that means… time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

For some reason lately I have been into some really bright colors! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pale Aqua for the background. All of my images are from the Lawn Fawn How You Bean? Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the jellybean outline repeatedly onto a piece of Crisp Green with Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass Ink to use for my strip down the middle. Next I used the Hero Arts Infinity Circles and Lawn Fawn Zig Zag Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Purple Hearts and Lawn Fawn Gummy Bears 12×12 Paper. I adhered them to a piece of Solar White 80lb and then to the card. The jar is stamped in Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh. I used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut out the stamped jar, a piece of Acetate and another piece of Solar White 80lb. I then cut out the negative of the jellybeans from the stamped jar, lined it up with the blank one and stamped the jellybeans in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are colored in with my Copics. I adhered the acetate to the back of the stamped jar and then used 3D Foam Squares to adhere it to the colored image. For the lid I heat embossed the image onto a piece of Galvanized Curios Metallic with Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. It’s also cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the jar that is then adhered to the card. For my greeting I used the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped the happy in Merman, used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut it out, stamped the birthday also in Merman onto a strip of White and flagged the right side. The happy is adhered with more 3D Foam Squares and the birthday is tucked under the circle. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Raspberry, Amethyst, Pewter and Lemon Drop Sequins for a little sparkle! The jar looks much better in person, with the Acetate it really does look like glass! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Better with You… and Coffee

OMG! It feels like Winter is back! I don’t think that it got out of the teens yesterday and that wind was as strong as ever! Hey Spring, where’d ya go?! I did have a nice productive day at the Store, managed to get two cards made and survived Renee’s kids class! LOL! After work I had a quick dinner with my Parents, they were going to my Brother’s to watch Daniel and Tristan. Taylor came by and we ran a few errands. I cleaned the bathroom, Saturday night fun, and watched Sweet Home Alabama! I never realized but Reese Whitherspoon drives the same car that I have in the movie! Sunday’s are usually quiet at the Store so I’m going to try and get all caught up on my projects! 😀

Today I have my solo post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th blog and I’m sharing another card for the Love Theme Challenge that just finished! You can see my post by clicking HERE and heading over to the Design Team Blog! The post will go live at 11:00AM.

I started by heat embossing the images for the coffee cup and plate onto a piece of Kraft Card Stock with some White Embossing Powder. I do enjoy a little fussy cutting and these images are super easy to cut out. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th By Your Side Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto the plate. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of black and cream patterned paper for the background. I decided that it was a little too bold so I used a piece of Vellum to soften it adhering the images with Foam Tape, including a spoon that I heart embossed onto a piece of gold metallic card, to it and the hiding the adhesive behind them to hold the vellum to the card. A relatively simple card to make that will get sent to someone special just to let them know I’m thinking of them!

I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! We will be starting a new challenge on March 9th so be sure and play along with us for that one! Thanks for stopping by and spending some of your Sunday with me! Have a simply wonderful day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 277

It’s going to be a chilly weekend here, Winter is back! 🙁 I had a nice surprise at the Store yesterday morning, my friend Brian came by for a visit. He needed a custom stamp made and I haven’t seen him in ages! My friend Sue also stopped by which was really nice! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then watched a movie. Renee has a kids class at the Store today and I have many projects to get finished! 😀

Time now for my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

I went with nice and simple just like the sketch! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a little piece of paper that Renee had left over, it’s from the Illustrated Faith line. I die cut the love from the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut from a piece of Chinese Red and two pieces of Solar White 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to a strip of Ballerina Pink with Multi-Matte Medium with the rest of the greeting stamped in Crimson Hybrid Ink. The strip is adhered to the card with 3D Foam Square and a few Pretty Pink Posh Pink Peonies, Raspberry and Sparkling Clear Sequins are added to finish it! I do like the little brush stroke hearts on that Patterned Paper, fun and subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Have a stellar Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 107

Ahhh… Friday! Still my favorite day of the week! I did feel like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz yesterday, it was so incredibly windy! You could actually lean into the wind and not fall over! I had my Pop-Up Box card class at the Store yesterday, a good time as always! Renee left a little early to go and have dinner with her daughter and I had dinner with Daniel and my Parents when I got home. My friend Jim came by and we watched TV and had a nice relaxing evening. I really do need to plan a trip into Manhattan but I think I will wait until the weather gets a little warmer!

Today I have my card for the Fab Friday challenge to share with you…

My card is nice and simple! I started with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My little bit of embossed gold sticking out at the bottom is from the Concord & 9th Lace Leaf Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the leaf in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and cut it out with the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaf Die. Across the card and on top of the leaf is a piece of Deep Blue with both ends flagged. Next up is a piece of American Crafts Gold Glitter Paper and that is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is the Concord & 9th Kind Card Add-On Die, I cut it out of Deep Blue three times and cut off the ends. The die cuts are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the Glitter Card Stock with Multi-Matte Medium. I decided that I liked it nice and simple so I resisted the urge to add some sequins! I do love the simplicity of the card and we all could use as much kindness as we can get! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge. Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thanks for spending some of your Friday with me! Have a fabulous day! 🙂

Paper Players 333

We had a weird day weather wise here yesterday, it was supposed to be in the 70’s and didn’t get past 50 and was windy and misty, just odd. I had one of those I can’t focus mornings but managed to get it together by the afternoon! I made my card for today and for tomorrow too! After work I stopped home and then headed over to the Massapequa Park train station to pick up my friend Chantal! We haven’t seen each other in way too long! We had a lovely dinner at a little restaurant in town and got all caught up! I have missed her! A little TV when I got home and then a relatively early night. 😀

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wonder Petite Paper Pad cut with the largest of the Zig Zag Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts adhered to the front as the background. Next I stamped my flowers, leaves and butterflies from the Lawn Fawn Fab Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Fresh Lavender, Juice Box, Ballet Slippers, Bubblegum, Sunflower, Carrot, Jalapeño and Noble Fir Ink and used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. My greetings are from the Lawn Fawn Happy, Happy, Happy Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Bubblegum, Carrot and Juice Box and also cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I used the Lawn Fawn Zig Zag Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out two pieces of Wildflower Honey and a piece of Ballerina Pink. They are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. All that was left to do was to adhere the images and greetings! I love the nice soft colors and the Happy, Happy, Happy set is one greeting set that everyone should have! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Sketch Challenge from LeAnne! Thanks you for your visit! Have an interesting Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 233

Just another day at the Store, Renee had her All Occasion Card Class and I got to see some customers and chatted with lots of peeps! After work i went to see Heather. We split a chicken cutlet parmesan hero for dinner and watched Joy, well, the end of Joy. After that I came home and got Winston and settled in for a nice evening of TV. Sometimes I just need to be mindless and TV is the best escape! I need to mix it up a little, I think that I need a trip into the city soon! 😀

Today it’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge day! This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe for you…

I started my card by stamping the images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Seahorse Photopolymer Stamp Set in Orange Soda, Soft Apricot, Butter Bar, Soft Vanilla, Wet Cement and Tide Pool and cut them out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. To make my background I stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Soft Brown directly onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My file folder is created with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Tabs Die and a piece of Putty, I added a piece of Seam Binding Ribbon along the bottom and it’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. Next I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die from a piece of Tropical Sea and adhered it to the card with more E-Z Runner. The stamped images are then added with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Brown along the top edge of the filmstrip. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Marigold Sequins finish the card! Love the sea images against the woodgrain, you know me, I think that woodgrain goes with everything! LOL! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thanks very much for your visit today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 88 – Anything But a Card!

Is it just me or do Monday’s seem to last a little longer than other days of the week?! I had a good day despite that! Renee and I worked on projects as always. My friend Arnise stopped by to get some Lawn Fawn goodies and I left a little early. When I got home I took a little nap before dinner and then had a few errands to run before settling in for a smidge of TV before bed. Today more projects and planning, never a dull moment at the Store! 😀

Now on to today’s post, it’s time for a new challenge from Stamp, Ink, Paper

I made a fun little box using Lawn Fawn’s new Fancy Box Lawn Cuts. The box is cut from Moonstone using the die, folded and assembled with some Scor-Tape. To decorate the top I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders and the Lawn Fawn Little Picket Fence Border dies to cut out two pieces of Crisp Green for the hillsides and a piece of Solar White 80lb for the fence. I adhered them to each other with E-Z Runner, trimmed them to fit on the lid of the box, stamped my greeting and adhered them to lid. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Elphie Selfie Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Jet Black. I colored them in with my Copics and cut them out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I added some Gelly Roll Stardust Glitter Pen to the candles and a few 3D Foam Squares adhere the images to the lid and the box is done! I think this would make a nice way to give a gift card or a little prezzie! I hope that you like my Design Team project for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Anything But a Card Challenge! Take a little time to go over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your project to the gallery! Thanks for stopping by to visit me today! Have an awesome Tuesday! 🙂
