Paper Players 286

Happy St. Paddy’s Day! I celebrated a little early with Brian last night, hence the late post this morning! LOL! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte and got most of my stuff cut for class and got to see Renee for a bit. She left early so I stayed and locked up. I had some dinner when I got home and then Brian and I took a ride to Brooklyn to get one of our friend’s cars. He’s a fireman and will be going to the parade today so he didn’t want to drive home later. After we dropped off the car at his house we went to Riley’s so Brian could eat and we ended up having a few beers to celebrate! I’ll be heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for class later on. I get to see Danielle and Andrew, they will be at tonight’s class! Yay!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge…

Paper Players #286

I don’t know why but when I see a bunch of bold colors like these I somehow always try and just use those colors! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Calypso Coral. Next, I took the Simon Says Stamp Present Shaker Craft Die and cut it out from a  piece of Bermuda Bay and Black 110lb. The Black is trimmed out to be the frame for the present and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the Bermuda Bay and then some Foam Tape to create my well for the shaker goodies! To fill up the shaker part I used a little Recollections Mini Black Star Glitter and some Teal Glitter that I got from Target. It’s sprinkled on the card and then the front panel is adhered over it to seal it in. A piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper is then cut out with the bow from the die set and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set is stamped in Onyx Black across the top. A fun simple shaker card that would work well for just about anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge. Thanks for coming by today and I wish you all very happy Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 186

Ahh… midweek! The weather was much nicer here today. Sunny, well the sun tried to come out as much as it could! I spent some time with Daniel, we had pizza for lunch. I also did some cleaning and crafting just like I said that I would. Got some more cards listed on my Etsy store and even got to chat with Michael for a while. I also went up to Michaels and met Taylor and Keira, Taylor called to tell me that they have gotten lots of new goodies in and I had to go and see what they were! If you haven’t been to a Michaels in a while you are in for a pleasant surprise! All in all a pretty good day. Later on today I’m going to run over to Scrap-A-Latte and get ready for tomorrow’s Lawn Fawn class and catch up with Renee! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can ride over there with the top down!

Wednesday and that means that it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew challenge! This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe board…

PCCCS186 DT Tic-Tac-Toe 3-16-2016

I used one of my favorite new sets from Hero Arts! My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. My orchid and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid in a Pot Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped all of the images with my MISTI on Crumb Cake. The first layer of the Orchid is stamped in Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink, Next is some Teeny Bikini and then I used a Prismacolor Yellow Pencil to color in the centers. The stem is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Apple ink along with the first layer of the leaves. The second leaf layer is stamped in Green Leaf and the the third in Olive. My pot is stamped in Schoolhouse Red and the dirt in Khaki. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out and adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is stamped in Teeny Bikini and I added some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Lime Sorbet, Sand and Lemon Drop Sequins around the plant for a little sparkle! I do love my sequins! LOL! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the other Designers have come up with and lets see your take, enter you card into the gallery! Thank you for coming by to spend some time with me today! SIP Challenge 39 – A Sketch from Ginger!

Hi there again! I hope that you had better weather than we did! It was a rainy dreary day here, not a bad for being crafty though! I had to run to UPS to drop off a return to Amazon, FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit when I got back and had some dinner before heading over to see Heather. We watched a little TV and had some wine. A pretty good way to spend a dreary Monday evening! Today I plan to clean a little and get a little more crafty! What’s on for you today?

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we a fun sketch from Ginger…

SIP Sketch Challenge 39 800

My card base starts off with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Black 110lb. I heat embossed the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp onto a piece of Basic Gray with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. My Journaling Card, Gold Doily and Love Flag are all from the My Mind’s Eye Fancy That Collection. I adhered the journaling card to the background with E-Z Runner and then added a strip of Gold Foil Sheet that I flagged the right side on. The square is another piece of Black 110lb, I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper and heat embossed my Mr. & Mrs. from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The square is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flag has a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine tied in a bow thought the holes and is adhered to the square, it’s self adhesive and the same goes for the doily! I heat embossed the heart from the same stamp set in Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder three times and used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch them out. A little Foam Tape secures them. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to give the card even more shine! I do love the journaling card and all of the embellishments from the Fancy That Collection, great colors and fun designs! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Take a peek at the blog and see what the rest of the Team has to inspire you to create a card to post into the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 439

Hello happy blog peeps! How was the weekend? I thoroughly enjoyed mine! I got my laundry done yesterday and managed a little down time too. It was a quiet day except for a few errands with Heather. We went to BJ’s, Target and the new Shop Rite where an older gentleman was pushing his cart through the parking lot and reading his receipt which resulted in him pushing the cart right into the back fender of Heather’s car leaving a nice dent. I’m not sure but I think in a parking lot you should be looking up! Oh boy! Hopefully it won’t cost too much to get fixed! I did watch a movie yesterday, Up In The Air with George Clooney. I had seen it before but it’s a really good movie! Today I’ll be getting some crafty projects finished, what’s on for the start of your week?

Happily I get to start my craftiness off every Monday with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo439

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Hero Arts Large Floral Background Stamp in Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombre Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. A piece of Real Red and Melon Mambo are both stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. I used Red Royal to stamp the Real Red and Bubble Gum to stamp the Melon Mambo. The red is adhered directly to the background and the melon with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly is from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Bubble Gum and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered it to the card with a thin piece of Foam Tape. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink, Raspberry and Watermelon Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I love that funky floral background stamp, especially stamped in the Ombre Ink! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery to share with us! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Freshly Made Sketches 227

Howdy peeps! I hope that you are having a lovely weekend! I enjoyed my day in Manhattan yesterday as I always do! I do love waking up at Kim’s and then just taking the subway down to The Ink Pad. It’s always nice to spend the day with Anna, she even bought me some spinach pie for lunch and it was yummy! I took the 8:43 to Seaford and my parents came and picked me up. When I got home I unpacked my stuff and then sat down and made today’s card. I have some errands to run this morning and the fun task of laundry! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 227

I played around with a new Hero Arts Layering Set! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Scotch Black Glitter Washi Tape down the left side. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Print Background in Tide Pool Ink. The two goldfish are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Butter Bar and Butter Bar to Orange Soda Ombre Ink. The eyes are stamped in Onyx Black. I took the first later and stamped over the fish with Versa-Mark and heat embossed some Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder onto them. They are cut out with my Paper Snips as the coordinating dies are on backorder! My greeting is from the same set and is stamped on the background in Onyx Black. I adhered the background to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam and the goldfish with Foam Tape. I love the way the clear embossing adds so much detail to the goldfish! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I wish you all a stupendous Sunday! 🙂

The Ink Pad Hero Arts Class!

Another fun filled packed Friday! I went and got a haircut in the morning and my mum was there too so Erika dropped Daniel off. We walked around and looked at all of the stuff they have and then Daniel told one of the girls that the tree in the window was dusty! LOL! When I was finished with my haircut I got a text from Brian and he came by and picked me up from my house to go and have some lunch. We had Taco Bell, I haven’t had that in ages! After lunch I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to prepare for class at The Ink Pad. I took the 4:45 train in and got caught up with Jane and Brianna when I got to the store. We had a great class, everyone had fun and made some amazing cards! My friend Kim came for the first time and really enjoyed herself! After the class Kim and I went and had Dirty Bird for dinner and then made our way back up to her apartment. Today I’ll be heading back to The Ink Pad to spend the day with Anna! Here are pictures of my talented students from last night’s class…

Paper Players 285

Happy Friday everyone! It was another absolutely beautiful day here yesterday! I went over to see Sue and I got to have the top down in the car! Oh how I have missed that! We got some Etsy stuff accomplished and went and had bagels for lunch. When we got back to Sue’s we spoke to Michael and then I headed home to see my little Daniel! He came over to my house and let Winston out, gave him a biscuit and then we went for a walk. On the way back he sat on my shoulders and told my mum “look at how tall I am Nanny!” when we got back to the house. When I went to leave he said with a very sad face “Uncle Justin, you didn’t tell Daniel that you love him”. So I told him that I did and I got a hug and a kiss! He is just the cutest little man ever! From there I headed over to Heather’s and we ran up to IKEA to get her another chair and lamp. When we got back I assembled the new goodies and then Adam and Stephanie came over for Thirsty Thursday. Another wonderful day! Today I’ll be off to The Ink Pad for my Hero Arts Class tonight and then I’ll be at Kim’s. It’s back to The Ink Pad for the day tomorrow with Anna! Here is a little selfie of Daniel and I on the way back from our walk…

Danile & Me Walk Selfie

Oh I just love that little guy so much! Note that he has his remote in his hand, you never know when you are going need one of those! LOL!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #285

I did a little hybrid of the two! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Smoky Slate. I stamped my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set In Onyx Black on the background. A piece of Basic Gray is cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the frame with Scor-Tape and then added a layer of Foam Tape. A piece of Solar White 80lb is cut out with the Mama Elephant Landscape Trio Creative Cuts and adhered to the card. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Marshmallow Sequins and then adhered the frame to the card. Some more Solar White 80lb and a piece of Daffodil Delight are cut out with the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The raindrops are from the same die set and are adhered to the Acetate with Multi-Matte Medium. I love that Madison Avenue Frame and the sentiment is a really nice and different one! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so much for coming by and visiting me today! I wish you all the best Friday ever! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Spring has Sprung!

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a lovely two days in Manhattan! My time at The Ink Pad was fun as it always is, I of course picked up some more goodies! LOL! It’s rough sitting there looking at all of the awesome things that they have without leaving with something! I want to thank my amazing friend Kim for her hospitality as always and I look forward to seeing her again on Friday! She’ll be at Card Class and then I’ll be squatting at her place yet again! She really is just the best! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue for Etsy fun and then it’s IKEA and Thirsty Thursday with Heather and the gang later on!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. This month we have a Spring is Sprung theme! It’s quite timely for here in NY, it was 76 degrees yesterday!! If you have arrived here from Megan’s blog welcome! Isn’t she clever?! I have a card and a little terrarium for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is my card and that starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Lawn Fawn Mermaid Card Stock that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts. I used the same size Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Noble Fir and Solar White 80lb. On the Noble Fir I used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Lawn Cut and on the Solar White I used the Puffy Clouds Border Lawn Cuts. I also cut out a piece of Solar White with the Picket Fence Border Lawn Cut.. The fence and grass are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the clouds with E-Z Runner. I stamped some images from the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens Photopolymer Stamp Sets in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in with my Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and all are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner with the exception of the fairy who is adhered with Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped on the clouds with Onyx Black and some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Sparkling Clear Sequins are added to make it look like the fairy is sparkling some happiness on the greenery! I have to say that I’m really liking the Lawn Fawn Card Stock, nice bright and bold colors with a good weight to it and the fun spring scene is just fun!

OSAT March Blog Hop Card-WM

Next I have my little terrarium! I was inspired by the ones that I saw on the Lawn Fawn Blog a few weeks ago! All of the images are from the Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens Photopolymer Stamp Sets, again colored in with my Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I took a styrofoam ball and trimmed off a piece and then wrapped it in some Green Felt adhering it with a Hot Glue Gun. I always forget how hot the glue is until I’m reminded by it sticking to my finger and giving me a nice blister! The pain we endure for crafting! LOL! The “grass” is then adhered to the lid with more hot glue. I used Floral Wire adhered to the backs of the images to attach them to my “grass” and then screwed the lid closed. I think it’s a really cute piece of decor and will look neat on my kitchen table!

What an absolutely lovely day I had in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Barbara yesterday! The weather was gorgeous, sunny and warm. We had a steady flow of customers including a homeless man that came in to browse. He was a little unkempt but he browsed around and seemed to enjoy his little break in the store. After work I had a little issue, sometimes it’s not easy being me! I went to go and get the subway but I had no money on my MetroCard and when I went to add to it that didn’t work either! Oops! Thankfully it was a nice night for a 50 plus block walk! LOL! I can use the exercise, believe me! I met up with Kim at her apartment and we went to get a little dinner at Baker Street, they have delicious food there. After that it was back to the apartment for a little talk before calling it a night. I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Barbara again today! Fun!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

PCCCS185 DT Sketch 3-09-2016

Love the simplicity of the sketch! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. It’s then cut out with some  Simon Says Stamp Dies that the name escapes me of at the moment! I used the same dies to cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Before adhering them both to the card with Foam Tape I added a few loops of DMC Metallic Gold Thread. The large star is punched out from more Black 110lb with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents inch Pack. I added some Versa-Mark and then dipped it in Ultra Thick Embossing Powder three times. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Two of the star stamps from the Birthday Balloons Set are stamped in Onyx Black and then a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and some Basic Jewel Rhinestones are added for a little more sparkle and shine! I love the sentiment and the mix of the rhinestones and sequins is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wickedly cool Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 38 – Colors!

How was Monday? I had a nice one! I crafted in the morning for a bit with Andrea over FaceTime and then I ran over to see my friend Paul for a chat before heading over to Heather’s for some lunch. I had some really good pizza with hot peppers and a glass of wine. After that I came home and finished up some more crafty things before heading out to run a few errands with Heather. We ran to IKEA, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, BJ’s and Michaels! After she dropped me off I had a little dinner and then headed back over to Heather’s to watch a little TV before coming home and finishing up my evening. This morning I’m off to Manhattan for two days at The Ink Pad with Barbara! I’ll be staying with my friend Kim tonight! Love my Kimmie!

Before I get to today’s post a bunch of you have asked for the link to my friend Sue’s Etsy store so here it is!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP 38 Color Challenge 800

Some nice soft colors from Andrea! I started off with a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Blushing Bride that I stamped with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background with Blushing Bride Ink. Next up is a piece of Sahara Sand that I adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner at a slight angle. My lovely flowers are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush using my MISTI and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive. After cutting them out with the Coordinating Dies and arranging them on a piece of Solar White 80lb that I used the Clearly Besotted Notebook Edge Die along the left side of I used some Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. To the back I added some Foam Tape and E-Z Runner and then pressed them into place. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. After adhering the panel to the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Pink Peony and Sparkling Clear Sequins to give it some shine! See, that sequin organizer is really handy as my sequins are always ready to be added to a card! I do love those flowers, such nice detail and shading with only two stamps! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Color Challenge! Make sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG, they are amazing as always! We hope to see some of your creations in the gallery! Thank you very much for stopping by, have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂
