  • Feather Silhouette Tree Note Card

Hi there! I’m super late today! I had a busy but awesome weekend so far! Yesterday I was in Manhattan with Michael for most of the day at The Ink Pad. We both worked on some projects and even got to meet a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from Alexandria Virginia, Barbara Treese. She is up here on vacation and just happened to wander in to pick up some NY themed papers and embellishments to scrapbook her trip. It was very nice to get to chat with her. After we finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Brian & Kim’s for a BBQ. Always good to see my peeps! Here is a picture of Me, Barbara and Michael…

And here is the project that Michael worked on using some Hazel & Ruby Reusable Letter and Ken Oliver’s Color Bursts…

He is going to turn them into note cards and they will be on his blog later in the week!

Now for today’s card, it’s a simple one that was inspired by something that I saw on Pinterest. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the image from Lovely As a Tree in Ranger Archival Black Ink onto a piece of EK Success Wood Sheet. Next, I took a piece of Basic Black and die cut the Mama Elephant Fair Feather’s Creative Cuts twice from it. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Fair Feathers Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the die cut panel. Some foam tape on the back of the panel adheres it to the card. I like the way the trees peek through the feathers and the simplicity of the card. I hope that you like my card for today and that you all enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for coming by today! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 258

Happy 4th of July my friends! I had a very nice day yesterday, work was quiet and I even snuck out early! When I got home I worked on a few projects and ran some errands. Around 6:30 I stopped by to see Brian and Kim before heading over to Sue’s to have dinner with Michael. We had pizza and garlic knots. This morning we are off to Manhattan, Michael is working at The Ink Pad downtown and I’ll be there with him so if you are going to be in the city today come by and say hello, we’d love to see you!

For today’s post I have a fun card for you for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 258

I have a ton of Lawn Fawn sets from class, it’s time that I started giving them a little love! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. My background is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Ovals to cut out a piece of Night of Navy for the frame, Window Sheet and some Fun Foam. They are adhered to one another with SNAIL. I put some of the Clear Sequins in the shaker that Michael brought me from Brasil and then adhered the frame to the card. The cactus and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Suck on You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cactus in Cucumber Crush and the pot and greeting in Watermelon Wonder. The cactus and pot are cut out with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Stuck on You Lawn Cuts Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres all of the pieces to the card. I do really enjoy a shaker card and love the fun cactus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge and I hope that you all have a safe and happy 4th of July spent with your friends and family! Thanks for visiting! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 193

Yay it’s Friday! Boo, I have to work! Hopefully it will be a quick day! Yesterday was overcast but nice, lots of thing accomplished at work. Robin and I had Panera for lunch, I got my favorite the Chicken Cobb with Avocado Salad, YUM! After work I came home and made a few cards and then went out to the Saab to see if I could fix the iPod cable. Of course, I didn’t check to see which replacement I needed and I guessed wrong! Oh well, we’ll have to try that again! Nothing like taking apart the entire dashboard all for nothing! Happy thoughts! LOL!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 193

I went super clean! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black with two pieces of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Calypso Coral and cut it out with the Deco Labels Collections Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape and two Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the centers of the flowers for some sparkle! Nice and simple but I really love it, that DSP is definitely one of my favorites, love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by today! Enjoy your Friday my friends! 🙂

Another nice day here on Long Island! A little overcast and on the hot side, but there was a nice breeze too. I dropped the Saab off to get inspected in the morning and my friend Robin came with me at lunch to go and pick it up. We stopped at Monty’s for lunch and had some pizza, delicious as always. After dinner I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some stuff for Michael and choose the papers from this month’s cards. I came home and made my card for today and then went over to see Michael at Sue’s to drop off the papers that I picked up and have a little computer tutorial. Another good day! I’m on a roll lately! LOL! I wanted to mention that Michael and I will be at The Ink Pad in Manhattan on Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

    Paper Players #251

I saw the sketch and put the card together in my head! Yes, I used the map Washi again, are you sick of it yet?! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flicked some Heidi Swapp White Color Shine on a piece of Lost Lagoon and adhered it to the card for the background. I stamped the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set in So Saffron on some white and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. The circle is then adhered to some Fun Foam and Papertrey Ink Jute Twine is behind it. The banner and the car are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the banner in Real Red and the car in Memento Tuxedo Black and used some of Dies By Dave’s new dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My favorite Washi Tape is then adhered to some Neenah Solar White 80lb. The map is adhered to the circle with SNAIL and the road to that with more Foam Tape. I really do like that Guy Greetings Set don’t I and now with dies I like it even more! The washi tape, well we know that I love that! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thanks you for taking a little time out of your day to come by and visit with me! Have a great Thursday! 🙂

  • Woodgrain Vellum Embossed Butterfly Wish

Ahh… Wednesday, the halfway mark! My day yesterday was nice. I had a somewhat productive day at work, got some things done which like I always say is a good thing. After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Renee and Michael. We discussed some crafty things and I got my stamps for the next class. We headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and made sure that we embarrassed Renee with some birthday shenanigans, it’s her birthday on Sunday. An early happy birthday to her! The rest of the evening was spent crafting. Another great day! Yay!

I also got a very nice present from a wonderful person… so nice to get a just because, thoughtful gift! I’m a little obsessed with London, especially the Underground. This is a vintage map of the London Underground from circa 1950…

    Vintage London Underground Map MT

Today I have a nice simple card. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I inked up the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in Sahara Sand and stamped it directly onto the card base. The greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the card too. My butterfly is heat embossed with two of the three layers form the Watercolor Wings Photopolymer Stamp Set in “Vintage” Pool Party and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. The body is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits. I used a piece of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. A nice simple card that would make a fun birthday, thank you or thinking of you card to brighten someones day! I hope that you enjoyed my quick card for today! As always, thanks so much for spending some time with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 3 – Colors

After a fabulous weekend today was a pretty low key day. I had to drive out to Middle Island for work with my friend Marissa to go and help out with the implementation that I’m doing. We were out of the office from 11:30 to 3:30. It’s an hour each way. It definitely broke up the day and I enjoy spending time with Marissa, she’s a lot of fun! After work I came home and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley and Skyped with Andrea. I did go and meet Heather to watch her boyfriend play softball, just an excuse to take a ride in the convertible! Not a bad way to end the night! 🙂

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combination for you…

    SIP Color Challenge 3

This is definitely one of my favorite color combos! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Smoky Slate with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and then used the Impression Obsession Square Cutout Border Die down the right side. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red, with the middles in Smoky Slate, and cut out with the coordinating 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Dies. A piece of Bermuda Bay is cut out with another die from the Stitched Bundle of Shapes and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam. I adhered the flowers to the banner with SNAIL and Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on White and adhered to the banner with some more Foam Tape. Some more Bermuda Bay is cut out three times with the the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die, they are adhered to each other and the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the nice pop of the red against the Bermuda Bay and the subtle Smoky Slate background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge! • Mojo Monday 404

Happy Monday! I had a nice fantastic weekend! Saturday in Manhattan and then some quality time cleaning the car yesterday. I finished off the evening with a little Chinese food and a movie with Mr. Trent. We watched the end of The Devil Wears Prada and then Into the Blue. I also managed to get some crafty stuff done yesterday too and ran to Target. It was rainy and overcast most of the weekend but when you are having that much fun you don’t even notice! I hope that you all had a nice weekend too!

Monday, and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge from the one and only Julee Tilman…

    Mojo404

You know that I love a Tall & Skinny! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My base for the background is a piece of Smoky Slate. Two pieces of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6X6 Collection are up next. The anchor is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on White. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the circle. I love all of the nautical-ness (is that even a word?! LOL!) of the card, a perfect birthday card for any guy! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Now head on over to the blog and see what other inspiration awaits you from the rest of the team and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much of visiting today! • Lilac Silhouettes Thank You & Manhattan

Hi there! Despite the rainy day yesterday I had a great day! I headed into Astoria to pick up Michael, put the top down in the car and then off to Manhattan we went. There was quite a bit of traffic going across the 59th Street bridge but it doesn’t seem so bad in the car with the top down! We arrived at my friend Kim’s house around 9:15 and headed to the diner for a little breakfast. After that we went back to Kim’s apartment and dis-assembled the large IKEA bookcase. We sat and chatted for a while and Kim had said that she wanted to go and find a couch. Our first stop was Macy’s and a little Starbucks to help with concentration! From there we headed up to Pottery Barn and that’s where she found the couch. It’s a really nice comfortable one with a matching storage ottoman. After the furniture hunting was finished we went to Nick’s for a really late lunch/early dinner and had some delicious pizza. Then it was back to Kim’s for a little digestion and then Michael and I came back to my house and hung out with Taylor and watched some TV before I took him back over to Sue’s house. I can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday! Here is a little picture of the three of us from one of our cab rides!

Man do I love my peeps!! 😀

The card that I have for you today is actually one that I made a few week’s ago. I was inspired by a tag that my friend Holly had made. I was in my parent’s back yard and was looking at the Lilac bushes and remembered that I had seen a clever way to make some with one of the stamps from Summer Silhouettes. To start off the card I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Wisteria Wonder. The main panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, the Simon Says Stamp Medium Dot Line Die is used to punch out the circles down the right side. I then threaded some Gold Thread with a few purple Swarovski Crystals and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins through the holes and secured the thread behind the panel. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My images are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive. I adhered the stamped panel to some Elegant Eggplant. For the greeting I used the “Vintage” Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. It’s secured to the back of the panel and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I love the sequins and crystals on the gold thread and the simple look of the flowers! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspires you to use a stamp set in a different way! Thank you for coming by and sharing in some of my adventures too! Have a simply lovely Sunday! 🙂

Yes! I got my “new to me” car yesterday and I love it! Three hours was spent at the DMV, but that’s the price you pay! I left work at 12:00 and headed over to the car place to get the paperwork and then off to DMV. My parents were there with me for a while and then Heather came up with some Starbucks and the line really moved once she got there! We went back to my house to drop off my old car and then headed up to the dealer to pick up the new one. We stopped back at my house and dropped off Heather’s car and went for a nice ride! It handles completely differently from the Chrysler, it’s nice and sporty. Later on Heather and I went to Monty’s for some pizza and then we met some peeps from my work at a bar to say good bye to Thomas and Keri who are leaving. When I got home Taylor called and asked if she could borrow my old car because her alternator went in hers, talk about perfect timing! So yes, I had a very nice Friday! Here is a picture of the new wheels!

Yeah I think I’m pretty flash in it! LOL!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

    PPA 257

I took some liberties with the sketch this time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Calypso Coral. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on both the right corners of the card base and the background. The background is a piece of Mint Macaroon with a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack down the left side. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die to cut it out. Behind it a piece of Pacific Point with both ends flagged and under that is some Silver Thread. The flagged strip and the greeting are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ll say it again, that Pretty Petals DSP Stack has some great colors and neat patterns in it don’t you think and I love that Ombre Ink! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I always appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 67

A super happy Friday to you! Hopefully it will be a super happy Friday for me too! Fingers crossed that the car is ready today! 😀 I had a great day yesterday! I got some stuff accomplished at the office which sometimes can be a feat in itself! After work I put the top down in the car and stopped by the house quick before heading over to pick up Michael. We went to Scrap-A-Latte so that Renee and Michael could discuss his upcoming classes. Michael are even going to try and do a joint class together! From there we stopped at Friday’s for some eats. Love those warm pretzels with the craft beer cheese! After dinner I drove him out to Astoria where he is staying at a friends apartment in his old building. He is working at the Ink Pad in Manhattan and it’s a nice quick commute! A pretty great day! 🙂

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

    Fab Fri 67 6-26-2015

All of the fun new In-Colors! I have to admit that I thought about this one for a while! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The entire front is covered in a Mint Macaroon striped piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Star Framelits to cut out pieces of Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder in graduating sizes and adhered them from smallest on the bottom with some SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Tip Top Taupe with the left side flagged. It’s also adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects for, well, a little sparkle! I really do like that Pretty Petals DSP Stack, the colors in it are fun and the patterns are nice and varied! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Take a minute to visit the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery! Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me!
