Paper Players 315

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I mentioned that they are doing construction right?! Well yesterday it was our turn to have the facade of the building taken down. So much noise and mess! Renee was smart and took the day off! I did have one person come in the morning to make the house. Around 3:30 I lost internet because they cut the cable wire! I called the rest of the people that were scheduled to take the class and said we would have to reschedule and I closed up around 4:00. Don’t ask what the cable is just cut it! So annoying! I stopped home and then went over to Heather’s so we could run some errands and have dinner. Kim and Stephanie came by for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always. Today I need to get a ton of projects finished and hopefully we will have internet!

Today I have my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

paper-players-315

My friend Andrea very cleverly said to me, well you were going to share the house on your blog so why not use it for the challenge?! She is so smart sometimes! Here is the 3D Haunted House that I made for the class! I used the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling and the Village Manor Add-On Dies. All of the main parts of the house are cut from Black 110lb Card Stock and the fence, chimneys, door and windows from Battleship Gray. I used Vellum in the windows and the roofs are cut from American Crafts Black Glitter Card Stock. The windows, doors and chimneys have a little Black Soot Distress Ink added. I used Scor-Tape and Multi-Matte Medium to glue everything together. For a little extra spook I added a sparkly bat and ghost. There is a flickering tea light inside too! I do love the way the house came out! It’s simple but fun! I hope that you like my project for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 255

Wow! It’s Friday! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I worked on some projects and Renee rearranged things! She does that every once in a while. My Parent’s stopped in for a visit which is always fun! After work I stopped home and chanegd into jeans before heading over to Heather’s. She had some pizza and a glass of wine waiting for me, she’s the best! Stephanie came by and we left to go to the Softball game. We had a nice time even if they did loose. We laughed and I chased Stephanie around the field! Here is a picture of the three of us on the bleachers…

We look like we are having fun don’t we?! Today I have to get a little more organized at the store, I have started to create piles on my desk and that is never a good thing!

I have a bunch of new Hero Arts goodies from the last release that are just begging to be played with so I used one of them for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-255

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the script from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Cut Combo Set in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. It’s adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My cardinal, poinsettia and pine cones, all from the same set, are all double stamped onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper in Hero Arts Intense Black using my Mini MISTI. The pine branch and holly are stamped in Hero Arts Pine Hybrid. I used Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany, Mowed Lawn and Gathered Twigs Distress and a Waterbrush to color them in. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Black 3D Foam Squares and Dot Runner Adhesive. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Brass onto a piece of Chinese Red and adhered with more Black 3D Foam Squares. Yup, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold, Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Mix and Christmas Mix Sequins to the card to give it a little bling! I love that Vintage Post Set, so many nice images, great for collage cards! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a fun Friday! 🙂

Crop days at the store are always fun! I got to do another MISTI Demo, this time with my friend Evelyn! We stamped out the Vintage Roses from Altenew in the lovely Cool Summer Nights Crisp Ink! I can’t wait to see the layout that she adds them to! I worked on my card and showed my friend Linda the finished product. She will be a little surprised to see that I changed it! After work I stopped home and saw Taylor, Daniel and Tristan for a little bit before I headed out to my party! When I walked in the house Daniel ran over to me and gave me a big hug and a kiss! There is no better greeting in the world! My brother and his wife had date night! Aww… so cute! The party that I went to last night was my friend Adam’s 40th. All of my peeps were there so we had a very nice time! Today is the second day of the crop! More shenanigans at the store! 😀

Like I had mentioned, I worked on my card while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Kelly’s Background Stars in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. To color it I used Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Twisted Citron Distress Ink squished onto an acrylic block, watered down and applied to the background with a brush. To speed up the drying time I used my Heat Tool and then trimmed a little of of each side before adhering it to the card. Some Gold Mirror Card is cut out with the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Dies and that’s adhered with E-Z Runner. Under that is another strip of Black 110lb with a piece of Washi Tape over it. The fun buildings are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s It’s Christmastime Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the image in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic and then used my Scissors to cut it out. I adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. For the greeting I die cut two piece of Black 110lb with the congrats die from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set. One of them is then heat embossed with more Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered to the other die cut, slightly offset, with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhered it to the card. Yes, here come the sequins! LOL! A nice scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold, Gold and Onyx Sequins complete the card. I love that fun bold background stamp and the cool little images in that mini set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks very much for visiting! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 209

Hello… it’s me! LOL! Love that song and Adele for that matter! How are you today?! We have made it to the mid-way point, yay! I had a nice busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, so busy that when I looked at the clock it was 4:30! Where did that day go?! I did get a lot accomplished and that is always a good thing! Renee had her Home Decor class and they made the apple today, it came out really cute! I snuck out a little early again and after dinner I made my card for today and then ran to Target. You can never go in that store and just get what you went for! Do you have that issue too?!

So Wednesday and we are over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS209 DT Sketch 8-30-2016

I choose the first column down! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To make my  background I created a mask with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply Antique Linen and Gathered Twigs for the sand and Tumbled Glass and Broken China for the water. I left the mask over the water and flicked some Heidi Swapp Gold and Bronzer Color Shine onto the beach and used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying. The panel is then adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner. Across the top is a piece of Vellum and I cut the bottom with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders but reversed from the mask that I made. My greeting is the die cut you from the Hero Arts Thank You Pair Fancy Die, cut once from Ice Gold Curious Metallic and twice from Solar White 110lb. The rest of the greeting is from the My Monthly Hero Kit from May and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I adhered the three you die cuts together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the Vellum. Some Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape is hidden behind the you and the Vellum panel is adhered to the card. The shells are cut from Ice Gold and White Gold Curious Metallic and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Rose Gold and Pewter Sequins along with a few Wood Veneer Stars on the sand and the card is done! I love that Color Shine and Sequins on the sand, I look at the card and I’m at the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! They are always appreciated! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Ooh-La-La Sending Feather Love & August Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Class Cards!

Well, I had a very enjoyable day off! I made sure that I got a little cleaning done. I was going to wash my car but I’m glad that I didn’t, it rained for about an hour in the afternoon. I also made sure that I got a lot of nothing time in too. I think that we all need to just be for a little while every once in a while. I sat outside for a bit in the morning with Daniel, we watched some truck videos on the iPad. I also watched a little TV and ran a few errands last night. Like I said a very nice day! Today I’ll be at The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store getting back in the swing! LOL! Renee is off and will be spending time with her grandkids! Family time is very important, wouldn’t you agree?!

So I was all set to just share the cards from this month’s Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store but around 10:00PM I had the urge to make a card, it just popped into my head! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Picked Raspberry and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to create my background on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I made sure that it was dry with my Heat Tool and spattered it with some Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink Spray and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and dried it again with the Heat Tool. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My feather is cut from a piece of Vellum with the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies. I used my Versa-Marker to add the vane and sprinkled on some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set that. The Eiffel Tower is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Spellbinders Ooh-La-La Die D-Lites. I adhered the bottom of the feather with Multi-Matte Medium and the Eiffel Tower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Gold Embossing Powder onto more Vellum. I flagged the right side and tucked it under the Tower. I love the simplicity of the card and the cool background! I’ll add the cards from Class at the end of the post! I hope that you enjoy all of the cards for today! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have a spectacular Sunday! 🙂

OSAT August Blog Hop – Summer

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a nice relaxing morning yesterday. I got up and had my coffee and puttered around on the internet before I took my shower. I even got to sit outside for a bit before it started to rain. After that I FaceTimed with Andrea for a little, stopped by my parents and then headed over to get my man bun chopped off. I can say that I did it and I’m glad to have my short hair back! Around 1:20 I started to make my way to La Guardia. It rained on the way there which in 94 degrees with no AC in the car wasn’t fun at all! Ken’s flight was a little late but I got him and nearly cooked him in the car on the way back to the store. It took us a little over two hours to get there. His class was awesome and all of the students made some really great projects! I also got to speak to one of my blog peeps on the phone for a little bit! So nice to actually get to speak in person! When the class was over I took Ken to get some food and then dropped him off at his hotel. I’m going to get him early so we can stop and have breakfast on the way to the store. He has another class today and then I’ll drop him off at the Ferry over to Connecticut later on tonight. It’s fun to get spend time with him, he’s a really nice guy!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my friend Martie’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Summer theme! As soon as I saw the August My Monthly Hero Kit I knew that I would have to use it for this hop! I have two cards that I made with it and the add ons share with you!

My first card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Soft Pink Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb, dried it with my Heat Tool and the heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I then adhered that to the card base. Next up I used the Die from the August My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and the Add-On Die to cut out a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic. The Early Espresso piece is adhered to the background with Dot Runner and the Gold piece is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. The fairy is from the Kit too and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Die to cut her out and adhered her with more 3D Foam Squares to the card. To tone down the Gold a little I used the Outer Frame from the Kit on a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered that with more Dot Runner on top of the gold. For a little more magic I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Gold and Pansy Purple Sequins and brushed the fairy with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that kit! So fun and whimsical and the dies are just awesome!

OSAT August Blog Hop Card 1-WM

For the second card I also used a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I heat embossed the clouds, stars and greeting from the Add-On Stamp Set Dreams Are Made in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I blended them together and then used a dry paper towel to buff the excess ink off of the heat embossed parts. The fairy is again from the Main Kit and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. She is cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also heat embossed the wand in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and cut that out with my Scissors. The background is adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the fairy and wand with 3D Foam Squares. For a little added sparkle I stamped the stardust in Encore Silver Metallic Ink. Love the emboss-resist background and the watercolored fairy, she looks so happy floating up there in the night sky!

Cards from Class – Watercolor 101

What a fun day yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Renee had her crop and I got to see all of my ladies! I was helping my friend Peggy stamp some Altenew flowers with the MISTI and she told everyone to come over and watch! They were all amazed! Lots of MISTI’s and Altenew Stamps sold yesterday! Showing people easy ways to get awesome results and be creative, that’s definitely my favorite part of the store! I left to go home at 5:00 and had Chinese with my Parents. After that I came home and vegged on the couch for a bit and then ran a few errands. What a nice Saturday!

Today I have the cards that we made for the Watercolor 101 Class at the Store! The first one uses Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I heat embossed the Hero Arts Antique Rose Stem Wood Mount Stamp and the greeting from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. Both cards use Gansai Tambi Watercolors. For this card we just straight up added color to the image using a water brush. Simple and a good way to get use to the way to pick up color with the brush. The second card uses images from the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set and Arches 140lb Cold Pressed Paper. I heat embossed just the outlines along with the greeting from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Copper Embossing Powder again. This time we did a wet on wet technique. They added water to the petals and then added color to the base of the petal, allowing the color to leech out into the rest of the wet area. Once they did all of the petals they came back in with a wet brush and pulled the color out from the base and then did the same for the leaf. They all love the second technique, it does give a much more realistic look than the first one. They also saw the difference between the Arches and Tim Holtz Paper. The Arches Paper is a thicker much higher quality paper and makes coloring much easier. I had a lot of fun teaching the class and all of the students said they felt a lot more comfortable watercoloring! I hope that you enjoyed seeing the cards that we made in class! Hopefully one day I will see you in one of my classes! Thank you so much for your time today! Have a super simple Sunday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 59 – Funny or Punny!

Another fun and busy Monday done! I hope that you all had a nice start to your week! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy but I did manage to get my newsletter finished and sent out! I also got the rest of my orders put in! Pretty productive day, love them! On the way home from the store I chatted with Sue, we caught each other up on our goings on! I had dinner with my Parent’s and then came home and worked on my card for today. At the store today I have to start to get ready for Thursday’s Watercolor 101 Class! The projects are in my head, just have to get them out!

The card that I created for today’s post is for this week’s Stamp , Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 59

I had a little bit of a hard time, I don’t have very many funny stamp sets! I finally settled on a greeting and went from there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with some Cornflower and Soft Lilac added to the top and a little Cup O Joe added to the bottom with my Mini Ink Blending Tool. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The ice cream is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the Mini MISTI to stamp the ice cream in Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar and the cone in Soft Brown and Cup O Joe. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Cup O Joe onto one of two clouds that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Simple Puffy Clouds Lawn Cuts. The clouds, ice cream and cone are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner. Yes, it’s sort of a mean card but we have all dropped something or seen someone drop something and thought it was a little funny and I’m sure that phrase ran through your head! LOL! I hope that you liked and giggled at my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and have a laugh at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and let’s see what you come up with! Enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 459

The last of the headache from Saturday finally went away Sunday morning. That was a long one! It was a rainy overcast day here yesterday, still humid though. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was great as always! Renee had the Scrap Happy Sisters there to teach a class and my friend Sandy stopped by! Love my Sandy! I don’t get to see her as much as I would like to! She picked up some new crafty goodness, can’t wait to see what she makes with it! After work I stopped by my Parent’s and my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristan showed up. They were on their way back from PA. I visited with them for a bit before heading over to Brian and Kim’s for her brother Kevin’s Birthday. He got lots of stuff and was a very happy boy! Adam and Erin were there and Heather came by later on. Love my peeps! When I got home I put the finishing touches on my card for today and watched a little TV before calling it a night. Today, lots to do as always, but all good stuff!

How do we love to start a Monday… why with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo459

I went with a little bit of a different color combo for today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of My Colors Classic Cherry. The background is a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Text and Ledgers Paper Pad. I cut it to 4″ wide and then cut an 1/8th of an inch out of the middles and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner. I heat embossed the images from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape that is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in gold onto another piece of Classic Cherry. I flagged the right and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the Botanical Garden Stamps, espceaily watercolored and heat embossed! I also like the unusual mix of the deep red with the fun paper and bright yellow flower! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the other Design Team members takes on the sketch and add yours to the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off here with me! Have a super spectacular Monday! 🙂

Hipster Wedding Congrats

So, I had a very nice day in Manhattan yesterday! I went and saw my friend Jim in the morning and got to meet his grandson Oliver. They are heading out to Montana to do some fishing today! That should be fun. From there I headed down to The Ink Pad where I got to see Brianna. We had a nice long chat and I browsed around the store. Such a fun place to be! After The Ink Pad I went and wandered around the city for a bit. I ended up having a really late lunch/early dinner of pizza at Zesty’s up on 94th and 3rd before heading back to the garage to get my car and make my way home. It only took me 35 minutes to get in in the morning but over 2 hours to get home! Oh, traffic! I acquired a really bad headache in the car and took a two hour nap when I did finally get home. Still had the headache after that so I went and made my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today Renee has the Scrap Happy Sisters at the store for a class and I want to get my last card for next month’s card class finished and my newsletter started!

Sometime cards just randomly pop into my head and that’s how today’s one came about. I stared off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Card that I adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The circle is a piece of Black 110lb that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. That too is adhered with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Orchids are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Large Orchid Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Vanilla and Soft Lilac using my Mini MISTI. They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the circle with E-Z Runner. The rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Mason jar mugs in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto Vellum, the diamond in Gold, also on Vellum, and stamped the camera and mustache in Hero Arts Intense Black. All are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts except for the diamond which I cut out with my Scissors. The mustache and diamond are adhered to the mugs with Dot Runner and then to the card with Foam Tape and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Congrats Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I cut it from Gold Mirror Card and adhered it to a piece of Vellum with Multi-Matte Medium and then to the card with the same. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Sparkling Clear and Charcoal Sequins finish off the card with a little extra shine! I love the mix of floral and masculine elements on the card! I think that it makes for fun and unexpected Wedding card! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for sharing in my day! Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂
