Paper Craft Crew 187

What a day yesterday was. I have been trying to sell an iPhone 5S on eBay. The first time to sold over two weeks ago the guy never paid for it and then it turned out to be a fraudulent account. That took way too long to resolve! I re-listed it and someone hit the Buy it Now button and they didn’t pay either. I emailed them 6 times and finally they sent an email back saying that they changed their mind. Umm… that’s not how eBay works! So I give up! I had Subway with Heather for lunch, she made me laugh, always does! I did manage to get in some crafty time and Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a bit. Andrew came over around 5:45 and we headed up to the mall. Some Chipotle for dinner and then off to see Allegiant which was very good by the way! So after a somewhat annoying morning I did manage to end the day on a nice note!

The craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

Yup, I have been plying with my Lawn Fawn a lot again, I really do just love the images and sentiments! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 4 1/4″ wide. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Pacific Point and Solar White 80lb. I then used the Lawn Fawn Forest Border Lawn Cuts to cut out my trees on the White. The green is Mowed Lawn Distress Ink applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I added a little bit of Pine Needles Distress Ink to the trees and then adhered the green to the blue and then adhered the whole panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals are used to cut out a piece of Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip. The Chocolate Chip is cut again across the middle using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and adhered to the Tempting Turquoise. All of the images and greetings are from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Yeti in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copics flicking in some of the darker gray to give the appearance of fur. The trees are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and the footprints in Simon Says Stamp Khaki. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I then heat embossed the greeting onto the Chocolate Chip and another piece with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The unbelievable is cutout with the Lawn Fawn Just for You Labels Lawn Cuts. My trees are adhered with E-Z Runner and the Yeti, footprints and unbelievable are adhered with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins make for some nice stars in the dusky sky! I really do love that Lovable Legends Set, isn’t the Yeti just too cute?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! SIP Challenge 36 – Card Maker’s Choice!

What a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte! I FaceTimed with Andrea and I got to meet some new people that came in to buy stuff, sold a lot of Lawn Fawn yesterday and I got my sets to start making the cards for next month’s class! Speaking of next month’s class, I’m pondering an idea of how I can bring the class to you! I’ll let you know when I have more info! I also started working on my card for today while I was there. After I locked up the store I stopped by Aldi, it’s a new supermarket that we have here, they also have them in England! I got some K-Cups for $4.29 for 12 and Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer for $2.19! Not too bad! When I got back home I watched a little TV and then sat down to finish putting my card together for today!

The card that I worked on yesterday is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

I used one of the new Lawn Fawn sets to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. On the one I used Stormy Sky and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The other one I used to cut out the waves with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. On the waves I used Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I then took the background and the waves and spritzed them with some water, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it off with a paper towel. Before adhering the waves and clouds to the card with Foam Tape I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Loch Ness Monster is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres him to the card. You know that sequins make everything better so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones on the waves! I love the Loch Ness and I think he’s too cute to call a monster in this case! Paper Craft Crew 181

It turned out to be a really nice day here yesterday! The sun was shining and I went over to Sue’s to do some more Etsy stuff. We had Panera for lunch and got loads of stuff done! I love a nice productive day! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was in a bad mood so I came home and Taylor and Keira stopped by. They took Winston to Michaels, he got lots of attention! Here he is sitting in the cart…

They even put a blanket in there. They also decided that they would take him for the night to Keira’s house, Taylor got him a new baby so I couldn’t say no. I have to admit, I miss him being the door monitor! I did stop back over at the ‘rents for some chili and Daniel was in a much better mood, I even got a big hug and a kiss along with an I love you so much Uncle Justin, doesn’t get better than that! The rest of the evening I had quality time with Chip and Joanna on Fixer Upper.

Wednesday and it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

I needed a card that had nothing to do with Valentine’s day! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used some Heidi Swapp Citron Color Shine to splatter on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Black 110lb with a piece of Washi Tape across the bottom and on top of that is a piece of Craft Smith Holiday Glitter Paper. My panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card, I heat embossed the phrase from the Simon Says Stamp One with Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. It’s stamped repeatedly and offset a bit. Then it was time for some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink that I applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The leaves and tree are from the same set and are also heat embossed on Watercolor Card in Clear. I used Twisted Citron Distress Ink to watercolor the images and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Some SNAIL adheres all of the greenery to the card. My greeting is cut from Black 110lb three times with the Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Wafer Die and adhered together with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. To give it a little sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Green from the Christmas Mix Sequins to the panel. I always love a little spatter and the Distress Ink is so great to work with, you can do so much with it! Kind Cage

Hi there! I hope that you are all having a nice weekend! I had a good Saturday! I headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad with Barbara for the day. My friend Kim came down and met me for lunch, we ate fresh! I also got a few new goodies from a recent order that they got in! I’ll share some of those with you this week! When I got home I had a sandwich for dinner and then just chilled for the rest of the evening. This morning I’m having breakfast with Heather and then we will run a few errands. I think it will be a lazy Sunday!

My project that I have for you today is not a card. When I was at Scrap-A-Latte the other day I played with some of the copious amount of Mixed Media supplies that they have. I actually finished the project on Friday and even had the frame for it! The base of the project is Chipboard that I coated with Ranger Studio Gesso. While that dried I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Mixed Media Thinlits to cut out some 80lb Neenah Card Stock to use as a stencil. Some Ranger Opaque Texture Paste is applied with a palette knife over the stencil that I created in the upper right and lower left corners. Once that dried I mixed up Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paint with water and applied it over most of the surface of the project. When that was dry I coated it with Multi-Matte Medium to seal it. Some more Multi-Matte Medium is used to adhere a card from the Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera Pack and then more over the top of it. The cage is cut out using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Bigz Die from more chipboard and coated with Gesso and then Multi-Matte Medium so I could apply some Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. I cut out a piece of Black 110lb with a tags punch and adhered a stamp from the same Ephemera Pack to it with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece May Arts Twine is tied through the top and adhered to the back of the piece. I adhered the cage with Foam Tape along with the Kind that is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Down in the lower left are some Prima Flowers and Leaves. I inserted it into a black frame and than completed the project. I had a lot of fun creating the piece and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try something different too! Paper Players 280

Yesterday was a long day! The airport in the morning, Scrap-A-Latte for a bit, over to see my friend Sue and then take Heather to the train. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little tired! It also rained here most of the day but it was warm so no complaints. Today I need to get some organizing done and then tonight is thirsty Thursday!

For my card today I have used this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe board for inspiration…

I want to thank Hannelle for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card to 3 1/4″ wide and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey and Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to create the somewhat evening sky looking background. It’s spritzed with some water and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. My bird and branch are form the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set. The outline is stamped in Onyx Black Ink and I used Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini, Schoolhouse Red, Duckling, Slate and Khaki Ink to fill in the colors. For the eye I used a Sakura Black Gel Pen and Uni White Gel Pen. He is cut out with the coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium And Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Set and is also stamped in Onyx Black. A little shower of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins from the top right completes the card. So, I went down the middle row! I love that bird and the easy way that you can add different colors to him! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Concord & 9th at The Ink Pad

What a night I had! Yesterday I dropped the Chrysler off at the store for Renee and Brian picked me up and dropped me off at Heather’s. I went with her to get her haircut and see if I could get mine cut too. I got an appointment at 2:30, in the mean time I ran and got us lunch. Heather dropped me off at my house and I went and ate lunch at my parent’s so I could see Daniel for a bit. After that I cut for class and then went and got my haircut, completely new and funky, I needed a change! Back home to get my stuff together and head for the train. When I got to The Ink Pad Anna told me that channel 4 news was at the store and that she would be on the 5:00 news! She’s a little celebrity now! I helped Anna out with some stuff at the store and then got ready for class. We had a great time as always and Jamey even brought a friend that was a first timer! When I went to lock up the store the gate wouldn’t come down. I tried all sorts of things and couldn’t get it to work. I called Anna and her brother-in-law came by and had to pull it down. In the mean time Renee called to tell me that the car overheated and all of the antifreeze leaked out when she got home. By the time I got to Penn to get the train it was 10:45. So I’m here at the Scrap-A-Latte this morning and will have to go wth dad later to see what’s up with the car. Sigh… how’s that for a Friday! 🙁

SIP Challenge 32 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

There is still snow everywhere around here! The LIRR Had major issues this morning and I’m thankful that I wasn’t one of the commuters that had to wait upwards of three hours for a train! I re-dug my car out with the help of dad and his snowblower, let’s hope that it stays like that! The rest of my day was spent looking for the title to my old car, which I never found but I did go onto the DMV site and ordered a new one. I choose express delivery and it should be here Wednesday morning! I’ll believe that when I see it! LOL! I also watched the second of the X-Files last night, just as good as the first one! After that there was a new show called Lucifer on and I liked that one too! Today I’m going venture out of the house and get in the car, the first time since Friday, so unlike me! I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow!

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Love Tic-Tac-Toe from Sandy…

I went down the middle but hit a few others along the way! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I spattered a piece of Black 110lb with some Heidi Swapp Gold and White Color Shine and then adhered it to the card base. My heart is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Some Ranger Candied Apple Distress Ink is applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool and then I flicked some water onto the heart. After waiting about 20 seconds I used a dry paper towel to pick it up. The arrow is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that I cut out with the Reverse Confetti Arrow Confetti Cuts Die, I snipped it in two and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The heart is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL along with a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. I love the look that the water gives to the heart and the nice way that red pops against the black! Freshly Made Sketches 220

Yay for Friday! The end of another busy week! I had a great time with my friend Sue yesterday! We had some bagels for lunch and then stopped in Marshall’s before heading back to her house to finish up some Etsy stuff! From there I headed over to Heather’s so I could take apart the old bed, which took no time at all! We ran to BJ’s to get some goodies for Thirsty Thursday and then went back to Heather’s to get ready for Kim and Stephanie to come over. We laughed and watched Lip Sync Battle, really enjoy that show! This morning it’s off to IKEA with Heather and Brian to pick up the new bed, back to Heather’s to drop it off and then into Manhattan to drop off the table and chairs to Kim’s. We are going to stop and get some lunch before heading back home. I’ll put the bed together and then come home and hopefully get crafty!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base is cut to 3 3/4″ wide so I could let some stuff hang off the edge and still fit it into a standard envelope! It’s the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts Stencil along with some Candied Apple Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the nice subtle background. Up in the left corner is a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Craft Die. I also cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and used some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them to each other to make the heart a bit sturdier. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Wafer Die. I used some Versa-Mark and Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to give it the Licorice look and adhered them both to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink next to the heart. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Valentine Mix and Onyx Sequins are added for a little extra sparkle! I still love that Scribble Heart Die and it goes so well with the Arrow! Sketchy Heart Feathers

Wow! It’s the last day of 2015 so Happy New Year’s Eve! As I look back on this past year I have to say that it was a pretty good one. It started off in January with my trip to Florida for the Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference but the best part of that was hanging with Maggie and staying with Germaine and her husband! I had an awesome Summer with Michael, Maggie and lots of Manhattan topped off by a wonderful trip to London with Brian! My only regret is that if I had known that I would be out of work shortly after returning from London I would have stayed longer! 2015 was a good year and 2016 will be even better! I did wake up with a headache this morning, that might have had something to do with Thirsty Thursday being moved to last night! I had to take Brian home, he had way too much Whiskey and when I got home I was just ready for bed. After the Excedrin kicked in I made my card for today. Now that Christmas is done we can start focusing on the next Holiday… Valentine’s Day!

My card today starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Kraft Card Stock with the Tim Holtz Ledger Script Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and adhered it down the left side of the card. The tag is cut from another piece of Ivory 110lb with the Clearly Besotted Rounded Tag Die. My heart is cut from some Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Die and the feathers from a piece of DIY Shop 6×6 Paper using the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. I adhered them to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Die, trimmed and adhered with Foam Tape. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through the top and then used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere the tag to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sweetheart Mix and Charcoal Sequins complete the card! The layout is one of my favorites and I still am loving that Sketch Heart and the Feathers! Winter Wonderland Ornaments & The Ink Pad Tags Class!

Sunday… the day of… rest?! Nah! I had a restful Saturday instead. I got my laundry done and did some crafty things, snuck in some TV. I love when I watch a movie and it makes you think, and not what you would expect to think about either. Anyway, today I’m off to Manhattan to hang out with Barbara at The Ink Pad. It’s going to be another chilly day, only in the 40’s! Where did those 60’s go?! They say they will back in a few days and I’m looking forward to their return! What’s on for you today?

My project that I have to share with you today is another ornament, this time a shaker! I cut some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Basic Backer Die. The background is a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock cut with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Skyscapes Dies. I adhered it to the backer with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. I cut it in a little less than half and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. My skyline is cut out of some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I added some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter and then adhered the ornament half to the backer with more Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s twine tied through the top give me something to hang it on my tree with! I really do love making these ornaments and the Scene It Dies make is super easy! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament, they are fun to make and I hope that you will try one!
