Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Watercolor!

Ahh… Friday! I haven’t see you guys since Wednesday and it seems like forever!  My time at The Ink Pad was fun as always, I miss being at the store and if it wasn’t so expensive I would definitely go in more often! Wednesday night Jim came by for dinner and we watched the Mummy with Tom Cruise. I watched Daniel & Tristan yesterday, Tristan was a little bit of a beast but we all have our off days right?! Last night I assembled a power wheels motorcycle for a friend’s son’s birthday and finished off my evening by watching a few episodes of Altered Carbon. Not sure how I feel about it yet! This morning I have a bunch of flyers to do for Jim and some more odds and ends to get finished. 😀

It’s one of my favorite times of the month! Time for a new challenge over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th blog…

I haven’t watercolored in ages! I decided to something simple and I forgot how much I like the results! Onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card I applied some clean water and then used the red from the Gansai Tambi Set. I need to remember to get a hard board to tape the watercolor card to, from what I have seen it really helps keep it nice and flat while you work on it! My impatience led me to use my Heat Tool to speed up the drying and then I ran the paper through my Big Shot to flatten it. It’s adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. For the greeting I used the L O V E from the Concord & 9th Love You So Die Set and cut it out twice, once from Black 110lb and then from Tropical Sea. They are adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium, I added the black and then offset the teal. The card needed a little sparkle so I pulled out my Little Things by Lucy Shimmering Pool Mix Jewels and added a few randomly around the greeting! A very simple way to add watercolor to your card! I love the dark edges and variation in color!

Paper Craft Crew 272

It has become seriously cold here! I woke up to 20 degrees this morning and lots of wind! Poor Cali was not happy on her walk this morning and neither was I! LOL! Yesterday I ran some errands then met up with Heather and Steph after dinner so that they could go and vote for Fire Commissioner. Heather and I stopped by to see Brian and Kim’s house, they are expanding it out to the side and up. It was pretty neat to see the construction, the shell went up really fast! When I got back home Taylor was here snuggling with Cali. Her and I ran a few more errands and then I called it a night. Not sure what I’m up to this morning but I know there will be some laundry in there somewhere! 😀

I did a little FaceTime crafting with Andrea yesterday and made my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I started my card by reaching for the Hero Arts December My Monthly Hero Kit. The vase is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card, colored in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and cut out with the Coordinating Die. I used the lattice window die to cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card. For my background I spattered some Heidi Swapp Gold and Teal Color Shine onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The two strips of patterned paper are from the DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper Pad. I heat embossed my greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on the teal strip and flagged both ends of the butterfly strip before adhering them to the card. Some Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive hold the lattice window in place and a little 3M Foam Tape secures the vase. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sea Breeze and Gold Sequins and the card is done! I love the December My Monthly Hero Kit, so many fun things to use in it! SIP Challenge 117 – Watercolor!

A cloudy day but not too bad. We are to get some of the latest tropical storm later today and tomorrow. I got a lot done in the morning yesterday and even more in the afternoon! Heather and Taylor both stopped by and I decided that it was high time that I fixed the broken faucet in the kitchen so we went to the new Home Depot and picked one up. I have to say that changing a faucet is definitely not one of my favorite things to do, no room to work under the sink but I got it done in about 45 minutes! Last night Heather came back and we ran to Bead, Bath & Beyond. Today I have to find some things to do in the house again! 😀

I have the pleasure of sharing my Design Team card with you today for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I was definitely inspired by the graphic for this one! To begin I smooshed some Mermaid Lagoon onto a piece of Acetate and spritzed it with some water before adding it to a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. I repeated the same process with Wilted Violet and again with Mermaid Lagoon. Because I’m impatient I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying! The flower and leaves are cut from Gold Mirror Card using The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Standalone Dies and are adhered to the panel with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I added the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black. It’s from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered it and some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Sea Breeze, Gold and Ocean Spray Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium and the card is done. Pearlescent Pineapple – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th!

Hello again! I’m back with post number two for today! It’s time for my Solo Post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog. Be sure and stop by there too!

The card that I created uses the Concord & 9th Pineapple Perfection Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. To color in the image I used my FineTec Pearl Watercolors and an Aquawash Brush. After it dried I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out along with the greeting that is heat embossed onto a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The pineapple and greeting are adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with another piece of White Gold Metallic that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers 3D Woven Embossing Folder. I do love the Pearl Watercolors, so nice and subtle. The pictures doesn’t do them justice, they look so much better in real life!

Simple Watercolor Hello

Yesterday was another one of those I imagined I would get more done that I actually did days. I have been having way too many of those lately, that needs to change! I did run a few errands with Heather in the afternoon. She made George and I a late lunch and after that I came back home and worked on my card for today. I will definitely be more productive today! If I say it it will happen! LOL! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today. I started out by using my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to add three stripes of color to a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I did set it aside to dry and watched a little TV but it was getting ready to rain here so it was a little on the damp side and I grew impatient! The drying time was sped up with my Heat Tool! The flower, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Floral Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black. I did mask the flower to get the leaves a little closer to it. All that was left to do was to use Tombo Extreme Adhesive to adhered it to a card base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Paper Craft Crew 243

Hi! What’s going on by you?! I had a very productive day yesterday. I got a bunch of emails sent out and puts some plans in motion. Sometimes it’s hard to put things in perspective, but eventually you are left with no choice. The rest of the day was fun, Jim came by and we went out a got a late lunch and managed to finish the crafty project that we have been working on! Feels good to have it done. Now we’ll start working on some new ones! Today I have to run over to the Store again and then I have a bunch of projects to get started! 😀

It’s Wednesday so time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I wanted a nice simple card and I haven’t used feathers in a very long time! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card with the ends flagged to it and then got to work on my center panel. The images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Dream Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them and two extras onto a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Card with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. They are colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. The panel is adhered to a piece of Sugarplum and then to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Peacock with the left end flagged is adhered along the top of the panel and the two extra feathers are cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the right side of the Peacock Strip. I added three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and a heavy coat of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the feathers to complete the card! I do love the feathers, especially in the teal and purple! Glamorous, Unique & Wonderful – Hero Arts

It’s the weekend peeps! I spent most of the day indoors yesterday organizing my house! It was a good day to do it, it rained for most of the day. Thankfully Sue came over to keep me on task. I tend to loose focus easily when I’m not supervised, well, at least when I’m doing chores at home. LOL! I also got in some more episodes of Blindspot, still really enjoying the show. Some more organizing this morning and then I will need to get out for a little bit! 😀

I have a fun twist on a Mother’s Day card to share with your today! I stamped the images from the Hero Arts April My Monthly Hero Kit in Onyx Black onto some Bristol Smooth Card Stock. To color them in I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers and an Aquash Brush. Of course I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying a little, no patience! They are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. On my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the hangers and greetings from the same set again in Onyx Black. After I adhered the images to the card with 3M Foam Tape I used my Signo Gold Gel Pen to add some dots to make a background and also added some to the waist of the purple dress. It needed a little more sparkle so I used my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen to give the dresses a heavy coating! It’s not a very complicated card and I do think it would make a fun one to give to Mum for her special day! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you so very much for visiting! Freshly Made Sketches 284

Happy Friday peeps! Thankfully it only rained in the morning and the sun came out for the rest of the afternoon! The first day of Card Class went well and I’m looking forward to day two! I was on my own for dinner again last night, the Parent’s were watching Daniel and Tristan. I can see where I fall on the importance list! LOL! My evening was spent watching TV again to distract my little brain! Good times! 😀

Today’s card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I haven’t watercolored in a while and I have these new to me Pearl Watercolors from FineTec, I needed to give them a try! The flowers are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto some Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. They are then colored in with the FineTec Pearl Watercolors and my Aquawash Brush. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Next I used the Altenew Happy Die to cut out a piece of Kraft and two pieces of thin chipboard (left over packaging!), some Multi-Matte Medium adheres them to each other. While I waited for them to dry I created my card base with a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with another piece of Kraft and adhered a piece of Gold Glitter Card Stock down the center. The happy is then smooshed into my Versa-Mark Pad and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder, I did it twice to give it a really nice shine. To finish the card I adhered the flowers and happy to the card with 3M Foam Tape and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold Sequins. I really like the FineTec Pearl Watercolors, they have a nice sparkle to them, it looks so much better in person! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! SIP Challenge 86 – Colors!

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I have to admit that I’m a big romantic at heart! A lot of people think that Valentine’s Day is just a made up Holiday but I think that it’s the perfect day to show someone that you care a lot about how much they mean to you! Not that you should have to wait for Valentine’s Day to do that, you should make it point to do it as often as possible! If we all focused more on love and less on hate what a wonderful world this would be! And to that I had a lovely day at the Store yesterday. Renee and I do manage to have a good time in between all of the work and planning! When I got home I had a quick dinner with my Parents and then went out with Heather to Stop & Shop and then back to her house. My friend Louis stopped by to pick up some cards for his loved ones and I got to see George for a bit before I left. Renee is off today so I will be manning the Store. Stop by and show me some love if you are in the area! 😀

Today we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you, this time it’s colors…

I haven’t watercolored in a while and I wanted to so that’s what I did on today’s card. I started by heat embossing the rose and stem from the Altenew Sketchy Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. To add my color I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and #2 and #4 Silver Paint Brushes. I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers in between adding color and adhered the panel to a background of Black. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. All that was left to do was to adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I do love that rose image and I’m so happy with the way the shading turned out! Holly Jolly Christmas

We had about three inches of snow yesterday morning when I woke up and it was raining when I left to head over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. It was like a giant Slurpee outside all day! The crop was fun and I sat with Melissa and her Mum and worked on some projects and tried to catch up on other things. I left the store around 3:00 so I could come home and get ready for my little Holiday Party. I picked up Danielle and we ran to Target and stopped at Starbucks on the way over. We had a great time at the party and I got to see a lot of my old work peeps! Anthony and Bill were there too! Today is Renee’s cookie exchange at the store, I’m hoping get to sample some of them! 🙂

I have a nice simple card to share with you today. It’s a great last minute Holiday card and would be really easy to mass produce using your MISTI! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I adhered a piece of Gold Glitter Card to the front. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints Background using Soft Vanilla Ink. I then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Holiday Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Intense Black. The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My holly is from the Hero Arts Happy Holly Days Stamp & Die  Combo and is also stamped in Intense Black onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Card. I used my Staedtler Watercolor Pencils and a Pentel Aquash Detail Brush to color it in. The Coordinating Dies are used to cut it out and I adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. To finish off the card I added a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I love the softness of the background with the bold greeting and the little sprig of holly!
