Bold Bright Birthday Butterflies

Hi there and happy mid-week to you! I had a wonderful time in Pennsylvania over the weekend with my friends! We went out for breakfast, lunch and dinner, went for a local wine tasting and just relaxed. A perfect way to spend a birthday! Thanks to Jim, Lauretta and Cathy! I can’t believe that the season is almost over and we will be closing up the house for the winter in a few weeks. This year is just flying by.

My card for today is actually one that I made for my friend Sue back in June. It’s a Mini Slimline measuring 6 1/4 x 3 1/4. To create my background I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry. I applied them to a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb with my Blending Brushes and added the completed panel to my card base. The strip of butterflies is cut out of a piece of Pink Vellum using the Concord & 9th Butterflies Perfect Pairings Dies. That die has solid butterflies that coordinate with the Concord & 9th Bold Butterflies Stamps and Dies. I stamped those butterflies in Gina K Amalgam Ink and Concord & 9th Buttercup and Marmalade Ink. Those are added to the butterfly strip with Bearly Arts Glue and then to the card. My greeting is also from the Concord & 9th Bold Butterflies Stamp Set and is stamped in Concord & 9th Peacock Ink. It’s then adhered to the card with Foam Tape.

I had a piece of watercolor patterned paper in my stash and I used the Pinkfresh Mini Slimline Envelope Die to create my envelope for the card. A nice bright cheery Birthday card that my friend Sue loved!

Thank you for coming by to check in with me today! I hope that you have a wonderful rest of your Wednesday!

Happy Birthday Pumpkin

Happy Sunday peeps! I’m a little late this morning because I was out a little later than planned last night and actually got up this morning and made my card! I went over to Jim’s yesterday and we worked on getting his garage organized. We had a little lunch and then went over to the new Costco by him. He got a new TV for his bedroom so we installed that and then ran over to IKEA and Target. A lot was accomplished and that is always a good thing! 😀

That card that I made this morning uses some of the add-ons from the September My Monthly Hero Kit. I started by die cutting the pumpkin from Gold Glitter Card and the leaf from Green Glitter Paper using the Hero Arts Autumn Icons Fancy Dies. I laid the pumpkin onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock to get and idea as to where I wanted to do my ink blending. I used Just Rust behind the pumpkin and Pool around it. The pumpkin and leaf are then adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. For the greeting I ink blended some more Just Rust onto card stock and dried it with my Heat Tool. I then stamped the Happy Birthday from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with one of the banner dies and adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Green and Pumpkin Sequins finish the card! It would be a fun to give for a fall birthday don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! I thank you for stopping by! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

White Bengal Birthday

It was a rainy and wet day in Manhattan yesterday. They said drizzle, no, more like torrential! But a day in the city can’t be ruined by a little rain! I had lunch with my friend Kim at a really good Hummus place on 55th Street. From there we walked down towards Grand Central and went to Urban Space and had a Hibiscus Donut and some coffee. It was quite yummy! Here is a little picture of the donuts…

We hung out at her apartment for a bit before I headed back out to the Island. Taylor stopped by for a visit when I got home. A little TV before bed and that was my day! Oh, it’s Father’s Day today! LOL! Happy Father’s Day! 😀

I have another Simple Sunday card to share with you today! Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I stamped the grass from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bengal Tiger Photopolymer Stamp Set in Green Fields and Forever Green along the bottom. The tiger is stamped in Soft Vanilla and Black onto some Solar White 80lb using my Mini MISTI and then I cut him out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. He is adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black in the top right corner. That’s it! I thought that the tiger would be fun stamped in white as opposed to the usual orange! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

OSAT March Blog Hop – Birthday Bash!

Hey hey! Happy Thursday! I had a nice productive day at the Store after I had to stop at the bank again yesterday morning! My ATM card didn’t work, thanks citibank! I’ve definitely seen enough of them this week! LOL! Renee had her Kiwi Lane class and my Parent’s stopped by in the morning for a bit. After work I came home and spoke to Heather for a bit. My friend Jim came by and we had dinner, Zorn’s which I haven’t had in forever, and listened to music and talked. A very nice way to end the day indeed!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the talented Megan Thompson, welcome! This month we have a Birthday Bash theme! I don’t know about you but I can always use a Birthday card! I made a card and a coordinating gift box to share with you today!

First up is my card! I used the Lawn Fawn Out of This World Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped some of the images from the set in Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink so that I could color them in with my Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of Black to be slightly smaller than my card front and heat embossed the greeting in the bottom left with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added the images to the card with 3D Foam Squares and then stamped one of the stars from the set in Yeti Ink randomly over the background. Finally I used my Signo White Gel Pen to add dots to the background and give it a little more of a space feel. I think this would make a great card for a little boy’s Birthday, don’t you?

Next I have the coordinating box. I used the Lawn Fawn Fancy Box Lawn Cut to cut out the box and then used the Lawn Fawn Starry Skies Lawn Cut to cut out the stars from the lid. Some more images from the Out of This World Set are stamped, colored and cut out. I adhered the box together and added the stamped images to the lid with 3D Foam Squares. Again, I stamped the stars and added some dots and it’s done! I love that box, it’s a nice different way to give a gift card or a little present!

I hope that you enjoyed my card and gift box  for the OSAT Birthday Bash Blog Hop! You can click on the next button below to go back to the start and see what the talented Lori Mueller has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today. Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! 🙂

Out of this Box Card

What a nice Saturday! Crop days are always fun at the Store! I had a nice productive morning getting many things that I have been putting off finished! I also got to have a nice long chat with my friend Evelyn and ran out to the Post Office and Aldi with Marianne. After work I stopped by my friend Louis’ house and we ran a few errands. I saw my Parents for a bit when I got home and then went over to Heather and George’s for dinner. He made grilled oysters, seared scallops, salad and seared tuna steaks, it was all really good! We hung out and watched some TV and I was home by 11:00. Taylor fell asleep on the couch, woke up when I got in and left! I have a lot more to get done at the Store today but it’s always fun stuff no matter what! 🙂

I spent a little time playing again with more of the new Lawn Fawn release and made a fun Pop-Up card! This card will be offered as a Class at the Store this Thursday, March 2nd between 11:00AM and 4:00PM. You can go to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store site to call the Store and sign up! The card itself is cut from Battleship Gray and Black using the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Card Pop-Up Lawn Cut. I assembled it with Scor-Tape. On the back black panel I used the Lawn Fawn Starry Skies Lawn Cuts to cut out the stars and adhered it to the back panel. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Out of this World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped all of the images in Jet Black and colored them in with Copics. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the inside of the card with Acetate and E-Z Runner Ultra Strong. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto one of the black panels and adhered to the front flap. I love all of the space images and think this would make an awesome Birthday card for a little boy! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 231

Wow, Wednesday already?! I enjoyed my solo day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I had a few people stop in and I made my card for today. I also FaceTimed with my Aunt and my cousin Tracey in England, oh and Andrea too! Today I have to get ready for Card Class and work on some things with Renee! After work I had dinner and then came home and watched Valentine’s Day, an appropriate movie! LOL! I hope that you all enjoyed your day with your special someone! 😀

The card that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge

I started off my card by using my Mini MISTI to stamp the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lemon Yellow and Orange Soda with the eye stamped in Black. To cut him out I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I then set about creating my background. To start I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Mint Julep to add just a little color to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I stamped the seaweed from the same set in Emerald Green. My strip of paper down the right side is a piece of Kraft that I heat embossed with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Hunter Green that I cut out with the banner die from the Hero Arts Little Messages Stamp & Cut Set. The strip is adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares along with the goldfish. To complete the card I stamped some of the bubbles in Mint Julep and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets. That Goldfish is still one of my favorites and who doesn’t love the Clear Droplets, they make excellent bubbles! I hope that you like my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to see me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 273

Hello my friends! It’s getting chilly here again, guess Winter is back for a little while. The Store was a good time yesterday, projects were worked on, Angie was in and Marianne came by to work on her Home Decor Projects. After work I stopped and saw Heather for a bit and then came home, had some dinner and listened to some music. Jim stopped by and so did Heather. What a nice way to end a Friday! I have a lot more projects to get finished up at the Store today, as always, so much fun! 😀

My card that I have to share with you is SUPER Clean and Simple and it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

To start the card I stamped the celebrate from the Altenew Super Script Photopolymer Stamp Set in Sapphire, Persian Blue and Caribbean Sky Crisp Ink using my Mini MISTI so I could double stamp them to get a nice crisp image. The three are then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I lined them up on a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and stamped the happy birthday from the same set in Sapphire. The lightest one is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the other two with 3D Foam Squares. I was going to add a few sequins but decided that I liked it just the way it is! I hope that you like my Clean and Simple card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I thank you for coming by and visiting today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Sweet Mint Chocolate Chip Birthday

Crop days are always fun at the Store! It was Chevonne’s Birthday so we had cake! My friend Louis came by to show me his new Honda CR-V, so good to see him! I got to discuss This is Us with Linda! My friend Michelle stopped by too, so nice to see her! She picked up a few goodies and I can’t wait to see what she makes with them! After work I came home and went over to my Parent’s and spent some time with them, my Brother, Erika, Daniel, Tristan and Taylor! I even got a little group selfie…

Yes, I look a little bit like a fool, trying to get Tristan to smile! They are such good little kids! After that it was home to do a little organizing! Today is the last day to place your Lawn Fawn Pre-Order with the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! You can click HERE to go to the Collection! Tonight I’ll be getting the order ready! Can’t wait to get all those new goodies into the Store! 😀

For some reason I had a craving for mint chocolate chip ice cream yesterday so I decided that the card version would be a lot less calories! I used the Hero Arts Color Layering Ice Cream Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the ice cream and cones onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and an extra one for the main image. To stamp them I used Mint Julep, Tide Pool, Soft Brown and Cup O Joe. The single one is cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. My stamped background is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I cut a piece of 48lb Vellum to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and heat embossed the sentiment in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The die cut ice cream and cone is adhered to the Vellum with 3D Foam Squares and then I added more behind it to adhere it to the card. I love the way the Vellum really softens the busy stamped background and highlights the single come and greeting! I hope that you like my card for today! I thank you for coming by and wish you a nice easy Sunday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 225

More rain all day yesterday, again it could be snow so I won’t complain! It’s just one of those days where you just want to stay inside and watch movies curled up on the couch! But, I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with Renee and we did manage to have somewhat of a productive day. Two people came by to crop and I got some administrative stuff done and made my card for today. After work I came home and played with Daniel who has a really bad cold, poor little guy with his runny nose. We sat on the couch and I read a book to him, had dinner and then I came home for a bit before going over to see George and Heather. We watched a little TV and picked on Heather, always a good time! Today I have a more projects to work on, hopefully the rain will have stopped! 🙂

I’m having a big sale over at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store for the rest of the week! Today all Concord & 9th is 25% off! Use discount code CHANEW20172!

It’s Wednesday and we are back after a little hiatus with the first Paper Craft Crew sketch of the year…

My cards have been really bright, I guess I’m wishing for Spring to get here quick and today’s card is no exception! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Lemon Sorbet. I used the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies to cut out the negative from a piece of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Photoplay Summer Dreams 12×12 Paper. Another piece of Solar White 80lb, the same size, is placed in the MISTI and I lined up the large popsicle stamp from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped it in Tide Pool for the solid image and the lines. I adhered the Patterned Paper to the White, adding a piece of Washi Tape down the right side and a piece of Acetate to the back before adding some foam tape to create my well for my Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling Clear Sequins. The stamped piece is adhered to the well and then to the card with E-Z Runner. Two more popsicles are stamped in Grape Juice and Lime Green and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I also cut out the popsicle stick from Solar White 80lb and colored in all of the sticks with Copics. My greeting is also from the Sweet & Cool Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Like I said, I’m really loving the bright colors and hoping that it makes Spring come quicker! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Magical Pink Birthday

Despite the overcast weather and a little bit of drizzle in the afternoon I had a really nice day in Manhattan yesterday! The train was empty on the way in and on the way home! I went and visited my friends Jon and Mary in the morning and then walked from 86th and West End Avenue to 57th and Lexington Avenue. I got my steps in yesterday, a total of 6 1/2 miles! I wandered around Midtown and then went to visit my friend Carolyn and got to meet her parents! They were very nice people! After the city I stopped home and dropped off my backpack and went over to BK Sweeney’s to meet my friend Jim for dinner. I also ran into my friend Melissa, so great to see her! After a little coffee at Starbucks and some dessert I called it a night. I’ll be happy to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today, I have missed it!

The card that I have to share with you today is one that I made for one of Taylor’s friends for her birthday a while ago. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry to a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor card and spritzed it with a little water. My flying unicorn is from the Waffle Flower Magical Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the wings. The magical is cut out using the Waffle Flower Magical Word Die from a piece of Silver Glitter Paper. My background is adhered to the base with E-Z Runner and the unicorn and word with Multi-Matte Medium. It’s definitely a very girly card, perfect for the sweet 16’s recipient! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for stopping by! Have a very nice Tuesday! 🙂
