Sending Clear Butterflies

Happy Thursday! I had the pleasure of spending some time at the Lake for a few days, hence my absence. It rained a lot and the puppies got sick but it was still nice to get away none the less. My parents were also away in Disney with my Brother, Erika and the kids. Taylor pet sat for me and enjoyed a little time having her own place. I can’t believe that it’s almost the end of August… where did the summer go?!

I really have been enjoying my little obsession with hot foiling! I watched a video by Carissa Wiley a while ago and she had done it on acetate. I definitely had to give that a try! I also decided to jump on the paper strips bandwagon! To make the strips I used the Pinkfresh Slim Stripes Dies. I cut out two colors of Blue 110lb and some Gold Foil. They are added to a Slimline Card base at an angle with Bearly Arts Glue. I used my Paper Trimmer to trim off the excess. My butterflies are foiled using the Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and some Crafter’s Companion Gold Foil onto a piece of Heat Resistant Acetate. They are cut out with the coordinating Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Dies. My sentiment is from the Spellbinders Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Collection and is also foiled in the same gold. I cut it out using the included matching die along with a few extras so that I could stack them for some dimension. I added the butterflies and sentiment to the card along with a few The Stamp Market Clear Droplets and called the card done!

I hope that you like today’s card. It’s clean and I think that clear foiled butterflies are really cool! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Enjoy the rest of your Thursday!

Embrace Silver & Blues

Hi there peeps and a happy Monday to you all! I had a nice weekend and did something that I haven’t done in a very long time. On Saturday I took a ride into the city and picked up my friend Kim. We went downtown so I could go and see The Ink Pad’s new location. They have been there for well over a year but because of everything that has been going on I haven’t really been in the city. The new shop is nice and packed with fun stuff! Unfortunately Anna wasn’t there but I did get to see Patrice. I of course picked up a few things! LOL! Yesterday my friend George helped me do some things to my car and then Heather made a delicious dinner. A nice weekend indeed!

My card for today uses the Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate again! I think I’m a little addicted to hot foiling!I used my Gemini Jr. and the Gemini Foilpress along with the Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and some Silver Glimmer Foil to create the butterflies.

Next up I used the coordinating Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Stencil and Concord & 9th Midnight, Peacock, Oceanside and Aqua Sky Ink to add color.

I then cut them out with the coordinating Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Dies. For the background I cut a piece of Dark Blue Card Stock with the Pinkfresh Slim Diagonal Stitched Plaid Die. It’s trimmed to 8 1/4 by 3 1/4 and adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb. For the leaves I used the Pinkfresh Curvy Leaves Die and cut them from Silver Foil Card Stock. They are added to the card base with Bearly Arts Glue. The butterflies are adhered with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Pinkfresh Butterflies Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. It’s also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. For a little more sparkle I added a few Crystal Confetti. I don’t use much silver or blue and I actually really love them together! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! I appreciate your visit and wish you a pleasant day!

Eclectic Day

Happy Friday the 13th! I didn’t realize it was Friday the 13th until I looked at my phone this morning. It has been extremely hot and humid here for the past few days. It rained yesterday evening for about 20 minutes and was even more humid after that! It’s supposed to be a little better today but not much. Maybe some more time in the craft closet today to stay out of the heat?!

My card for today features a layering die set from Concord & 9th and is a mini slimline. I started by creating my background ink blending some Distress Oxide Inks in Mermaid Lagoon and Mowed Lawn onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with my Blending Brushes. That is adhered to a card base cut to 6 1/4 by 6 1/2 and folded in half. The finished card base is 6 1/4 by 3 1/4. Next up I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Card Front Thin Die to cut a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed it from it’s A2 size to fit better on my mini slimline card and adhered it with Bearly Arts Glue. My flowers are cut out using the Concord & 9th Eclectic Garden Dies from Rose Chintz and Garden Green. I added the flowers to the stems and leaves and then used my Prismacolor Pencils to add some details. They are also adhered to the card with Bearly Arts Glue. For the sentiment I heat embossed one from the Concord & 9th Eclectic Garden Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing powder onto another piece of Black 110lb and trimmed it with my Paper Trimmer. It’s added to the card with 3M Foam Tape. It needed something more so I dug through my stash and found some Goosebumps that I got years ago and added them to the flower centers.

I love the envelope dies from Pinkfresh so I made a coordinating envelope using the Mini Slimline one. A nice simple card that would perfect for a birthday! I hope that you enjoyed my project for today. Thanks so much for spending a little time here and I hope that you have a fabulous weekend!

Wonderful Bees & Flowers

Hello and happy mid-week! I had the pleasure of having my niece and nephew over yesterday. Daniel is addicted Apple Arcade and likes to play it on the 58″ TV and Tristan loves to play with Cali. I really am lucky that I get to spend as much time with them as I do and enjoy every minute of it!

I have been loving the new Hero Arts Fancy Dies and wanted the ones that I used to make today’s card for a while. Add a little color with Copics or watercolors and they come to life! I started by cutting out all of the dies from the Hero Arts Bees and Flowers Fancy Dies with Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with my Gemini Jr. I left them in the negatives and used my Copics to add some color to them. Once they were all colored in I set about making my background. To do that I used Blending Brushes and Hero Arts Reactive Splash and Green Apple Inks blended onto a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. The background is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I arranged the flowers and bees and then used Glad Press-n-Seal to pick them up. To adhere then to the card base I used a combination of Bearly Arts Glue and Foam Tape. The greeting is from an old My Monthly Hero Kit and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto Black 110lb Card Stock. To cut it out I used one of the dies from the Hero Arts Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL and added it to the card with Foam Tape. For a little sparkle I used Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the wings of the bees and Crystal Confetti from The Stamp Market.

I really do love those flowers and bees! Makes for an easy and quick card with big impact! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and as always I appreciate you stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!

Rainbow New York City Landmarks

Hi there and a happy Monday to you! I hope that you all had a nice weekend. It was a little overcast here on Saturday, Heather came over and made some dinner and we sat in the backyard. Yesterday it rained all day so Jim stopped by and we just hung around in the house. We ended up watching The Little Things on HBO Max. It was ok, a little slow moving but Jared Leto plays a really convincing creep! LOL!

As I have been going through things in the craft closet I keep finding “new” stuff! I came across this stamp from Carabelle Studios the other day and thought… I don’t want to color it in but I love it, what can I do with it? And this is what I came up with.

I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb Cardstock and trimmed it to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2. Using my Blending Brushes and my Make Art Stay-tion I added Distress Ink in Festive Berries, Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet to the panel and then used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying process. Once it was dry I stamped the Carabelle Studio New York Cling Stamp in Versafine Only Black Ink using my Misti. I ended up stamping it three time because the image has so much detail and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss anything. Once again I used my Heat Tool to dry the ink. It’s then mounted to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb. For the greeting I used the Hero Arts Message Strips Stamp & Cut XL. The greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto Black 110lb Cardstock and cut out with one of the dies in the set. I added it to the card with Foam Tape. I had read somewhere that if you add Distress Microglaze over Distress Ink it helps to prevent it from fading. I used a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Foam to add it to the card and then buffed it with a paper towel.

I do love the detail in the stamp and adding the Distress Micro Glaze brightened up the colors of the Distress Ink. I can’t remember where I actually got the stamp from but I know that The Ink Pad carries Carabelle Stamps, maybe Anna can order one up for you! I hope that you enjoyed today’s bright and colorful card. Have a yourselves a magnificent Monday!

Miss You Painted Peony Slimline

Happy Saturday peeps! I’m back with another card using some newish products from Concord & 9th. I have to say that I’m really liking the new slimline and mini slimline card sizes! It’s nice to make something other than an A2 card!

I used the Concord & 9th Painted Peonies Stamp Set and my Misti to stamp the flowers and leaves in Concord & 9th Ballet Slipper, Grapefruit, Honeysuckle, Poppy, Cranberry, Buttercup, Stardust, Sprout, Parsley, Clover and Evergreen Ink. The coordinating Concord & 9th Painted Peonies Dies are used to cut them out. I added them to a card base that is 8 1/2 by 7, scored at 3 1/2 and folded. For the greeting I choose the miss you from the Concord & 9th Big on You Stamp Set. It’s stamped in Gina K Black Amalgam Ink and cut out with the coordinating Concord & 9th Big on You Dies. I stamped the companion greeting in the same ink and trimmed it out with my Paper Trimmer. The greetings are added to the card with Foam Tape.

I decided to make a coordinating envelope so I got out my Pinkfresh Essentials Slimline Envelope Dies and some Recollections 65lb Black Paper. I really am loving making Slimline cards! It’s so nice to have a different shape to be creative with! Thanks for taking a little time out of your day to visit with me! Have a wonderful weekend!

All the Feels Foiled Butterflies

Well hello there! It’s been a minute or few years since I have posted anything to my blog. I sort of lost my Mojo after I stopped working in the retail store and I got busy with other things then the Pandemic hit. You would think that I would have taken some of the time spent in lockdown to be a little creative but the craft closet was also apparently on lockdown along with my creativity.

Recently I took some time to venture into my creative space and clean it out a little. There have also been a few new products that peaked my interest and I began purchasing crafty supplies again. I made a few things and then the other day I went over to spend some time in my friend Sue’s craft room. To call it a craft room really sells it short! There is so much stuff in there to play with it’s hard not to get inspired. That’s where I came up with this card. Hopefully it’s the start of me getting back to something that I used to love and do every day!

I started by using the Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate and some Crafter’s Companion Gold Foil along with the Gemini Hot Foil Press to foil the butterflies onto Neenah Solar White 80lb Cardstock. After running it through the Gemini Jr. I used the coordinating Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Stencil to add color to the butterflies. The inks are Ocean Breeze, Soft Lilac, Sparkling Rose and Candy Violet also from Pinkfresh. They are cut out with the coordinating one piece Pinkfresh Small Butterflies Die. My background is stamped in Pinkfresh Grassy Knoll using the Pinkfresh Diamond Tiles Cling Stamp. For the clouds I used Pinkfresh Sky Blue Ink and the Pinkfresh Cloud Builder Stencil applied with a Blending Brush. My greeting is from The Stamp Market Gorgeous Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink. I adhered the background to a top-folding card base with Tape Runner and the added the butterflies with Foam Tape. For a little more shine I added a few Pinkfresh Gold Metallic Pearls with Bearly Arts Glue.

I loved the hot foiling and the stencils made coloring the butterflies fun and simple! I also love the greeting and thought it went well with all of the butterflies. I hope that you enjoyed my card and thanks so much for taking the time to read today’s post! Have a wonderful Wednesday and I hope to be back soon with another project!

SIP Challenge 179 – Holidays!

Hey there… remember me?! LOL! I have been away for a bit but I have a few things to post this week so hopefully you’ll join me! Got a little inspiration last night, finally! I have been keeping busy helping my friend Kelly redo her bathroom and spending time with the kiddos! Over the weekend I went into Manhattan with Jim, Kim, Brian, Izzy, Kevin, Krissy and Brooke to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. It was great and we had so much fun! This weekend I have a Holiday party to go to, that should be a good time! My tree is up but I haven’t done any shopping! Gotta get on that! How are your Holiday plans going?! 😀

It’s Tuesday so time for a new challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

I used a new stamp set and an older one from Concord & 9th to make a fun simple card! I started by stamping the face and greeting from the Concord & 9th Winter Wear Photopolymer Stamp Set onto a piece of Solar White 80lb in Amalgam Ink using my Mini MISTI so I could stamp it twice. On a separate piece I stamped the scarf. The images are colored in with Copics, mine are in desperate need of refills and new nibs as you can see from the shading! The scarf is cut out with the coordinating Concord & 9th Winter Wear Dies. My snowflakes are from the Concord & 9th Snow Flurry Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Merman Ink. I adhered the stamped panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and added the scarf with Thin 3D Foam Squares. For a little sparkle I added Hero Arts Clear Gems to some of the snowflake centers and used Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Brush Pen over the scarf! A fun card that would be easy to mass produce! Stamp some and take markers or pencils with you and color on the go! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Holidays Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! Thank you so much for spending some time with me today! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 175 – Gratitude!

Hello my friends! It was a dreary Monday and that has continued into a dreary Tuesday. A good day to stay in and get some stuff done around the house. The kiddos are off from school and wanted to spend the day at my parents so I’ll have them tomorrow. I did go over and have breakfast with them this morning. Now to get some stuff done here! 😀

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I felt like doing some heat embossing so I did just that… and a lot! My background is created using the Concord & 9th Deck the Halls Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp. I put it into my MISTI and used Versa-Mark to stamp it each time onto a piece of Grey 110lb Card Stock. It’s coated with Hero Arts Gold, Platinum, Copper and Brass Embossing Powder and heat set then trimmed to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. My card is a piece of lighter Grey 110lb Card Stock and I adhered the background to the front. For my greeting I used the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaves Dies to cut out the grateful from three pieces of Grey 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Before adding it to the card I used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to add some sparkle. A pretty simple card with a big impact thanks to all of that metallic embossing powder! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Gratitude Challenge! Check out the rest of Team’s cards over on the BLOG and share your take with us in the gallery! Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 174 – Trick or Treat!

Hello friends! How was your Monday?! Mine was pretty good. The kiddos behaved themselves, you can’t ask for more than that! When I got home I finally used my InstaPot that I got to make some rice pudding. It was quick and easy and turned out great! I’ll have to find some more things to make in it. There are hundreds of recipes on Pinterest so that should be too hard! 😀

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I’m not much of a Halloween fan so I went with Fall for my card. To create my background I used a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock with my Mini Ink Blending Tools to add Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Barn Door Distress Oxide Ink. It’s splattered with a little water. I stamped the Thankful from the Concord & 9th Thankful Leaves Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Fine Onyx Black and then adhered the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My leaf is cut from a piece of Copper Glitter Paper from the Concord & 9th Summer Glitter Paper Pack using the Concord & 9th Thankful Leaf Die. I adhered it to the card with Glue Tube. For a little added sparkle I dug through my stash and found some Neat & Tangled Festive Fall Sequins. Love the Distress Oxides on the Bristol Smooth! A fun simple fall card! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Trick or Treat Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and share your card with in the gallery! Thanks for spending a little time with me today! Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday! 🙂
