Best-Teas Cuppa

Hello! Long time no posts! Let’s get right to it, my reason for my absence. A lot has gone on in the past few years. I had moved in with my partner of 8 years 2 years ago. In October of last year he decided that he didn’t want to live together any longer. I finally found a place and moved out in February. I’m still trying to get settled in my new apartment. For some reason it just doesn’t seem like home. I did go to England to see my family in April. It reminded me how much I love it over there and missed my family. I’m going back again for the Holidays at the end of the year and can’t wait! My Dad was diagnosed with Dementia in March. It has to be one of the worst things that can happen to someone. Physically he’s fine. I have a lot more to do to help out my parents these days, but that’s life, right?

Since I moved I haven’t really had any Mojo. Not that that has stopped me from buying supplies! LOL! But last week I was able to sit down and make a card so I felt that I would like to come on here and share it with you.

My card uses stamps from the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit. I stamped the images and greeting from the Best-Teas Stamp Set in Pinkfresh Detail Black Ink. I then colored them in with my Ohuhu Markers and added some detail with a Ohuhu White Gel Pen. They are cut out with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Best-Teas Dies. For my background I used the Simon Says Stamp Squovals Dies to cut out a piece of paper from the Honey Bee Stamps Textiles & Texture: Vintage Paper Pad. The other is a piece of Recollections Grey 100lb Card Stock embossed with the Simon Says Stamp Wistful Leaves Embossing Folder. I adhered them to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with 3M Foam Tape. The images and greeting are added with a mix of Foam Tape and Bearly Arts Glue. For a little sparkle I added some Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Dazzling Royal Gems.

I really like the Squovals Dies! It’s a nice twist on a standard oval with a bit more! I hope that you enjoyed the card! I also hope to be back soon with another card and update! Thanks for spending some time with me and enjoy the rest of your day!

This is too funny! Yesterday I was looking through some inspiration pics I had saved and saw one from you – the big J gave it away. I wondered whatever happened to you and wished you well and continued looking at pics. Then today, there is an email from you!! The universe is listening!! I am glad you are well.

      Hi Cindy!
That is pretty funny how things work! I’m doing well and looking forward to getting back to crafting. Started another card today! I hope that all is well with you too!

What a wonderful surprise to hit my inbox! I was browsing through Pinterest a few days ago and one of your cards was there, made me wonder how you were doing. Sorry to hear about your dad, dementia is hard, I am retired health worker and my last few years nursing were spent caring for seniors, many with dementia. Love the card, I was unsure about the squovals when I first saw them but love how you have used them. My second cousin has moved permanently to England, he met his now husband there while travelling, so a possibility for you in the future perhaps. Take care and hopefully we hear from you more, as life allows.

      Hello Lynne!
Dementia is definitely hard. It’s also very sad to see that person disappear. Glad that you like the card! I do love a little bling and those are a nice deep blue. So there is hope for me after all! LOL! I’ll be in England for three weeks starting December 17th and I cannot wait! Hopefully everything is good by you! Thanks for stopping by!
