  • Paper Players 258

Ahh… the middle of the week. It was nice here again yesterday, I snuck out of work and went and had lunch with Michael, a nice way to break up the day. It was a quiet evening, I had dinner and then watched a little TV and made a card. Today I have to go to one of the other sites for work, that should be fun. Can you feel my enthusiasm?! LOL! Only two more days to go!

The Paper Players has a fun challenge this week, clean and simple beach…

    Paper Players #258

I got some new stuff that I thought would be perfect for it! Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered with a piece of Bermuda Bay. My background is a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 Dreamy Paper Pad. I thought a shaker would be fun so I used the Simon Says Stamp Hello Sunshine Frame Die to cut out a piece of Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I inlaid the sunshine back into the frame and then adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back. Some Foam Tape along the edges seals in my mix of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Spring Mix Sequins. The sun is also from the same die and is cut out from some Daffodil Delight and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. A simple bright fun shaker card that definitely makes me think of the beach! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players beach theme! Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 10 – Inspiration

Hi there! I see that we all made it through Monday! Mine was a little rough, I ended up leaving work at 12:00, my stomach was bothering me so I came home and laid down for a bit. I didn’t eat anything and finally felt better around 4:00. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to meet up with Michael. When the store closed at 7:00 we headed over to the Walt Whitman Mall to meet up with Andrew and his girlfriend Kayleigh for dinner at Zinburger. It was great to finally meet Kayleigh and we had a fun time, the food was pretty good too. After that I came home and watched a little TV before calling it a night. Again, I don’t think that I will be having China Fun anytime again soon!

If it’s Tuesday then that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have an inspiration photo from Lisa…

    SIP Inspiration 10 400

I used the colors as inspiration for my card. That base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of Lost Lagoon. I used the Simon Says Stamp Postage Stamp Edge Frames Dies to cut out a piece of Crumb Cake and then cut out the You with the Simon Says Stamp Big You Craft Die. My Hello is from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and colored in with my Prismacolor Pencils. Some Foam Tape and Fun Foam with SNAIL adhere the panel to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins are scattered across the card and finish it off nicely! I love the negative of the You cut out of the background and popped up! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration challenge! Stop by the SIP Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and let us see your take by entering a card in the gallery! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 411

Hi there and welcome to the start of another week! I had another super weekend! Yesterday was fun at The Ink Pad with Michael as always and met up with Kim for dinner before heading home. We went to China Fun for dinner and while it was good I don’t think that I will go there again, stomach issues! LOL! The ride home was not too bad and we stopped by Sue’s before heading back to my place. I dropped Michael off at Scrap-A-Latte this morning, he’ll be there all day working and giving another one of his very popular baby book classes. Later on we are going to meet Andrew and his girlfriend for dinner, that should be fun!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

    Mojo411

I used some fun new stuff that I found at The Ink Pad yesterday to make today’s card. The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of Real Red. Two strips of Basic Black go across the card on a diagonal and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to give them the neat cross-stitch look. Next up is a panel of Daffodil Delight that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lantern is cut out from a piece of Real Red using the Marilyn Robertson Kimono Lanterns Die and adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with the matching Heartfelt Wishes Creative Cuts Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Vellum and the the Vellum to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Three birds from the Lanterns die set are cut out from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered with Foam Tape. I love that lantern die, so cool and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

  • Blushing Surf Enjoy

Happy Sunday peeps! Michael’s baby book class at Scrap-A-Latte was fun yesterday! After we were finished there we stopped back at my house to pick up a few things and then made our way towards Manhattan. I dropped Michael off in Astoria so he could meet his friend Marcia for dinner. I then headed over the 59th Street Bridge to Kim’s apartment on 63rd and I was lucky enough to get a parking space pretty much right across the street! Score! I took the stuff up to the apartment and then went for a little walk. When I got back I put on the TV for a bit and then went and met Michael at the 59th Street Subway. On the way back to the apartment we stopped for some Pinkberry frozen yogurt. This morning was another lazy one and now we are at The Ink Pad. A pretty good weekend so far!

So, today’s card uses one of my favorite sets, it’s a “Vintage” one but I still love it! My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Blushing Bride and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The cake and wreath are from that favorite set, the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb and some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue Ink with the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to give the paper that faded look. The image is then heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. The wreath is also heat embossed but on Vellum and cut out with a die from Dies By Dave. I adhered the wreath with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and the cake with Foam Tape. I used some more of the inked paper to cut out the Simon Says Stamp Painted Enjoy. It’s cut out three more times from white and then adhered together with more Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes today’s card. I really do still love the Your Perfect Day Set, especially that wreath! Thank you very much for stopping by to see me today! I hope that you have a super Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 263 & Card Class Cards!

Another beautiful day here on Long Island and a happy Saturday to you! Yesterday after work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the second night of card class with Michael. We had some Red Robin burgers for dinner with Nicholas, yum! LOL! The class was lots of fun as always, the Friday night crowd is a little rowdier than Thursday. Here is a picture of Melissa, Andrew and I…

    RC SAL Card Class Peeps

After class I came home and worked on my card for today and then watched a little TV. Today I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael while he gives his baby book class and then we are off to Manhattan tonight to stay at Kim’s again. Tomorrow we will be working at The Ink Pad so come on by if you are in the area! Speaking of The Ink Pad, if you take a little detour and go over to see Jenny of at Craft Test Dummies she has a post and a video about her little visit to The Ink Pad and you can see what she picked up!

If you scroll down to the bottom you can see my two cards that I made for card class using Reverse Confetti. I’m loving that little bird on the birthday card!

No on to my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 263

I went with a nice simple card using one of my favorite sets from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the greeting from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set on a piece of Rich Razzleberry in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the strip across the lower half of the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is from the Floral Wings Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizzaz on Solar White 80lb. I used the Bold Butterfly Framelits to cut it out and adhered it to the card with a strip of Foam Tape. A little scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes off the card. I do love that butterfly and since it’s Photopolymer it’s nice and easy to stamp the three different colors. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for taking a little time out of your day to stop by and visit with me! Enjoy your Saturday my friends! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 199

Hi there and happy Friday to you! Yes, it was another nice day yesterday and work wasn’t too bad either! After work I stopped home for a bit and started my card for today before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of my joint card class with Michael. He brought his dad so we went and had dinner, some pizza, before class. It was nice to get to meet his dad Joel, I now know where Michael gets his sense of humor from! Class was fun as usual and everyone enjoyed the projects! I’ll have mine posted tomorrow! Tonight we have the second night and then Michael has another baby book class there tomorrow. Sunday we will be at The Ink Pad and staying at Kim’s Saturday night! I really don’t want the Summer to end!

The card that I have for you today is for Freshly Made Sketches 199th challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 199

I can’t believe that they will be at challenge 200 next week! That’s pretty cool! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the bird from the Tim Holtz Bird Feather Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink on the card. My pocket is made using the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool and a Simon Says Stamp Stamp Pocket. I sealed a piece of Smoky Slate in the bottom and then cut out three feathers from Crumb Cake with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Dies. They are spattered with some Heidi Swapp Citron, Teal and White Color Shine Spray. I added them and a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the pouch and sealed the top. A piece of Red Line Tape (Sticky Strip) behind the strip of Smoky Slate adheres it to the card. The greeting is a piece of Solar White cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and some Pear Pizzaz with the rest of the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp You Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The left side is flagged and then I mounted it to the card with Foam Tape. I do love using the Fuse to make a shaker card, the goodies that you put inside move around really nicely and you can do some creative pockets too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for coming by to see what I’m up to! Have yourself an awesome Friday! 🙂

Next up is some Daffodil Delight and on top of that is a piece of Real Red that I embossed with the Lucky Starts Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. They are both adhered to the card at an angle with SNAIL. My library card and date stamp are from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. • Paper Players 257 & More Manhattan!

Well, the week is moving right along, it’s Wednesday already! It rained here most of the day yesterday, quite heavily in the morning but the sun did finally make an appearance later in the day! Little Daniel was at my mum’s so I got to spend some time with him, he actually says Uncle Justin now! We played with some Lego blocks for a little while and then had dinner. It’s his mum Erika’s Birthday today, a very Happy Birthday Sis! After dinner I made a card and then Michael stopped by for a bit before going to meet his brother. I ran to Target and that was pretty much the day. I do have a few more pictures from this past weekend’s Manhattan adventure with Michael. More really cool street art!

    Little Italy Liberty

Now that’s a really cool Lady Liberty!

    Little Italy Ga Ga

    Just some mixed-media building art!

    Little Italy Ship

Now that is just really cool!!!! I would like that in my house!

    214 Lafayette St

This is on the door to 214 Lafayette Street. You can read more about it here!

Michael has done a few blog posts on our outing too and he has some really cool pictures of the Subway! Be sure and go over to his blog and take a look!

Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #257

For some reason when I saw this I thought Summer! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and across the bottom is some Old Olive that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Die. My kite is cut using the Simon Says Stamp Kite Shaker Die from a piece of Crumb Cake and a piece paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The sun is cut from Daffodil Delight using the Mama Elephant Stitched Sky Creative Cuts Dies and also adhered with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Painted Summer Die and some more Daffodil Delight for my greeting. I also cut out some Fun Foam and adhered it to the back of the die cut to pop it up. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sun and greeting with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and the card is done! I love that kite especially with the DSP! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge and the rest of my Manhattan pics! Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 9 – A Sketch!

Monday, glad that you are done! It wasn’t too bad of a day at work so no complaints. I came home, ate dinner and then retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to work on some projects! I needed to get a few cards made and I still have a few more to go before I get all caught up! I really do love to end the day with a little creativity! Now if I could just find a way to get to be creative all day! Any suggestions?! LOL! I have some more pictures to share with you today from my adventures with Michael over the weekend!

We just thought that this building was really cool! Love the pops of red!

    Chinatown Street Art 1

And this is what I mean by seeing the city in a while new way! I never noticed that on the building before!

Michael has a great eye for street art! How cool is that?!

I’ll have some more pictures for you tomorrow! Now lets get to today’s post which is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time we have a sketch for you…

    SIP Sketch Challenge 9

I had fun putting together my card and I think that you could use it for a couple of different occasions! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a circle from a piece of Smoky Slate with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and then embossed it with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. It’s adhered to a piece of Basic Black with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The images are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used Simon Says Stamp Duckling Ink for the flowers and Catkin for the leaves. They are die cut using the matching 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Craft Dies and adhered in the negative circle with Glue Dots and Foam Tape. My greeting is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Wafer Thin Die and it’s adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A little Stardust Stickles is added to the centers of the flower and completes the card! I think that this would make a fun Wedding card but also be great just for any time you need a congratulations card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s card! We hope that you will enter one in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch! Thank you for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

    WFC Subway Station

The Dey Street Passage from Chambers Street Subway Station.

    WFC Subway Station Ceiling

The ceiling in the new Fulton Street Center.

    WFC Subway Station Mezzanine

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

    Mojo410

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Go and check out the blog for some more inspiration, we’d love to see your card in the gallery!
