Freshly Made Sketches 180

Well, I finally recovered from the “street meat” last night. Boy let me tell you that I felt it work it’s way through my entire digestive tract! I will definitely not partake in that delicacy ever again! LOL! That was rough! Other than that my day was relatively quiet and that is always a good thing! Little Daniel was over my parent’s when I got home form work and he wasn’t in the best mood because his back teeth are coming in. Poor little guy. I did manage to distract him for a bit with turning the light on and off. He now checks to make sure that it’s on or off too! Such a smart little man! I came home and spoke to Andrea on Skype, Kim on FaceTime and Eva on Skype while I made a few cards. A nice finish to the day!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I got a few new stamps and dies in the mail yesterday and just had to use them! My card base is yes, you guessed it, Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. On the top is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with some DMC Gold Metallic Thread tied through one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons. I heat embossed one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tucked it underneath the Crisp Cantaloupe piece.The hello is from a company called Altenew, they are actually based not far from where I live on Long Island! I heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A very simple card but I love the way the hello fades out towards the top! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 179

So, do you know what?! It’s FRIDAY! Yay! I have to say that I had a good but busy Thursday. Work was a little chaotic, they had an event in the morning and I ended up helping out my old department. Not that I mind and I would do pretty much anything for my old boss Nancy. I also get to fix some iPads tomorrow morning because the guy that we have in the IT department couldn’t do it. After work I went straight over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. We plotted what we are going to do with some upcoming projects. And yes, I got a few things! LOL! On the way home I stopped by Heather’s and had dinner with her and her brother. She made tuna wraps with avocado and I mixed up some Sriracha and Mayo, delicious! We ran to the shoe store because I’m looking for some brown boots. I didn’t find any boots but I did find three pairs of Ben Sherman shoes that I loved! I also wore a plaid button down shirt, something that I never do. Brown boots and a plaid shirt… what is happening to me?! LOL! When I got home there was some Happy Mail from Pretty Pink Posh waiting for me! Love me some sequins and I think that her’s are the best!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A fun sketch as always and I wanted to do something a little different. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Island Indigo. I heat embossed a piece of Garden Green with some Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Hero Arts with Basic Gray Waves Background Stamp. The Project Life Corner Rounder is used to round off the corners and some SNAIL adheres it to the card. Next up is a piece of Vellum and on that I heat embossed one of the stamps from The Open Seas Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Spiral Border Punch is used along the right side at the left corners are rounded and some 2-Way Glue holds it to the background. I also stamped the anchor from the stamp set and heat embossed that in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut it out with my Paper Snips. Some Kool Tak Clear Foam adheres that to the note page. My greeting is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Pool Party. I flagged the left side and wrapped some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord around it before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few of the Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Green with Envy Sequins complete the card. I really am loving that background stamp and the The Open Seas is the first Stampin’ Up! set that I ever got! Freshly Made Sketches 178

Boy have I been tired lately! I’m not usually but ever since daylight savings I have been unusually tired. Don’t know what that’s about, hopefully it will pass soon! Work was nice today, for lunch Robin and I had Chinese. I had General Tso’s Chicken, quite tasty! Little Daniel was at my parent’s house, always a highlight to my week. We had to spend some time opening and closing the microwave door and then turning the hall light on and off. He is so easily amused! I came home and spent some time Skyping with Andrea and Eva while I worked on some projects. Tonight night is the Control Freaks Blog Tour, so be sure and come back for that!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her Prince in last week’s challenge. You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week’s sketch…

Believe it or not this card started out by me thinking that I wanted to use the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper! The card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Hello Honey that I embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the On Film Framelits to cut out a piece of Basic Black and adhered a piece of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper behind it. Some Tangelo Twist is cut out with two of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The banner is cut in half and adhered to the card and the slide is adhered on top of that with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The for you is also cut out from Tangelo Twist and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces to the slide. My butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers to color on the back and adhered it to the slide with another piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. A few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around and that’s finishes the card! I really do like that Adventure Bound DSP a lot, yes, I know, I have said that many times before so you know it’s true! LOL! Freshly Made Sketches 177

I woke up this morning to rain, better than snow and it will help to melt what is left of the snow that we had. Yesterday was a nice day! Work was quiet and I managed to get caught up on most everything that I had pending. After work I stopped by the Post Office to get a package that was supposed to be delivered but I guess was forgotten. I wanted to get it yesterday so that our lovely mail lady wouldn’t just launch in onto the steps in the rain like she usually does! Last night dinner was spent with my friends Anthony and Bill. We stopped by Michaels to see Taylor before heading to Friday’s. We had the endless appetizers and the first round was the new Siracha wings, they were quite tasty! They were followed by garlic parmesan wings, pot stickers and more wings! I think I may sprout some feathers today from all of the chicken I had! LOL! I came home and made my card for today while Skyping with my friend Eva! We have something in the works that I’ll be able to tell you about in April! It’s going to be lots of fun!

My little card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to use a new background stamp that I got yesterday that I thought went perfectly with the anchor from the Guy Greetings Set! My card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock. The panel in the middle is the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay and Garden Green to ink it and stamped it on Soft Sky. It’s backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay and adhered to the card with some fun foam behind it to give it a little lift. A strip of Garden Green goes down the left side. My greeting and anchor are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the greeting is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Island Indigo, I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The anchor is heat embossed on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips, a little 2-Way Glue holds it in place. A scattering of some Green with Envy Hazel & Ruby – The Makery Sequins and a few from Pretty Pink Posh complete the card. I absolutely love the colors and the sequins are so cool! Freshly Made Sketches 176

Hi there everyone! Well, the snow started again this morning and it’s to continue throughout the day. Will Winter ever end? I just got a text that my office will be closed today! Yippie! LOL! I had a nice day yesterday, Robin and I had Wendy’s for lunch, it’s been forever since I have had fast food and it was yummy! I had a meeting off-site at 1:00pm and then went back to the office to finish up some stuff before heading to the parent’s for dinner. When I got home I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make my card for today. I finished and made the mistake of going on YouTube where I got sucked in for about 2 hours watching various nonsense! YouTube is a fantastic time waster! Lots to do and I spent the better part of the evening watching nonsense, felt good though! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Now I can safely say that I have never made a card like this before, what a fun sketch! I started my card off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, when folded it’s 9 1/4″ long by 3″ tall. My background is a piece of Soft Sky, I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch along the bottom. The hello is a Mama Elephant Die and is cut out from the background. Before I adhered the background I tied a piece of Black Baker’s Twine around it. I laid the cut out back in after I adhered it to the base and put the cut out word back in so I could put back the little pieces and then I removed the word. The butterfly is cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits from a piece of Basic Black and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I put some Crystal Effects on the body and fluffed up the wings a little and the card is done! I really do like the size of the card. I also was temped to put on some sequins but I wanted to keep the card as clean as possible! I really hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 175

And it’s Friday!! Woo hoo! I have another location to go to for work this morning and then I have my card class later on at Scrap-A-Latte. That’s going to be a good time! Taylor is going to come and help too! I’ll let you know how that goes tomorrow! Yesterday was cold yet again, I know you must be tired of hearing how cold it is here, but I promise that I will never complain about the heat this summer (which hopefully we have a lot of!)! LOL! Speaking of which I can’t wait for it to get here! Last night I had to run to BestBuy to get some ink for my printer and Michaels to pick up some last minute class stuff. Later on after I got home I Skyped with my friend Eva for a bit. Another pretty good day!

So I’m a little addicted to the “licorice” heat embossing Thinlits look and I have used it again on my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I kept the rest of the card really simple. My base is Night of Navy Card Stock. The main panel is a piece of Crumb Cake. I cut out the “hello” three times from Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Calypso Coral. They are all heat embossed multiple times with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I used some Multi-Purpose Glue to adhere them to the Crumb Cake. A piece of “Vintage” Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine is tied in a bow at the very top. I backed it with a piece of Coastal Cabana and instead of using Stampin’ Dimensionals I used a piece of Fun Foam and adhered it with SNAIL to the back of the Coastal Cabana piece and then adhered that to the base. Like I said a really simple card but I love the colors and the glossy hellos! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 174

It was actually warm here yesterday, well, warm is a relative term, it was 34 degrees! Which feels somewhat like a heat wave compared to -10. Tomorrow it’s supposed to go down to -15 that’s without the wind chill! Now that’s cold for NY! I may need to be chiseled off of the sidewalk at some point! Yesterday was a pretty good day at work, I had lunch with my friend Robin and it was my friend Christina’s birthday so there were some Red Velvet cupcakes to be had! I definitely ate too much! When I got to my parents Daniel was there! He was running around like always and wanting to be everywhere that he shouldn’t be! He is still the cutest! When I came home I went straight into the Stampin’ Galley, I had quite a few projects to get done, I forgot there is a Control Freaks Blog Tour this evening so I had to get those cards done! Be sure to check back here around 9:00pm to take the tour! And let’s not forget that tomorrow is Friday, freezing Friday as it will be know this week!

The first card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Narelle for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s challenge! Now here is this week’s sketch…

Loads of possibilities! I stayed very true to the sketch and had fun with it! The base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock. My diagonal strip is a piece of paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack backed with a piece of Night of Navy. My ballon is cut out with the Balloon Framelits, once from a piece of Bermuda Bay and again from a piece of Vellum Card Stock. I used the stamps from the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set to heat emboss the confetti on the Bermuda Bay balloon in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Happy Birthday on the Vellum one in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some 2-Way Glue holds the balloons together and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The bow is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and is also cut out with the Balloon Framelits and adhered with some more 2-Way Glue. A piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine is adhered in a few spots with Crystal Effect to give it the fun curves. To finish off the card I adhered some sequins from Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh with Crystal Effects randomly on the top half of the card. I love the colors and the fun Designer Series Paper, so bright and cheery, perfect for a birthday! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Freshly Made Sketches 173

Oh yes… it’s that day… my favorite day… you guessed it, it’s FRIDAY!! Woo hoo! Bring on the weekend!! I’m looking forward to getting some projects finished and maybe even a trip into Manhattan at some point! Yesterday we had peeks of sun and then it snowed for about 30 minutes and was done. It’s supposed to get bitterly cold here over the next few days, they said that we might even break a record low temperature. That should be fun… NOT! Today I have a meeting this morning and then Andrew is going to come and meet me for lunch. Tonight I have a date with my friend Sandy! We are going to go out to dinner and then have a little crafty time! A lovely way to spend a Friday night! What’s going on by you this weekend?!

So I came home last night and played around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit, I even got to do some watercoloring! One of the cards that i made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to do something collage and a little off kilter so this is what I came up with. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack. The panel in the middle is a piece of Vellum. I used another piece of the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and some of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper for my flags. They are stapled to the Vellum with the Handheld Stapler. The stamped image is from the Bits and Pieces Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the Vellum with SNAIL. I cut out a piece of Coastal Cabana with the Hello You Thinlits and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it to the stamped image. Some more SNAIL adheres the Vellum to the card and a Basic Hodgepodge Clip finishes off the card. I like the randomness of the layout and the double use of the Vellum! Freshly Made Sketches 170

Woo hoo!! It’s Friday my friends! The best part about this Friday is that I’m off from work for a whole week and will be heading to Florida on Sunday! Wee! I can’t wait to be in the warmer weather and see all of my friends! Yesterday wasn’t too bad here, it was sunny for most of the day and not too cold. Dinner last night for my Brother was made even more fun by little Daniel! He tried his first lemon! I had to share the video because his face is just great…

The best part is that even though he makes the lemon face he just keeps on eating it! He is just the cutest! Tonight I have a class at Scrap-A-Latte, that should be great fun! Looking forward to making some neat cards! I’m going to try and go see my friend Shane after the class since I will be out that way. Looks to be a very good Friday indeed! 🙂

My little time spent in the Stampin’ Galley last night yielded today’s card which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I have these dies from Simon Says Stamp that I have been dying to use and I thought this layout would work perfectly! The card base for today is Very Vanilla Card Stock and my background is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. Across the lower middle of the card is a piece of Gold Metallic Card Stock adhered with some 2-Way Glue. I used some Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler to cut out the Sketch Heart from Simon and inlaid the two together and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Sending is also a Simon die and is cut from Whisper White and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. Some more 2-Way Glue adheres it to the heart and completes the card. I love the heart and that embossing powder is just so nice and sparkly! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you very much for coming by today! Freshly Made Sketches 168

To describe the temperature here as cold would be an understatement! It is downright FREEZING! I guess if it wasn’t so windy it wouldn’t be that bad, but it’s pretty darn cold, like minus 10 cold! I was also quite tired yesterday. I made it through the day at work and got a lot done. I stopped by Scrap-A-Latte after work to meet up with Andrew so we could go over any last minute things with Renee and get keys. When I got home and went to my parents little Daniel was there and I chased him around for a bit. Then I came home and took a nice two hour nap! I did feel a lot better after that and was able to sit down and make my card for today.

After a little holiday break the ladies over at Freshly Made Sketches are back with a new sketch…

Very nice and simple! To start off my card I used a base of Daffodil Delight Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with some very strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue to hold it in place. The image is from the Sale-A-Bration A Happy Thing Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color it in. My greeting is from another Sale-A-Bration set, You Brighten My Day, also heat embossed in Gold on Vellum Card Stock and punched out with the Banner Punch. I cut out a piece of Wild Wasabi and Gold Glimmer Paper to put behind it and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. I needed a nice bright happy card on such a chilly day and I think this one fits the bill!
