Mojo Monday 426

It’s the last Monday in November… can you believe that?! Where has this year gone?! It feels like I was just walking around Manhattan with Michael a few weeks ago! And walking around London with Brian a few days ago! Time really does fly when you are having fun so I guess that I have been having a good time! Yesterday I managed to get most of my crafty stuff done, still more to do but I get in my own way sometimes and YouTube is a really big distraction, for me anyway! LOL! This morning I’m going to go and watch Scrap-A-Latte for Renee and then I have my Ton class at The Ink Pad this evening. I’m looking forward to that! It will be a late night but it’s all good!

The start of another week and a new Mojo Monday sketch! Here is this week’s…

Mojo426

I had some more fun with the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Real Red. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Squares to cut out my windows. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back with SNAIL and then two layers of Foam Tape. The background is a piece of paper from The PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes 6×6 Paper Pad. Some Recollections Red and Teal Sequins along with a few Red Seed Beads are sprinkled on the background and the window is adhered over to seal them in. Two more pieces of Real Red are flagged and I used my Tuxedo Black Marker to go around the edges before adhering them to the card. The house and greeting are from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Puffy Stickers Pack and are adhered with Foam Tape. A scattering of Jillybean Soup Red and Teal Self Adhesive Sequins are adhered to the card from top right to bottom left. I do love the teal and red together and the puffy stickers are fun! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks very much for coming by today! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Chisholm Bird Christmas & The Tree!

It was a fun day at The Ink Pad yesterday! I even got to meet one of my blog readers all the way from San Antonio, TX! We took a picture together but I never got the email with it so if you see this please send the picture again! It was drizzly most of the day but we still saw a lot of people! To celebrate Small Business Saturday (and Sunday!) The Ink Pad has 20% off everything in the store! If you are around there tomorrow stop by and tell them that I sent you! I had taken the train in so I got to have a nap on the way home. I figured that it would be difficult to find parking! I had some stew that Mum made and then came home and crafted for a bit before watching The Kingsman. It was a really good movie! Today and tomorrow I have a lot of craft stuff to get done, wish me luck!

Oh, as promised, here is a look at my very non-traditional black Christmas Tree! I love it! It’s nice and tall and skinny! Can you spot all of the initial ornaments that I have on there?

JK Christmas Tree 2015

The card that I made last night when I got home is today’s card! I used a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to crate the “sky” on the card. A piece of Mossy Meadow is cut out with the Chisholm Die and adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive along with a branch cut from some Early Espresso using the Memory Box Branching Out Die. My bird is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Khaki and Lipstick Red Ink, for the final layer I used Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Recollections Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. His feet are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and they are both cut out with the coordinating Frame Cuts dies. The feet are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the bird with Foam Tape. My greeting is stamped in Lipstick Red using the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set along the bottom right. Finally a few Red Sequins from Michaels are adhered to the wreath and complete the card. I still think the Color Layering Bird is so cool and the wreath is fast becoming a favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and the peek at my very non-traditional Christmas Tree! Thank you very much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 214 & Some Crafty Things!

It was a gorgeous day here yesterday! So nice in fact that I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte in the convertible! The day began nicely too! I asked Taylor to make sure that I was up by 9:00 and she did just that. There was even a cup of coffee on my nightstand! What a lucky dad I am! I got a few things done that I wanted to get finished but I was no where near as productive as I wanted to be. Today I’m off to Manhattan for a day at The Ink Pad! It’s Small Business Saturday so don’t forget to go out and support your local small businesses! Also today in my store all stamps are 20% off if you use coupon code BLKFRI20 when you check out! And at the end of the post I have listed a few of my favorite craft products! Most are inexpensive and would make great stocking stuffers! They are things that I use almost every day and can’t live without! I hope that you find them as useful as I do!

Before we get to my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches I want to thank Karren for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s sketch! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now, here is this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 214

I stayed really true to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flagged strip is a piece of Red Felt that I adhered to some Solar White 80lb with Tombo Extreme Adhesive to make it a little more sturdy. The Merry and snowflake are both cut out from Solar White 80lb four times using the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees and Nadine Snowflake Dies. I adhered them to each other with Elmers Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The snowflake is then adhered to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape and Multi-Matte Medium and the merry with just Multi-Matte Medium. Three Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I love the dimension from the layered die cuts and the super simple look of this card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to check out my favorite crafty things after the card! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 78

Are you able to move yet or are you still stuffed like a turkey from yesterday’s meal?! I was pretty well behaved although I did eat more than my share of Erika’s stuffed meatballs! Dinner was very low key and I was back in the Stampin’ Galley by 6:00. I made the mistake of turing on the TV and got sucked into Night at the Museum. Taylor had to work until 2:30am at Michaels and we ran over to Target when she got out. I am thinking that this morning will be another late one! LOL! So I think that I will schedule this post!

Friday and it’s a Fab Friday too! We have a fun sketch for you this time around…

Fab Fri 78 11-27-2015

I decided that I would use this month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit to make my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Real Red to the front and used a piece of the Pinkfresh Studios 6×6 Paper that came in the kit for the background. All of the images and greeting, including the sequins, are from the Gifts of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set also included in the kit. I stamped the tree in Simon Says Stamp Teal Ink and the trunk in Khaki. My sequins, cat and gifts along with the ornament are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used some punches to punch out the sequins and the rest of the images are cut out with my Paper Snips. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on another piece of Real Red and adhered to the background. The gifts are adhered with SNAIL and the cat and tree with Foam Tape. Finally I adhered the sequins with some Bling Glue Dots and added a thick layer of Glossy Accents to them for a little more shine! I love all of the goodies in this month’s kit and I especially love the colors! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you! Thanks you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 272

Happy Thanksgiving peeps! It’s supposed to be a nice day in the 60’s here and I’m looking forward to a little dinner with my parents and Taylor. I enjoyed my day yesterday by crafting for a bit in the morning, hanging out with Heather in the middle of the day and crafting some more last night. Heather made some scone cakes while I worked on my little on-line project and it smelled so good! I helped her out a little and played with the kitties. I also caught up on Limitless last night since I missed it on Tuesday. Still loving that show! Are you all set for today?!

One of my cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Joanne for choosing my card as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to their week’s sketch…

Paper Players #272

I see a little tag on there! LOL! The card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Altitude 6×6 Pad from last year. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A strip of My Colors Pale Aqua goes across from the left and is flagged on the right with the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Gifts of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink to color it before adhering it to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The tag is cut from some Recollections Adhesive Cork Sheet that is adhered to a piece of Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Dies. I tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine thought the top and also adhered the tag to the panel with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A drop of Multi-Matte Medium adheres the twine to the card. The snowflake is cut from more Pale Aqua with the Simon Says Stamp Maryanne Snowflake and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Marshmallow and Aquamarine Sequins scattered from top left to bottom right complete the card. I love the swoop of the twine and the sequins, they give the card a little “motion”! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to visit with me! Have a terrific Turkey Day filled with friends, family and love! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 172

Hey there! Do you have all of your festivities planned for Thanksgiving? Will you be going Black Friday shopping until the wee hours of the morning? The answer to both of those questions for me would be no! LOL! I’m not a huge fan of lines and I’ll be going next door to Mum & Dad’s for Thanksgiving. Yesterday was a little colder here than it has been. I played in the new and improved Stampin’ Galley for a bit in the morning and then ran over to see Renee and Angie at Scrap-A-Latte for a little bit before coming back home and spending a little time with little Daniel. After dinner I headed over to Heather’s and we ran to Target and then back to her house for an early Thirsty Thursday! Brian and Patty even came! Always a good time when spent with my peeps! Today I’m going to try and get some serious creative time in and get some on-line things done! It’s supposed to be in the 60’s here on Thursday so I plan to enjoy some outdoor time then!

It’s mid-week so I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS172 DT Sketch 11-25-2015

I used a whole bunch of different products on today’s card! Love when you can mix things from different companies and have them play nicely together! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and it’s cut so that when it’s folded it makes a 4 1/4″ square card. My background consists of a piece of paper from an old My Mind’s Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas on the top and a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper across the bottom. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Crumb Cake. They are held together on the back with some tape and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The tree is form the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Leaf and Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink. I used the coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the frame with SNAIL. Finally, the greeting is from the same Hero Arts Set and is stamped in Green Leaf with the ends flagged and adhered to the card with some more Foam Tape. I do love the bit of sparkle from the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the eclectic mix of elements! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come by and visit with me today! SIP Challenge 24 – Colors!

So, I got up late again yesterday! I have to stop that! LOL! I did have a very productive day despite my late start. I went on a cleaning frenzy! All of the stuff that has spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room has been reorganized and put into the Stampin’ Galley! I spent a few hours making room and rearranging things so that it would all fit! I now have my living room back and even put up my extremely non-traditional Christmas tree! I like to let it settle for a few days before I decorate it. As soon as I have it decorated I will post a picture. I’m warning you, it’s VERY non-traditional! But when it comes to Christmas, that’s me! Later on after dinner I took a ride up to Michaels and Target with Taylor. I had a few things to get and found some things that I didn’t need! Isn’t that always the way it is?!

It’s Tuesday and time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We have some fun colors for you…

SIP Color Challenge 24 800

It reminded Carolyn of Summer, but that’s because in Australia they are heading into Summer! Me, I thought of Christmas! I wanted to play with a few new goodies that I received in the mail yesterday so I used them for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with a piece of Black 110lb covering the front. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I used the Simon Says Stamp Chisholm Wreath Die to cut out a piece of Cucumber Crush for the wreath and Watermelon Wonder for the bow and berries. They are adhered to the background with 2-Way Glue. The greeting is cut from Watermelon Wonder and Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Dies. I adhered them to one another and the card with more 2-Way Glue. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium in between the berries. I added some Glossy Accents to the berries for little more dimension. A quick brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen over the Merry and the card is done! I love that intricate wreath and the bow and berries that go with it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you and enter your project in the gallery! Thank you for visiting with me today! Mojo Monday 425

And how was your weekend?! Mine was good! Yesterday I went to the movies with Andrew and Brian to see The Hunger Games – Mockingjay 2 and it was really good! Andrew was relieved that it ended! LOL! You remember that he doesn’t like sequels! After that we took Brian home, he had peeps coming over, and Andrew and I had lunch at Friday’s. From there we came back to my house and decided to start cleaning out the Stampin’ Galley. We managed to box up most of my old sets and made loads of room for new stuff! It also prompted me to clean off my desk, I can’t remember the last time that I saw all of the top of it! I should have taken a before pic!

Clean Desk!

It was so nice to make today’s card on that desk! I did have a bit of a headache again in the middle of the day and that took a bit to go away but when it finally did leave I got my crafty on! I finished off the evening watching some of the AMA’s. Love a Sunday spent with friends!

Isn’t it neat that we get to start each week with a fun sketch from Mojo Monday?! Here is this week’s…

Mojo425

I was inspired to make a card using some Bronze by one that I saw on Pinterest last week so I picked some up when I was at The Ink Pad on Saturday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire card front covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The strip down the middle is a piece of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My panel is a piece of EK Success Adhesive Wood Sheet and it’s adhered to a piece of Solar White 110lb. I put some Versa-Mark on the edges and heat embossed it with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered the wood piece to it. The snowflakes, numbers and greeting are also embossed in Copper. They are cut out from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine and Kinley Snowflake Dies along with the abstract numbers, cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Number Block Dies. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Dies. I adhered the large snowflake and greeting with Multi-Matte Medium and the numbers with Foam Tape. For the small snowflake I used teeny pieces of Cool Tak Clear Foam Tape. I am loving the Copper Embossing with the Kraft and Island Indigo! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the blog and take a peek at what the rest of the Team has created to inspire you! Thank you so very much for checking in with me! Have a super duper Monday! 🙂

Happy Christmas Winter Scene

Another fun day in Manhattan with Barbara and Anna at The Ink Pad! It was a pretty busy day too! I made a little sample using Tim Holtz Christmas Minis Stamps and some Distress Inks with a watercolor brush. I got a nice close parking space to the store, after driving around for about 20 minutes! After we closed I gave Barbara a ride up to her brother’s and then took the Triboro Bridge to get out of the city. The traffic wasn’t too bad and I was home by 8:30. I had a quick sandwich and made my card for today. After that I was exhausted and went to bed! Today I’m off to see The Hunger Games – Mocking Jay Part 2 with Andrew and Brian! Oh, my parents got a little Christmas tree that lights up and turns with a train that goes around the bottom the other day and Daniel loved it! Can’t you tell from the huge smile on his face?!

Daniel & Tree

My card for today uses a new set that I picked up from Hero Arts. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb for the front and then used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out a window. A piece of Soft Sky serves as my background and I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste on it to create the snow. Next up I took the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies and cut another piece of Solar White 80lb using just the die without the stitching and layered them on top of one another and adhered them over the background. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the trees in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf, the deer in Hero Arts Wet Cement and the house in Hero Arts Cup O Joe. They are all cut out with the matching Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with either SNAIL of Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue with the Hero Arts Happy, Happy Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and the the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the little scene in the cut out and the soft colors. The greeting is also neat because in England it’s Happy not Merry Christmas! I hope that you enjoyed my fun winter scene card for today! Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you all a superb Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players 271

The sun came out for a little while yesterday and today it’s supposed to be rainy. Brian stopped by yesterday to work on a little project that he is making and I worked on my card for today. After he left I ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to cut for class. From there it was back home and then over to my parent’s for dinner. It really is convenient living right next door! When I got back home I watched the Zedd True Colors concert from San Francisco on YouTube and then watched a few crafty videos. I also continued the purge for a little bit. This morning I’m back over to Scrap-A-Latte for two classes today, I’ll run home in between and get a little crafty on! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #271

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Night of Navy covering the entire front. The stamp is from Hero Arts and is called Snowy Scene. I inked it with Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and stamped it on a piece of Solar White 80lb. My greeting is two parts, the die cut is from the Ellen Hutson Essential by Ellen Zipper Panel Set and is cut from another piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The stamped part is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set and is inked with the middle of the Ombre Pad. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give it a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the stamped image. I LOVE that Snowy Scene Stamp, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it and it looks so cool stamped in the Pool to Navy Ombre Ink! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge!! Thank you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a thrilling Thursday! 🙂
