Mojo 254

Hello peeps! I hope that everybody had a nice Monday. Mine was good, no complaints which is great! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I’m loving the sketch because it has a nice big flagged piece in it! My card starts off with a base of Baja Breeze Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to a piece of Early Espresso. The flagged piece of Baja Breeze is paper-pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool, it’s mounted to the card with SNAIL. I used a piece of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and backed it with some Baja Breeze, it’s then mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. If you look closely you can see Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake in the paper, two colors that are not listed as the coordinating colors in the 2012 Holiday Catalog. Upon closer inspection I have found that most of Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers have some extra colors in them, you just have to take a little time and find them! I then used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with some Early Espresso 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon. It is doubled on each side and small piece threaded through the middle for a quick tied bow effect. In the middle of the ribbon slide is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and in the center of that is a basic Jewels Rhinestone. I adhered the ribbon on the back of the Early Espresso piece with Sticky Strip. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and Is stamped in Versa-Mark and Heat embossed with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I then cut the ornament out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. You can get both the stamp set and the framelits in a bundle and save 15%. The greeting is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped using my Stamp-a-ma-jig in Baja Breeze and mounted to a piece of Baja Breeze. Three Metallics 3/16″ Brads are on the left corner and I adhered the whole panel to the card base with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have been on a non-tradiotional holiday color kick and I’m liking the results. I hope that you enjoyed tho week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have a great day! 🙂

Mojo 253

Hello and good morning to you all. First order of business, Happy Birthday to my friend Danielle! I hope that everyone is having a good week. Mine is going well. I was a Perfect Prince(ess) over at Freshly Made Sketches today! Thank you to all of the lovely ladies over there and a special thanks to Cindy for choosing my card. You can see the card over at Freshly Made Sketches.

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has provided us with this sketch…

I like when, on occasion, the sketch calls for you to not put things on straight which sometime can be more of a challenge than putting them on straight! For the first time I have some Halloween stamp sets. Ever since I became a Demo I am really into the Holidays like never before. I can’t wait to make some Halloween stuff to decorate the house! My card starts with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Tangerine Tango for the background. The strip of very vanilla “ribbon” is stamped in Tangerine Tango with the Border Banter Stamp Set. The pieces of Designer Series Paper, mounted on Basic Gray and Basic Black, are form the Howlstooh and Scaringbone Collection. For the main image I used a stamp from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and stamped it in Basic Black on Very Vanilla. I used the Labels Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out and cut out a piece of Basic Black, cut it in half and adhered it to the back for a little border. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool, fast becoming one of my favorite accessories form the 2012 Catalog, to pierce the edges and flagged the one side with my Paper Snips. The image and greeting are both mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The rosette is also made from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP and I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and the Owl Builder Punch for the circles in the middle. I’m having so much fun using all of the products from both of the catalogs! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you so much for visiting! Have an amazing day!

CCMC 212 Muted Christmas

Hello peeps and happy Friday to you all! I love Friday, it’s such a great day! I have lots to get accomplished this weekend and I’m hosting card class this monday so I have to come up with some neat projects over the weekend and bring some semblance of order to my house! Like I said, lots to do!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the ladies have given us a color challenge…

Like I said the other day I’m really into the non-tradiotional holiday colors. I am determined to use all kind of unusual combinations this year. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used the Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Sahara Sand Card Stock. I adhered it to the card base with some SNAIL. The middle group starts with a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and my Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge. The center stamped images are from the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red and Basic Black. I punched the frame out with the Extra Large Oval Punch and adhered it and the window to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered under the window with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Real Red. I used the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to make the ticket corners on both the Whisper White and Real Red and then mounted it to the card with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the color combination and the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing folder paired with the Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set makes Holiday cards simple and elegant! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card. Have an awesome day! 🙂

Vanilla Burgundy Joyous Frame

Good morning! Today’s the day! The Holiday Catalog is live! You can place your orders for the new goodies by clicking on the catalog to the right. I hope that you have enjoyed all of the sneak peeks and have gotten some inspiration from them. Today’s post uses new items from the Holiday Catalog. The base of the card is Bravo Burgundy Card Stock. I used the new Holiday Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with some Very Vanilla Card Stock for the background. I flagged a piece of Bravo Burgundy and used a piece of retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon and flagged that too and mounted it to the center of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The frame and the ornament are from the new Joyous Celebrations Stamp Set and are stamped in Bravo Burgundy. I stamped the frame on Sahara Sand and used the Extra Large Oval Punch to punch out the frame and I fussy cut the ornament with my Paper Snips. A Basic Jewels Pearl place in the center of the star finishes off the card. I really like nontraditional holiday colors. This card is a super simple quick and easy one to make and would be great for making a stack to send out to friends. Who wouldn’t want to get this card instead of a store bought one?! Don’t forget, place your order through me and start earning your Anchor Rewards towards any free stamp set of your choice. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

Mojo 252 and Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing pretty good, made it through Monday unscathed! I hope the same holds true for all of you. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has give us the round or square choice…

I went with square as I always do. I know, I need to mix it up but I really like the square card better than the round one. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I added two different pieces of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The flagged piece of Very Vanilla is pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The rectangle on top of that consists of a piece of Very Vanilla that is embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and mounted to a piece of Gumball Green. The Cherry Cobbler scalloped edge was created using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and adhered to the back before I adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Circles #2 Bigz Original Die to cut out the Gumball Green circle, Paper-Pierced that too and adhered it to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The greeting is from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. Two SIlver Mini Brads give it a little bling. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies to cut them out and adhered then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new bundles that they have in the Holiday Catalog, they save you 15% when you purchase the stamp set and coordinating framelits together. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Reason to Smile Promotion and bonus $50 Host(ess) promotion. Tomorrow marks the start of the Holiday Catalog order. So many decisions! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for stopping by and have yourselves a great day!

CCMC 211 Sketch Challenge and Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to the Saturday edition of my JK Cards! LOL! I’m trying to think of some different ways to start my posts. 🙂 What are you all doing for the weekend? Did you watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? I DVR’d it so I can skip through what I don’t really want to see. I have two parties to go to today so I get to see my peeps which is always great! Maybe later I’ll tune in to see what’s going on. over in London.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I wanted to do a holiday card and use some more of the new products but I didm’t want to use traditional colors. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack* for the center and cut two pieces of Very Vanilla with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. I adhered the cut pieces to the card and then the whole thing to the base with some SNAIL. The Cherry Cobbler doily in the middle is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the ornament from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* with Versamark. The coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* make cutting them out a breeze. The ornament is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Vintage Faceted Designer Series Button is threaded with Linen Thread and I tied a piece of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla to it that I stamped with merry from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. The embellishment is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. For the greeting across the bottom I stamped the first half of christmas cheer from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge it before mounting it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like this card, especially the color combination. It has an understated elegant holiday feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have an excellent day!

Paper Players #105 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was good. I got most of what I wanted to do accomplished. I also went into the city yesterday to see some friends and drop off a Stampin’ Up! order. The best part was driving in and back with the top down in the car! 🙂

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. This week Jaydee has given us this sketch challenge…

A nice simple layout to work with. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and backed it with a piece of Garden Green. The tree is cut with my Paper Trimmer and mounted to the card. I embossed piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and adhered to a piece of Garden Green with some SNAIL. The ornaments are from the Merry Minis Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the coordinating new Merry Minis Punch Pack* to punch them out. The circles behind them are form the Be Of Good Cheer Designer series Paper and are punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. I adhered the ornaments to the circles with Mini Glues Dots and the circles are adhered to the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I punched the star out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack* from a piece of new Champagne Glimmer Paper*. For the circle to the left I used a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die. The new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch* is used to punch out a piece of Garden Green. The Cherry Cobbler Circle is punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and the tree with the Merry Mini Punch Pack*. The greeting across the top is from the new Border Banter Stamp Set* and is stamped in Garden green and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that you are liking the new items from the Holiday Catalog and that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. FMS #43 and Sneak Peek

Good morning! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing well, I’m off to Vermont a little later on with my friend Kim. I’m going to go and pick her up from the city and off we go. I’m looking forward to seeing some friends up there and enjoying all of the beautiful scenery. I’ll post some pictures on Friday. 🙂

Today’s post is from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Tui has give us this sketch to work with…

I wanted to load this card up with some sneak peeks so I decided the easiest way to do that would be to make a Christmas card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla. I added a piece of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper to it for the background. The piece of Gumball Green Card Stock is stamped with the new Border Banter Stamp Set* in Gumball Green. Another piece of Be Of Good Cheer DSP is placed on top of that. The main panel is a piece of Chocolate Chip. On top of that I embossed a piece of the new Core’dinations Card Stock* in Cherry Cobbler with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. I used the Stampin’ Sanding System*, consisting of a new sanding block with replaceable sanding sheets and the Core’dinations Dust Buddy*, to sand the card stock and reveal the lighter inside. It gives it a really cool texture and almost a velvet feel to the sanded parts. The mittens are from the Make A Mitten Stamp Set* and are stamped in Gumball Green and the snowflakes are stamped in Chocolate Chip. I punched them out with the Mitten Builder Punch*. The greeting is from the Tags til Christmas Stamp Set and is also stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the 1″ Square Punch and backed by a piece of Gumball Green Card Stock punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch. I mounted the mittens and the greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon and a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper* punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack finish off the card. I hope that you enjoyed all of the sneak peeks and that you liked this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day! 🙂

Paper Players #102

Hello everyone and happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was good, I got to see some friends, craft and my brother and his fiancĂ© picked up the Wedding invitations! I’m so happy they are finished and that they were happy with them. Next up… thank you cards! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a theme challenge, Christmas in July…

I was very happy to get to use some of my new Christmas stamps. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of the card. The greeting at the top is from the Cheerful Christmas Stampin’ Around Wheel. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out the letters. Then I used the Ticket Duo Builder Punch with Gumball Green Card Stock and adhered the letters to it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the image from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set in Gumball Green and punched it our with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. The ornament loop is stamped in VersaMark and the heat embossed with Pewter Stampin’ Emboss Powder. In the middle is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Cherry Cobbler punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a Basic Jewels Rhinestone adhered in the center. The whole thing is mounted to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper bow at the top was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Cheerful Christmas Wheel and cut and assembled with Sticky Strip. Another Rhinestone is adhered in the middle. The bottom image is also from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. I used still more Rhinestones in the middle of each image and mounted it to a piece of Gumball Green Card Stock and still more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I’m loving the brighter Gumball Green for the holiday’s this year. I hope that you enjoyed today’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are inspired to make some holiday cards too. Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day!
