    Freshly Made Sketches 257

I had another dressing appropriately issue again but I wasn’t the only one! When I went outside at 7:30 yesterday morning it was chilly and overcast, I wore long pants and a sweatshirt. By the afternoon I was roasting! LOL! The sun had come out once again and it was a lovely day! Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me cut for today’s Haunted House class. She was dressed for fall too! I cut a few extra kits and will post a picture of the house over the weekend in case anyone is interested. Taylor had text me during the day and asked me if I would pick something up for her and drop it off at her house then Heather called and asked if I would run over to her house and set her DVR to record some stuff. I also had to run to Target, I sold my Nespresso to Heather a few months ago and miss it and they had one on clearance for $138 (originally $279!)!! So I ran all over. Taylor did text me and say that she wanted to get out of the house so I picked her up before Target. She is still in pain and her mouth is swollen but she is feeling a little better. I passed on all of your sage advice to her and she said to thank you! When I got back to the house I had a few espressos and then relaxed for a bit! Yes, caffeine has absolutely no effect on me… I wish it did!

I did squeeze in a little crafty time yesterday and the card that I made is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I have had an idea for the Hero Arts Cardinal Set for a while so I gave my idea a try, you’ll have to let me know what you think! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Bluejay Card Stock, subliminal I guess! For my background I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Vanilla and Butter Bar Ink to create a little sunny sky. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Intense Black. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The “bluejay” is from the Hero Arts Cardinal Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped him in Soft Granite, Cornflower, Navy and Intense Black. He and his feet are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The pine branches and pinecones are from the Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo and are stamped in Green Fields and Cup O Joe and also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered the pine branches with Dot Runner Adhesive and the pinecones and bluejay with 3D Foam Squares. It needed one more thing… oh yes… a few Pretty Pink Posh Cornflower, Mossy Green and Lemon Drop Sequins! I have to say that I really like the cardinal made to look like a bluejay and the background blended with the Hero Inks is just lovely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for coming by to see what I’ve been up to! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

    Mojo Monday 468

I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! Yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store we had our first Hand Lettering Class taught by the lovely Paula Andrea! I took the class and learned the basics, included in the class is an excellent workbook so we can all practice, and I’m going to need a lot! If you want to see some of Paula’s work you can find her on Instagram HERE! She was an excellent teacher and we can’t wait to have her back! After work I came home and saw my little buddy Daniel at my Parent’s for a bit before heading over to pick up Kim so that we could go to Govenor’s Comedy Club for the Fire Department Fundraiser. We met up with Brian and I got to see my friends Mike and Michelle who I haven’t seen in ages! It was nice to catch up with them! The last comedian of the night, Mick Thomas, was hysterical! I think that the Irish accent made him even funnier! What a nice way to end the weekend!

And it’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Of course I had to play with a new Mama Elephant set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Echo Park Wintertime 12×12 Collection. For the band across the lower half I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim off the lower part of a piece of Gold Mirror Card and added a strip of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper across it before adhering it to the card. That super cute “Charlie Brown” tree is from the new Mama Elephant O’ Tiny Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the trunk and branches in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink and colored in the image with Copics. The pine needles are stamped in Evergreen Crisp Ink. My lights and string are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder, the ornament hook in Platinum and the ornament in Gold. I colored in the lights and ornament in with Copics and added a generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ornament. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Up in the left corner is a piece of Black 110lb adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I hand cut the tag from more Gold Mirror Card and then added a Natural Twine bow to it before adhering it to the card with a Glue Dot. I’m totally in love with the little tree! Paper Craft Crew 213

And another week is just flying by! It’s Wednesday already! I did have another productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, got some more projects finished, made another card, checked in some more MISTI’s. Renee was off yesterday but stopped by to pick up some supplies so she could work on some stuff at home. After work it was the usual, dinner at my Parent’s and then home. I did replace my August Smart Lock with a new updated one that works with Apple’s HomeKit. Now I can just tell Siri to unlock my door! Oh how I love modern technology! I need to look into having the lights come on automatically when I get home too! Yes, I’m a geek at heart! LOL!

If it’s Wednesday then that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

    pcccs213-dt-sketch-9-27-2016

I had some fun with some new Hero goodies on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb to 4 x 5 1/4 and drew a line across it with a pencil to decided where I wanted to do my embossing. The top piece is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Puff Embossing Powder using the Hand Drawn Snowflakes Bold Prints Background Stamp. Once I had that done I cut off the lower portion and used the Hero Arts Paper Layering Snowflakes with Frame Cuts, I didn’t use the Frame Cut part, and ran it through my Artisan X-plorer a few times to cut out multiples of the same snowflake. I picked up the dimensional parts and then added 3D Foam Squares to both panels and adhered them to the card. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Christmas Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the card with more 3D Foam Squares. My 25 is cut from a piece of Champagne Curious Metallic using the Hero Arts Classic Numbers Frame Cuts and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium to the greeting strip. The snowflakes needed a little something so I added Pretty Pink Posh Platinum and Sparkling Clear Sequins to the middles and the card is done! I love those Paper Layering Snowflakes, so cool the way you just lift up some parts and that White Puff Embossing Powder is pretty neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! SIP Challenge 67 – A Sketch!

Yes, it was chilly here again yesterday! Where oh where did my summer go?! Of course, now the climate control in my car is working steadily! Well, I guess I will appreciate that when I actually need the heat! I had another very productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I made a card and managed to get all of my images stamped and Copic colored for the card for October Card Class! Renee also had a busy but productive day! Yay all around! I spoke to Anna from The Ink Pad for a bit, I’m going to stop by the store on Saturday to drop off some stuff. I’m going to the Mama Elephant event at Westbeth with Sandy and Sue! Woo hoo! A day in the city! Please say a little prayer that it doesn’t rain! When I got home I had dinner and then came to my house and die cut all of the images that I colored in at the store. Today I’ll assemble the cards, nice and early too! 😀

It’s Tuesday and that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

    sip-challenge-67-sketch

Some people see a rectangle, I see a tag! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Snowy Tree Stamp & Die Combo. The snowflakes are stamped directly onto the card front with Tide Pool. I added a strip of Dark Molasses across the lower middle. My tag is cut from Solar White 80lb using the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies. I stamped the trees onto the tag and an extra onto another piece of Solar White 80lb in Green Fields and the deer in Cup O Joe. The extra tree and deer are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the tag with 3D Foam Squares. I tied a piece of American Crafts Basic Light Green Twine through the top of the tag and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear and Sea Breeze Sequins are added for a little interest and the card is finished! I think that the Stamp Set has such fun images and the snowflakes are just so cool! LOL! Get it, cool snowflakes?! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Head on over to BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s awesome projects and we hope that we get to see your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by today! • Golden Watercolor Holly

    Golden Watercolor Holly

It was raining here in the morning on the way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, not top down weather. 🙁 But what a nice day we had. Crop days are always fun and busy! We had a new to stamping person stop by, I love to get to talk to them and give them helpful hints! Another one of my favorite things is when people bring some of their work into share with me! My friend Elyse brought in this scrapbook page…

    elyse-blue-fern-page

I love the page! The torn paper looks like water coming up onto the beach and the embossed chipboard elements are so cool! There is so much texture I just want to touch it! And, it’s in my favorite colors! Thanks for sharing Elyse! By the time I left to go home it was nice and sunny so I got to have the top down on the way home! There aren’t many top down days left, so sad to see Summer go! I relaxed when I got home, nice end to a fun day! How is your weekend going?

Now on to my craftiness for today! I have another Holiday card to share with you! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The holly is from the Hero Arts Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped them in Hero Arts Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Aquash Waterbrush to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Part of my greeting, from the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut Set, is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb and adhered over the holly with more 3D Foam Squares. The joy is from the same Joy Stamp & Die Set and is die cut from Gold Mirror Card and twice from Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the black strip with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of holly is then adhered next to the joy. To finish the card I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the holly berries and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Metallic Red Sequins. I love the holly, especially watercolored and the I think the black strip really makes the other elements pop! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for spending some of your Sunday with me! Have an amazing day! 🙂

Yes, it was another fun filled day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got all of my prep done for the Watercolor 101 Class! I also managed to get my card made for today too! Whoa! Look at me go! LOL! We had a few new people stop by the store and one decided that they would try this month’s card class! Love introducing new peeps to card making! I had a very relaxing ride home with the top down and the music up nice and loud. Dinner was my fave, homemade mac & cheese! After dinner I changed the cabin air filter in my car, it was black and clearly had never been changed. Yuck! The rest of the evening was nice and laid back. Today I want to start planning some future classes and get my thoughts in order for the Christmas Village classes!

Mid-week so that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch…

    PCCCS205 DT Sketch 8-03-2016

It’s Concord & 9th 1st Birthday this month! I used some of their goodies from the last release to create today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Joy from the Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lime Green and the snowflake and star from the O, Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Grape Juice and Soft Granite. The strip is backed with a piece of My Colors Lemon Lime and adhered to the card base. My shaker starts with a piece of Solar White 80lb. I stamped the Joy from the Joy Set in Grape Juice and cut it out with the Concord & 9th Joy Die. The snowflakes are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Granite and then I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts to cut it, a piece of Acetate and another piece of White out. The Acetate is adhered to the back of the die cut piece with Scor-Tape and some Foam Tape is added to the back. I then added some Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Sequin Mix, taking out the Silver and replacing them with Gold, to the well and adhered the backing to it. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto another piece of Lemon Lime. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the shaker. A snowflake is cut out from Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes Lawn Cuts and adhered to the right side of the banner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Amethyst Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the nice bright green with the purple, you know me and my non-traditional holiday cards, and I love that Joy stamp and die set! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery after you get some more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team! Thank you for paying me a visit today! SIP Challenge 56 – Christmas in July!

Another crazy Monday! The morning started off with a visit from Taylor and Kiera at 8:00AM! That’s a little too early for company! I do like to have my mornings to myself. I hurried to get ready and left the house around 9:00 to head over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. Once there I settled in to get my Newsletter finished and out! It was done by 11:00! Yay! The rest of the day I spent making parts for upcoming projects. I need to get into the habit of doing that! Renee left a little early, she’s still not 100%. Once 7:00 rolled around it was time for me to go. It was in the 70’s which makes for a very nice top down ride home in the car! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there along with my Brother and Erika. She thinks that today is the day! Fingers crossed that all goes well. After my little visit with them Heather came by and her and I ran to Target. She is going to have a procedure done on her back this morning. Fingers crossed for her too! I have a bunch of orders to get in for the store and some more projects to finish! Always a busy but great day!

Let’s see… Tuesday… ahh yes, that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Theme 56 800

Christmas in July! I still think that it’s a bit too early for Holiday cards but I guess better early than when I usually start to make them, around November! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Soft Sky to 5 1/4″ x 4″ and then used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals to cut out a window from it. Some Foam Tape is adhered to the back and then it’s adhered to the card. My Poinsettias are from one of last year’s My Monthly Hero Kits. I stamped them in Crimson Hybrid, Raspberry Jam, Red Royal, Butter Bar and Orange Soda for the flowers and Green Hills and Forever Green for the leaves. Some Glossy Accents is added over the flower centers and once they were dry I adhered them to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. My greeting is form the same set and is stamped in Red Royal right in the center of the oval! It needed something else so, yup, you guessed it, I added some Pretty Pink Posh Raspberry Sequins! I do love the blue background for the nice red flowers and sentiment, really makes is soft but bold! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Christmas in July Challenge! Make sure and stop by the BLOG and check out my fellow Designers cards and enter your in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂

The weather… it’s very warm but I think that it’s just perfect! There is always a nice breeze by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store due to our close proximity to the water. Some more orders arrived yesterday and they got entered and put out. My friend Robyn from Canada came in a got her very first Big Shot! I told her there is no turning back now! LOL! It was definitely a top down kind of day all day! It always makes any kind of ride in the car better, even the one home from the store! My Parent’s had a burger waiting for me when I got home and it was yummy! After dinner I ran over to see Heather. We just needed a night to ourselves! We did run out to BJ’s to pick up a few things. After a nice long chat I headed home to make my card for today. At the store I have my Heat Embossing 101 Class! You know how I like to heat emboss! They will be pro’s by the time we are finished!

The idea for my card for today popped into my head on the way home from Heather’s. It’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #302

Ahh, it seems like forever since I made a Christmas card! I could almost feel the chill in the air as I crafted last night, or that may have been the air conditioner! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out part of my background from a piece of Black 110lb Card. It cut off the bottom so that’s where I decided that I would heat emboss my sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the greeting with Dot Runner. The skyline is cut from some, yup, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card using the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die. I adhered that to the card with more Dot Runner, using the lower edge to cover the seam between the greeting and the top part of the background. My tree is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Lime Green, Green Hills and Forever Green with the final layer heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and some Foam Tape holds it in place! A nice simple card that reminds me of the tree in Rockefeller Center at Christmas time! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Christmas in July challenge! Thank you for taking a little time to come by and see me today! I wish you a Merry… wait… too early! LOL! I wish you all a wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Now that was a long day! It was sort of overcast for most of it and rained a little here and there but everyday can’t be sunny! Another super busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I had more orders come in and Sue was there to help once again! Some people took the June Lawn Fawn Card Class in the morning and got first dibs on the new goodies! My friend Stephanie stopped by for a bit too! What a nice surprise that was! Sue and I also moved some stuff around to make room for all of the new Hero Arts that came in. Danielle text me at 6:10 to tell me that she was at Blaze Pizza and asked if I wanted anything, yes please! She brought the pizzas to the store and I shared mine with Brian. Last nights class was so much fun! We did it a different way and I think that it went a bit better. They all got packs with all the supplies to make the cards and then went and stamped, colored and cut out what they needed to sitting back down to assemble everything! This month’s cards were not easy ones and every did a fantastic job making them! By the time we were finished it was 10:45! Brain helped clean up and then I stayed and chatted with Danielle until 11:30. Boy do I miss her!! A very long day but so much fun! I’m all set for day two of classes! Can’t wait to share more of the fun!

The card that I have to share with you today is actually one that I made a few days ago! It’s good to have one in my stash just in case! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. Before adhering it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner I adhered a strip of Vellum around the left side. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Onyx Black on more Desert Storm 80lb and cut them out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts, the greeting is cut out with my Scissors. They are then adhered to the Vellum Strip with Foam Tape. We all know that I love a woodgrain background but embossed in Copper and it gets even better! I hope that you like my simple Father’s Day card for today! Thank you two much for visiting! Have a phenomenal Friday! 🙂

    Dapper Father’s Day

I know, you are probably sick of hearing of the nice weather we have been having is but it was another gorgeous day again! I went over to the store in the morning and hung out with Renee and Angie. I also got a card made that I gave to Sharon, Sue’s daughter for her Graduation party, I’ll share that with you later in the week. From the store I headed over to the party in Rockville Center. It was at Kasey’s Kitchen on the roof! A very nice venue with good food. I got to meet a lot of Sue’s family and spent some time chatting with her husband Joe and her sister. After the party I headed back to the house for a bit and then went over to Neal and Stephanie’s for a little impromptu BBQ. Brian, Kim and the kiddies were there along with Adam and Erin and their daughter. It was a fun time and I was home by 8:30. I watched some YouTube and then made my card before calling it a night. Today the store is closed so I’m going to make a valiant effort to make cards and get ahead for the week!

Speaking of getting ahead the card that I made last night is a Father’s Day card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. All of the images and greetings are from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set. I drew some pencil lines across a piece of Solar White 80lb and stamped the Happy Father’s Day in Hero Arts Wet Cement. Next up I cut out another piece of Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cuts and heat embossed the Love You in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Then I adhered a piece of Vellum to the back. Some Foam Tape is adhered around the edges and then it’s adhered to the card. The images are all stamped in Onyx Black and cut out with my Scissors. A little more Foam tape adheres them to the Vellum and the card is done! I love the retro feel of the stamp set and fun images! I’m also impressed that I got a Father’s Day card made this early! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂
