Freshly Made Sketches 311

Happy Friday! What a nice day it was yesterday! Sunny and warm! Manhattan was great, I had a nice visit with Diane and then went up to the Isabel O’Neil Studio to help out Beth with a few things. Kim and I went to Schnipper’s for lunch and had some pretty good burgers. I also walked everywhere about 65 blocks! Last night we had another meeting for the fundraiser next week and then Jim and I grabbed a quick dinner and I came home. I got a haircut this morning and now I going to call my friend Greg. Shaping up to be a pretty good Friday! πŸ˜€

I did manage to squeeze in a card this morning and it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I grabbed my Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and my MISTI to stamp a panel with Black Licorice. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb and then adhered that to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Another piece of Black 110lb is embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wave Next Level Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My greeting is stamped in Black Licorice onto a piece of Solar White 110lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die. That is adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! Simple black and white makes for an elegant Christmas card, don’t you agree?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for coming by! Have a fantastic Friday! πŸ™‚

WOW! It’s cold here this morning! In the 30’s… way too cold for me! I had a pretty productive day yesterday, got to speak to my friend Greg in Indiana for a bit. Always good to catch up with him! I also got a bunch of laundry done and around 9:00 last night I realized that it was Halloween! I guess we didn’t have very many trick-or-treaters. This morning we will figure out where the horrible smell of gasoline is coming from in my apartment. I think something leaked in the garage, not pleasant. I keep having to run outside and it’s too cold for that now! LOL! πŸ˜€

Mid-week and time for a new challenge over on the Paper Craft Crew blog…

Today’s card was started by stamping the Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used Minty Fresh for the background and then filled in the images with Lobster, Cranberry, Sunflower and Noble Fir. The Coordinating Die cuts out one of the flower clusters, I saved what was left to use on a future project. Next up I used the squished hexagon Die from the Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Dies to cut out a piece of Desert Storm 80lb. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Noble Fir. To my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a strip of Chili Pepper across the lower half and then adhered my hexagon and flower cluster with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I used another one of the Dies to cut out a piece of Noble Fir and tucked the little leaves under my hexagon. For something a little different I added a few Theresa Collins Santa’s List Enamel Dots to finish the card. I do love that Blooms Fill-In Stamp! It’s such a neat idea! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more to see over on the BLOG so be sure and stop by! Thank you for coning by to see me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

Paper Players 368

Hi there my friends and a happy Monday to you from rainy Long Island! I had a very nice weekend starting on Friday by picking up Jim’s new couch and setting it up in his den. Saturday he came by and we worked on the kitchen cabinets. It’s a lot more work than I originally anticipated but he was a huge help and we got a lot done! Still a lot more to go but we’ll get there! Yesterday was rainy and windy, one of those sit on the couch and watch TV kind of days. This morning I’ll be heading over to see Heather for a bit, can’t wait to get out of the house! LOL! πŸ˜€

I got up this morning and made my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I went down the first column! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Tropical Sea cut to 4″ wide. I stamped the dots from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set In Yeti Ink. The tree is cut from Silver Glitter Card using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Ornamental Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of 65lb Vellum. I adhered the tree to the background and then the Vellum around the back before adding it to my card base. A few Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins finish the card! Teal and Silver make a pretty nice holiday combo and I love that big sparkly tree! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for staring your week off here with me! Have an awesome Monday! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 310

Another somewhat gloomy fall like day yesterday. I worked on a bunch of projects in the morning and squeezed in a little TV too. Last night I went over to Jim’s and we met up with Laura and Michelle and went over to the venue for the fundraiser to check out and brainstorm a few ideas. After that we went and had dinner, it’s nice to get to meet really nice people and Laura and Michelle are just that! This morning I have some projects to complete and then who know what I’ll be up to later! πŸ˜€

Today I have a card to share with you for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I’m really loving that Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Stamp! I used Black Licorice and my Mini MISTI to stamp the background and then filled the images in withΒ JalapeΓ±o, Noble Fir, Merman, Peacock and Sunflower. There are two flower clusters on the background that you can cut out with the Coordinating Dies, I cut one of them out. Then I trimmed the leftover and adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Peacock. I added that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The cut out flower cluster is then adhered with 3D Foam Squares and the card is done! I’m having so much fun with that background that I left it in my MISTI so I can stamp a few more later! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your Thursday everyone! πŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 265

It started out gloomy in the morning yesterday and then was sunny in the afternoon. The evening however delivered the rain and wind as promised! We even had a little thunder and lighting. I had a semi-productive day, got some things accomplished in the morning and did a little cleaning. Taylor came by last night and we watched a few episodes of DC Legends of Tomorrow, so nice to spend time with the child! This morning it’s a little gloomy but should clear up. I have some errands to run and then a meeting later about a charity event on November 12th that I’m volunteering for. Good times! πŸ˜€

Mid-week and time for a new Paper Craft Crew challenge…

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp with some Merman Ink and a piece of Mermaid Card Stock with my Mini MISTI to create the background. It’s adhered to the card in the lower right askew to match the sketch. The tree is cut from a piece of Peacock using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Dies. I heat embossed the greeting from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered the tree to the card with 3M Foam Tape. For a little pop of color I used the star die from the Trim the Tree Dies and attached that to the top of the tree with more 3M Foam Tape. A simple card using one of my favorite Holiday color combos! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG and we hope that you will share your card with us in the gallery! I appreciate you stopping by today! Have a wild Wednesday! πŸ™‚

Christmas Blooms

Ahh… happy Friday peeps! It’s been cooler here but sunny and pleasant so no complaining! Yesterday turned out to be a busy day. I did get a bunch of things done in the morning. Then in the afternoon I got an email from IKEA that the couch that I have been waiting to get was on sale so Jim and I took my Dad’s truck and picked it up. We stopped and got dinner on the way back and had that before embarking on the couch assembly. It didn’t take too long and I’m really happy with it! It is also a sleeper so when my cousin comes from London again she will have someplace to stay! We finished off the evening with a little TV, enjoying the new seating! This morning I will be cutting up the three huge boxes that it came in and seeing if there is anyone that wants the old one! πŸ˜€

I have a just because card for you today! I wanted to give the new Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Stamp a try! I inked it up with JalapeΓ±o in my MISTI and stamped it three times onto piece of Solar White 80lb. Next I used Cranberry, Lobster, Noble Fir and Sunflower to stamp the fill-in images and added it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the greeting I used the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die to cut out another piece of Sailor White 80lb. The words are from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Noble Fir. All that was left to do was to use some 3D Foam Squares to add it to my card! I have to say that the Blooms Fill-In Stamp is pretty neat! A fun background in any colors that you can imagine! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you so much for coming but to visit with me! Have a fantastic Friday! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 309

I don’t think that the internet is enjoying the shift to cooler weather, it’s painfully slow here lately! I did had a very productive day yesterday despite my little three hour trip into Manhattan to drop off Taylor. She was little anxious but after 6 hours of travel she made it safely to her destination. We also finally got one of the contractors to send an estimate for the work on Jim’s PA house. Things move at a very different pace up there! This morning I’m going to try and check a few more things off my to-do list and then Jim will be by later for dinner! πŸ˜€

My little bit of craftiness yielded my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge…

To start my card I stamped the large flower from the Concord & 9th Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Fresh Lavender and Sugarplum using my Mini MISTI so I could double stamp. The flower is cut out with the Coordinating Die. Onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock trimmed to 4″ wide I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card and then the flower. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto 65lb Vellum. I used the squashed hexagon die from the Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In Dies to cut out the greeting. The right edge is folded over and adhered to the inside of the card with a few dots of Multi-Matte Medium behind the heat embossing to keep it in place. A simple card with that awesome huge flower! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks so much for coming by! Have an interesting Thursday! πŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 264

Hey there peeps! Mid-week already! I managed to get a bunch of stuff done yesterday, some computer stuff in the morning and a little cleaning in the afternoon. I do so love a productive day! Had a little dinner with my Parent’s, Dad is doing much better. I saw Taylor for a bit, she is going to Massachusetts to see a friend and has never taken Amtrak before so I get to go into Manhattan this morning and put her on the train and then come back home. Good times! LOL! πŸ˜€

Today’s card is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I felt a little Deja Vu! Typically Halloween colors but not for me! LOL! I stamped the ornament from the Concord & 9th Ornamental Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and the merry and bright with Carrot using my Mini MISTI. The image is then colored in with Copics. For the ornament topper I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Concord & 9th Ornamental Dies. The middles of the flowers have a little Singo Gold Gel Pen. The background looked a little plain so I added dots with pen, one of my favorite ways to fill in a background! Yes, it’s not your typical red and green but it’s still merry and bright! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! You can stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your in the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 308

A rainy dreary morning here on Long Island but I had a very nice day yesterday! It was fun to see Ella and Tom. Lunch with my friend Kim was great and the weather was perfect! Taylor retrieved me from the station and dropped me off at home. Mum didn’t know what to make for dinner so I ran to the store with her and then the evening was finished with an early Thirsty Thursday and a late night trip to Target! I got up with the intentions of making my card this morning but I have been reading the new Dan Brown book Origins and can’t put it down! It’s fantastic! I have some cleaning and laundry to do this morning and then who knows?! πŸ˜€

I did finally get a card made and it’s for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the Lawn Fawn Say Cheese Lawn Cut to cut out a piece of DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper. After adhering a strip of Smoky Slate across the lower half of the card I added the frame. My butterfly is cut from some Gold Glitter Card using the Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter Dies. To adhered that to the card I used a little piece of 3M Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies and is cut from a piece of Silver Glitter Card and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I do so enjoy making a card using only dies ever so often, changes it up a bit! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for stopping by! Have an awesome Thursday! πŸ™‚
