Mojo Monday 458

Of we go into another week! My weekend was great! My friend Barbara came out to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to visit! We had Panera for lunch and then hung out at the store. Around 4:30 we headed out, I wanted to stop home and drop off my bags. When we got to the house my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristen were at my parents! I finally got a peek at the new baby! Barbara got to meet everyone including Winston. From there we made our way into Manhattan, lots of traffic as always on a Sunday evening. By the time I found a parking space it was 7:00. Barbara and I said our goodbyes and I headed over to see Kim Doi. Once there I spoke to Michael for a bit and so did Kim. I helped Kim with her new rug and some electronics goodies that she had gotten and then we went out for Mexican food. The place we ate at was called Oaxaca Taqueria on 1st and 64th. The food was excellent and I haven’t had really good Mexican in a while! After dinner we went back to Kim’s and I shared my latest YouTube obsession, Troy Miller, with her. Watching him just make me smile! I started to head back to the car around 11:40. There was a big accident by Laguardia so that delayed me a little but I still made it home by 12:45 and I got to do one of my favorite things, drive back home from the city with the top down at night in my car! Today I have to get all of my orders in for the new Holiday goodies that are coming out! Fun!

The best way to start off a new week is with a new Mojo Monday Sketch…

Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The first layer of my background is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My piece of patterned paper is from the Dear Lizzy Documentary 6×6 Paper Pad. I backed it with a piece of Black 110lb and adhered that to the card. Another piece of paper from the same pad is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The two banners are Pistachio Pudding and Daffodil Delight and my triangle is Sweet Sugarplum that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames Lawn Cuts. The banners and triangle are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The image is colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and the body is stamped in Onyx Black. I used the dies to cut them both out and adhered the butterfly to the card with another piece of Foam Tape. Right before I adhered the butterfly I stamped the greeting in Onyx Black. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Pink Peony, Tangerine and Lemon Drop Sequins completes the card! I love my Gansai Tambi Watercolors, they have such a nice rich pigment to them and I think they really make the butterfly pop! Mojo Monday 457

Well, that was a busy Sunday! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was very busy for a Sunday! We had some visitors from up-state New York and Melissa and her Mum came by to do the cards for this month’s class. My Mum and Dad stopped by too! I had a raging headache in the morning but thankfully two Excedrin did the trick to get rid of that. Well, that and the 8 cups of coffee that I had over the course of the day! It was another hot one too! Nice warm days make me appreciate my car even more! Dad changed the oil in the morning so she’s good for another 3,000 miles! I had dinner with my Parent’s and then I came home and worked on my card for today and took a nap! I was so tired all day! Today Renee has some people for a kid’s class and I have a Notions order arriving , I also need to place some more orders too! Oh how I thoroughly enjoy my job!

How do we love to start off the week? Why with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

My card starts of with the usual base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and added a strip of Watermelon Wonder across the lower half. The large stitched panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Woodgrain Card. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to color it and then die cut it using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The smaller square is another piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background in Cup O Joe Ink. I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. The pineapple, flowers and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Pineapple Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the pineapple in Butter Bar and Caramel Hybrid Ink for the bottom and Lime Green, Field Green and Forever Green for the leaves. The flowers are stamped in Passion Flower and Grape Soda with a little Memento Tuxedo Black for the centers. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Perfect Plum and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I know, you were waiting for the sequins! LOL! Well I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Shamrock and Lemon Drop ones! I think that pineapple and the flowers are so neat and the greeting is just great! Mojo Monday 456

Oh yes, day two of the crop was just as much fun as the first day! I love sitting there and chatting with everyone! We do have a good time and lots of laughs! Today for lunch was yummy salad pizza and then a little treat… some ice cream with lots of toppings! When I left the store at 5:00 I headed over to see my friend Chantal! I haven’t seen her in almost a year! It was her granddaughter Chloe’s Birthday so I went over for dinner. There were some more peeps there and we had a very nice time! By the time I got home it was 9:00, I retrieved Winston from my Parent’s and finished up my card for today. I had started the card at the store just stamping the background. Sometime you just need to stamp and a background is a fun way to do just that! Today I have some more ordering to do for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, I’m running out of room! LOL!

It’s the start of another week and that means a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set in Pale Tomato, Dark Quartz, Soft Pink and Tide Pool onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. The background is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I then die cut a piece of Strawberry Slush with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares and Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and is adhered to the square with Multi-Matte Medium. The square is then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Tide Pool onto a piece of Solar White 110lb. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered in the upper left and lower right corners, keeping with the sketch! I love the different combination of colors for the background and the way that the sold card stock slightly mutes it! Mojo Monday 455 & MMH Sneak Peek 4!

Happy 4th of July to my American friends! I hope that you all have some fun stuff planned for today! I’ll be heading over to Brian & Kim’s for a BBQ later on. Yesterday was another lovely day here! I got up late and went to get Heather so we could take a ride to The Apple Store. Her iPhone has been acting up so she wanted to get it checked out. They suggested… yes… a restore! I could have told her that! LOL! From there we went over to see Kim and the kiddies for a bit and enjoyed some pizza for lunch! I had said that I wanted to run into Manhattan quickly to pick something up from Isabella so Heather and I hopped in the Convertible and made our way in. The traffic was pretty light going in and we found a parking space on the street. I got to say hello to Diego who was there enjoying his sports on TV! He just got back from a bike trip in the Pyrenees! How cool is that?! The traffic on the way home was a little heavier but not too bad. I dropped Heather back off at George’s and then came home and got some of my cleaning started. There is a lot more to do but I did make a little dent! Phew! That was a busy day!

It’s always best to start off the week with a new Mojo Monday sketch, don’t you agree…

This is also day 4 of my sneak peeks of the July My Monthly Hero Kit! I decided that I needed to use the jellyfish again. I just think that they are such pretty ethereal creatures! To start my card I used a piece of the Metallic Teal Card Stock that comes in the Kit, cut it to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and used a stitched Rectangle to cut out my window. I put that on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and traced so I would know just where to stamp the jellyfish. He is stamped in Hero Arts Tide Pool for the first layer and heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder for the second. I added some Foam Tape to the back of my Teal piece, sprinkled in some of the Little Things by Lucy Exclusive Sequins Mix included in the Kit and then added my back panel to create my shaker. In the upper right is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I used a stitched circle to cut out and in the lower right is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb, heat embossed with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp and some Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The greeting is from the main stamp set in the kit also and is heat embossed in more Gold onto some Black 110lb. All of the pieces are adhered to the shaker and then that is attached to a base of Solar White 110lb to finish the card! I do really love that jellyfish and I think that he looks quite neat with his little shaker bits! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! And off we go to the start of another week! I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend! It was just Angie and me at the Stamp, Ink, Paper inside Scrap-A-Latte Store yesterday. We got lots done, I even made a card or two! I worked on my upcoming classes and added a few more in August and September. We have my buddy Ken Oliver coming to teach in August, that should be fun! When I got home I had dinner with my Parents and then ran to Target to get some things that I forgot the other day. I really to make a list instead of thinking that I can remember what I need! I get easily distracted in that store! LOL! The rest of the evening I did some computer stuff and then just relaxed for bit! I needed that! Today I have to work on my newsletter for the store and make sure that I get ahead on my cards for the week too! One week that will actually happen!

The start of a new week always means a wonderful new sketch from the Mojo Monday blog…

I inked up a new to me set for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I wanted a subtle background just not a white one! The large partial circle is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background on with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. To cut out the circle I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. Across the lower half is a piece of yes, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card! I flagged the left side before adhering that to the card. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flower, leaves and berries are all from the Altenew Peony Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Ink with my Mini MISTI. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. On the leaves and berries I used my Versa-Marker to draw on some lines and colored in the berries and then heat embossed them with more Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The leaves and berries are adhered to the rectangle with Multi-Matte Medium and the flower with Foam Tape. Finally, my greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ve said it before, I love a woodgrain background with a flower, I just think it looks so nice! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Hello my people and welcome to the beginning of another week! I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend and that you got to spend some time with family! I woke up super late yesterday! I think that the previous three days finally caught up with me! I had to help out my neighbor with his new printer before I headed over to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. It was another lovely day here on Long Island so it was a top down day all day! Angie, Renee and I got some things done and I left the store around 1:00 to head out to my brother’s to spend Father’s day with him, and the rest of the family! Here is a picture of Taylor, Me, my Dad, my Brother Jason and little Daniel!

Three generations of Krieger’s! Jason made a really good dinner and Erika made my favorite, Couscous! Around 5:15 I headed back home to let Winston out and I ran a few errands before coming back to make my card for today and then work on some orders for the store! I have my Intro to Altenew this Thursday so I have to get ready for that!

Starting off another week my favorite way… playing along wth the rest of the Design Team for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

My obsession with ink blending and stamp layering sets continues! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I masked off where the two diagonal pieces of paper would go and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and applied some Mermaid Lagoon to the bottom and Mustard Seed to the top. After I removed the mask I adhered a piece of Hello Honey and Tangerine Tango for my diagonal pieces. A few clusters of grass are stamped in Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink. The center panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I added some Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade to after I cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts. It’s then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. That gorgeous Flamingo is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp it in Pale Tomato, Unicorn White and heat set that, White Dye Ink and heat set that and then stamped the final layer in Ultra Pink. The beak, eye and legs are stamped in Intense Black and then he’s die cut with the Coordinating Frame Cut and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of 46lb Vellum. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. Yup, I just had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Pumpkin and Marigold Sequins! Another weekend for the books. It was day two of the crop and I managed to get a bunch of stuff done while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper store despite my sleeping very late! By the way, the new Sleep Number bed… extremely comfortable! I do have a lot of fun seeing the ladies put together their layouts and I like sharing my cards with them. In fact I sold a card in the morning! We all discussed the tragic news of the shooting at the nightclub in Orlando. I have stopped trying to figure out the world that we live in. I make the most of every day, you never know what can happen. When you really take time to think about what goes on all over this planet it’s pretty sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of that senseless tragedy. I hope that things like this make you hug your family and friends a little tighter for just a little bit longer. Now on to happier things, like placing orders and keeping people crafty! That’s what I’ll be doing!

Today I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch…

I had stamped my fish on Saturday and decided that he really needed to be on a card, that’s where today’s card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Waffle Flower Doily Circle Die from a piece of Deep Blue and adhered it to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My larger panel is a piece of Snow Cone that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card is cut out with a die that I found in a drawer in the back, how’s that for a description?! I adhered that to the main panel with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Deep Blue also cut out with the Cross Stitched Squares. I added some bubbles from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Red Royal and Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the first layer over the image with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder. The seaweed is stamped in Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink and the bubbles in Unicorn White. I adhered the goldfish to the card with Foam Tape and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins… done! Hey peeps! How was the weekend?! I enjoyed mine thoroughly! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was busy yesterday despite the gloomy weather and the brief torrential downpour that we had! I got my newsletter done and started working on my little pamphlet for the Stamping 101 Class on the 9th. By the time I left the store the sun had come out for a little bit so the drive home was nice. I had Chinese food with my parents for dinner and then Brian came by and helped me with my new mattress. I got a Sleep Number bed, hoping that I can find my number quickly and enjoy all of the great things that I have heard about it! I’ll let you know how that goes! Today I will get my pamphlet finished and start working on new orders and some more administrative stuff. Oh how I love my job!!

It’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog with the rest of the Design Team for this week’s sketch…

This was one of those cards that got assembled in my head while I was at the store! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I ran one of them through the Big Shot a second time with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tools, Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover Distress Ink for the Grass and Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass for the sky. Some water is flicked on the sky piece and dabbed off with a paper towel then the grass is adhered to the bottom and the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The sun is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. My clouds are cut out from Solar White 80lb with the the Lawn Fawn Simple Puffy Clouds and then some Silver Glitter Paper is cut out with the coordinating Simple Puffy Clouds Frames. I used some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere the frames to the clouds and then adhered all three of them to the card. My images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Yay, Kites Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my Copics to color then in and stamped the hello in Memento Tuxedo Black. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The kite and bunny are adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the hello with Multi-Matte Medium. To compete the card I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the simple and fun images in the Yay, Kites set, especially against that Distress Ink background! Mojo Monday 450

Another sunny day here yesterday, a little on the humid side but that’s because our streak of luck has run out! It’s supposed to rain all day today. Oh well, it was great while it lasted! I spent the day crafting, actually getting a little ahead! I managed to make three cards! Yippie! I also had to go for a ride and enjoy the weather so I headed over to Barnes & Noble in search of a magazine but I alas they didn’t have it. I’ll have to see if I can stop by one in Manhattan today, that’s where I’m headed. I guess I’ll have to be sure and bring my umbrella, wonder where that is?! Oh Happy Memorial Day to all my peeps in the states, it’s going to be a washout here but hopefully you will have nice weather where you are and get to enjoy a BBQ with your friends and family!

Today, like every Monday, lucky boy that I am, I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Love a Tall & Skinny!! My card base is Neenah Solar White 100lb Card stock. For my background I stamped a piece of Melon Mambo with the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background using Hero Arts Raspberry Jam Ink. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card and my greeting, along with all of my images, is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Flower for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting on a piece of 46lb Vellum and wrapped it around the panel before adhering it to the card with E-Z Runner. The flag is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the outline of the flower image stamped in Ultra Pink and that’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The main flower is stamped in Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam with the leaves stamped in Lawn Fawn Freshly Cut Grass Ink and Forever Green. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and adhered the leaves with Dot Runner and the flower with Foam Tape. Around the top I tied a piece of American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine in a bow to finish the card. I love that Flowers for You Set and the fun Confetti Background! Mojo Monday 449

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good except for the water issue in the bathroom yesterday morning! I walked in the carpet was wet along with the bottom of the shower curtain?! I called my neighbor upstairs and he came down and assessed the scene. He decided he knew what it was and got parts and fixed it. I had to shower at my parent’s so I won’t know if he was successful until I get in there today! Hopefully he was! At the store I worked on getting things organized and making some loyalty cards and other design related things. Angie worked on an Art Journaling page that is just awesome and Renee worked on her layouts for classes. Love all of the creativity! I forgot to bring crafty stuff with me so I spent a little time making my card when I got home. It’s hard to know what to bring with you when you leave in the morning! Especially when you are thrown off by a bathroom fiasco! LOL! Today I’ll be getting the rest of the Lawn Fawn order and hopefully some other stuff that I ordered! I’m really having a lot of fun, can you tell?!

Now on to the business at hand! Today’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge…

I have had the stamp set that I used on today’s card for a L O N G time! It’s ’bout time that I inked it up! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and adhered that to the front of the card. My patterned paper is from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad and is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. The strip down the right side is a piece of Midnight Muse on top of a piece of Gold Mirror Card. The square and strip are both adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting and retro phone are both from the Hero Arts Just Saying Hi Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them both in Onyx Black and heat embossed the phone with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The phone is cut out with Scissors and a craft knife, I need a little more practice with the knife, and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. When I saw that piece of patterned paper it reminded me of wallpaper from the 50’s so I thought that it went well with the phone!
