Paper Craft Crew 121

Mid-week already, not too bad! Work was pretty good yesterday, too. There was an errand involved and we know how much I love that. After work, I came home and retrieved the dog, then ran out to get some pizza so Andrew and I could have dinner before we went to the movies. We picked up Brian and headed to Broadway Mall to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Andrew had mentioned that they had redone the theater recently, but I hadn’t been there since the renovation. I don’t think I’ll be able to go to another theater ever again because this one was just so great.

Here’s a picture of Andrew enjoying the comfort…

AndrewBwayMovie

And here’s a nice view of the seats we got to sit in…

BwayMovieSeats

Big, comfortable, and they recline! It’s just like being in your living room! The movie was good. It stayed pretty true to the book, except…SPOILER ALERT…they included the entire rescue scene. That’s not a bad thing, because they executed it well. So yes, I would recommend going to see it. If you do, though, don’t take Andrew with you. He doesn’t like cliffhangers and was not very happy at the end of the movie considering it was part 1, even though he knew what to expect. 😉

If it’s Wednesday, we know that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS121 Sketch 12-03-2014

I stayed very true to the sketch, but had a lot of fun with the card. My base for today’s card is Basic Black Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Daffodil Delight and randomly heat embossed the stars from the Be The Star Stamp Set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut out a piece of Whisper White with the Labels Collection Framelits and used my homemade sunburst stencil to sponge on some Daffodil Delight. The greeting and @ sign are from the #hello Stamp Set. Both are heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black. The @ sign is punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the #missyoumore. Tucked under the #missyoumore is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. Three stars from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set are heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few random rhinestones in the top left and bottom right finish off the card. I don’t know what it is, but I really like this card. Fun, basic colors with a little sparkle and shine! I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Now head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch. I appreciate you stopping by and hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

And today is Friday for me! Yippee! I actually think that my entire department is off on Friday! I’m hoping to have a productive 4 day weekend. I really need to get my house organized and cleaned up! Today was another quiet day at the office and when I got to my parent’s house little Daniel was there with his little boo boo. He is so funny, I don’t think that he even knows its there. He is still running all over the place with abandon! He goes to get his stitches out on Friday and they will see if there is anything else that needs to be done. He is always such a happy boy as you can see from this picture…

Daniel Stitches

He is growing up so fast! He’ll be talking before too long, he tries to now and gets a little annoyed when you don’t know what he’s saying! After dinner I made my card and then Heather and I went to the shoe store, MJM. I needed some new shoes desperately! I got a pair of boots and two pairs of Ben Sherman dress shoes. One pair is blue suede with red laces! Fun!

Michael has another post using that really cool bird stencil! I think this is the most he has posted in a while! Keep on going over to see what he is up to! You can see the card HERE! 🙂

It’s Wednesday and that means that it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS120 Sketch 11-26-2014

I saw that vast space in the middle and thought shaker card! LOL! The base for today’s card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. To make the front shaker portion I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate. I also cut out the Window Sheet and the window with them too. The city skyline is from the Calling All Heroes Photopolymer Stamp Set and the sleigh is from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set, both are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered some of the Frosted Sequins that I used to fill the shaker part to the background so all of the sequins don’t fall to the bottom. My greeting is from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The flags are punched from some Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Banner Punch and the strip is Basic Black. Some assembly and a few more Frosted Sequins and the card is done. I am still loving that stitched detail from the Lawn Fawn dies, it adds just a little extra! And there you have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and enter yours in the gallery! I hope that you like my card and that you all have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Wow! It’s Wednesday already! Not too bad and I just remembered that Thanksgiving is next week! Yes, I have been in my own little world lately! Where has this year gone?! It was very cold here today, in the 30’s! It always happens too fast don’t you think? I was in a t-shirt last week, today a sweater. I am so not a fan of the winter, but what can you do? Of course since it got cold Taylor thought that it was the perfect time to put her new car stereo in at 7:30 last night. So not only cold but pretty dark too! I did get it finished and she was a happy little camper. The rest of my evening was spent listening to music and thinking way too much. A way to pass the time I guess! LOL! Thank you again for your wonderful comments! I could say it every day and it still wouldn’t be enough! 🙂

Wednesday, well that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS119 Sketch 11-19-2014

For some unknown reason as soon as I saw the sketch I thought of an image and had to go digging to find it! The card base for today is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I used a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. Next up is a piece of the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper backed with a piece of Basic Black. A piece of Silver Foil Sheet punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch goes in the upper left and some Basic Black Baker’s Twine is wrapped around three times and tied in a bow off to the side. I adhered the background to the base with some SNAIL. The image is from the “Vintage” All Aboard Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler. I backed it with some Cherry Cobbler and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love that image of the train and it works so well for a Christmas card! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Head on over to the blog to see what the other designers have for your inspiration and enter your card in the gallery for us to see! Thank you all so much for spending a little time with me today! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

The week is moving along, it’s Wednesday already! It was another nice day here yesterday, warm and sunny. Work was uneventful which is just how I like it. Little Daniel went and got his first haircut yesterday, as if he wasn’t cute enough! He’ll be a year old on Friday. His mom said that he looks like a little boy now, especially when he’s running all over the place! Here he is with his spiffy new do…

Daniel Haircut

Looks a little like my haircut! After dinner Andrew stopped by for a bit and we caught up, it’s been a little while since I have seen him, we have both been really busy. We vowed to make sure that we put the busy aside so that it isn’t another two weeks before we see each other again. Not too bad for a Tuesday at all!

If it’s Wednesday then that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS118 Sketch 11-12-2014

I felt the need to watercolor again last night and today’s card is an odd size, it’s 4 3/4 x 4 3/4, definitely not a size that I have made before but I have my Envelope Punch Board to make my envelope so it’s all good. The base for the card is a piece of “Vintage” Cherry Cobbler Core’dinations Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sahara Sand. My panel in the middle is a piece of paper from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack and is backed with some Early Espresso with a piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow. All of my images are from the An Open Heart Stamp Set. The branch is stamped in Mossy Meadow and the bird and greeting in Early Espresso, both on Watercolor Paper. I used a paintbrush with water to pull ink from the stamped images and color them in. Some Cherry Cobbler on the bird and branch and some Crushed Curry for the beak enhance the detail a bit. It’s mounted to a piece of Mossy Meadow and adhered to the main panel with SNAIL. Two more pieces of the DSP are punched out with the Banner Punch and tucked under the main panel. The greeting is stamped in the lower left and completes the card. I really do love the watercoloring using the ink from the stamped images, it’s a nice easy way to get a pretty cool look! And there you have my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the other designers have dome with the sketch and enter your project in the gallery so we can see your take. Here we are winding our way into Wednesday already. My week has been pretty good so far. Last night I went with Heather to look at an apartment. It had, as the realtor stated, a very unique bathroom. The toilet and sink were in one room and the shower was on the other side in another room. The only problem was that you had to walk through the kitchen to get to the shower! That’s not unique that just odd! After, we headed over to Brian and Kim’s for Taco night. Michael joined us and we played some Cards Against Humanity. Neither Heather nor Michael had played before and they really enjoyed the game! It’s always nice to just sit there and laugh with friends! What a nice way to end the day! 🙂

If it’s Wednesday then that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Here is your inspiration for this week…

PCCCS117 Sketch 11-05-2014

I was in the mood for some Bermuda Bay, I haven’t used that color in a long time and it’s one of my favorites! Today’s card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Bermuda Bay that is embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The panel on the left is piece of paper from the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper pack backed with some Whisper White. Across the middle of the card is a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. My stars are from the Many Merry Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set from the Holiday Supplement Catalog, the larger one is stamped in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White and the smaller on is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Bermuda Bay. They are both cut out with the Stars Framelits Dies and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I choose the greeting from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped it in Bermuda Bay on a piece of Whisper White, flagged the right, and tucked it under the right side of the panel. Three little crystal sequins adhered above the glimmer paper complete the card. I think that piece of DSP from the Motley Monsters DSP pack is my favorite, just goes to show that there is much more than just Halloween paper in there! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Don’t forget to stop by the blog and see what the other designers have for you for inspiration and let’s see your take, upload your card to the gallery. Thanks very much for taking a little time to come by and see me! Enjoy your Wednesday! 🙂

Happy Monday! I had a wonderful weekend! Saturday I went to Trenton, NJ for a rubber stamp show. It’s the first one that I have been to and it was pretty neat to see all of the different companies that I have never heard of before. I went with Michael and his best friend Sue and her sister Arlene. We met up with their friends Gail and Debbie and wandered around for a few hours. After that we went to Hobby Lobby. I don’t know if any of you have ever been to a Hobby Lobby but they pretty much have anything that you can think of and I mean anything. I picked up a few things that I have been eyeing for a while and even found some stuff that was on clearance that I wanted. We stopped at Red Robin for dinner and then headed home. Here are a few pictures, the first one is Michael and I and the next one is all of us.

Michale & I NJ

The Gang RSS NJ

Yesterday I was in Manhattan seeing some friends. Michael had to work at the Ink Pad so we drove in together. I went to see Penny and Joe over on the West Side for a bit. I had forgotten that the NYC Marathon was yesterday so when I finished up at their house I tried to get a cab to go back over to the East side. That took about 15 minutes! I did finally get over and stopped to see Jim and Isabella for a bit and then headed down to the Ink Pad to wait for Michael to get off of work. We took the subway back to his car in Astoria and stopped and picked up some Chinese for dinner on the way home. Taylor stopped by for a bit and and we just listened to some music and relaxed. All in all one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time! 🙂

Now on to today’s post. If it’s Monday then it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week my friend LeAnne has given us a vintage challenge…

Paper Players #220

Since I have started stamping I have been given lots of things by my friends that they see when they are out from other companies besides Stampin’ Up! Last week I was playing with some of that stuff and came up with this card and I really love the way it turned out and it fit with the challenge so I decided I would share it with you. The card base is Neenah Solar White, I needed a thick base for my background. Speaking of the background it’s a piece of Watercolor Paper and I heat embossed the “Vintage” French Script Background Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Next I used a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water to wet the whole sheet of paper. Two more Stampin’ Spritzers, one filled with my Bermuda Bay, Champagne Shimmer Mist and alcohol concoction and the other with Early Espresso and alcohol are spritzed across the background. Some Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge Distress Paint mixed with water is then added. The image and greeting are from a Tim Holtz set that has matching framelits called French Flight. I used more of the Distress Paint to stamp the Eiffel Tower and the “Paris” is stamped in Soft Suede on Kraft Craft Card Stock and sponged around the edges. A piece of burlap is spritzed with more Early Espresso and a piece of the Ideology Filmstrip Ribbon is stapled to the background with my Handheld Stapler. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the tower and word and a few mocha sequins scattered across the background complete the card. I had a lot of fun making the card for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge from LeAnne. I hope that you enjoyed it. As always, thank you for stopping by to share some of your time with me. Have a great Monday! 🙂

Yes, I do like a Wednesday, this week has been a little torturous at work and it promises only to get worse. But let me not complain about that, let’s focus on the positive. This weekend promises to be fun and I’m looking forward to it. It will be a busy one but then most of them are and to be honest I wouldn’t have them any other way! Tonight was another quiet night, I ran a few errands after work and then came home and listened to some music. Yes, Sam was in there along with Zedd. I do like to sample opposite ends of the spectrum!

It being Wednesday means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for our sketch challenge…

PCCCS116 Sketch 10-29-2014

I stayed pretty true to the sketch but moved things around a bit! I started today’s card with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I took a piece of Pacific Point and one of the stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, randomly stamped. A piece of Whisper White serves as the home for my greeting which is from the Mingle All the Way Stamp Set and is stamped in Pacific Point. The frame is a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and is cut out with the On Film Framelits and adhered to the white with 2-Way Glue, slightly offset. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. My snowflake is from the Cheerful Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Pacific Point and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. A few Basic Jewels Rhinestones are adhered to the image and another piece of Silver Foil Sheet is punched out with the Banner Punch and tucked behind it. Another Stampin’ Dimensionals adheres it to the card. A nice and bright cheerful non-traditional Holiday card! I don’t think that I have used Pacific Point in a really long time, if ever for a Holiday card, but I really like it! I hoe that you too enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Over on the BLOG you will find some more inspiration from the rest of the design team. Take a little time to make a card and upload it to the gallery so we can see your creation! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Wednesday! 🙂

Here we are at midweek again. This week is a very busy week at work. We have our annual Gala on Friday. There is a nice 7:00am to 11:00pm day! Yesterday was a good day at work, I got to go on a nice long three hour errand! Love when that happens. Last night was a nice quiet evening, I crafted for a bit, talked to Danielle and watch some TV. Oh, I almost forgot, I got my tickets to see Sam Smith again in January. This time he’s in Madison Square Garden!! And I got pretty good seats this time too!! I’m looking forward to that!

So it’s Wednesday and that means I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS115 Sketch 10-22-2014

So when I looked at the sketch I wanted to use the Heart Border Punch, who knows! LOL! My card starts with a base of Garden Green Card Stock. For my background I took a piece of Crumb Cake and embossed it with the On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The bottom is a piece of paper from the Trim the Tree Designer Series Paper Stack. To cover the seam I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler and tied a piece of Linen Thread around it in a bow to the left. The panel is another piece of the Designer Series Paper with a piece of Cherry Cobbler on top and I used the Hearts Border Punch across the top. My Tree is from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Garden Green on Garden Green and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few hearts are adhered to the tree with Multi-Purpose Glue and the panel to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Garden Green on a piece of Whisper White and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. In the upper right corner is part of a circle and a strip of Cherry Cobbler with one of the hearts from the Essentials Wooden Elements colored in with my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker. A heart is adhered to the top of that and three more in the right corner complete the card. A fun traditional Christmas card with a slight country feel to it! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. There is some more inspiration over on the BLOG so be sure and stop by! Thanks for visiting with me today, I hope that you have a very nice Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 114 & Daniel

Yesterday was another good day, I got to go on another errand! I do so love to escape from the office, even if it’s just for a little bit. Daniel was over for dinner yesterday too! My little buddy! He was 11 months old yesterday too! I can’t believe how fast that has gone. I also registered for Leadership in Orlando and booked my flight! Woo hoo! Sunny Florida in January! I’m going to meet my friend Maggie down there a few days early so we can do some fun theme park stuff! I can’t wait! I did remember to take a picture of little Daniel, excuse my weird face, I was trying to get him to look at the camera!

Me & Daniel 10-14-2014

Today is, can you believe it, Wednesday already! That means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS114 Sketch 10-15-2014

I was missing Lost Lagoon so I decided that would be one of my colors for today’s card. The card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Lost Lagoon that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered over to the right. My frame is a piece of Whisper White and I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to create it. The tree is from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Lost Lagoon. I heat embossed the ornaments and star in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder along with some snowflakes from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the frame. The little stars are Silver Foil Sheet and Lost Lagoon, two punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the larger one is cut out with the Stars Framelits. My greeting is also from the Holiday Home Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Bitty Banner Punch, some more Silver Foil Sheet and a few Basic Jewels Rhinestones Complete the card. I love the shine of the silver with the Lost Lagoon and White. Another fun non-traditional Christmas card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Paper Craft Crew 113

Is it Wednesday already?! Yeah! I know, I’m wishing the week away but come on, admit it, you are too! LOL! Yesterday was a pretty good day. Daniel was at my parents when I got there, is it possible that he gets cuter every time I see him?! I’ll remember to take some pictures next time, I promise! I came home and made my card for today and Andrew came by and hung out for a while. He worked on his paper for school and I did the blog thing. All in all a pretty good day and an excellent evening! I have some more pictures from Manhattan to share with you today. I however didn’t take these but it’s something that most of us will never get to see. My friend Brian is a fireman, I think I have mentioned that before, and the people in his group went up to the top of the new Freedom Tower and took some pictures. They were up higher than any of us will ever get to go and even though it was an overcast day the pictures are quite cool. The first one is just looking out over manhattan…

WTC Roof 1

The second one is looking down at the reflecting pools…

WTC Roof 2

To think that’s where the two towers used to stand gives me a little chill, I think that the fogginess adds to the picture too.

Now off we go to today’s post. I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS113 Sketch 10-08-2014

I used a fun set that I had forgotten that I had! My card begins with a base of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. For the background I stamped the Dictionary Background Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black on Crumb Cake. All of the stamped images are from the Bite Me Photopolymer Stamp Set. The panel is a another piece of Pumpkin Pie and I heat embossed the spider web in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. The two spiders are heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch out the Bite Me and backed it with a piece of Whisper White. Finally, the greeting is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and I flagged the right side. I’m really loving the color combination and the stamp set is just so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the BLOG and show us some love by entering your project in the gallery. Thank you for stopping by to share some more pictures with me and see my card, have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
