Paper Craft Crew 121

Mid-week already, not too bad! Work was pretty good yesterday, too. There was an errand involved and we know how much I love that. After work, I came home and retrieved the dog, then ran out to get some pizza so Andrew and I could have dinner before we went to the movies. We picked up Brian and headed to Broadway Mall to see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Andrew had mentioned that they had redone the theater recently, but I hadn’t been there since the renovation. I don’t think I’ll be able to go to another theater ever again because this one was just so great.

Here’s a picture of Andrew enjoying the comfort…

And here’s a nice view of the seats we got to sit in…

BwayMovieSeats

Big, comfortable, and they recline! It’s just like being in your living room! The movie was good. It stayed pretty true to the book, except…SPOILER ALERT…they included the entire rescue scene. That’s not a bad thing, because they executed it well. So yes, I would recommend going to see it. If you do, though, don’t take Andrew with you. He doesn’t like cliffhangers and was not very happy at the end of the movie considering it was part 1, even though he knew what to expect. 😉

If it’s Wednesday, we know that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS121 Sketch 12-03-2014

I stayed very true to the sketch, but had a lot of fun with the card. My base for today’s card is Basic Black Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Daffodil Delight and randomly heat embossed the stars from the Be The Star Stamp Set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut out a piece of Whisper White with the Labels Collection Framelits and used my homemade sunburst stencil to sponge on some Daffodil Delight. The greeting and @ sign are from the #hello Stamp Set. Both are heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black. The @ sign is punched out with the 2″ Circle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the #missyoumore. Tucked under the #missyoumore is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. Three stars from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set are heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few random rhinestones in the top left and bottom right finish off the card. I don’t know what it is, but I really like this card. Fun, basic colors with a little sparkle and shine! I hope you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Now head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch. I appreciate you stopping by and hope that you have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  1. Really? Retrieved the dog? The dog has a name. It’s Winston. He is part human!! LOL And who knew that my hometown mall would become so chic!

Love the card. Love how it all pops! Now go give Winston a pet on the head and apologize.

    1. LOL! Yes, I’m sorry you are right! I retrieved Winston! He misses you! Yes, the Broadway Mall has quite the awesome theater! I’m so glad that you like the card! I made it with someone in mind! 🙂
I have apologized to Winston! He appreciates your advocacy! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin,

What a great card this morning! So bright and cheerful! Somehow the alarm clock is the perfect prop, too!

Sounds like you better start treating Winston with a little more respect. 🙂

    1. Hello Melanie!
Thank you! We need a little bright and cheery amongst all of the Christmas! I need to change up the props! LOL! I know, I will be treating Winston with more respect! 🙂

  3. Justin,

I love your card this morning! So bright and cheery! And the alarm clock is the perfect prop!

Sound to me that you better be a little more respectful toward Winston 🙂

  4. Good Morning Justin:
I mean really, you continue to surprise me. So you make your own stencils? How fabulous. I like the cheerful colors and sparkle on this card. Now see, if I was making it everything would have been centered but you, with your artistic eye moved the @ to the left of center which is much more attractive. I’m not sure what I would have done with this challenge but I do know it wouldn’t compare to the gorgeous job you have done. Hey, Andrew is so dang is so dang cute it’s not funny. Now, we need a photo of Winston! LOL Have yourself a fabulous day! 🙂 Hugs.

    1. Hi Grace!
I’m am very happy that I do get to continue to surprise you! I have had the stencil for a while, love the sunburst! Sometimes you have to do things a little off center, just like me! LOL! Andrew is a little cutie, and to think that he didn’t like the picture! I will take a pic of Winston after he goes for his haircut! I hope your Wednesday was really good my friend! Hugs to you too! 🙂

  5. Ok Justin…I’m with Grace on this one. You make your own stencils?? Wow…never ending talent! 😉 Such a pretty card. I love everything about it! Glad you had a good time at the movie…Andrew looks pretty comfortable! How could you not be in those chairs? Hope your day’s going good! P.S. Andrew has a million dollar smile! 😉

    1. Yes Karen! I need to think of some more to make! I’m happy that you like the card! The movie was fun! Yes, Andrew was quite comfortable! He will be very happy to hear that! 🙂

  6. WOW Justin! This card is AMAZING! You are so imaginative and clever, it would be perfect for anyone in their teenage years, when they become way too ‘cool’ for just about everything… That cinema looks comfy, glad you had a good time – I hope there was popcorn involved? Cheers, Kelly xx

    1. Thanks so much Kelly! I do try! I actually really liked my card, which isn’t usually the case! The cinema was fun and the movie was great! I didn’t have any popcorn, we ate too much pizza before we went! 🙂
