Pals Paper Arts 247

Yay! It’s the weekend! I had another busy day at work yesterday, lots more running around! I did get a nice little treat, Andrew came and met me for lunch! We went to the pizza place and then he came back to the office to hang out for bit. Always nice to see Andrew! I came home and took my dad to get his truck from the repair shop, spoke to Michael for a bit and then Anthony and Bill came to get me so that we could run to Costco. I haven’t been there in a while, I always go to BJ’s so I picked up some stuff that I can’t get at BJ’s. We went to SmashBurger for dinner and it was quite tasty! On the way home we stopped at Starbucks and I got some coffee. When I came home I sat down and watched a movie and by the time that was done it was 12:00, time for bed!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

A sort of monochromatic look with all shades of purple! I have been dying to use a new set that I got from Altenew and as a bonus they recently came out with dies for it too! Card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles for my background. My main panel is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles and adhered some fun foam to the back and then adhered the panel to the card. My roses and leaves are from the Altenew Sketched Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped using the MISTI Tool in Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss and Elegant Eggplant. I used Pear Pizzaz for the leaves and then used the matching dies to cut them all out and adhered them to the card with SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Super Script Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I didn’t add anything else so as to not take away from the awesome font in the greeting and those pretty layered roses! The MISTI made stamping the roses with the multiple layers so quick and easy, love that tool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Pals Paper Arts 246

I’m a little late this morning! I had a very busy day yesterday doing some things for my old department at work. After work I went to get a haircut and little Daniel was at my parent’s house for dinner. They took him to see the Easter bunny at Hicks Nursery. Just when you think that he can’t possibly get any cuter there is this picture!

His little bow tie is just too cute and I love his new haircut! I also went out for drinks last night with Anthony, Bill and Fred. We had a very nice time but I think that I had a little too much because when I got home I passed out on the couch and woke up at 3:00am! I crawled into bed and here we are!

So let’s get on to today’s post which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I do love the Pistachio and Cantaloupe together and the Kraft is the perfect addition. I wanted a quick birthday card, we need those right?! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Kraft. Before I adhered it to the card I adhered a piece of the Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. My tag is punched from a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe using the Ornate Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the greeting from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set in Pistachio Pudding and cut them out with my Paper Snips. They are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Pistachio Pudding Thick Bakers Twine is tied through the top and the tag is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins complete the card. I like the layout and a quick color change would make this card work for just about anyone! Pals Paper Arts 245

I’m a little early for a Saturday! That’s because I’m off to Allentown, PA today with my friend Sue to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Festival. I’m really looking forward to seeing all of the crafty goodness that will be there! I will have a full report tomorrow and hopefully lots of pictures! Yesterday was a pretty quiet day. Little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there after work and he was his usual mischievous self! Yesterday’s big attraction was the vertical blinds and how much noise he could make with them! Even when he is being a little terror he is still pretty cute! He got a new haircut too, here it is!

When I came home I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley and completely got lost in there! It was 10:30 before I knew it! I have to say that I do enjoy when I can just sit and create and not think about anything else! What are your plans for the weekend?!

Today’s card that I have for you is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I wanted to do some inking, haven’t done that in a while! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. Can you believe that Sale-A-Bration is almost over?!?! If there are any products that you haven’t gotten and still want you have a few more days! I took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Night of Navy Ink to cover most of the paper. I then used a little of the Encore Gold Metallic to fill in where there were some lighter spots. My stars are a die from the Circle Card Thinlits and are cut out from the DSP. A piece of Vellum is wrapped around the top portion of the paper and then some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I used the Simon Says Stamp Whishing Die to cut out some more Brushed Gold twice and adhered them together and then to the Vellum with Multi-Purpose Glue. I tried to take a close up of the gold in with the blue, it’s a little blurry but I wish that you could see it in person, it looks so cool! Pals Paper Arts 244

Well, I am feeling much better today! I actually took it easy yesterday and rested up. I think that I just needed a day to reset! It was a nice quiet day, I watched a little TV, napped, made my card for today. Brian stopped by and dropped off some lunch for me and dessert. The dessert was a Nutella crepe and it was delicious! It snowed here for most of the evening and we got about six inches. What a nice way to bring in the first day of Spring! I think that old man Winter has his days messed up! LOL! I have some more projects to work on this morning and then this evening I will be heading into Manhattan with Anthony and Bill to go and see Andrew and Satellite Lane perform at Harmony Sweeps! I’m looking forward to that! What are you all up to today?

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Nice and simple! My card base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire card front with a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. Down the center is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the sunburst from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set with Versa-Mark on a piece of Vellum and heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the Liquid Platinum on a piece of Basic Black and punched out with the Note Tag Punch. I punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch and threaded a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through. The tag is mounted to the sunburst with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The diamond is heat embossed on a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out with my Paper Snips. One more Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the tag. Yes, I resisted the sequins today! LOL! Pals Paper Arts 242

It was a slippery ride to work yesterday morning, they seem to have issues plowing the streets around here! But the sun did come out and started to melt some of the snow, the main roads were clear on my way home. For lunch today Robin and I went for Sushi. I sat and caught up with Danielle for a bit today at work, I miss seeing her all the time. After work I went and got my haircut and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and help pick out some paper and card stock for this month’s card class. I got back to my parent’s just in time to see little Daniel for a bit. He’s so funny, he yells a lot and Winston doesn’t like loud noises. When you say to Daniel be nice to Winston he leans over and puts his head on him, it’s so cute! I’ll have to try and get a picture the next time I see him. I have an extra card to share with you at the bottom of the post today, it’s the card that I made for my friend Robin for her birthday so be sure and scroll past the supplies list to see it!

I also had to share this video that I saw yesterday, wouldn’t it be nice if every just accepted people for who they are and didn’t concern themselves with anything else?! There is so much wrong in the world and it always has something to do with someone not liking what someone else is doing. Let’s just love each other, there are far more important things to concern ourselves with.

The main card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I immediately thought St. Patrick’s Day but decided to go in a completely different direction! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front of it is covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. My background is a piece of the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. Before I adhered that to the card I heat embossed the sentiment from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My tag is created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder from a piece of Basic Black. I threaded a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine thought the top. The leaves are cut out with the Flower Frenzy Bigz Die from a piece of Garden Green. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used the Flower Medallion Punch and the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out the pieces and then adhered them to each other and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Not too complicated and I love the layout, I’ve used it a few times! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Pals Paper Arts 241

Yes, I’m quite late this morning! I had a nice day yesterday, not too busy at work. I came home and picked up Taylor and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte for the card class. I always like to get there early, we grabbed some dinner from Panera and finished up last minute stuff. I had told my friend Brian that I thought he should come and he did! Everyone had a good time! One of my friends from Facebook, Denisse, came too! It was very nice to get to meet her in person! We finished up around 9:30, and helped Renee clean up. My friend Fred had called and asked me to meet him at the bar near my office for a drink. Brian said that he would come so we went there and Taylor took my car home. Fred is a very funny, nice guy but he’s even funnier when he’s had a few! LOL! After the bar we headed to the Diner for a little snack. I haven’t been to the diner that late in years! By the time I got home it was 1:45 and I thought I’ll make my card in the morning. So I got up this morning and made a “quick” card, not really! I didn’t think that I would have to wait for the pieces to dry before assembling the card, so that’s why I’m late! LOL! Here are a few pictures from class last night…

So my “quick” card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

My card starts off with a base of Basic Black Card Stock. To create the shaker I used a piece of Basic Gray for the base. The images are from the Embellished Events Stamp Set and are stamped in Encore Silver Metallic Ink, I hit them with the Heat Tool to make sure that they were nice and dry. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered over the bubbles with Crystal Effects. My frame is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles and the center with the Ovals Collection Framelits. a piece of Window Sheet is adhered to the frame and two layers of Fun Foam make the space for my silver seed beads. The congrats is a die from Ellen Hutson and is cut out from a piece of Silver Foil Sheet, some 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. Not such a quick card but I do love the way it came out, lots of sparkle and shine! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Pals Paper Arts 240

Yay! It’s the weekend! I did have a nice Friday! When I got up yesterday morning and looked at the temperature it was 1 degree, I don’t think that I have ever seen that before and I hope to never see it again! I went to start my car and the front two tires were a little flat so they had to be filled. It’s not easy to get that cap off when you can’t feel your fingers! Work was good, my friend Robin and I went to Monty’s for pizza at lunch. Despite the fact that it was 16 degrees out! LOL! She has heated seats in her car and I wanted to take it back into the office with me! I came home and had dinner with the ‘rents and then made my card for today. Taylor came over and we ran out to Target. They still had some Valentine’s chocolate left and it was 70% off so I had to get some of that! Today I’m off to Manhattan for a little while and then I’m going to run out to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, weather permitting. We are to have some snow again and they aren’t sure how much. Fun!

Today’s card is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I have been wanting to use this die that I have for a while and I thought that this sketch was perfect for it! The base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Gray. My strip down the left side is Pear Pizzaz that I embossed with the Large Polkadot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The die that I mentioned is the Ring Frame from Simon Says Stamp and is cut out from a piece of Pool Party. I used three of middles from the circles for my stamping. The greeting is from the Hello There Host Stamp Set and the swirls are from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are both heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. I adhered the ring frame to the card with itty bitty pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals and the stamped circles are adhered with SNAIL. A few sequins from the Hazel & Ruby Green with Envy Collection are scattered around the card and adhered with Crystal Effects. I really love the color combination and the ring frame is just cool! Pals Paper Arts 239 & Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Saturday and a very happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I had a lovely day yesterday. It started off with my meeting in the morning off-site and then Andrew came and took me out to lunch. We went to Villa Monte which is a really good pizza place not too far from my office. It was good to catch up with Andrew! After work I came home and little Daniel was at my parents so I got to see him for a bit. Heather stopped by with a little treat for me to try. She made Creme Brûlée for the first time and it was delicious! Anything that she puts in an oven always comes out amazing! After that I went home and straightened up a bit and talked with Taylor, who stopped by, then Sandy came by to pick me up so we could go and have our Un-Valentine’s dinner. We went to Friday’s and they had 1/2 price bottles of wine… yes please, some Cupcake Pinot Noir! We had some of the warm pretzels with the craft beer cheese and the salads for dinner. We came back to my house and I showed her some of the new things that I have gotten and some of the cards that I have made but not posted yet. After she left I made my card for today but then wine took over and I got really tired so I went to bed a little early. I would say that’s one of the better Friday’s on record! A very nice day indeed!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

Today’s the last day for a Valentine so I did one more for you! The card base is just a piece of Real Red Card Stock. For my background I stamped the Hardwood Background in Soft Suede on a piece of Crumb Cake and adhered it to the base. The greeting is from the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. I punched out the hearts from a piece of Real Red using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch and randomly adhered them to the vellum with some 2-Way Glue. A few dots of the same glue behind the hearts adheres the Vellum to the card. I never noticed the greeting before but I love it, perfect for Valentine’s Day! Sandy also gave me a little treat bag filled with Hershey’s Kisses so I thought it would be fun to include it in the picture for today! Still a little chilly here! Yesterday work was not too bad, I did get to run to the Apple Store to pick up a new iMac for work. Probably my last time, sigh. After work I went and got my haircut and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. She got a whole bunch of stuff in and I helped put some of it out. I love looking at all of the new goodies and of course I had to buy a few things! LOL! I also got to talk to my favorite person in the whole world while I was there!! I came home and realized the I had a few cards to make so I was up pretty late and up early this morning to head into Manhattan. I’m going to meet my friend Kim for breakfast and then head over to see my friend Isabella. After that I’m coming back out to the island to meet my friend Sue for lunch. I’m looking forward to all of it. 🙂

So the card that I have for you for today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

I definitely haven’t used Rose Red in a long time! I also wanted to use the new Snuggles and Smooches set so here is what I came up with. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the scribbles from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set in Rose Red, Pink Pirouette and Basic Gray randomly to create my background. The Love is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on a strip of Vellum Card Stock. I wrapped that around the background and then adhered it to the card base. Some of the hearts are also heat embossed and punched out with the heart form the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. 2-Way Glue holds them in place. A quick simple and fun card, and yes, it’s technically another Valentine! LOL! Just way too much love lately, I know! Pals Paper Arts 237

So, yesterday at work was my last day in that department. When I get back from vacation I start a new job as a Project Manager for a software program that keeps all of the agencies records. It’s bittersweet because I really liked the people that I worked with but this a is a new adventure and change is always good right?! My old department took me out to lunch and it was really nice. I will miss them for sure. Last night I had a class at the Scrapbook store for my friend Renee. It was so much fun! There were 18 people and we made four cards and a tag. What a lovely bunch of people! Here are a few pictures…

I’m off to Manhattan for a bit this morning to go see my friend Kim and her sister Angie and their friend Dawn. I haven’t been to Manhattan for a while and I’m looking forward to some breakfast at the diner! 😀

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Nice and simple! My card base is Mossy Meadow Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s a little hard to see in the picture but some of those cool watercolor balloons are actually gold foil! Great DSP! I took a piece of Night of Navy and used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Border Die to create the perforated panel along the bottom. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Bermuda Bay. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the panel and the greeting to the card. Not too complicated and the DSP is just so cool!
