Mojo Monday 432

Day two of Snowmageddon 2016. Got my car all dug out and then last night the plows finally came through and put it all back, thanks town workers! Our final total here was 30 inches, that’s a little too much I think! I believe that the snow should be only in the mountains! People that like it can go there to experience it! LOL! The rest of my day was spent crafting and watching a little TV. The X-Files returned last night and was just as amazing as I had hoped that it would be! The second part is on tonight! All of the original cast is there, it was so good to see Scully and Mulder back together! I watched all nine season when it aired years ago and the new episode didn’t disappoint. It’s a six part series, hopefully they will bring it back with a full season! This morning I will go and dig out my car… again. If the plows come back I will not be held responsible for my actions!

The start of the week and we have another new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo432

I guess that my card was influenced by the weather! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Silent Night 6×6 Paper Pad that I got whilst in London! My three banners are cut from Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Basic Gray. For the panel I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Craft Die to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb. I sprayed the back with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and adhered it to a piece of Vellum and that is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The Basic Gray Circle is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch along with a piece of Smoky Slate. I heat embossed the snowflake from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Saying Holidays Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. The Birthday Wishes is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White. The are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Essentials by Ellen Iridescent Gray and Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear Sequins competes the card. I love the colors and think that it would make the perfect winter birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure and head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards! Thank you so much for staring another week off with me! Have an awesome Monday peeps! 🙂

Triple Starburst Birthday

Hi there! I think that Snowmageddon 2016 has finally come to an end. It snowed here all day and we got about 30 inches. 29 inches more than I care for! I think the worst part was the wind, you couldn’t even stand outside. Poor little Winston didn’t know what to do, the snow was way higher than him! Everyone was told to stay off the roads from 2:30pm yesterday until sometime this morning. The Long Island Rail Road along with Metro North and any above ground subways were also closed. I spent all day in the house watching moves and crafting. I did venture over to my parent’s for dinner, mum made the most delicious chicken soup! Today I will attempt to dig out my poor car, that should be loads of fun! Here is a picture of my parents backyard…

Snowmageddon 2016

That was around 6:00 and it snowed for at least another 8 hours. I will say it again, I’m not a fan of Winter!

One of the cards that I made yesterday is today’s card, a nice masculine birthday card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Background Stamp and heat embossed it on a piece of Smoky Slate with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. It’s then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My stars are cut out from some Basic Gray, Black 110lb and Bronze 80lb with the Spellbinders Shining Star Die. I ran it through twice, once to cut it out and then again with the Beige Embossing Mat. The bottom two are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the top bronze one with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Lawn Fawn Let’s Bokeh Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black. I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, it looks so cool on the Smoky Slate! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you very much for stopping by, wish me luck on digging out! Have a Super Sunday! 🙂

SNOW! I hate snow! It’s snowing here and is supposed to continue doing so for the rest of the day. I don’t plan on leaving the house today at all. I did have a very nice Friday! I went and met up with Heather and Brian and we headed to IKEA to get Heather’s new bed. We dropped it off at Heather’s house and picked up the table and chairs and Stephanie and headed into Manhattan. Kim’s new building is nice because you can at least stop outside to take things into her building, the old one was on Second Avenue with the Subway construction, no place to stop! We put the table together and set it up before stopping at Isabella’s to pick up some things and then we headed downtown to go to lunch. After having some parking meter trouble we finally got the car settled and walked over to A Salt & Battery. It’s an actual real English Fish & Chips Shop. They all had cod and chips and I had a banger and some chips. I also had one of my favorite English sodas, Tango! Lunch was delicious! On the way out of  the city we discovered that Adam was working on 56th and 6th so we stopped by to see him for a bit. He is working on a new series for HBO called Divorce starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Hayden Church. We got to sit in the sound room and listen and see them filming a scene. So much fun! Here is a picture of the lady doing the sound and our badge!

So much fun to get to do cool unexpected things! Once we got back to Heather’s I put the bed together and then some of her family stopped by and we had pizza for dinner. I came home and watched a little TV, I was a little tired after the long but fun day! I’m hoping the we don’t get as much snow as they are saying, fingers crossed!

Today I have a fun little shaker card for you! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of paper from the Heidi Swapp September Skies 6×6 Paper Pad along with a piece of Solar White 80lb. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out the window and the angled top. A piece of Acetate and some Foam Tape around the back helps to keep the confetti that I got from Target on clearance after Christmas in place. A pair of feathers are cut from some Solar White 80lb that I inked with Simon Says Stamp Catkin and Scuba Ink using a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The dies are Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies. A random button has a piece of American Crafts Bright Green Basics Hemp Twine tied in a bow and then adhered with the feathers using some Glue Dots. My greeting is cut from Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft Die. I adhered them together and then coated it with Versa-Mark and then Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder before heating it with the Heat Tool to give it the Licorice look. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. I love the greens and blues along with that nice shiny greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you very much for stopping by and I hope that your weather is a lot better than mine! Have a snow-free Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 220

Yay for Friday! The end of another busy week! I had a great time with my friend Sue yesterday! We had some bagels for lunch and then stopped in Marshall’s before heading back to her house to finish up some Etsy stuff! From there I headed over to Heather’s so I could take apart the old bed, which took no time at all! We ran to BJ’s to get some goodies for Thirsty Thursday and then went back to Heather’s to get ready for Kim and Stephanie to come over. We laughed and watched Lip Sync Battle, really enjoy that show! This morning it’s off to IKEA with Heather and Brian to pick up the new bed, back to Heather’s to drop it off and then into Manhattan to drop off the table and chairs to Kim’s. We are going to stop and get some lunch before heading back home. I’ll put the bed together and then come home and hopefully get crafty!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 220

My card base is cut to 3 3/4″ wide so I could let some stuff hang off the edge and still fit it into a standard envelope! It’s the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts Stencil along with some Candied Apple Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to create the nice subtle background. Up in the left corner is a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Craft Die. I also cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and used some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them to each other to make the heart a bit sturdier. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Scribble Heart and Arrow Wafer Die. I used some Versa-Mark and Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to give it the Licorice look and adhered them both to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink next to the heart. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Valentine Mix and Onyx Sequins are added for a little extra sparkle! I still love that Scribble Heart Die and it goes so well with the Arrow! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for taking some time to come by and see me today! Have an absolutely Fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 278

What a nice day I had yesterday! Kim made some very impressive oatmeal for breakfast yesterday morning, it had blueberries and blackberries and all kinds of other goodness in it! The cable guy showed up on time and was there about an hour. He finished and I left the apartment and headed over to see my friend Isabella. It’s always so nice to catch up with her! From there it was off to the Subway and back to Penn Station to head back out to the Island. I had a little lunch when I got home and then later in the evening Danielle stopped by to get some cards from me. I do miss seeing her and the rest of the crew but after she tells me the goings on at the office I certainly don’t miss that! LOL! Danielle left around 7:00 and I headed over to get Heather and we went to Friday’s for dinner. When we got back to her house we watched some ID TV, quite addictive! Like I said, I had a very nice day!

I thought that I would mention that if you are looking for any crafting supplies you might want to head over to my friend Sue’s Etsy shop FlowerCraftEmporium! She has a lot of cool stuff for sale!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to this week I want send some love Claire’s way for selecting me as her headliner for last week’s color challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week…

Paper Players #278

I do love a Valentine! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of black and white Washi Tape. I used the Lawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Red Felt and Black 110lb. They are then adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with SNAIL. My tag is cut from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Medium Tags Craft Dies. I tied a piece of Hemptique Black and White Baker’s Twine through the top and adhered the tag to the card with Foam Tape. Another heart is cut out with the Hearts Stackables from a piece of My Mind’s Eye Christmas on Market Street Gold Foil Vellum and adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. The little red heart is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I die cut a piece of American Crafts Red Glitter Paper along with some Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Dies. They too are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the simplicity of the card and the texture of the red felt adds that little extra something! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players CAS Valentine challenge from Sandy! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! I wish you all a very happy Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 178

Happy Hump Day peeps! I enjoyed my day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then around 10:40 I headed over to see my friend Sue. We got caught up and then worked on some Easy stuff before heading to our favorite place for lunch, Panera! I had my usual Tomato Soup and a Grilled Cheese, YUM! After that we ran back to my house to pick up some more stuff for Etsy. I showed Sue some of the Taylor Swift Concert on Apple Music, she is a big Taylor Swift fan and loved it. I came back home around 5:00 and got my stuff together so I could head into Manhattan. When I got to the train station I found out that the trains were not going into Penn Station but terminating at Jamaica so I had to take the E and then F Subways to get over to Kim. We went to Baker Street for dinner and had delicious salads and the came back to the apartment and I set up some of her new electronic goodies! This morning I’m waiting for the TimeWarner man and then I’ll stop by and see Isabella before heading back out to the Island.

Hmm… Wednesday, that means that today is another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS178 DT Sketch 1-20-2016

Nice and simple! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Crd Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For my background I stamped the Hero Arts Pearl Strings Bold Prints Background Stamp that Renee brought me back from CHA in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink on Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam SNAIL. Across the middle is a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and Black 110lb. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Thoughtful in Simon Says Stamp Scuba Ink using my MISTI so I could double stamp it to make sure that it was nice and dark! It’s cut out with the Coordinating Being Classy Dies and adhered to the strips with Multi-Matte Medium. The so is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black directly onto the background. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cuts with a small red punched heart in the middle. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine tied in a bow is then adhered to the small heart with a Mini Glue Dot. I love that nice bold greeting paired with the cool background! SIP Challenge 31 – Birthday!

I had a very low key Monday. I FacetTimed with Andrea in the morning and then took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to go over next month’s class with Renee. A bunch of the ladies were there scrapping the day away and Angie was playing with Renee’s new Cricut Explore Air. They were cutting out embellishments for pages. Boy do they require a lot of assembly! After that I came home and UPS delivered my new Vacuum! I got it on HSN for a great price after my Dyson died. I had it for 6 years but I would expect a $400 vacuum to last longer than that! This time I got a Hoover Windtunnel Air and boy does it have some impressive power! The woman in the video on HSN actually had the vacuum stick to the ceiling! You have to take a look at the live presentation video HERE! I was sold! LOL! After dinner I watched a little TV and then made a quick card. Today I’m going over to see my friend Sue and then this evening I’m going to head into Manhattan and stay at Kim’s so I can be there in the morning for Time Warner. A nice little mid-week break from the Island!

Tuesday and we have another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you! This time it’s birthdays…

SIP Challenge 31 - Birthday Theme 800

My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. Another piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Craft Die and that too is adhered to the card at a slight angle. The balloons pieces of Recollections Red, Gold and Aqua Glitter Paper cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The gold and red one are adhered with SNAIL and the Aqua one with Foam Tape. A piece of Ivory 110lb is cut out with one of the other dies from the Birthday Frame and adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. Mojo Monday 431

Well, it snowed here last night, bummer! Just a little coating, not a fan at all! I did have a nice day yesterday. I took the furniture over to Heather in the morning and then we came back to my house to get my car, got some gas and headed into Manhattan. Traffic was pretty good on the way in. We picked up Kim and Maggie and headed uptown to go to the Diner. After driving around for about 30 minutes trying to find a parking space we finally gave up and parked in the garage and walked over to the Diner. Kim and Maggie had breakfast and Heather and I had lunch. From there we took Maggie and Kim back to Kim’s and then headed down to The Ink Pad. We found a parking space right around the corner! Jane and Brianna were there and I dropped off my cards and picked up my Finetec Metallic Watercolors from Jane, can’t wait to give them  try! We were back home in less than a hour, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning! I watched The Imitation Game and then had dinner with my parents. More HGTV was on tap to finish off the day!

The start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I went with a wintry birthday card for this week! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Whiteout Collection. I wrapped a piece of Vellum around the right side and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is cut out from a piece of Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My snowflakes are the Simon Says Stamp Rylynn and Ashlynn Snowflake Craft Dies, one is cut form a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper and a piece of Solar White 80lb and the other from a piece of Solar White 110lb. They are both adhered to the card with Glue Dots. A healthy dose of Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Gold and some Blue Sequins from the Seattle Mix finishes off the card! I love that piece of Bo Bunny Paper with the blues and metallics, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off with me! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Another nice and simple one! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Smoky Slate and adhered a piece of paper from the DoodleBug Polar Pals 6×6 Paper Pad on the left and then stamped some snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink on the right. Some SNAIL adheres the panel to the card. The main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I cut out two pieces of it with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The second piece is then cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. I adhered a sticker from the DoodleBig Polars Pals Icons Cardstock Stickers to the rectangle and then adhered the hill to it with Foam Tape. The penguin and snowflake are also form the same stickers and are adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Cute Snowflakes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Smoke Ink too. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine, Amethyst and Marshmallow Sequins finish the card! I really do like the DoodleBug Polars Pals goodies a lot, I think that it’s the awesome combination of colors and the cute stickers don’t hurt either! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for your visit and I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂
